ReplyDeleteHow can the humans working with Samaritan actually believe that something like this is okay? They're either brainwashed, dumber than I was willing to believe, or they're much bigger zealots than I thought.
ReplyDeleteOr they're just in it for the power that comes with it. That seems to be Martine's case at least.
ReplyDeleteWhat they don't understand is that the power they have is an illusion. It's granted to them by Samaritan and can be taken from them at any time.

ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that before the season ends, despite that I agree with you in the sense that obviously the moral of the story is most likely power (or power used in this way) can't give you "everything" or things that ought to be truly meaningful, that we get more personal story behind Greer, Martine, and the creation of Decima. --I think not completely understanding Greer's motives underminds the Samaritan plot, but I'm willing to give them the season to explain it, before I get all worked up.
ReplyDeleteWell, Greer has been around for awhile now and the fact that POI hasn't yet bothered to flesh out his character is a bit of a sore spot with me and, as you said, the absence of motive and context does undercut this entire storyline somewhat.
ReplyDeleteReading this makes me believe more than before that this trilogy of episodes are meant to pay off the Samaritan storyline. The stakes are raising too high during these episodes to be anything else.
