This was a great episode but do we really think Clarke kill Finn I think it's a fake out think she stab him but not to the point he died great midseason finale
GOD THIS ISN'T GAME OF THRONES YOU DON"T JUST DO THAT TO THE MALE LEAD DAMN IT SON OF A BITCH AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So the grounders need to turn over all their warriors that mindlessly killed the 100 innocents too right? Because anything else is pretty damn hypocritical. Can we see them all put to death too? Just ridiculous ...
I never hated or loved Finn. I was apathetic until this last week and tonight's show. All of the Finn haters did something only few people have done before. Made me root for a killer. I hope none of y'all morally perfect people never have to live in a dystopian world. As for the episode, it was beautifully written and even more beautifully acted. The end scene was so heartbreaking and beautiful. It's going to haunt her for a very long time.
don't you DARE say that he thought Clarke and the 47 were there he IS NOT MURPHY ALL RIGHT!!! and that is disrespecting his memory just please don't disrespect him please i'm begging everyone damn it WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was the most likable Finn has been all series. In an episode where it was revealed he wasted 3 months of air and 17 grounders, I found that ironic. Maybe it was his willingness to admit his wrong and take responsibility for it.
Raven kind of pissed me off when she turned on Murphy wanting to turn him over in Finn's place. Murphy was a huge douche, but if I remember correctly he only killed the people who tried to kill him. I can forgive that, more-so now that he seems to have mellowed out a bit. Finn killed 17 innocent villagers including children. Raven trying to make it sound like Murphy was worse than Finn was insane. I guess I can forgive her because she was emotional.
Clarke being so hard on Murphy was baffling at first, before I realized that she really didn't have much contact with him this season. The last she saw of him he had murdered two people and tried to kill Bellamy.
The only adult worth keeping around at this point is Marcus. I've been getting bad vibes from Jaha since he returned to camp, and Abbie is just plain insufferable.
Clarke killing Finn was brilliant. All season long I felt like something was missing. The darkness that the show morphed into by the end of season one was erased by having the kids and adults reunite and the adults take control. So Clarke taking it upon herself to kill Finn to save him from being tortured was as dark as hell. This can only lead to some amzing character development.
What I didn't like? Aside from Abbie, I disliked them trying to sell me that Clarke returned Finn's feelings. I haven't felt that from her since season 1. Her admitting that she loved him tonight had me going "Really?"
Props to the writers for having the guts to kill off Finn. Many fans never gravitated to him, and he became increasingly unlikable over the course of the series. I don't think the writers realized how he was coming across to the audience, but its nice that they realized him dying wouldn't hinder the show.
Even Murphy was trying to calm him down... I liked him, really. But the dude did kill those people and even if he was "looking for his friends" that doesn't exonerate him.
I liked him... i watched The 100 all in this past two days, tbh. But he had to die.
except they're not they're hypocrites they started all of this, all the 100 did was land on the ground they were all innocent until the grounders turned them into this, the second they strung up Jasper they made this chaos and destruction on the ground
yeah i'm sorry i just get angry when people who watch the show don't see what the characters are going through and think they can actually relate to them
Are you kidding me? YES. He went BALLISTIC and MURDERED innocent villagers. There was no way out of this. He was done the minute Lexa asked Finn to be handed over.
yeah well you know the bellarke shippers are ecstatic about what just happened and if they think that bellamy and clarke will get together after Clarke just lost the love of her life then they're not okay in the head, if Finn HAD to go he should've left that part of the ground and went to find himself and come back better and alive
god i wish i could disagree but i just thought they would never go there, i mean this isn't game of thrones where they just kill people we've seen for the entirety of a series i always thought they were safe always and forever
no he wasn't, this so-called commander sent killers and butchers to kill teenagers when they did nothing but try to live peacefully they didn't star any of this it was the grounders, imagine if none of this happened no blood would've been spilled, we would still have 100 teenagers alive and well and the grounders wouldn't have lost people and they could focus on the mountain men
As a writer, I think it's better to kill a character if it helps the story than keeping it just because... no matter how likeable he/she is.
If the writers did a good job, then you must feel bad about that death. I'm really excited to see all the development this will bring to the show's characters.
Bellarke is the ship of Clarke and Bellamy? They never hinted at that on the show for it to became a thing, tbh. Like i said, i'm new to all of this xD
Well, i don't think Finn was the love of her life, i don't even think "she loved him, loved him"... She liked him, sure; but never loved him. She just told him what he needed to hear and it was beautiful.
but when you don't have an ensemble cast like heroes it's dangerous trying to create enough story but with this cast is a core cast there's not a lot of characters and there should be all safe
no Clarke Griffin was in love with Finn Collins if she wans't she wouldn't have tried like hell to protect him and it wasn't hinted fans just apparently saw it, even the creator confirmed that Clarke and Bellamy are comrades-in-arms not love interests
Oh I've never seen the show before. Sorry to disappoint you, but you're going to need to come up with a more intelligent response to disregard my opinion. Good luck with that.
I reserve judgement until i see the how the story progresses. If his death gives us good storytelling and great character develpment then his character's death would have served a prupose.
If it was just to seek impact, then i will have a problem.
She would have done the same for Bellamy, Octavia, Raven, Jasper or Monty... It's who she is. She won't leave "her" people behind.
For Clarke(And Bellamy, to some extent) , their people aren't the ones on the ark but the children who came to Earth with her. They will protect them before those in the ark.
They never intended to sell Clarke loving Finn. I will give you that Finn did love Clarke, but she didn't.
But we're talking about what he did on the village... He was a peacemaker, yet in that moment he became a cold killer. He made a choice, a bad one, and he had to face the consequences.
That doesn't discredit all the good he did on Season 1... Most of the time, good people make on single mistake that changes their life for worse...
It takes a lot to get my adrenaline racing and my heart rate elevated - it very rarely happens, even during the most intense, gripping television episodes or movies.
But tonight's episode did that effortlessly. This was incredible television. The writing was on the wall, and I knew the moment Clarke went down to see the commander that her intention was to end Finn's suffering before it began, in a humane, dignified way.
As much as I was a fan of Finns and would have loved to have seen him be spared, this was an excellent way to end the character's run. It was great to see what the guy was really like, in the way he lived to do good to others, no matter what the cost to himself was. It drove him to give Raven her spacewalk, then to take the blame, to look out for the 100 on the ground, to search for Clarke, and finally to spare the lives of both his people and the Grounders by offering to die for his sins. I'm continually amazed at how Finn's haters continue to judge him with not even one eye open, while disregarding the bigger picture. If there were more people in the world like Finn, the world would be a much better place.
Finn's death was inevitable but it was still really heartbreaking to see it all go down. But the fact that Clarke was the one that put the knife through him made it so much more tough to watch. She knew that he wasn't going to make it out alive so she made his suffering quick. This is going to change Clarke forever and hopefully will make her evolve into a true leader for the Ark people.
And oh god, the friendship that Raven and Clarke had is totally diminished. Just the look on Raven's face and seeing her break down absolutely ruined me :( She tried to do everything in her power to stop Finn from being handed over to the Grounders but it was too late. Also, it was nice to see what Finn and her's relationship was like on the Ark and why he's called "Spacewalker". Awww, he sacrificed himself to save Raven from being floated :(
It was great to see Kane escape from the Lexa and the Grounders and make it back to Camp Jaha! I was wondering where he had been these last few episodes.
I wonder since Clarke was the one that killed Finn and died in his arms and not the Grounders, will there still be a truce between them and the Ark people? I hope so because I need these two groups to team up and take Mt. Weather down.
