YEAH, BABY!
ReplyDeletei hope they wrap up nicely with only 6 episodes.
ReplyDeleteI was waiting for this, so now I'll get on Continuum! I was waiting for the renewal announcement :)
ReplyDeleteLOL The smash-hit series is canceled. I love that headline.
ReplyDeleteYes, finally. I had given up on this getting renewed. I'm glad they are getting a chance to wrap up the story.
ReplyDeleteThat just made my day!!!
ReplyDeletethough its a short 6 episode season, i would always prefer a show to go 4 short seasons and be able to wrap it up on their terms than 8 seasons without enough notice to craft a proper series finale.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad it got renewed!!! I was really getting worried... It kills me when shows I love get canceled with cliffhangers.
ReplyDeleteOnly 6 episodes? La ghey! I really, really REALLY hate this practice of giving shows a super small final season. Just give it the typical 13. Sheesh.
ReplyDeletethough i agree and wish there were more episodes, i feel like the network is being nice to fans by renewing it for a final season in the first place. they are potentially losing money by renewing the show so i still give them props/and am thankful for giving the fans a real conclusion at all. though i do wish it could be more episodes as well :/
ReplyDeleteI can understand, but I can't think of a single show that was announced as ending and where the final season WASN'T shortened...for at least the past five or six years. It gets old. :) I am grateful to get an end for Continuum as well though so I'll take it.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't the networks give us a full two months of new episodes? Why is six the magic number right now?
ReplyDeletei can think of a few (HIMYM, Desperate Housewives, House, Smallville, kind of Two and a Half Men) but all those shows were super long running so i totally see your point. it sucks that a show has to go for like 7+ years to be like considered for a 22 episode final season and even then it isnt guaranteed at all.
ReplyDeleteFinally we get word! Thanks it got renewed for 2 seasons!
ReplyDeleteAt least they have the chance to end the show properly. And although there'll be only 6 episodes, who knows, maybe they won't be any fillers and it'll be like a long, long movie. In the UK a lot of shows only have 3 to 6 or 7 episodes, and sometimes it's enough to tell a good story.
ReplyDeleteBut I'll miss the show, season 3 was my favorite so far.
yay! i love this show
ReplyDeleteWell, in Continuum's case, it was such a niche performer that it couldn't sustain a longer episode count. Six episodes is the studio getting a proper ending for digital syndication, while Showcase and Syfy don't have to carry poor ratings for very long.
ReplyDeleteGlad we're getting and ending but sad to see it go.
ReplyDeleteglad for continuum fans. I only wish other networks had the decency to give their shows a small final run and not cancel with cliff-hangers.
ReplyDeleteGlad it got renewed but what only 6 episodes that sucks
ReplyDeleteAWESOME HELL YEAH WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, but i knew when it was renewed it would be the final season, this long without news it was obvious but awesome either way and COME ON SIX EPISODES ARRGGH!!! all shows with final seasons nowadays are only six: first Nikita, White Collar and now Continuum it's dumb
ReplyDeleteright it's idiotic
ReplyDeletelike Nikita?
ReplyDeleteThe show deserves more than six episodes for his finale season, but still better than none, so can't wait to see this final season, I really gonna miss Continuum.
ReplyDeleteFor anyone here who is aware of the Canadian airings and their ratings, did Continuum have major ratings declines in season 3? Is that why Showcase was taking so long to work this out? I realize the U.S. and Canadian markets work differently when it comes to ratings, but I wonder if this show was losing a lot of money for Showcase because of it's budget and that's why they hesitated for so long.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those "better late, than never............better something, than nothing at all!" Nobody 4 NOW!!!
ReplyDeleteyeah i guess doesn't make it any better that they basically gave up on the show
ReplyDeleteso it's Kiera and i forgot john doe's name and not Carlos
ReplyDeleteGreat...Said goodbye to Being Human, Lost Girl will be ending next yet to early 2016. And now Continuum...I guess I have to say goodbye to Syfy since all the good shows are ending...
ReplyDeleteNever watched it.
ReplyDeleteShadly it'll end .At least we 'll get a closure.
ReplyDeleteI had heard a couple weeks ago from 1 of the cast that there was a "strong positive rumour" but then nothing since & I thought "would they ever announce it?"
ReplyDeleteFunny thing is, I heard from a friend about 1/2 hour before it was the news was announced. Glad it is happening. Do I wish it was more than 6 eps? Sure. But its far better than 0.
Those who are whining that its "only" 6 episodes.. Theres a lot of shows out there whose fans would gladly take another 6 episodes to wrap up their stories. So quit whining. At least we are going to (in theory) get closure. I wouldn't be shocked if this was somehow motivated by Netflix. They aren't big on shows that don't have a definitive ending, so maybe Showcase gave in to a final 6 episode season so there could be a proper finish so that it was more appealing to Netflix.
Whatever the case. Glad its happening.
Awesome news! Continuum has definitely been criminally underrated, and the lengthy process for the renewal was getting me worried. Although I'll be sad to see it go, I'm glad it's getting the chance to rap up its story.
ReplyDeleteYay, so glad that Continuum has been renewed, and can finish its storyline. I'm a little sad that the show has only been renewed for 6 episodes, but at least fans have a chance of getting resolution for the characters and major plot points. I'm looking forward to Continuum's return.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy ! I think the show and the fans deserved a proper ending to Kiera's journey, give it a sense, a purpose, whatever it is. Hoping they will be able to express all is needed in such a short screen time. I love continuum, and look forward of what Simon Barry will deliver as a closure for all the great characters, Kiera, Carlos, Alex, Garza...
ReplyDeleteI agree with all of you. Continuum is underrated and def. a very good show. I'll miss it once it's gone, but for now I'm happy we're getting an ending. :)
ReplyDeleteI mean, sure, I'd have loved 13 episodes or 2 seasons, but I think 6 very intense episodes could go the job well!
Unless they get a new good show.
