This was a really epic episode of Arrow. It was very well put together. There were quite a few more scenes than usual so it made the choices extra hard. I picked Oliver's death, the duel and China White and Tatsu's fight. Not to mention the fight between The Arrow and Thea. Here for action, tbh.
the fact that they would kill Oliver Queen in season 3 mid season finale is shocking......as there is still more season to come.......usually it a last season kind of thing as a big finale hero dies to save the day
i was too busy critiquing Oliver's fighting style to get into that fight. Oliver wasn't fighting in his usual emotionless contained style...right given the. character's emotional state. It made it obvious he was going to lose...well it allowed me to have emotional distance. so i. couldn't vote for that scene
interesting. never occurred to me to consider that scene as Oliver getting killed. i watched and thought "stabbed". surprised me to see references to his death today.
i was wondering about that. when i read about Ras a Ghul it was in the Batman comics (um.. 80sI think.). my first thought was 'are they going to let Oliver kill him then bring him back? didn't Batman finally kill him....and he went into the Lazarus Pit?
anyway it was on my mind. but it never occurred to me that Oliver was dead.
I got distracted by the Ra's Al Ghul's stuntman, it was obvious the change of actors in the scene. I couldn't care less about who was gonna win the fight, I was just trying to convince myself it was the same guy, restoring the magic and all.
Umm I went with OTHER, and that's b/c even though it was the same thing, the part isn't on this poll. And that's Oliver telling Felicity, he loved her after saying he would do whatever it takes to protect his sister. Well it was that whole Olicity scene really. The second would be Ra's killing Oliver. (i'm still grieving). Third would be the duel, and fourth would be Arrow and Thea fighting!!
It's a tie between Felicity asking Oliver to kill Ra's and that final scene. The Oliver/Felicity scene was beautiful and I do believe it will haunt Felicity that she didn't tell Oliver she loves him back. When Ra's stabbed that sword through Oliver's chest, though...absolute shock and the score along with the flashes gives me chills. I knew Oliver would be presumed dead based on spoilers, but I did not expect it to be so brutal and hard to watch.
I didn't know Oliver said "I Love You", I thought he said "I Have You". Then again I'm hard of hearing so...... Anyway I hope someone posts that clip on YouTube so can catch it correctly without having to watch the whole episode because I really don't want to have to sit through all those overly annoying Ray moments. And you know what, I don't really care that his girlfriend/fiancé/bride/wife (sorry didn't really catch what she was to him) was killed. I mean every super hero looses someone close to them as their first step to becoming a HERO. Anyway, if indeed Oliver declared his love for Felicity then that's a big win for them and me as I'm a huge Olicity shipper. Also it's about time he says it and means it. :) Now how long before she says it to him and they take the next step towards Happily Every After?!
I went with the duel, but for me it includes the kill. When was the last time they killed a/only lead? Although this has been nothing new, I still was so surprised and shocked.
LOL. After watching several seasons of Buffy, where the stunt woman was at least 6 inches taller than Sarah Michelle Geller (I could never help but watch the stuntwoman and look for the swaps) I didn't think I'd ever be able to *stop* looking for the stuntperson swap. But I didn't cross my mind here. :-) Oliver flung himself into the fight so emotionally (he was basically screaming and flailing. If he'd had his eyes closed I wouldn't have been surprised) and it was just so different from how he fights that I could not take my eye off of him. I never thought about Ras a Ghul's stunt guy.
i found really well played by the actors the scene in which Malcom gives a surprise visit to Oliver to tell him about Thea. But, yes the best part was definetely Olivers death.
Surprised the Laurel and Dinah scenes aren't there. I know so many people have issues with Laurel, but those scenes were good, and well acted. (Aside from Alex Kingston's accent sounding a little off).
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Had to go with Oliver getting killed. Saw it coming but still seriously shocking that they went through with it.
ReplyDeleteso do you think they'll go full comic book or is it some miraculous almost dead?
ReplyDeleteLazarus Pit is coming
ReplyDeleteThe flashbacks that Oliver saw right before he died. Oh god. THAT killed me.
ReplyDeleteDefinetely the Final scene with Olivers "death" it was awesome and shocking

ReplyDeleteFinal scene in the foundry and Oliver's "life before his eyes" moment before he toppled over the edge of the cliff. BRING ON JANUARY ALREADY.
ReplyDeleteThea escapes and Malcolm reveal his plan.

Thea "beats up" Oliver
ReplyDeleteNyssa's last words to Oliver because I totally called it.

ReplyDeleteI personally thought the Thea fighting Oliver scene and then jumping off the porch was ridiculous lol.

ReplyDeleteI've seen it happen lots of times. Not anytime before the series finale, mind you.
ReplyDeleteThe "I love you" scene off course.

ReplyDeleteThe duel and Oliver being "killed". Absolutely brilliant fight scene.
ReplyDeleteAlso Thea whipping out those moves, FINALLY! Bring on the Thea vs Laurel fight in 2015!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteDefinetely Oliver's "death"
ReplyDeleteOliver's "death" and his last thoughts. Though I knew he would be back after a 3 episodes hiatus I was shocked.
ReplyDeletewasn't that porch kinda too high for her too jump off? she didn't have any equipment.
