Eion Bailey will return to reprise his role as August/Pinocchio in the second half of the Disney-owned network's fairy tale drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
While the circumstances of his return are being kept under wraps, Bailey will appear in episode 414 — the third episode back when the series returns from its winter hiatus.

Please don't ruin him again because August was one of my favorite characters and I'm still forever bitter about what they did to him.
ReplyDeleteYes! August was one of my favorites, it will be good to see him again!
ReplyDeleteYES! I LOVE AUGUST SO FREACKING MUCH
ReplyDeleteI wonder how they're going to do that?
ReplyDeleteAnd the confirmations of the returning characters begin... wooo loved August! hope they bring back more characters like Mulan and Red
ReplyDeleteew
ReplyDeleteThis is the best news
ReplyDeletePRAISE THE LORD, then A. Horowitx & E. Kitsis!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing we'll see him again in flashbacks..
ReplyDeleteAugust!! :D I'm so happy he's returning even if it's only in flashbacks. This just got me even more hyped up for season 4B!
ReplyDeleteRIGHT?! i really liked August he was like Emma's big brother and honestly i still find it kind of funny that his younger self is a redhead when Eion is clearly a brunette, i mean i get they have to get the best actors for their roles but it's still funny LOL
ReplyDeletei thought they confirmed both Aurora ( Aurora being a big part in the second half because of maleficent) and Mulan coming back
ReplyDeleteIdea: Maybe we will see HOW HE KNEW ABOUT THE DARK ONE'S DAGGER or about Neal=Baelfire?!
ReplyDeleteHappy dance! Most likely a flashback which is fine with me
ReplyDeleteThe notion of having Maleficent, Ursula and even Cruella scares me , in between focussing on them and the original cast plus characters like Ariel and Aurora who are important to their stories lm worried this may be a trainwreck, Ursula's dress needs to go its ugly Ursula would not be caught dead in that awful thing.
ReplyDeleteI hated Maleficent's old dress love the new one it honestly ruined the character in season 1 for me because she looked so harmless. But if she was kind of reformed back then , it would make sense.
Ursulas outfit is really bad, did Kistis actually watch the episode and clap lol.
I think they should have gone with black and purple for her look, the glove things on her arms make it look even worse.
Enough with that , August's coming back yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.
oh yeah i forgot ursula's purple LOL, surprising they usually color coordinate their characters with their fairy tale counterparts like with Ruby
ReplyDeleteCan you remind me how did Neal get the book?? I'm losing it trying to remember!!
ReplyDeleteI kinda missed him!
ReplyDeleteIt's possible that The Dark One banished the Dark Queens to our world for trying to steal the gauntlet..
ReplyDeleteWell they said flashbacks from the Cursed season 1 in 4b so August makes this even better
ReplyDeleteFlashbacks - New York and something connected to the Storybook otherwise i did not think much of August at all. Though i did like how him and his father came back together - i thought that was nice.
ReplyDeletewhat book THE Storybook?
ReplyDeleteI didn't like August much or Neal... these two totally f'd up - idiots.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow I see flashbacks here, I don't want August back as a adult or in SB
maybe but i don't know because he didn't know about The Land Without Magic until Neal went through the portal and Superior told him the only way was through a curse
ReplyDeletebut he wasn't in Storybrooke until Emma came to town
ReplyDeleteNow this makes me ecstatic!!!!
ReplyDeleteActually wasn't the previous outfit Gold? -I think this Ursula is into metallics LOL. I didn't really mind the green outfit--I kind of like the "green sea monster" idea. Reminded me of something more out of Grecian myth...
ReplyDeleteThank You! Thank You! Thank You! One of my favorite characters! Even if it's just a flashback I'm grateful, but would love an actual arc!
ReplyDeleteI yelled out loud and the dogs were startled! XD
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for his return which seems likes forever! Can't freaking wait!
ReplyDeleteI hope its for more than the one episode.