Overall, I have so much respect for this show! The amount of risks that they take is unbelievable. This is hands down one of the most boldest shows I have ever seen on television. Can't freaking wait to see what comes next in the second half of the season.
I think I read too much spoilers about this episode, because I predicted a lot of things that happened there, but I did not expect Clarke to be the one to kill Finn. I mean it was obvious when she got the knife and went to the grounders, but I didn´t see it all along. I think it was way better for Finn to die like that, even though he didn´t deserve it.
Well,, I guess it's so long Finn, it was nice meeting you and I'm sorry to see you go. I'm also sorry this will be the last episode of the 100 I'll be watching until the summer (my winter) when I can see it as a marathon. If it's renewed for a 3Rd season I'll reevaluate my decision, but right now I'm no longer interested in a show that believes killing their leads instead of exploring them as characters, is good writing. This makes me very sad because this was my favorite show last season, but I need some distance to get some perspective. All I'll say right now is that this show is no Got and it never will be. They don't have many important characters so they cannot dispense them in the same fashion.
and what's worse it's that when they do that to characters the're basically firing the actor and jobs are hard to come by nowadays and they don't deserve that
No Mountain men! that sucks. But great ending. Now you have 10 minutes before he bleeds to death, Clarke is not stupid, she probably stab him somewhere he is not gonna die right away.
Really great episode. It was the only natural end for that character and I'm glad they did it. Most shows keep characters just because they like the actor or something (lookin at you Teen Wolf), I'm glad the story takes priority, the show really impressed me tonight.
I never actually thought Finn would die! I figured that was too obvious, but you've got to admire a show that warns you a week in advance of the episode's outcome and still manages to surprise you.
He's dead. if you think that he didn't because his corpse opened his eyes in the promo, remember that happened while Lexa was saying "haunt you for the rest of your life". so I'm pretty sure that was Clarke's PTSD.
I have to say that the grounders defend themselves abou something unknown they have every right, after all they all been haunted by the mountain men and being used as guinea pigs. They only know how to survive. Finn Killed 18 people because he was lookign for a girl not even caring about the others, he sad so himself, all he cared was Clarke.
I do think the truce will stand. The Commander said "It is done" as her people were ready to charge Clarke in the aftermath. I'd even venture to say that the move won some respect for Clarke because she did something she absolutely did not want to do. In killing Finn, she both gave "blood for blood" AND saved him from excruciating torture. I expect a Grounder would act much the same in a similar circumstance.
I keep waiting for Clarke to give them a what for. Like "you couldn't have come up to us and said Hi? You just HAD to impale my friend and hang him up as bait?"
This was awesome. So glad Finn took responsibility and Clark got to do it. Not that I want Finn Dead (love the character) but, it showed a maturity in the show writing that lacks on a lot of others. Gods above and below that was gripping!
I can READ and use common sense. I often look at these posts to see what people are saying about certain shows, and sometimes I go to their tumblr pages.
As horrible as it was for Finn to massacre all those innocent people (and it was HORRIBLE, in that moment I didn't recognize him), he was still one of the good guys. If anyone deserved a chance at redemption it was him, who always tried to do what was best for everyone, specially those he cared about. I would have loved to see him get past this, but then again I'm always rooting for redemption rather than just plain death.
I agree with Clarke, he did kill those people, but he wasn't the only one who has killed innocent bystanders. She killed people, Murphy has killed people, Bellamy has, the Grounders have. If the Grounders were punishing death then thy should have killed pretty much everyone.
Still, I do see why he had to die, and I'm not talking about the writers killing him off. The way the show's been established, the Grounders wouldn't care if they were right or wrong, they would just have their way because that's who they are and who they've always been. The moment they asked for Finn I knew he was a dead man. So I'm glad Clarke is the one that got to do it. He deserved at least that.
I may not have liked Finn dying, but I understand it happening, and I loved the way the story was executed, on the ground and in the flashbacks. It was beautifully done. So as far as exits go it was a good one. It made me cry, that's always a good thing in my book.
God stop calling him that, what he wasn't allowed to have a breaking point? he's not a cold-blooded murderer killer like murphy, it pained him with what happened, you're all treating him like if he was always murphy
But he did killed. and I havent forgotten what Mutphy did. He was a bully and he had it hard. But he changed¿? (im still not sure about that).... Dont you think that Finn deserved the same treatment?. Either by the hands of the Ark people or The grounders he was gonna pay for what he had done. I was expecting a last minute saving after a huge beat up like Murphy but it didnt happen.
When I said Finn was going to die in the finale many people said it is too obvious! The fact that The 100 went through with the death shows that this is not any type of show. Actions have consequences. Charlotte killed Wells. Charlotte had to die (she was only 12). Finn killed innocents. Finn had to die. The 100 is not ur typical CW show where in the end the hero will be saved. Great Finale!
Sadly yes, let's face it Ivan, I loved him too, because I love Thomas, he's a crazy pretty dude who knows how to act, and even when the character was absolutely congruent (from my perception), a lot of people didn't like him, so the writers had to cut him off, and as they usually do with actors they actually like, they let him go as a martyr, showing to the audience that he was great, that he only made a mistake, and still he was punished as the greatest sinner of all, that sounds biblical, but that's how this is, now I hope Thomas gets a better part in some other show or movie, he deserves it.
I glad the show isn't backing away to do stuff cause of shippers. Either way I was surprised how things went down. The 2nd half should be quiet interesting.
Even if most people saw FInn's death coming it was still devastating to watch. Dramatically it was an excellent move to have Calrke give him mercy kill (and Raven giving her the knife was the moment when I finally believed he would really die, from this moment I was suere Clarke will do it but it only made it more heartbreaking from there). I'm very curious where will Clarke go from here. I loved the flashbacks, they gave more impact to Raven's reaction to the whole situation. But I don't completely buy Bellamy in this one. I get that he respects Finn, considers him one of his own, maybe even likes him in a way, but Bellamy being the first to say, thatt they won't even consider Lexa's deal and calling it insane didn't sound believable to me. I know he is not the same person, who allowed to hang Murphy anymore, but still near the end of last season he was ready to execute him after Murphy found his way back to the camp - just in case, then recently he agreed to leave Melany to(probably) die so they could continue to look for Clarke and others. He was always more level-headed, had more "practical" approach than Clarke and was ready to make hard and muddy choices. I feel it would be more in character for him to be disgusted by the proposal but actually give it a thought. Not jus blindly go with the stupiud plan to go to the dropship, which just couldn't be succesful and put everyone in the camp in danger too. Trying to make him into this type of hero really looks like personality transplant and I'm not sure I like it.
Its a different watching experience now. I just care less what happens to whomever. Or what will happen to plot wise, I watch on because I rarely drop a show, I have to finish what I started. I have so far only dropped 3 shows.
You don't understand. Clarke killed warriors armed and ready to kill. Finn killed unarmed civilians. I know during war this doesn't matter but even soldiers have a moral code. Finn killed innocents.
If it comes to that then they should . If you can't take the intensity of the show then too bad. Maybe you should stick to the Disney channel? Or Hallmark ?
