Metered Market Tuesday Ratings

CBS 6.2/10
NBC 5.0/ 8
ABC 3.8/ 6
Fox 2.7/ 4
CW 2.4/ 4
-Percent Change from Year-Ago Evening – Tuesday 12/03/13:
CW: +50, ABC: +41, Fox: +35, CBS: -13, NBC: -14
———-
Note: The following labels are based on the household overnights and are subject to change given the availability of other pending data streams. These overnights are your first look at the ratings and a precursor to what could lie ahead. And we take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence.
-Winners:
“The Voice” (NBC), “NCIS” R (CBS), “The Flash” (CW), “NCIS: New Orleans” R (CBS), “Chicago Fire” (NBC)
-Losers (excluding repeats):
“Marry Me” (NBC), “New Girl” (Fox), “About a Boy” (NBC), “The Mindy Project” (Fox), “Forever” (ABC)
———-
Ratings Breakdown:
CBS was still the top Tuesday overnight draw despite airing repeats of “NCIS” (#1 for the night: 7.4 rating/11 share), spin-off “NCIS: New Orleans” (#1: 6.4/10) and “Person of Interest” (#2: 4.7/ 8). But a 7.2/11 in the household overnights for “The Voice” from 8-9 p.m. should be more than enough to lead NBC to victory for the night in adults 18-49 (and all the key young adult demographics).
Unfortunately, the solid lead-in support from “The Voice” continues to be wasted on 9-10 p.m. lead-out sitcoms “Marry Me” (#3: 3.2/ 5) and sophomore “About a Boy” (#3: 2.9/ 4). While we certainly understand there is much more than the overnights, household retention of just 44 percent for “Marry Me” out of the 8:30 p.m. portion of “The Voice” (7.3/11) just does not cut it. Question for NBC: Do you really need those five additional episodes of “Marry Me”?
Opposite the aforementioned encore telecast of “Person of Interest,” NBC’s “Chicago Fire” led the 10 p.m. hour with a 4.9/ 8, which was 69 percent above lead-in “About a Boy” and 26 percent above the 3.9/ 6 one week earlier.
On ABC, original animated special “Toy Story That Time Forgot” finished third in the household overnights with a 4.2/ 7 in the 8 p.m. half-hour, which should resonate in the key demos. And it led into the annual airing of 1965 special “A Charlie Brown Christmas” at a 4.0/ 6 at 8:30 p.m. (#3). Next on the alphabet net was sophomore “Marvel’s Agent of SHIELD” at a third-place 3.7/ 6 at 9 p.m., which should also get some mileage demographically. But a similar 3.5/ 6 (#3) for freshman drama “Forever” at 10 p.m. could ultimately dip in the vicinity of 33 percent among adults 18-49 out of “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.”
On The CW, freshman hit “The Flash” built by 15 percent week-to-week with a 3.0/ 5 in the overnights at 8 p.m. Comparably, that was 76 percent above year-ago occupant “The Originals” (1.7/ 3 on 12/03/13). And it led into a 1.7/ 2 (#5) for “Supernatural” at 9 p.m., which increased by 13 percent from both last week and the year-ago telecast. If it is financially feasible, “Supernatural” could very well be back for an 11th season in 2015-16.
Over at Fox, “MasterChef Junior” scored a 3.3/ 5 (#4) in the overnights from 8-9 p.m., which was 35 percent, on average, above year-ago sitcoms “Dads” (2.4/ 4 on 12/03/13) and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (2.5/ 4). But 9-10 p.m. sitcoms “New Girl” (#4: 2.3/ 8) and “The Mindy Project” (#4: 1.8/ 3) continue to underwhelm.

The Flash rose and took Supernatural along. Now I am hoping the same happens with Arrow and The 100 tonight!
ReplyDeleteMe too. Keeping my fingers crossed for The 100.
ReplyDeleteYay Chicago Fire apparently bounce it back!
ReplyDeleteI hope it hits a 2. Last night was the winter finale.
ReplyDeleteCome on SHIELD, please be up!
ReplyDeleteGo FLASH! Spread good ratings all over THE CW!
ReplyDeleteThe episode deserves this and much more.
Wow at The Flash!! I think Arrow will do great ratings tonight due to the crossover! I hope Chicago Fire hit at least a 2.0.