Hahaha! But seriously, a nice Christmas gift! :D
ReplyDeleteAnd The Dragon! (So some magical beings could still exist out there)
ReplyDeleteI said something out loud and my husband said i thought you were watching Fringe.Like i can't multi-task!
ReplyDeleteMe tooooo!
ReplyDeleteI hope it does tie into the Dagger and Neal but I'm thinking it probably is going to relate to "The Author" two---I can't remember, but wasn't he adding pages to Henry's book at some point? Wasn't there a hint that he relates to origin of the book?
ReplyDeleteIt was a shame they decided to turn Pinocchio back into a boy, he was one of the characters I would always look forward to seeing each week.
ReplyDeleteI also want him to be in more than one episode, but he will probably only be in a 5 minute flashback.
Hahaha! Really ironic when you consider the character's name too :p
ReplyDeleteIt really wish that the writers could of given some of these reoccurring actors more predominant ($$$) roles sooner so they didn't go looking for work elsewhere, but I'm glad they can get some of them back. Gives us something to look forward to!
ReplyDeleteNo, In "Tallahassee" it's revealed that HE was the one to tell Neal not to meet Emma (perhaps on someone else's orders?) and he also was in the same orphanage as her when she is a baby before he runs away, which implies he has been running around The Land Without Magic too.
ReplyDeleteAnd David was in a coma which means the events happen when Emma is there going by some of the things the writers have been saying that the Charmings are shown during that time not Henry as he is way to old to pull off little Henry
ReplyDeleteYes it does!
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why the show didn't make August or Dr Whale or countless other interesting characters regulars, but instead out of the blue make Michael Socha a regular who hasn't done much at all. (I do like the character). Doesn't make much sense to me. That is why for me Season 1 will always be the best season, as it focused on more characters than Emma's family.
I love Will Scarlet too. I'm still hoping they're saving him to turn over some other plot and/or to fill some gaps, but I probably shouldn't hold my breath!
ReplyDeleteoh yeah true that
ReplyDeleteyeah a lot of people myself included thought that August was either Future Henry or The Author or both and no he went to Neal himself
ReplyDeletebut i thought they said WAY before Emma or even Henry got to town
ReplyDeletenice
ReplyDeleteit HAS to do with the author, right? How else did He know how to tamper with the Storybook? Maybe He was working for the Author?
ReplyDeleteno, no, no! That's not what the creators said AT ALL! There will be flashbacks in Enchanted Forest that happen PRE-Curse.... NOT Storybrooke!
ReplyDeleteHe knew about it BEFORE Belle. He had been all alone for several centuries before Belle came into the picture....
ReplyDeletea flashback where we gonna see how he got the book?.. Im happy he is back.
ReplyDeleteno he didn't he was trying to find a way but failed UNTIL he met Superior
ReplyDeletereally? yeah that makes more sense since David was in coma i guess i read wrong
ReplyDeletei would so freaking love that and not hard to believe since August was always mysterious and all-knowing
ReplyDeleteI know he went to Neal himself....I went back and looked at the Tallahassee transcript. It was the following lines that made me believe he was working for someone else...
ReplyDeleteAugust: There's a curse... and it needs to be broken. Emma, is the key. I was tasked with keeping her on track and you, my friend, just got caught in the crossfire. Now, I'm going to tell you a story. And, at the end of it, you're going to have to make a decision. Will you do the right thing... or not? So... are you ready?
Yes. I don't remember. Can you please remind me??
ReplyDeleteImagine Graham, August and Hook tryingvto woo Emma. That would be quite interesting.
ReplyDeleteSadly they had to cut them off And I still don't get why August was let go. Glad to see him again.
In truth the green doesn't really bother me just the ugly dress, if it was beautiful and green l would be happy , it looks worse because of how good Maleficent and Cruella's looks are.
ReplyDeleteI always try to forget that OUAT 2B ever happened. It almost made me stop watching one of my favorite shows and the horrible episode in which they randomly decided to kill August and transform him into a little boy is a big reminder of why I despised that part of the series so much.