So sad, the moment Raven gave Clarke the knife I knew what was going to happen. It was clear that they did not let die Finn the way Lincoln described it. For the first time I wish J.R. had not the ambition to be more than a teenage show. Even if it fits the story, I will mourn that loss of Finn's character. So I am one of those who is not that eager for the show to return in January because my favorite character is dead. Season 1 was about Bellamy's journey, first part of season 2 about Finn, and second part about Clarke as the the producer said in an interview. Well, I am not that thrilled at the moment, still in shock. How will they attract new viewers if they kill of the main cast? But that is not my thing to worry about, I just have to decide if I was entertained by that episode and I was not.
thought it was a great episode, I'm glad that they decided to kill him story wise. I think from the beginning The 100 has been separating itself from the typical CW show (not that i dont LOVE the typical cw show lol), so i think killing the potential main male love interest 21 episodes into the show just reminds me that this show is really marching to the beat of its own drum(mer?). Not that i don't love Vampire Diaries but god damn that love triangle went on/has gone on forever, love that the 100 is like "lets kill the main love interest"
I didn't say noting about can't taking it. It was nearly a side comment to others views. I personally liked this episode and if Finn had to die this episode did it well for him. As I said in my makn comment.
OMG! This episode was truly emotional!! That last scene!! :( I wasn't even a Finn fan but I'm actually shaking and really upset about what happened and how it happened!! :'(
Okay regaining my composure. A few observations ...
1) Before the episode, with all the rumours, I thought the ''space walker'' was meant to allude to Raven (because it was speculated Finn took the fall for her as it has now been proven).
2) As much as a jerk Finn became (for me personally) after episode 5 of last season, when we find out he was a lying, cheating jerk and his mental shooting spree this season, I think, at least after having scene glimpses of season 1 Finn, that he is sort of redeemed now and met a heroic end.
3) This episode as kind of awesome because of the 5 ''kids'' taking charge because the adults are still stupid and also the fact that they had each other's backs ... they've been to hell and back together and they aren't going to let some adults push them around.
4) The episode was also intense, and I truly did not expect to be tearing up for Finn! Till the last minute I thought Clarke would kill Lexa but when she hugged him, I knew what was happening :'(
5) After the mercy killing, I thought Clarke would kill herself, but she'll take a while to recover from this.
I do think that this was the best way forward story wise, it was truly sad, and I hope the Finn fans don't go abandoning the show because that would be a true tragedy! I knew this show was crazy good, but today it was crazy emotional! :-(
I just have to say one thing, characters aren't bigger than the show itself. If tomorrow, any of my favourites had to die - and for a moment I really thought Clarke would die - I would still tune in to see where the story goes.
It's been a long time since I cried at the death of a tv character. I don't even like Finn and I thought he deserved to die yet I cried at the last scene. Oh poor Clarke, Raven and everyone else. There was no other way. At least Clarke gave him a dignified death instead of torture. When he was tied up on that pole after a long time I felt he was a 17 year old teenager. He looked so scared. Raven and Clarke's friendship is done now.
This was a really solid episode. I am glad they did not go the redemption way for Finn. This is not TVD where any murderer gets revamped into a hero. Finn was a very good guy.. a little impulsive maybe but a good character who snapped and did a horrible thing. In any war there will be soldiers tried and punished for war crimes. PTSD or no PTSD there will be consequences for one's actions. Now Murphy needs to get his due too.
I couldn't be happier with how this went. Or, surprisingly, sadder. Finn's death was poignant, as giving himself up gave him a moment to reclaim who he wanted to be, even if he'd gone too far to go back to that. And the "I'm scared" was a great, honest moment and made what Clarke did bittersweet - having to kill the person she loved but saving him from torture at the same time. She did what was best for her people and what was best for Finn at the same time, at the cost of some part of herself, and it was a great character moment for her. And in spite of the fact that this was the outcome I'd hoped for - because given other characters dying or Finn dying, I'd still pick Finn now - I felt a little sad that Finn had to die. Which I can credit to the writers - they gave him a great exit.
I can't wait to see the fallout from here. Clarke and Raven's relationship from here on out is going to take turn for the worse certainly; how it will impact both characters, and Murphy and Bellamy; will Abby still be able to see her daughter as a kid now that she's seen her do this? How much longer will the adults lead like this before the Bellamy/Clarke leadership starts pushing at them? I feel like the grounders already respect Clarke as more of a leader than Abby, and I want to see where that goes. But how strong will that group be after what Clarke has done? Will everyone still follow her; has she gained or lost respect with what she's done? And how will the war with Mt. Weather play out, and will they be in time to save the rest of the 100, or will they maybe save themselves? Will the peace hold long enough to win, or will it become a one on one on one melee type of situation? And how will Octavia and Lincoln's relationship change post-reaper and post-peace agreement? There is so much that this episode has set in motion, both in terms of the coming war and in terms of character development, and I'm looking forward to the next part of the season so much.
I know the grounders aren't stupid but Abby could've slip Clarke or Finn something to stop his heart for couple of minutes so the grounders can see that he dead hurry up get his body inject him so his heart can start beating give him fake funeral because there is a drug that can stop your heart for couple of minutes that's all I was saying but I do think he really dead
You become an actor, you get that acting jobs don't last forever - it's in the job description of an actor. And seriously - chill, it's just a tv show, you don't like it you stop watching and move on to something else!!!! Personally I love what they're doing with the show and how they're not pushing down our throats romantic relationships (even though I ship Bellarke :D ). This show is so much different from all the other shows - it's epic and everytime I think it can't get any better it does!!!
No you don't understand. The 100 WERE innocents. They were kids. The grounders have no moral code. Let's not forget Jasper who took a spear to the gut for crossing the river. Or hung on the cross to die. Or the 100 that took an axe to the head running for their life when the grounders were stalking the 100. The virus they sent to kill and weaken their prey so they could swoop in and kill them all easily.
I just don't get how people can argue that the grounders are so moral and deserve justice. They showed the 100 no mercy and yet they should get mercy and justice after all they did?
Finn killed grounders in the same situation where the grounders killed 100. Unarmed, running for their lives. Where is the justice for the 100 that were slaughtered?
Wow. Calm down, please. Everyone gets to have their own opinion. I'm sorry a favorite character of yours died, I know it sucks from a lot of prior experience, but that doesn't mean you get to jump on everyone else just because they don't feel the same way. Express your own opinion in return, sure, but trying to censor other people and tell they can't say what they think because they don't agree with you is rude.
I don't mind writers killing off characters. I don't like the blinders that seemed to appear and paint Finn as a bad guy before killing him off. The grounders are not good people. They had no right to demand Finn for justice because by the same stick they should be judged and many of them put to death as well. Why are the 100 (and by extension Ark residents) not demanding the same? I watched in season 1 the grounders do evil and wrong at every turn to the 100 and now they are good and upstanding and deserve justice? That's bad writing. Both sides have blood on their hands, innocent blood, but Finn bore that innocent blood a hell of a lot later than the grounders and by rights had a lot more reason to wear it than the grounders ever did.
When you have an entire episode full of flashbacks on two main characters, you know who will be kicking the bucket at the end! That and the episode title gave it away for me.When raven gave clarke that knife/scalpel,i really thought she was going to kill lexa for a moment but when i saw clarke's face when she asked to say goobye,i knew exactly what's going to happen.Nevertheless,it was tragic and gut-wrenching! What i love about this show is that even though sometimes the twists are a bit predictable like this episode, they execute it such a unique and unorthodox way-it makes the watch worthwhile! I can't wait to see raven-clarke confrontation or how it's going to affect clarke moving forward!Brilliant episodes, one of the best written shows on-air at present IMHO!
I'm freaking in love with this show! Is sooooooo good! Can't believe only a few people watch it!
I love how they kill characters without remorse, how everyone is set up with a task(so you don't have characters floating 'cause you don't know what to do with them)...