ReplyDeleteWow amazing job for Flash. The last time it got a 3.0 in HH was for the 2nd episode.
ReplyDeleteChicago Fire seems like it rebounded and thats SHIELD's highest rating since the premiere. Lets see about the demos especially for the ABC cartoons.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow I expect Arrow to get close to whatever Flash gets today. Who knows, maybe non-Arrow fans who'll tune in for tonight for the crossover will like what they see and stick around!
ReplyDeleteNever saw Oliver smile as much as last night. Thought his face would crack.
Wow shield!! Please be up
ReplyDeleteThe crossover bumped The Flash ratings!
ReplyDeleteI hope it does the same for Arrow and the show hits a series high 1.4 or similar :D
I think none Arrow fans will watch Arrow tonight JUST for the crossover. I don't think they'll stick around. Didn't happen for Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and SVU.
ReplyDeleteI want Arrow to hit a 1.4-1.5 and that it could propell The 100 up to 1.0/0.9. I know its a long shot (especially for The 100, which hasn't beneffited much from its lead in this season), but hey! A man can dream
ReplyDeleteWho had any doubt that SPN wouldn't be back for 11th season, apparently only marc!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see The Flash being that high again! I hope this boost could stick!
ReplyDeletelol what an idiot.
ReplyDeleteMarc and his passive agressive hatred for Supernatural is as old of a tale as Everybody Loves Raymond
ReplyDeleteStill,there's hatred & then there's delusion!
ReplyDeleteWe're talking about the same man who listes The Mysteries of Laura as a winner every Wednesday despite knowing it does exactly the same as Revolution on the demos. I think we knew what we were getting into when we read the overnights
ReplyDeleteThe flash will most probably score 1.6/1.7!
ReplyDeleteSo true!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see those ratings! I'm really hoping it can go the extra mile and deliver a 1.8!
ReplyDeleteI dont watch those shows, but wondered if crossovers had any long term effects.
ReplyDeleteWell, maybe we'll get lucky.
Note also how he gave "winner" classification to both NCIS twins.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised.I hope Arrow benefits from this cross-over and gets at least 1.3/1.4.It can help the 100 a bit in that case, maybe 0.7/0.8
ReplyDeleteYeah I'd love for Arrow to go above 1.0 comfortably tonight...at least a 1.2!!! Fingers crossed!!
ReplyDeleteArrow and The Flash are closer than Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and SVU. They share the same world, they sometime share the same villains.. so I hope Arrow would benefit from the crossover more than Dick Wolf shows.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see those ratings for both Arrow and The 100! Especially for The 100, since it is the show that needs the boost the most
ReplyDeleteYa,the show is too good to not get a 3rd season.
ReplyDeleteSo if the flash gets at least a 1.6 hopefully arrow can get at least a 1.3
ReplyDeleteI think you are a bit too optimistic, just a tiny little bit ;) But of course, one can dream. I definitely think Arrow can crack a 1.0 tonight, and as for The 100 perhaps an 0.7 but I will already be relieved if it stays at 0.6.
ReplyDeleteIt would be one of the greatest TV crimes made since ABC cancelled Pushing Daisies
ReplyDeleteI loved Pushing Daises!
ReplyDeleteSame here, a 0.6 will already be good, but if it goes the extra mile I'll be over the moon!
ReplyDeleteI'm just happy CW has come a long way since it's GG and 90210 days!
ReplyDeleteIt is by far the greatest comedy I've ever seen and I'll never forgive ABC for cancelling it
ReplyDeleteIs it me or is it everything above last week?
ReplyDeleteThose Shield ratings are very encouraging, I think it hasn't had as high as a HH since the season premiere. Is NCIS:NO hurting it in any way? I find it odd that it airs a repeat and suddenly Shield seems to shoot up
I've noticed some people on twitter mentioning they're going to give Arrow another go after enjoying The Flash part of the crossover. So hopefully this will win back some viewers.
ReplyDeleteRemember the old days when you could watch a show in peace? Before getting addicted to sites like these and obsessing over numbers?
ReplyDeleteLol, Those were the days!
I hope so! Arrow is a good player for The CW, but deserves even higher ratings.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see how it performs tonight!
Go supernatural!!!!
ReplyDeleteHope it happens!
