J.J. Abrams, the film’s co-writer and director, and Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, have decided to reveal the identities of some of their new characters exclusively to EW—and they’ve done it in a retro fashion that should bring a smile to anyone familiar with the phrase “Collect ‘Em, Trade ‘Em.”
Here’s a rundown of the reveal, listed in order of their collectible card number. (Asked if there was significance to the numbering, Abrams replied: “YES.”) Time to get on that, Bothan spies.
• #11 — BB-8 on the move
• #53 — Poe Dameron in his X-Wing
• #67 — Kylo Ren ignites his Lightsaber
• #74 — Rey on her Speeder
• #76 — Finn on the run
• #81 — Stormtroopers prepare for battle
• #88 — X-Wings in formation
• #96 — The Millennium Falcon

Poe Dameron, sounds like something to throw people off... Cameron Poe was the name of Nicolas Cage's character in Con Air.
ReplyDeleteI don't think all of these names are 100% true. Some are likely aliases. Also, Finn and Rey are missing last names. At least one of the characters in this movie has to be a Skywalker or a Solo, so maybe onw of them is? Which is why were're hiding their last names.
ReplyDeletedefinately JJ already used an fake name for his main villain so I can see this here......or the character use a different name temporary........could be that Rey is just the name she adopted but not her birhname
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing BB-8 is that droid riding the soccer ball (or is it a soccer ball droid) in the trailer.
ReplyDeleteI think the numbers are minutes
ReplyDeleteLet the puzzles and games begin! :D
ReplyDeleteSo if that's what they are it's telling us The Millennium Falcon doesn't show up until 96 minutes (over an hour and a half) into the movie, that seems like a really long time.
ReplyDeleteI don't think its the minute they will appear in, but one of the times they will.
ReplyDeleteI am pretty the number is based on the teaser like 96 sec is 1 mins 36 sec in
ReplyDeleteI know that obviously. But it was said that there was a significance to the numbering. I don't think being just a collection card number is of any significance.
ReplyDeleteWith Abrams/Bad Robot it's most like a code (possibly in relation to the letters iin the names) leading to something like an anagram or cipher, or viral marketing websites
