CBS summer sci-fi drama series Extant is shaking up its supporting cast heading into Season 2. Returning, of course, is star Halle Berry. She plays the lead, ISEA astronaut Molly, who mysteriously became pregnant while on mission in space.
Also picked up are her co-stars Pierce Gagnon, who plays Molly’s android son, and Grace Gummer, who plays an assistant on the Humanichs Project.
The intent is for two other Season 1 series regulars, Goran Visnjic, who plays Berry’s robotics engineer husband, and Camryn Manheim, who plays her friend and co-worker, to return for a couple of episodes at the start of Season 2.
Hiroyuki Sanada and Michael O’Neill are not coming back.

I like Extant, but Camryn Manheim's belongs on Person Of Interest.
ReplyDeleteWe can not lose "Control".
why wouldn't they have the guy playing her husband as a regular for S2, how does that even make sense? UGh.
ReplyDeletethank goodness her husband (Goran) is supposedly only for a couple episodes..he was the most boring character to me in the 1st season..gonna be odd on how they handle the season without Hiroyuki and O'neill though...hope they step it up a little in the 2nd season as the 1st seemed just kinda slow but was still decent..
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's a surprise. Losing John, but keeping Julie (who works for him) and Ethan (who he designed)?
ReplyDeleteI see what you did there :)..
ReplyDeleteI...really have no idea what this is going to look like. Are they going to jettison the ISEA altogether? Is Molly going to be, like, on the road, hunting her alien offspring down?
ReplyDeletei hope this means more control next year
ReplyDeleteAs long as the terrorism plot is revisited (which is probably why Julie stays on as a regular character), I'm good. You can't have an A storyline with a out B-side going along with it.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to see more of Sam next season. Oh well...
ReplyDeleteI like Extant but I'm surprised that they're talking about season two when CBS has yet to officially announce a renewal.

ReplyDeleteI definitely need to see Odin getting some kind of comeuppance.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if we're going to see Ethan back in his robot body. Or is he just going to be Molly's digital sidekick while she searches for her alien son?
ReplyDeleteIt was renewed a while ago
ReplyDeleteWell, they could kill John in the first couple of episodes, that would change things.
ReplyDeleteI just read on TVLine that John Winchester(Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is going to co-star.
ReplyDeleteI think they're going to kill him off and Jeffrey Dean is going to be Mollys new love interest