ReplyDeleteIt could also be the better lead-in.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but those are the same days when suddenly a show went off the air and you were like "WTF?! Where did that show go?!" It first happened to me with Pushing Daisies, then with FlashForward, and so it began my internet investigation.... and here I am every morning! xD.
ReplyDeleteI guess though a addictive, it has the upside that I won't find much surprises when it comes to renewal/cancellations/yanking off the schedule. But on the other hand, sometimes it's a bit too much xD
True, didn't account for that. It certainly had an effect
ReplyDeleteEverything seems to be up, yeah. But last week ABC aired the DWTS finale, which certainly hurt pretty much all the other networks. And I do think that the absence of CBS last night might have helped the other networks to bounce back, including Shield.
ReplyDeleteIs there any doubt that Supernatural will be back for an 11th season?
ReplyDeleteI took a sigh of relief probably Ncis no is hurting it also AOS is trending thanks to Netflix seriously the number of people who became fas in these two weeks is insane hopefully this momentum stays.
ReplyDeleteNone at all, only if the creative team and cast decides to call it a quit and it doesn't seem to be the case.
ReplyDeleteShould they want to, SPN could run as long as SVU
I think the CW needs to promote The 100 heavily during Arrow, instead of just the weak last second "coming up next"
ReplyDeleteInteresting, and also good. I have to caught up with AoS now that I'm on my summer break, but I remember the show becoming good from episode 15 and onwards last season, so I've been rooting for it.
ReplyDeleteIf it can improve on the ratings and stick with that improvement that would be great :)
They should. I'm sure Arrow fans could be intrigued by the premise of The 100, they just need to know what it is about
ReplyDeleteIKR I used to watxh revenge and did not think about ratings at all. Nor did i know that they exist. Those were the nice days
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw that Tom Welling (Smallville) was producing Hellcats on CW, i decided to check it out. I stumbled on to an article on TVBTN, and been following ratings ever since.
ReplyDeleteAOS is a great show for binge watching i did it in the summer after learning it got a second season I'm way to choosy about this stuff which is why the 100 is giving me heartaches these days
ReplyDeleteI regularly followed ratings since I first heard Fringe was in danger of cancellation... on season 3. Been a rating junkie ever since!
ReplyDeleteToy Story at a 2.2.
ReplyDeleteNot bad, especially if Charlie Brown grew from it.
Yeah it can get REALLY bad on there!
ReplyDeleteThis might be ABC's best Tuesday for the season (minus DWTS Finale)
ReplyDeleteNice one Flash! If it doesn't adjust down then it'll match the season high.
ReplyDeleteI am still waiting for sunday final ratings
ReplyDelete2.1 early demos for SHIELD and 1.9 for The Flash!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE THOSE TOP 25 NUMBER FOR THE FLASH AND AGENTS OF SHIELD!
ReplyDeleteIf you see its season 2 ratings, its hard to blame them. After taking 9 months off for the writer's strike, the entire ABC lineup was in shambles and they chose to save Private Practice out of the bunch. It would have been really cool to see them out Pushing Daisies after Grey's, but obviously the spin off made more sense. That being said, the show was awesome!
ReplyDeleteOnce 2.1
ReplyDeleteResurrection 0.9
Revenge 1.0
Hopefully Arrow gets a big ratings boost for tonight's episode!
ReplyDeleteHope those early top 25 markets stick. How sick it would be to see Flash at a 1.9? And Shield back on 2s? They probably will get down, but so far it is looking pretty good for both.
ReplyDeleteCrossing my fingers son tonight Arrow goes high!
I'm glad OUAT adjusted up! I wish Revenge did too, though
ReplyDeleteMe too!!!! Hopefully Arrow hits a season or a series high!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I know, but creatively I think Pushing Daisies deserved the shot more than Private Practice... but well, what can you do? That 9 month break really did kill Pushing Daisies
ReplyDeleteMy prediction for Arrows and The 100 ratings tonight are:
ReplyDeleteArrow - 1.4 and 3.22 million viewers
The 100 - 0.8 and 1.95 million viewers
What about you guys?
Did Flash spill into SPN by a few minutes or did it end on time?
ReplyDeleteI still think ABC should have done
ReplyDelete8- Shark Tank Spinoff
9- AOS
10- The Whispers
Does anyone know where the whispers or fresh off the boat are going?
