I have no idea why the writers are persisting with keeping Annie and Ryan together. From what I've seen from the fandom, most people got tired of it a long time ago.
What they're doing with Annie and Auggie is what the TVD writers did with Stelena. They're making one of the characters fall so much in love with another person, that the idea of Walkerson or Stelena ever happening again is impossible because there is NO WAY that the other one in the ship (usually the guy) can have any confidence that the woman he loves actually loves him more than her previous relationship.
A part of me doesn't even want Annie and Auggie to happen now, because Annie and Ryan has been shoved down our throats like some kind of great love story. My interest in this show has been decreasing rapidly, and this just might be the final nail in the coffin.
I don't think the audience will have to put up with Ryan for much longer. Annie and Ryan declared their love for each other and that's usually the kiss of death. As soon as they said those three magic words, I thought ... It was nice knowing you Ryan while it lasted.
What frustrated me the most during this episode was Annie going off half cocked once again. Neither her or Ryan has the necessary assests at hand or on the ground to extract Belenko. What Annie should've done was to board the helicopter with Ryan when Auggie left with Decker. She should've regrouped to be better prepared to fight another day.
I actually loved this episode! I like ryan and Annie together! I like auggie with tosh too... I guess I'm just a believer in sometimes best friends don't have to end up together. The hour was action packed and had me worrying for Ryan's safety... After all saying I love you can be a bad omen on these shows.
It's just so unrealistic having Annie fall in love with a different person each season. The speed with which she apparently got over her deep love for Auggie, and then fell in love with a different guy she barely knows, is not at all believable. Especially after her claim of 'no emotional attachments'.
I honestly find McQuaid boring. Like Chris Gorham always says, Annie and Auggie are the heart of the show. That doesn't necessarily mean they have to be together all the time (I liked Annie with Eyal too), but their interactions is what keeps me coming back for more. And as they've barely even talked this season, I've only bothered to watch a handful of episodes. It's honestly just not holding my interest.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteYea but this relationship and that declaration alone backs up Ardrian's 3rd paragraph. That's how I feel too.

This is so true. I couldn´t agree more. I hope TPTB hear you somehow.