It kind of reminded me a bit to my books, tbh. I really loved this show. I watched it in two days xD
I never experienced the death of one of my favorite characters, so my reaction is new to me, but I agree with you. The killed the one guy who had always hope in an otherwise cruel world. So sad that they sent Finn down that road. Even though it is just a tv show, I am amazed how sad I am and quite resentful. I hope Raven kills somebody close to Clarke, and I don't even like Raven. Cruelty and violence sells these days on TV, but it was a bold move from the writers, it might backfire because it is still a CW show with a teenage audience. I have to admit that one character does not make a show, but for me Finn held the group together and now they all more split up then ever. I will look at the ratings in January, I am curious if this will affect the ratings, but won't watch it.
Eliza confirmed in several interviews that Clarke loved Finn, that this is the core of her story arc for the rest of season 2 how she copes with the guilt. Why cannot that be?
I knew Finn had to die for the things he did and i knew it was going to happen soon, but I still couldn't mentally prepare myself for it. Finn was there from the beginning with The 100 and he was the one trying to make peace when everyone else just wanted to go to war. Finn didn't want anyone else to die and I loved that about him.
Then in Season 2 he turned dark and yes I know he did terrible things but I still think he is a good person at heart. He is an extremely flawed character but also complex. He murdered a village of people and knew he had to pay for what he did. Instead of running from the problem and letting his people die for his mistake he turned himself in. He knew it was his time to die and I think that was brave of him to sacrifice himself. Plenty of the fans hated him and wanted him dead but in the end I truly liked Finn. Watching his story was torture, and in the end heartbreaking, but I will miss him.
The 100 is one of my favorite shows and without Finn in it there will always be a void that cannot be filled by any other character. Whether or not you wanted Finn dead, you cannot argue that it was a heartbreaking scene to watch. May we meet again, Finn. You will be missed.
I am so glad when someone discovers The 100. So many strong female characters in power positions. I have never seen a show which has this many powerful female characters.
All the characters are developed so well. Looking back to first episode everyone of them has changed drastically in a short period yet it all happened organically. Every one of them is well developed except for Monty. I love when they kill people in this show because every death serves a purpose rather than shock value. This show is an asset to The CW.
the pace of the storyline is catching up on the writing. But it is still very easy to overlook small timeline issues. I was afraid they were not going to - there was just no other way to end this situation. Never liked him but man it was very well done and I shed a few tears.
They are hardly criminals. Charlotte wasn't a sicko. She was a traumatized little girl that tried to fix what was broken inside her after she'd watched her parents murdered.
Maybe she thought what she feels was or really wanted it to be love but it didn't look like it. She cared of course, like she always does when it comes to the 100. When everthing collapsed on her, so many deaths, open war, her mother betrayal, best friend murdered and so on I don't blame her for "loving" Finn. She needed someone close and there he was.
Yeah, i'm quite curious for Monty... Him and Jasper are the least developed characters on the show. Here hoping they get more to do after hiatus when they(if everything works out) return with their friends.
This is it. The 100 is the sci-fi version of GoT. Seriously, loved the episode. It's not only that they killed Finn it is that Clarke did it, out of mercy... oh my god! I cried and shouted and as a whole I was truly shocked. This is such a great show. I love how it is not afraid of going to dark places.
And the feels... they are so intense. This show should be getting 2s regularly in the ratings
He was my favorite too, and tho this was a good episode. A day later I'm kind of feeling it, thinking to myself I can care less what happens moving forward, If I watch it will just be to finish it. That Hope feeling has left me.
That's how most UK shows are, but for me its the Characters, then the Story. If I don't feel hopeful in that tv world I can care less about the story post my POV character dies.
I have to disagree with you on that, without the characters you don't have a show. You may a have a really great story to tell, but without the right people to carry it, you have absolutely nothing. However this has nothing to do with Finn as Finn, but with Finn as a lead character. I would be saying this, and taking a break, had any of the other leads died, specially Clarke who is my favourite. I know GoT raised things to a new standard, no one is safe, no one is indispesable, but as much as I like this show, it's not and it will never be GoT and it can't afford to keep on dropping lead characters, it won't survive it. I've decided I'm giving up on shows that think they can drop leads like flies, except GoT who can get away with it, specially for nothing, as next episodes promo lead us to think. I'll watch when it's over, and if it gets another season I'll reevaluate my dicission, but for now farewell The 100.
why some people calling the grounders hypocrites when the 100 also the same . they sent 100 children/criminals to ground thinking it not survivable but hoping it was. the 100 or arkers seem like they don't appreciate life. yes Finn wanted peace and still does with the help of Lincoln that when we met Anya. Anya people believes that the sky people started it the war by being on there turf, by taking lincoln hostage by using the flairs to get there people in space to see they are still alive but it hit a village when it landed, they (the grounders) call it a missile or so they thought. after that there was war. then mountains man joins now they know they can used the 47 of them bone morrow to survive outside. the grounders and sky people needs to work together because they both fighting 2 wars.
finn death was sad but he did shot them when the grounders was willing do what he said while he search. only seems like only 2 warriors was there one was a child the other holding the others from running away. the elder was running away not towards finn but finn kill him the child seem to running towards finn. everyone else was going crazy. murphy was the one try to stop him but other like Clarke claims it wasn't good enough. Now if roles was reverse the sky people will want there revenge too if the grounders came in attack them by just killing elders and children. will you consider that they should get there revenge. also some arkers deaths was due to each other, some with climate and doing war. i will say the 100 and the grounders is consider both hypocrites and this is my opinions overall this episode was great. i kinda do wish was another way to save finn
But I think there is a double standard in you accepting such a thing on GoT and not on The 100 just because it seems Finn is your favourite character. The 100 is very under-rated and I feel it is the CW's GoT - it's got great quality writing and acting and a vision. My favourite characters on GoT have been biting the dust, one after the other, Season 1, 3, 4 ... it's been heartbreaking and gut wrenching, but the show must go on ... and that is when the other characters (who may not have been the main character earlier on) bring it home! A show has to do with the narrative of it's story and while yes, characters bring that out alive, sometimes, however much unfortunate, it is with their deaths that the narrative gets pushed forward. For example, Well's death ... was it necessary? no (and he is a main character in the book), but did it give us good episodes? yes! Not only did we get an excellent episode 4, it helped set up Clarke and Bellamy as peers and co-leaders, set up Murphy's arc of being thrown out and later coming in as a snake as well as set up Jaha's personal story on the Ark ... which all culminated with him hallucinating Wells this season who's memory eventually pushed Jaha to make his trip back to Earth. Well, at least this is my opinion.
True characters do make the story, but their deaths can also push the narrative forward - if done well. I think Well's death set up some great story telling. Also, for example - and I know I'm giving a book example, I didn't stop reading Harry Potter when my favourite character died in book 5 ... I was still very much invested in the world.
see that's why you're ecstatic about what happened you now have hope for your ship and if you think after what just happened it'll happen that's insane
Depends on the type of main pov characters the main characters and sub mains. Its different for each genre and context. Like I said in some of my other comments, I'm not going to stop watching. This show just had a blurred line of who were the ensemble main characters, by now we all know its basically the females and Bellamy and some staple characteristic characters like Monty & Jasper. Anyway we can't do nothing now, time to just wait till its back. Till then no more comments. I think!