I'm aiming for series high here! It deserves it and considering the NBC experiences with crossovers, it is entirely possible
ReplyDeleteNot yet but there's a chance - however slim - That this will come to pass.
ReplyDeleteSo far, is looking good for ABC.
ReplyDeleteKeep in mind 1) different networks 2) different type of shows
ReplyDeleteI think it was just an off week for OUAT- hopefully it rebounds to 2.4 next week
ReplyDeleteit has the same top 25 markets as the 2nd episode, so i am thinking 1.6 or 1.7
ReplyDeleteI think it will and i hope it keeps its crossover numbers for the rest of the season.
ReplyDeleteI know, I'm just saying it is possible. I think The Flash audience will want to watch part 2 of the crossover and that will boost Arrow greatly. It's just an assumption, we won't until tomorrow, but here's hoping Arrow goes as high as 1.4-1.5!
ReplyDeleteProbably, I just tend to dream a lot. Still a 1.6 or 1.7 would be great!
ReplyDeleteYes Forever, If that sticks that is a decent number and a big improvement, it tends to match or drop 1 point from the top 25 but even a 1.2 would be encouraging, might even beat Revenge and Resurrection this week.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if ABC would consider a new Marvel show but one based off a character
ReplyDeleteAgent Carter? lol
ReplyDeleteDaredevil could have been the show if it wasn't developed by Netflix. But considering it got made, maybe there will be a new Marvel superhero show, it is just a matter of which and when
ReplyDeletea popular one I mean sotra like Arrow or Flash but instead a marvel
ReplyDeleteI mean Arrow/The Flash and even Gotham have been pretty successful compared to AOS
ReplyDeleteIf Hawkeye was wrote out of the Avengers I could totally see him getting his own show
ReplyDeleteThey got Ghost Rider and Blade but they're way too dark for ABC.
ReplyDeleteNo because revenge and resurrection were Counted for last week. Also, Revenge should rise this week since it is airing its Winter finale
ReplyDeleteRevenge & Resurrection's ratings are part of last weeks ratings. Nielsen is from Monday-Sunday. Forever is dead either way. It's a first season show. Honestly, all 3 shows are done so there's no point in comparing them.
ReplyDeleteWow shield retained well from its lead in probably a 1.8 pretty damn good I'm happy the show deserves great ratings
ReplyDeleteYep, but to be honest AoS did have the chance to be as succesful, it just blew it with its first episodes.
ReplyDeleteNow that it is good again it would be nice if it got a good companion series that could prop it up. It is hard to think of one though, there are too many going to movies to think of a possible one to go to TV
How can dumb resurrection adjust up and not revenge. That makes me so angry! I hope revenge rises to a 1.3 this sunday
ReplyDeleteI never said they were part of the weeks ratings? Hence why I said IT MIGHT beat them this week obviously Might implying we don't know the ratings for Res/Rev as they havn't aired yet.
ReplyDeleteOff week for ABC mate, wait for next week before panicking.
ReplyDeleteAnd please, do not call Resurrection dumb; I love Revenge and I wish it had adjusted up, but you don't see me calling names on other shows. Please don't do that, it's irritating and disrespectful to Ressurection's fans
Oh i also read your Post wrong. My bad
ReplyDeleteYou get mad when people bash revenge but your bashing another show
ReplyDeleteIt's possible, Marvel and ABC were looking at 4 possible options to bring to TV a few years back. Hulk (with Guillermo del Toro attached), Cloak and Dagger, Jessica Jones and Agents of SHIELD.
ReplyDeleteAgents of SHIELD ended up happening while Jessica Jones was included in the Netflix deal. Hulk is apparently on hold last I looked into it while Cloak and Dagger were instead added into the Ultimate Spider-Man animated show.
I could see Hulk doing pretty well
ReplyDeleteHaha I was going to reply to urs before Robs popped up as well, No worries, seeing as 2 people have come to that conclusion maybe I didn't make it as clear as I could have.
ReplyDeleteA show that drops to a 0.9 from a 2.1 deserves plenty of bashing.
ReplyDeleteA show that dropped from a 3.8 to a 0.9 in 16 episodes deserves it too.
It annoys me that Resurrection still bleeds into the first minute of Revenge. I'm guessing ABC already pre-sold advertising.
ReplyDeleteI don't think resurrection is dumb and that is nor how i meant it. I was referring to the ratings
ReplyDeleteNo it doesn't!