ReplyDeleteI am very happy that they are trying to correct their ways. I personally think I will like 4B more than 4A, I am already in love with the queens of darkness and I am really happy that they are incorporating characters like Aurora, Ariel and Pinochio back into the storyline. I feel like that's when OUAT is on its best

ReplyDeleteUgh, the second half of Season 2 was the worst.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember August adding pages to the book but i do remember we never learned who sent him.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Hulu has OUaT to view i would love to re-watch those eps with him in it,,
I agree. I try to forget it existed. Then I remember the horrible idea in which they decided to have an episode of the worst villains on the show torturing Regina. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! Wish they were also able to keep Graham (the sheriff) around a bit longer. I guess in the beginning they didn't realize the impact some characters would have on the fans or story. I think they started having more forethought to their characters when Belle was introduced.
ReplyDeleteNetflix has all three seasons and Hulu has the first half of the fourth season.
ReplyDeleteNeal didn't it was August
ReplyDeletehuh i guess i thought he meant that he was tasked by his father to look after Emma but you remember he left her and for some reason decided then to contact Neal, but maybe you're right and The Author found him and gave him the mission of making sure Emma got to Storybrooke
ReplyDeleteit was when Henry lost The Storybook and then August put it under Emma's car to make sure they saw that story
ReplyDeleteum i don't remember the second half of season 2, was it Pan?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Patty!
ReplyDeleteNow that you said that it sort of rings a bell.I'll be checking out Netflix later and during the rest of the holiday.Knowing me i'll start watching the show from the first ep and go all the way through!
ReplyDeleteyessssssss!
ReplyDeleteI also remember they made this point of showing him with a "typewriter" (and I think is was also used to make Neal "Believe" in August's belief in the book's Stories being "Fate" --which could suggest that Neal knew something about The Book/The Author too!
ReplyDeleteNote: Typewriter is another fun Bad Robot and Fringe Reference, as Bad Robot's actual building masquerades as the: "National Typewriter Co.", One of J.J. Abrams' children is named August, and Obviously the type-writers in Fringe play to an important espionage communication device between universes and "August" is one of the 12 Observer "Agents" who play "course correcter" and was tasked to watch over Christine Hollis --and of course, August "defected" and variable exchanged himself to change the future for the life Christine Hollis!
Here are a few pics of August/Typewriter:
Well if it's meant to be a Fringe reference, like I think it is, then the original "12" Observers were also tasked by some unknown figure/group to gather info and course connect at some undisclosed future of their original time line...
ReplyDeleteUgh I meant August! lol. How did he get it?
ReplyDeleteCan you remind me how did he get the book? I can't remember..
ReplyDeleteNow just bring Red/Ruby back and I'll be perfectly happy. Great news though!
ReplyDeletei agree i'm excited to, and from what i've been reading in the interview with the show runners, it looks 4B will be better then 4A
ReplyDeleteIs this one of the typewriters they used in Fringe? Looks like.
ReplyDeleteI miss reading your little side notes!
No, both of these images are from OUAT S2 and are August Booth's Typewriter. He kept it in a wooden box ("mystery box") initially attached to the back of his motorcycle when he came to Storybrooke, but they are similar to Fringe's simply because both styles of typewriters are "old school-looking", even though I suspect in both cases are magical/advanced tech (Bad Robot staple note is juxtaposing new and old tech side by side or meshed together into one. IE: The Island, Wave Sync Devise/Peter's Machine, or Muller Devise)
ReplyDeleteCora - episode 10 to 16
ReplyDeleteTHEN Tamara and Greg episode 17 to 22
Peter Pan was in s03e01 until s03e11
YAAAAASSSSSS YAASSSSSSS YAAASSSSSSS yaaaassssssssssss
ReplyDeleteHe took it from Henry's hiding spot under that old playground.