Amazing! This show gets better and better...I'm torn regarding this episode. I never was a big Finn fan but I still don't think he deserved to die. War is ugly and everyone do ugly things. None of them have a clean conscience. It seems as if you love Clarke you are bound to die. (See Wells and Finn). The mercy killing was the right thing to do since there was no way to save Finn without Clarke dying herself and many of the Sky people with her. In the end, Kane was right. They would all die along with Finn. I'm still going to miss him. They needed a peace keeper among them. Rest in Peace Finn!
for the love of... yes I ship Bellarke, but the show is awesome even without them as a romantic couple. So if they never become one I'll survive and still watch the show. Finn's character was boring, his only skill was that he could track and the rest was him behaving like a saint - which no one is. His death will bring so many interesting plot lines that I am happy that he's gone, cause the show can grow so much more from this. And seriously - it's only a TV show, if you don't like it, stop watching it instead of attacing eveyone that has an opposite opinion to yours. Don't take this the wrong way (if you do - I do appologise in advance) - get a life, based on the number of comments you made on this, you're focusing way too much on this. Hope you'll have a nice day!!! :)
I want Ward around forever. He's completely insane and is a thousand times more interesting than when he was clean-cut Ward of season one. I mean, I think he's evil, and seeing Skye shoot him without hesitating or breaking her stride was awesome and totally badass, but he's a fun, crazy, unpredictable opponent for the team; between him and Cal, there is just so much to love on the darker side of SHIELD this year. I just love that I have no idea what he's going to do now - is he still in love with Skye? Is he still going to help the team? Does he think he has to be harsher or more persistent with Skye now? Or has he completely flipped and decided to just be anti-SHIELD entirely now? I don't know, and I love that.
Sorry, just saying. I basically never want Skye and Ward back together ever again - although never say never on a Whedon show, I could be eating my words after his awesome redemption story in a couple seasons, assuming we get any more seasons - but while I hated him as a love interest and the whole "it's not his fault" thing drives me nuts, as villain, I'm totally into Ward.
I've never been a big Finn fan, especially after the massacre. After getting a flashback of his life on the Arc and finding out that he sacrificed himself for Raven, I knew he'd do it again. In all actuality, it's what I wanted him to do before I watched the episode. He needed to redeem himself by giving himself over to the Grounders for the good of his people. I wasn't expecting Clarke to kill him and I'm not sure if he is dead, but it was merciful and beautifully written. I teared up. The 100 is by far my favorite show right now. Spacewalker was an awesome episode and I can't wait to see what happens next.
What is with the CW and killing characters I love in the midseason finales? The 100: Finn Arrow: Oliver (I know that he's coming back but still!) TVD: Liz is dying The Flash: OK no main character died but the whole episode was about Nora's death and some police officers were killed. JTV: The grandmother is supposedly dead. The Originals: I haven't seen it yet but I'm assuming at least one character died.
Well, to be honest, The 100 for me is sort of the show that I've wanted to see for a long time ... set in an apocalyptic future, different types of clans and a whole lot of stories to tell ... so I suppose I'm a little passionate about it! I suppose if tomorrow, another of the main cast were to die (which I wouldn't put it past them), I would still come back to see the consequences. Believe me when I say this, I think Finn's death is going to leave a void for me ... I was still pretty upset about it last night! But I truly hope that for the story it does serve some purpose as we move on. Let's hope you do come back to the show and that you enjoy it. Here's to good television! :)
I rated the episode awesome. Good on Bell, Clarke and Raven doing what friends are supposed to do and having Finn's back whether he was wrong or not (which he was) the way true friends are supposed to, even though they were wrong in denying the Grounders' justice.
I understand why Finn did what he did, but that doesn't mean he was entitled to forgiveness. He massacred unarmed villagers, some of whom were children. He thought they had hurt Clarke, fine, but he still did it. It's like how we don't hold soldiers responsible for the deaths of a warring nation's soldiers on the battlefield, but if they rolled into some village and started terrorizing its inhabitants, they'd be punished.
This is why even though the Grounders hate what Clarke did to a way higher number of their people, they haven't tried to punish her for it. In my book, their logic is reasonable. Now their method of torture falls under the heading of 'cruel and unusual punishment', but they lead harsh lives. Ain't nobody got time for mercy or doling out punishments that didn't have enough weight to curb the desire to break the law and threaten people's safety. Kind of like how the only punishments I ever hear about having been given to people over 18 are people getting floated.
Finn got off easy by Clarke ending it herself, and I'm okay with that. Like I said, the Grounders' methods are cruel and unusual. But I'm not fond of the temporary insanity plea as a defense against a massacre. He's 18, since the space walk was a year ago, a week after Raven's birthday, and she's 19 now, and I'm pretty sure he would have gotten the death penalty no matter what court he ended up in.
WOW, that's how brave the writers are! It's so exciting to watch a show that's showing us it'll not spare its major characters (no matter how'll feel about it) and will put the whole story first. Some people are saying Finn is not dead and I hope they're all wrong. As long as they go there and kill people I like in the right way (as GOT and TWD usually do), I'm fine with it.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This was a great episode but do we really think Clarke kill Finn I think it's a fake out think she stab him but not to the point he died great midseason finale
ReplyDeleteI was on the Grounder's side for this one. He was guilty of shooting unarmed people. But I wasn't expecting Clarke to be the one to do it.
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletehow could you, you forgive Ward but not Finn
ReplyDeleteGOD THIS ISN'T GAME OF THRONES YOU DON"T JUST DO THAT TO THE MALE LEAD DAMN IT SON OF A BITCH AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think you lose the pacifist title when you murder a bunch of people.
ReplyDeletedid you EVER like Finn is that why you're saying this or are you one of those bellarke shippers which means you're ecstatic about what just happened
ReplyDeletedid she at least say "I Love You"
ReplyDeleteSo the grounders need to turn over all their warriors that mindlessly killed the 100 innocents too right? Because anything else is pretty damn hypocritical. Can we see them all put to death too? Just ridiculous ...
ReplyDeleteWard and Finn are completely different situations and people need to stop comparing them. LOL, I can be a fan of one and not the other.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, Finn's not really a pacifist after he murdered so many people and then tried to pull the "It was an accident!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" card.
Yes, she told him she loved him, too.
ReplyDeletedamn it doesn't make it easier thought it would AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletehe had a breaking point they all will and the grounder are hypocrites they tried and did kill over 84 teenagers
ReplyDeleteI never hated or loved Finn. I was apathetic until this last week and tonight's show. All of the Finn haters did something only few people have done before. Made me root for a killer. I hope none of y'all morally perfect people never have to live in a dystopian world.
ReplyDeleteAs for the episode, it was beautifully written and even more beautifully acted. The end scene was so heartbreaking and beautiful. It's going to haunt her for a very long time.
thank you, hypocritical bastards screw the alliance they need to destroy every single grounder
ReplyDeletefor the rest of her life more like
ReplyDeleteAwww! This is my first The 100 "live" episode! Well, he deserved to die. His intentions may be good, but he had to held resposible for his actions.
ReplyDeleteHe did kill 18 unarmed elders, children and womans in cold blood... It wasn't about surviving or war... I t was killing for the sake of killing.
don't you DARE say that he thought Clarke and the 47 were there he IS NOT MURPHY ALL RIGHT!!! and that is disrespecting his memory just please don't disrespect him please i'm begging everyone damn it WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou need to calm the hell down. He deserved this. He needed to pay for his crimes.
ReplyDeleteThat was the most likable Finn has been all series. In an episode where it was revealed he wasted 3 months of air and 17 grounders, I found that ironic. Maybe it was his willingness to admit his wrong and take responsibility for it.
ReplyDeleteRaven kind of pissed me off when she turned on Murphy wanting to turn him over in Finn's place.
When the Grounders are actually making sense, you know the situation must be truly f'd up.
ReplyDeleteWatch the promo, he opens his eyes and looks at Clarke as they are carrying is "dead" body away. I'm not sure he's dead.
ReplyDeleteEven Murphy was trying to calm him down... I liked him, really. But the dude did kill those people and even if he was "looking for his friends" that doesn't exonerate him.