ReplyDeleteIts performance may be dreadful, but there's no reason to call the show "dumb". It is disrespectful for people who enjoy it
I was not referring to the show more to the ratings. I have never seen resurrection so i will not judge it
ReplyDeleteI figured you meant it like that, but still you have to be careful. "Dumb" is not a word that can be thrown like that, it did seem like you were commenting about the quality of the show instead of its performance
ReplyDeleteOh I didn't notice that. I was just talking about ratings. Calling it "dumb" is just a matter of opinion.
ReplyDeleteAlright Flash! Knew you'd rise!! It's Arrow's time now.
ReplyDeleteOne thing is to comment about its dreadful rating performance, which is pretty dreadful, but the quality of the show is something that is better off left alone, or at least treated more carefully. One can't say "I don't like this show" or "it is doing dreadful", but there's a line with words such as "dumb" or "bashing" which seems to comment on the quality of the show and not its actual ratings. It's something to be careful about
ReplyDeleteTop25 confuses me much. What was SPN top25 last week, 0.8? Hopefully it stays at 1.0 . Great numbers for TF! One way or the other it was a strong night for CW ( press release is coming in 1..2..) and tonight is going to be a great night too
ReplyDeleteI would love it but unless they recast Hawkeye it won't happen. Jeremy Renner is constantly in demand, has several franchises on the go besides the Avengers (Mission Impossible, Bourne) as well as doing more passion projects and indie films.
ReplyDeleteNow Marvel has recast roles before like Hulk and Rhodey so its not completely crazy that they would do it but seems unlikely.
You can see last weeks early ratings table here
ReplyDeletehttp://www.spoilertv.com/2014/11/ratings-news-26th-november-2014.html
It ended on time.
ReplyDeleteYesssssss! Fingers crossed for an eleventh season for the awesome Supernatural. It just gets better and better.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural is a certain renewal
ReplyDeleteIf they wanted to go the route of doing a superhero without the powers (like Arrow) the could always do a show on the second Hawkeye, Kate Bishop.
ReplyDeletehow about CBS?
ReplyDeletePotential timeslots for FOTB: Tuesday 8, Tuesday 9, Wednesday 8:30, Thursday 9 (Jan only), Thirsday 9:30 (Jan only)
ReplyDeleteSHIELD: 1.8
ReplyDeleteThe Flash: 1.5
Rest of ABC's line-up:
ReplyDeleteToy Story: 1.9
Charlie Brown: 2.1
Forever: 1.2
Flash 1.5 (half hours 1.5/1.6)
ReplyDeleteSPN 0.9 (half hours 1.0/ 0.9
Ratings are now in the table
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything.
ReplyDeleteTry Refreshing
ReplyDeleteNvm I see them now.
ReplyDeleteIm happy for shield it won the hour and with a little bit of promotion and a good lead it can do very well
ReplyDeleteWas hoping for higher for The Flash, but that's still great!
ReplyDeletePretty damn great for The Flash vs. Arrow! And yay to SHIELD adjusting up two tenths! Almost back in the 2.0 range. I'm happy :)
ReplyDeleteFlash has been at 1.4 for a while. 1.5 is good but I thought it'd be higher...
ReplyDeleteI still think The Flash will be adjusted up to 1.6... Fingers Crossed! :D
ReplyDeleteThe Flash will surely adjust up, I can feel it. Also, 4.22 million! Biggest viewership since the premiere.
ReplyDeleteAoS over 5 million and a 1.8. It really did benefit from a much better lead in
Wow! 1.8 Is great for SHIELD up 2 tenths! Shows what Netflix and an NCIS repeat can do, and a good lead in! I can breathe a sigh of relief for this week, on to next week!
ReplyDeleteI think the crossover will help arrow more than it helped the flash since flash's ratings are already a lot higher than arrow. Is still see a 1.3 for arrow
ReplyDeleteWhy so low for CF it was pretty good! Ughh
ReplyDeleteAgreed what a relief ABC needs to take note the show can do great if they use their brains to fix the schedule
ReplyDeleteLooks like CF hasn't benefitted from crossover
ReplyDeleteHappy to see the Flash jump in viewership. I tend to see big episode events like this one in isolation but I hope the Flash maintains itself like it has prior to last night's episode and if it improves after this even better.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I definitely see it adjusting up. I feel good about the Arrow/The 100 ratings tomorrow. And I feel a lot better about AoS's prospects with these ratings. Clearly it can build off a lead-in, so if we get a good one during the spring, the ratings could maybe start averaging out in the 1.7 - 1.8 range. A girl can hope.
