    This series finale was the best way to wrap up this show. I loved how Charlie was artfully woven throughout the entire show with the flashbacks between the characters. It felt like Charlie was still alive. I figured Charlie was silently relieved when Don wasn't cooperative in producing the Princeton story. Unfortunately, Charlie was too clever by half and the stress of this charade, along with Pruitt's incompetence, was too much for him to handle.

    Will and Mac are having a baby. I busted out laughing when Will asked his co-workers for tips on healthy living as he lights up a cigarette. It didn't take long for the ladies to figure out what was going on, or to spread the good news for that matter. Will may not have given a eulogy at the funeral, but he did something far more important for Charlie. Will was there for Charlie's grandsons at the wake and made himself available to the the boys if needed in the future.

    Sloan was her delighfully awkward self as usual. The mess she made of trying to explain the series of events at ACN to Will in the limo only to thrust the responsibility of the conversation on Don was typical Sloan. Then she tried to play mediator between Maggie and Jim only to mess that up as well. Poor Sloan, she really does try her best to be helpful.

    It was a lovely gesture for Charlie's wife to give Don his tie. It clearly meant a lot to Don. What was equally touching was for Don pass the tie onto Sloan while telling her Charlie wanted to her to have it. These gestures made it possible for Charlie to tell both Don and Sloan his death wasn't their fault and it will be okay. Don has really grown as a person and as a boyfriend. Speaking of character's growth, Jim took me by surprise. He not only got Maggie the D.C. field producing interview, but then Jim accepted her decision to pursue this job while he stayed at ACN. I guess Jim really does love Maggie after all.

    I hate to do this, but there was a sore spot in an otherwise perfect episode for me and that was Neal's brief appearance. Granted ACN Digital became a joke after the buyout. However, for Neal to march into the newsroom on his high horse and say directly that Bree's work was an embarrassment to him was too much. This coming from a man who can talk the talk about the journalistic integrity of protecting a source while walking the walk right out of the country to avoid the feds. I really wish we had just see him silently return to his job in a montage at the end of the show.

    I'll miss this show, but it did go out on top. Not many shows can say that.

    Great way to end a great show. You just need to open up any NEWS site to know how relevant the issue the series depicted is; and to combine that with all the interesting characters was just awesome. Well done Sorkin.

    Very good ending to The Newsroom. I'm gonna miss this show. I don't see why they couldn't continue it. The ratings weren't bad and it was very well written.

    It was a great ending. The reason why it's ending is because Aaron Sorkin chose not to do the show any more. The network wanted more but he wanted to do other things so they just ended it. I think it could have went on for a lot longer. I'm gonna miss it too.

    The Newsroom has been great and poor during its run. Great season 1. Great season 3....and then there was season 2.

    I wondered if Season 3, being the final season would pull itself back up again after last seasons debacle. It exceeded all expectations I had for it. While I LOVED season 1 and their handling of specific major stories and desperately wanted them to get back to that, I was just as much in love with the season 3 story and continuing to develop characters despite knowing they will be ending soon.
    A couple small things that disappointed me in the final was the omissions. No Elliott? No Reese? and we never get to see a scene with Neal & any of the original gang.
    It is nice to know The Newsroom is in spirit still going on. Its in the same breath sad to know we'll never get to see the way it would unfold. Mack in charge. Jim as EP and Don running Elliott as a follow up to Will just all felt like things were right.
    For a show that only had 25 episodes ever, it had a major impact on me. It opened a lot of peoples eyes to how news is presented to them. The haters might whine about the facts it chooses to present in the stories, but at the end of the day it wouldn't have needed to present these facts, if the mainstream news of the day actually had at the time instead of taking a dive for the ratings. Too bad there isn't an actual ACN out there.
    now, onto the actual episode.... I expected to cry more during it after last weeks shocking ending. But thankfully, the writers managed to balance a sad situation with moments of hope levity. The flashbacks with Charlie were so strong, so telling to what would unfold over the next 3 years in these peoples lives. It also was great when we see the scene with Leona telling Will "whos stopping you" when he says he wants to report on the news.
    I don't know a show ever that's made me go form hating to loving a character more than Leona Lansing. The way she comes in, even after losing the company, and still manages to pull the strings one more time was great. She made sure that her prize possession, even though it was not longer hers, was going into the right hands.
    Finally we see Jim grow up. I have liked his character all along, but was always aware that his major flaw was that he was a bit immature and selfish. Finally, in the end, he mans up. He gives Maggie the break she really wants.
    Seeing Don get Charlies bowtie, and then giving it to Sloan was great. It felt like this was Charlie reaching out from the grave to tell them it was not their faults & to keep fighting for what they believed in, regardless what the consequences.
    I always wondered how Mac ended up at the Northwestern talk and just happened to have that written out & ready to go. Glad they tossed in that nugget at the end. It also shined light I think on why Jenna decided to go intern at ACN. Of all the great moments in the finale, the talk between Charlie & Mac about what they both wanted might have been the best of the episode.
    Finally, I suppose talking about Will & Mac having a kid. When we heard at the end of season 2 they were engaged, I assumed the finale would be their wedding. of course, the storyline sped that up and instead, they advanced their story to the point of Mac being pregnant. It was funny to see Jeff Daniels as Will smirking like his Dumb & Dumber character in the church after Mac told him. It also was amusing to see Tess, Tamara, Kendra all clue in to what Will was saying without saying it while Martin was oblivious.
    The final scene with everyone just working away, and Will starting the broadcast felt like the right end to me. Series finales for me seem to frequently be either grand slam home runs, or epic disasters. I think The Newsroom came just short of the grand slam. Maybe a 3 run scoring triple with nobody still out. The few flaws it had were minimal.

    Really nice ending to a fantastic series. I will miss this so much! Loved the way they made Charlie the guy who set everything in motion to transform them all! Bo, Memphis song/concept, and continual Don Quixote references, and Fiona's "PR Awareness Campaign" made everything special. Thank you Aaron Sorkin for making another great series I can watch over and over again! :)

    I'm so happy Mac and Will are going to have a baby (didn't expect to find out so early in the episode but it's exciting). I fully expect they'll name their son or daughter after Charlie.

    That was a great way to wrap up the series.

    He did actually... for the most part his known to write his own shows. Even when he has a writing staff he's one of those showrunners who pretty much re-writes everything.