ReplyDeleteI liked him... i watched The 100 all in this past two days, tbh. But he had to die.
People hated Finn? I'm new to the fandom... I watched the whole series in this past two days.
ReplyDeleteexcept they're not they're hypocrites they started all of this, all the 100 did was land on the ground they were all innocent until the grounders turned them into this, the second they strung up Jasper they made this chaos and destruction on the ground
ReplyDeleteYes they do. I didn't care about him one way or the other, until now.
ReplyDeleteoh sorry i thought you were a long-time viewer i'm sorry that i yelled at you
ReplyDeleteBellamy is the priority lead not Finn, his not even in the books.
ReplyDeleteYou hurt my feelings... :(
ReplyDeletewhy because he wasn't a Bellamy and picked up a gun in season 1, all he wanted was peace and the ground destryoed him
ReplyDeleteyeah i'm sorry i just get angry when people who watch the show don't see what the characters are going through and think they can actually relate to them
ReplyDeleteWell, he went bananas for a reason... The grounders pushed him to be that way. I really liked him.
ReplyDeleteYet, i still think he had to die. No matter what, he made a mistake(a HUGE one) and the retaliation would be huge. He was gonna die anyhow.
he's credited first and chloe sullivan in Smallvile was never in the comics and was the female lead so book and television don't compare anymore
ReplyDeletewhat would happen if you were there would you want the same thing
ReplyDeleteno you're making it sound like he was just exactly like murphy all along not during the village
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me? YES. He went BALLISTIC and MURDERED innocent villagers. There was no way out of this. He was done the minute Lexa asked Finn to be handed over.
ReplyDeleteHe is dead. That's going to be a hallucination that haunts her. The writers are already tweeting about him being truly dead.
ReplyDeleteBilling credits are not a thing, tbh. Not the case of The 100, but if a character isn't working you don't keep it just because it's credited first.
ReplyDeleteShows change; Shows are fluid. Just saying.
yeah well you know the bellarke shippers are ecstatic about what just happened and if they think that bellamy and clarke will get together after Clarke just lost the love of her life then they're not okay in the head, if Finn HAD to go he should've left that part of the ground and went to find himself and come back better and alive
ReplyDeletegod i wish i could disagree but i just thought they would never go there, i mean this isn't game of thrones where they just kill people we've seen for the entirety of a series i always thought they were safe always and forever
ReplyDeleteno he wasn't, this so-called commander sent killers and butchers to kill teenagers when they did nothing but try to live peacefully they didn't star any of this it was the grounders, imagine if none of this happened no blood would've been spilled, we would still have 100 teenagers alive and well and the grounders wouldn't have lost people and they could focus on the mountain men
ReplyDeleteI don't think Clarke loved Finn. I never bought that. I think she cared for him. She told Finn exactly what he needed to hear in his last moments.
ReplyDeleteAs a writer, I think it's better to kill a character if it helps the story than keeping it just because... no matter how likeable he/she is.
ReplyDeleteIf the writers did a good job, then you must feel bad about that death. I'm really excited to see all the development this will bring to the show's characters.
Bellarke is the ship of Clarke and Bellamy? They never hinted at that on the show for it to became a thing, tbh. Like i said, i'm new to all of this xD
ReplyDeleteWell, i don't think Finn was the love of her life, i don't even think "she loved him, loved him"... She liked him, sure; but never loved him. She just told him what he needed to hear and it was beautiful.
but when you don't have an ensemble cast like heroes it's dangerous trying to create enough story but with this cast is a core cast there's not a lot of characters and there should be all safe
ReplyDeleteno Clarke Griffin was in love with Finn Collins if she wans't she wouldn't have tried like hell to protect him and it wasn't hinted fans just apparently saw it, even the creator confirmed that Clarke and Bellamy are comrades-in-arms not love interests
ReplyDeleteOh I've never seen the show before. Sorry to disappoint you, but you're going to need to come up with a more intelligent response to disregard my opinion. Good luck with that.
ReplyDeletewell then why comment on a show you've never seen
ReplyDeletestill i don't like getting mad at people over a misunderstanding, i'm still sorry honestly or even at all
ReplyDeleteNeither was most of the characters.
ReplyDeleteI reserve judgement until i see the how the story progresses. If his death gives us good storytelling and great character develpment then his character's death would have served a prupose.
ReplyDeleteIf it was just to seek impact, then i will have a problem.
She would have done the same for Bellamy, Octavia, Raven, Jasper or Monty... It's who she is. She won't leave "her" people behind.
ReplyDeleteFor Clarke(And Bellamy, to some extent) , their people aren't the ones on the ark but the children who came to Earth with her.
ReplyDeleteThat doesn't discredit all the good he did on Season 1... Most of the time, good people make on single mistake that changes their life for worse...
It takes a lot to get my adrenaline racing and my heart rate elevated - it very rarely happens, even during the most intense, gripping television episodes or movies.
ReplyDeleteBut tonight's episode did that effortlessly.
I expected Finn death, but I not expect Clarke killing him, that was a good move by the writers.
ReplyDeleteAwesome midseason finale!
ReplyDeleteFinn's death was inevitable but it was still really heartbreaking to see it all go down.
Can't freaking wait to see what comes next in the second half of the season.
oh ok
ReplyDeleteoh yeah good point
ReplyDeletewell we'll agree to disagree because the creator confirmed that Clarke is in love with Finn
ReplyDeleteI would love to believe the same, but it looked pretty much real.
ReplyDeletebut you're making it sound like haw a cold-blooded killer for the entire series when you said that he "was killing for the sake of killing"
ReplyDeleteI'm done with this show.
ReplyDeleteyou got that right, peacemakers barely exist anymore
ReplyDeletesame here
ReplyDeletescrew that alliance the grounders need to die
ReplyDeleteI think I read too much spoilers about this episode, because I predicted a lot of things that happened there, but I did not expect Clarke to be the one to kill Finn. I mean it was obvious when she got the knife and went to the grounders, but I didn´t see it all along. I think it was way better for Finn to die like that, even though he didn´t deserve it.
ReplyDeleteWell,, I guess it's so long Finn, it was nice meeting you and I'm sorry to see you go.
ReplyDeletevery good point
ReplyDeleteand what's worse it's that when they do that to characters the're basically firing the actor and jobs are hard to come by nowadays and they don't deserve that
ReplyDeleteOMG Clarke what what ?!!
ReplyDeleteNo Mountain men! that sucks.
ReplyDeleteBut great ending. Now you have 10 minutes before he bleeds to death, Clarke is not stupid, she probably stab him somewhere he is not gonna die right away.
I don't know, the actors are saying goodbye to Thomas on twitter, I think this is it, for real.
ReplyDeleteReally great episode. It was the only natural end for that character and I'm glad they did it. Most shows keep characters just because they like the actor or something (lookin at you Teen Wolf), I'm glad the story takes priority, the show really impressed me tonight.
ReplyDeleteThey are?... Im gonna need some aftershock interview or something.
ReplyDeleteI never actually thought Finn would die! I figured that was too obvious, but you've got to admire a show that warns you a week in advance of the episode's outcome and still manages to surprise you.
ReplyDeleteA well done episode for end of Finn, Clarke and Raven's story. I'm sad, Finn was my favorite. Last moment was great.
ReplyDeleteA bit of me still has hope...
He's dead. if you think that he didn't because his corpse opened his eyes in the promo, remember that happened while Lexa was saying "haunt you for the rest of your life". so I'm pretty sure that was Clarke's PTSD.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that the grounders defend themselves abou something unknown they have every right, after all they all been haunted by the mountain men and being used as guinea pigs.
ReplyDeleteThey only know how to survive.