ReplyDeleteUgh! First Castle now CF my shows are not have a good week.
ReplyDeleteHalf Hours The Flash and Supernatural?
ReplyDeleteToy Story and Chicago Fire did worse than I thought they would. And it's unbelievable how steady Charlie Briwn is from the Thanksgiving episode
ReplyDeleteThis argument is so done. zZzzZzZz
ReplyDeleteThe crossover was 3 weeks ago and, also, it is kind hard to someone stick around with a 3 year old heavy serialized show!
Flash: 1.5/1.6
ReplyDeleteSPN: 1.0/0.9
Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDamn, I fell so fooled by this early ratings and Top25 numbers.
ReplyDeleteThis 1.6 for CF now seems even worse :((((
I was expecting higher numbers for Flash, but a final 1.6 will still be nice. AoS surprised me, looks like it could really use a good lead in.
ReplyDeleteCF has two basically canceled and awful sitcoms in front of it. Bad programming by NBC. Need to fix it when CF comes back in January.
ReplyDelete"If it is financially feasible, “Supernatural” could very well be back for an 11th season in 2015-16."
ReplyDeleteThis is already a given, but thanks anyways, Marc.
And looks like The Flash/Arrow did some good in the ratings. Hopefully Arrow's numbers rise up tonight too.
Ugh, SPN , I was hoping you'll crack the 1s. At least it steady, and totally no lead-depended ( which is not good if your lead is TF ). Hopefully it will go back to 1s in midsession finale which looks fantastic from promo perspective
ReplyDeleteCF is not that serialized, one could easily catch up with the storyline and enjoy the season.
ReplyDeleteNetflix and an NCIS repeat really didnt do anything for it....it was just because of the better lead in.
ReplyDeleteIn total viewers, it's the third highest episode of the season, so I'd say the numbers look very good.
ReplyDeleteAND IT'S ALL NBC FAULT!!!! WHY THEY KEEP THIS COMEDY BLOCK????
ReplyDeleteImagine how well it will be when Parks begin? Poor Chicago Fire.
Good for Flash and AoS.
ReplyDeleteI still say that SPN should be moved to another night come mid-season.
Yes The Flash. And nothing against Chicago Fire fans, but seeing those ratings not being as high as NBC, the show or the fans would like gives me positive vibes for POI's ratings when it airs originals.
ReplyDeleteWell, if you compared with The Blacklist, TMoL, Chicago PD or SVU...
ReplyDeleteIt is heavy serialized.
How is it NBC's fault? The show is in its 3rd season, it shouldn't be lead independent
ReplyDeleteit is a 3rd year show! it shouldn't need a lead in
ReplyDeleteWell, they try to fix it (ruin it) with Parks And Rec / Marry Me / About A Boy!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATS NBC! -not
I didn't say it's bad, I'll just hoping for high 1.0s.
ReplyDeleteBlaming CF's rating woes on the lead-in is preposterous. CF, like Chicago PD and SVU have a core audience of about mid-high 1's.
ReplyDeleteLast year, CF got a 1.7 from a Growing Up Fisher lead-in of 1.6. Its mid-season finale rating has nothing to do with lead-in problems.
I agree SPN is not benefitting from lead in but would CW risk his megabit by weakening night with possible flop? Becouse there is absolutely no warranty that TF will make another hit or even show with SPN ratings. TVD couldnt. So TF can be stuck with low rated lead-our in spring what can affect its spring ratings.
ReplyDeleteIt's more serialized than other shows from NBC, but it doesn't mean it's hard to catch up and enjoy the episodes. It's not like Scandal (and yet it manages to grow every season) or Grey's Anatomy.

ReplyDeleteYes, it shouldn't but NBC prefer waste TV lead-in with those dead comedies block instead of put CF back after TV (since CF's retention is way better)
ReplyDeleteI feel like networks are potentially ruining shows that are able to grow from terrible lead ins by airing them after terrible lead in shows, when they clearly have the ability to grow when given the chance! Can't expect Chicago Fire to grow much more than it did from a 1.0 rating. Same applies to Scorpion for CBs and AOS for ABC.