Finn Killed 18 people because he was lookign for a girl not even caring about the others, he sad so himself, all he cared was Clarke.
i havent seen the promo yet. I will do that now.
ReplyDeleteAfter last week episode that was the first think I though of in my head.
ReplyDeleteI do think the truce will stand.
ReplyDeleteYep. This is from the guy who plays Monty
ReplyDeleteChristopher Larkin @clarkinlarkin 3h3 hours agoLos Angeles, CA
Only have one thing to say tonight. @ThomasMcDonell: Looked up to you as Finn. Looked up to you in life. Good luck out there. #The100
no Finn has a lot more story to his character he
ReplyDeletehe's dead. aside from haunting people from Beyond the grave and the occasional flashback, I don't see him contributing much in the future -_-
ReplyDeleteYou think the grounders won't check before sending the body back? they're not stupid.
ReplyDeleteI keep waiting for Clarke to give them a what for. Like "you couldn't have come up to us and said Hi? You just HAD to impale my friend and hang him up as bait?"
ReplyDeleteThis was awesome. So glad Finn took responsibility and Clark got to do it. Not that I want Finn Dead (love the character) but, it showed a maturity in the show writing that lacks on a lot of others. Gods above and below that was gripping!
ReplyDeleteto be fair, they thhought they were being invaded. But they could have just come up and asked "Hey guys, this is our turf, do you mind moving?"
ReplyDeleteThe 100 is now going to be like watching Season 4 of Homeland without Brody.
ReplyDeleteAs an aside; any one else think Finn somehow is not dead?
ReplyDeletei know i just can't bring myself to say the words okay
ReplyDeleteI can READ and use common sense. I often look at these posts to see what people are saying about certain shows, and sometimes I go to their tumblr pages.
ReplyDeleteAmen. Couldn't have said it better myself.
ReplyDeleteAs horrible as it was for Finn to massacre all those innocent people (and it was HORRIBLE, in that moment I didn't recognize him), he was still one of the good guys. If anyone deserved a chance at redemption it was him, who always tried to do what was best for everyone, specially those he cared about. I would have loved to see him get past this, but then again I'm always rooting for redemption rather than just plain death.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Clarke, he did kill those people, but he wasn't the only one who has killed innocent bystanders.
It made me cry, that's always a good thing in my book.
and is it the same? is it still enjoyable knowing the male lead's gone?
ReplyDeletehe is 17 years old NO ONE!!! deserves to have that happen to them that young
ReplyDeleteThey confirmed his death in the interview and how it's going to affect the characters.
ReplyDeleteHe was gonna die in the ark if it werent for being sent to earth... The Ark was/is harder to their own people.
ReplyDeleteso this is what he gets for being a mother 'effing hero
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm speechless! It was awesome, OMG Clarke, I mean everyone expected Finn to die, but that Clark did it! :O
ReplyDeleteIn the Ark he was. In the earth he just became a murderer. Sad tho.
ReplyDeleteGod stop calling him that, what he wasn't allowed to have a breaking point? he's not a cold-blooded murderer killer like murphy, it pained him with what happened, you're all treating him like if he was always murphy
ReplyDeleteand that's just what it was, he could've had an entire season of story with his PTSD and recovery
ReplyDeleteBut he did killed. and I havent forgotten what Mutphy did. He was a bully and he had it hard. But he changed¿? (im still not sure about that).... Dont you think that Finn deserved the same treatment?. Either by the hands of the Ark people or The grounders he was gonna pay for what he had done.
ReplyDeleteI was expecting a last minute saving after a huge beat up like Murphy but it didnt happen.
Wow Clarke mercy killing again
ReplyDeleteWhen I said Finn was going to die in the finale many people said it is too obvious!
ReplyDeleteSadly yes, let's face it Ivan, I loved him too, because I love Thomas, he's a crazy pretty dude who knows how to act, and even when the character was absolutely congruent (from my perception), a lot of people didn't like him, so the writers had to cut him off, and as they usually do with actors they actually like, they let him go as a martyr, showing to the audience that he was great, that he only made a mistake, and still he was punished as the greatest sinner of all, that sounds biblical, but that's how this is, now I hope Thomas gets a better part in some other show or movie, he deserves it.
ReplyDeleteFinn killed civilians(elderly and kids). Clarke killed 300 warriors.
ReplyDeleteI wanted Skye to go for the head. Argh that guy is still alive.
ReplyDeleteyou really think it was that because i thought showrunners don't let fans influence their shows?
ReplyDeleteno grounder is a civilian they're murderers even the children
ReplyDeleteI glad the show isn't backing away to do stuff cause of shippers. Either way I was surprised how things went down.
ReplyDeleteThe 2nd half should be quiet interesting.
ReplyDeleteI loved the flashbacks, they gave more impact to Raven's reaction to the whole situation.
Which interview?
ReplyDeleteIts a different watching experience now. I just care less what happens to whomever. Or what will happen to plot wise, I watch on because I rarely drop a show, I have to finish what I started. I have so far only dropped 3 shows.
ReplyDeleteNow its just too many female leads more so then before.
ReplyDeleteYou don't understand. Clarke killed warriors armed and ready to kill. Finn killed unarmed civilians. I know during war this doesn't matter but even soldiers have a moral code. Finn killed innocents.
ReplyDeleteby that respect Clarke, Bellamy and Octavia, and more should die in the end.
ReplyDeleteWell we might see Raven bite the dust next episode. So who knows who's next?
ReplyDeleteIf it comes to that then they should . If you can't take the intensity of the show then too bad. Maybe you should stick to the Disney channel? Or Hallmark ?
ReplyDeleteSo sad, the moment Raven gave Clarke the knife I knew what was going to happen.
ReplyDeleteSadly enough the producers confirmed it, I would liked that twist too.
ReplyDeletethought it was a great episode, I'm glad that they decided to kill him story wise.
ReplyDeleteI didn't say noting about can't taking it. It was nearly a side comment to others views.
ReplyDeleteI personally liked this episode and if Finn had to die this episode did it well for him. As I said in my makn comment.
OMG! This episode was truly emotional!! That last scene!! :( I wasn't even a Finn fan but I'm actually shaking and really upset about what happened and how it happened!! :'(
ReplyDeleteOkay regaining my composure.
actually the accident thing was explained by Jason R.
ReplyDeletehe said he cut the scene and in the original Finn referred to sth as not the massacre. you can google it.
I just have to say one thing, characters aren't bigger than the show itself. If tomorrow, any of my favourites had to die - and for a moment I really thought Clarke would die - I would still tune in to see where the story goes.
ReplyDeleteNicolas you saw the 100... Yay.. So are you impressed? Do you like it?
ReplyDeleteGood, but the end of the episode was awww
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I cried at the death of a tv character.
ReplyDeleteThis was a really solid episode. Now Murphy needs to get his due too.
except they're no innocent if they could've they would've killed Finn and Murphy
ReplyDeleteI couldn't be happier with how this went.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the fallout from here.
ReplyDeleteYou become an actor, you get that acting jobs don't last forever - it's in the job description of an actor.
ReplyDeleteAnd seriously - chill, it's just a tv show, you don't like it you stop watching and move on to something else!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just don't get how people can argue that the grounders are so moral and deserve justice.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind writers killing off characters.
ReplyDeleteWhen you have an entire episode full of flashbacks on two main
ReplyDeletecharacters, you know who will be kicking the bucket at the end! That and
the episode title gave it away for me.When raven gave clarke that
knife/scalpel,i really thought she was going to kill lexa for a moment
but when i saw clarke's face when she asked to say goobye,i knew exactly
what's going to happen.Nevertheless,it was tragic and gut-wrenching!
What
i love about this show is that even though sometimes the twists are a
bit predictable like this episode, they execute it such a unique and
unorthodox way-it makes the watch worthwhile!
I can't wait to see
raven-clarke confrontation or how it's going to affect clarke moving
forward!Brilliant episodes, one of the best written shows on-air at
present IMHO!
No, it's not bad writing. The Sky People have no ground(pun intended) to ask for that: they either die or turn Finn.
ReplyDeleteThe Grounders are telling them this: ok, u want a truce? Give us Finn and we're okay... don't and we kill you all.
The grounders do not care about them, and i'm sure they think they can take on the mountain man alone.
Those aren't fair terms, sure. But the one on top is the one that demands the terms and right now the Grounders have the upper hand.
I'm freaking in love with this show! Is sooooooo good! Can't believe only a few people watch it!
ReplyDeleteI love how they kill characters without remorse, how everyone is set up with a task(so you don't have characters floating 'cause you don't know what to do with them)...
ReplyDeleteEliza confirmed in several interviews that Clarke loved Finn, that this is the core of her story arc for the rest of season 2 how she copes with the guilt. Why cannot that be?
ReplyDeleteNo they were criminals that's why they were sent to Earth to die. Even Charlotte the youngest of them is a psycho.
ReplyDeleteI knew Finn had to die for the things he did and i knew it was going to happen soon, but I still couldn't mentally prepare myself for it. Finn was there from the beginning with The 100 and he was the one trying to make peace when everyone else just wanted to go to war. Finn didn't want anyone else to die and I loved that about him.
ReplyDeleteThen in Season 2 he turned dark and yes I know he did terrible things but I still think he is a good person at heart.
ReplyDeleteAll the characters are developed so well. Looking back to first episode everyone of them has changed drastically in a short period yet it all happened organically. Every one of them is well developed except for Monty. I love when they kill people in this show because every death serves a purpose rather than shock value. This show is an asset to The CW.
Welcome to The 100 Nicolas..
the pace of the storyline is catching up on the writing. But it is still very easy to overlook small timeline issues. I was afraid they were not going to - there was just no other way to end this situation. Never liked him but man it was very well done and I shed a few tears.
ReplyDeleteThey are hardly criminals. Charlotte wasn't a sicko. She was a traumatized little girl that tried to fix what was broken inside her after she'd watched her parents murdered.
ReplyDeleteYes I do, especially in this network, it seems like they're pushed to do what people want in order to keep them as audience
ReplyDeletesad sad feelings :(
ReplyDeleteMaybe she thought what she feels was or really wanted it to be love but it didn't look like it. She cared of course, like she always does when it comes to the 100. When everthing collapsed on her, so many deaths, open war, her mother betrayal, best friend murdered and so on I don't blame her for "loving" Finn. She needed someone close and there he was.
ReplyDeleteYeah, i'm quite curious for Monty... Him and Jasper are the least developed characters on the show.
ReplyDeleteHere hoping they get more to do after hiatus when they(if everything works out) return with their friends.
This is it. The 100 is the sci-fi version of GoT.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, loved the episode.
Finn isn't dead yet ..... Clarke may have stabbed him but that does mean he's actually dead who's to say it isn't all just a ploy
ReplyDeleteHe was my favorite too, and tho this was a good episode. A day later I'm kind of feeling it, thinking to myself I can care less what happens moving forward, If I watch it will just be to finish it. That Hope feeling has left me.
ReplyDeleteThat's how most UK shows are, but for me its the Characters, then the Story. If I don't feel hopeful in that tv world I can care less about the story post my POV character dies.
ReplyDeleteI have to disagree with you on that, without the characters you don't have a show.
ReplyDeletewhy some people calling the grounders hypocrites when the 100 also the same . they sent 100 children/criminals to ground thinking it not survivable but hoping it was. the 100 or arkers seem like they don't appreciate life. yes Finn wanted peace and still does with the help of Lincoln that when we met Anya.
ReplyDeletefinn death was sad but he did shot them when the grounders was willing do what he said while he search. only seems like only 2 warriors was there one was a child the other holding the others from running away. the elder was running away not towards finn but finn kill him the child seem to running towards finn. everyone else was going crazy. murphy was the one try to stop him but other like Clarke claims it wasn't good enough. Now if roles was reverse the sky people will want there revenge too if the grounders came in attack them by just killing elders and children. will you consider that they should get there revenge.
also some arkers deaths was due to each other, some with climate and doing war.
i will say the 100 and the grounders is consider both hypocrites
and this is my opinions
overall this episode was great. i kinda do wish was another way to save finn
But I think there is a double standard in you accepting such a thing on GoT and not on The 100 just because it seems Finn is your favourite character. The 100 is very under-rated and I feel it is the CW's GoT - it's got great quality writing and acting and a vision.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite characters on GoT have been biting the dust, one after the other, Season 1, 3, 4 ... it's been heartbreaking and gut wrenching, but the show must go on ... and that is when the other characters (who may not have been the main character earlier on) bring it home!
ReplyDeleteWith Clarke's medical knowledge, I'm pretty sure that Finn is dead.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone else think Lexa was aware of Clarke's intentions when she asked her to say goodbye?
ReplyDeletewell that's just stupid
ReplyDeletesee that's why you're ecstatic about what happened you now have hope for your ship and if you think after what just happened it'll happen that's insane
ReplyDeleteDepends on the type of main pov characters the main characters and sub mains.
ReplyDeleteIts different for each genre and context.
I think!
Bye!
ReplyDeleteAmazing!
ReplyDeleteFinn is dead. The creator and the writers have both confirmed it.
ReplyDeletefor the love of...
ReplyDeleteyes I ship Bellarke, but the show is awesome even without them as a romantic couple.
Clarke is sure to see the ghost of "Finn" every now and then from here on out.
ReplyDeleteI want Ward around forever.
ReplyDeleteSorry, just saying.
ReplyDeleteWhat is with the CW and killing characters I love in the midseason finales?
ReplyDeleteThe 100: Finn
Arrow: Oliver (I know that he's coming back but still!)
TVD: Liz is dying
The Flash: OK no main character died but the whole episode was about Nora's death and some police officers were killed.
JTV: The grandmother is supposedly dead.
The Originals: I haven't seen it yet but I'm assuming at least one character died.
Hmm, you are right, it does depend on shows ... ensemble casts definitely can pull stuff like this off. Lets hope The 100 can!
ReplyDeleteWell, to be honest, The 100 for me is sort of the show that I've wanted to see for a long time ... set in an apocalyptic future, different types of clans and a whole lot of stories to tell ... so I suppose I'm a little passionate about it! I suppose if tomorrow, another of the main cast were to die (which I wouldn't put it past them), I would still come back to see the consequences.
ReplyDeleteBelieve me when I say this, I think Finn's death is going to leave a void for me ... I was still pretty upset about it last night! But I truly hope that for the story it does serve some purpose as we move on.
Let's hope you do come back to the show and that you enjoy it. Here's to good television! :)
I rated the episode awesome.
ReplyDeleteGood on Bell, Clarke and Raven doing what friends are supposed to do and having Finn's back whether he was wrong or not (which he was) the way true friends are supposed to, even though they were wrong in denying the Grounders' justice.
ReplyDeleteI loved the episode even though I don't agree with Finn dying I do agree with the way he died Clark killing him was surprising
ReplyDeleteI felt that was gonna happen the moment Raven gave her the knife. Brave Princess indeed.
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty good I wish finn hadn't died tho. I know he made a bad choice but I think that he shouldn't been punished to death