ReplyDeleteCF has had nearly 2 seasons of The Voice lead-in. It should be steady enough to hold its own by now.
ReplyDeleteWhile lead-in can help, if the show is good people will come
ReplyDeleteCF should have its own audience by now
ReplyDeleteSPN viewers totals is the same as last year but they 18-49 is down. Is it skewing older now I wonder.
ReplyDeleteUh no. Chicago Fire only really had The Voice lead in for half a season, in the fall of 2013. And some weeks here and there.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to discuss which series is more serialized, my point is, you can't expect that a crossover between 2 shows that ar lower rated then Chicago Fire (and one of these are actually a spin-off from it) be a 'rating-savior'...
ReplyDeleteYes but it should have found its audience by now
ReplyDeleteCW press release
ReplyDeleteLast night's epic crossover episode of
THE FLASH was the series' most watched (4.22M) episode since the second
week of the season (10/14), and tied for its best A18-49 (1.5/5) rating since week two. It was its highest-rated episode in A18-34 (1.3/5) since its third episode on 10/21.
THE FLASH had its second best M18-34
rating (1.6/7) of the season, behind only the series premiere, and its
best M18-49 (1.9/6) since 10/14.
THE FLASH was tied for #2 in the hour in A18-34 and ranked #1 in M18-34.
Week to week, THE FLASH was up +22% in total viewers, +18% in A18-34, and +7% in A18-49.
At 9pm, Supernatural rose +3% over last week in total viewers (2.36M), and was steady in A18-34 (0.8/3), and A18-49 (0.9/3).
The CW had its most watched Tuesday night (3.29M)
since the Flash series premiere on 10/7, and was up +14% over last week
in total viewers, +10% in A18-34 (1.1/4) and +9% in A18-49 (1.2/4).
Versus this same week last year, The CW's Tuesday night is up +39% in total viewers, +10% in A18-34 and up +9% in A18-49.
Well, the bad thing about that is that the Arrow part of the crossover wasn't a good representation of Arrow. No broody Oliver, no whining Laurel, no flipping Roy, etc.
ReplyDeleteSo if they tune in expecting what they saw on The Flash they might be disappointed.
Yeah, Supernatural!!! :) ♥
ReplyDeleteWould Hulk work on a TV budget, though, considering the effects it would require?
ReplyDeleteIn general, I *am* partial to the idea of ABC adding another Marvel show, if only so they'd have something to pair with AoS.
I was hoping the Toy Story/Charlie Brown double would help AOS and it did! Yay.
ReplyDeleteI would be down for that, I love Kate in the comics and a female lead would fit the ABC model more (assuming Agent Carter does well for them)
ReplyDeleteyay AOS up! Chicago Fire still steady :)
ReplyDeleteQuality does not do a damn thing for ratings.
ReplyDeleteMarvel's shared universe is really a double-edged sword. It's awesome and epic on the one hand, but really limits their TV division on the other hand. All the A-listers are appearing in the films, so they don't have any well-known, popular characters available for their TV series. Meanwhile, gets to use iconic heroes like The Flash or villains like Deathstroke and Ra's al Ghul on TV because it doesn't prevent them from featuring those characters on the big screen as well.
ReplyDeleteThat's personally the real reason I think the show was put on hold. The public reason was that they decided to take the Hulk character in a different direction then Guillermo del Toro had planned.
ReplyDeleteI think Arrow should rise.......
ReplyDeleteHow is 1.6 a bounce back?
ReplyDeleteDo people honestly think the Toy story/Charlie Brown audience is the same as the AoS one? All this talk about lead-ins acts as if people have no remote. Genre show like AoS depend on a reliable audience; the only kind of lead-in that would work would be a show of the same genre for those, since they don't have universal appeal.
ReplyDeleteAoS is more likely getting by on good buzz and Netflix I would think. Especially with its overarching storyline that requires a whole picture view.
Lead-ins are only really useful from one comedy/procedural to the next or similar audience shows.
Well it looked like the episode indeed reached 1.6 after the adjusted ratings.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural cada vez melhor! #Supernatural Forever
ReplyDeleteWhen I wrote that I only had a 'early ratings' post and if you read it, you'll see that they say "Chicago Fire is up week-to-week" or something like that. :)
