Hi everyone,
I'm planning to write an article (or two) at the end of the year called Best TV Moments of 2014. If you want to take part in preparing the top 10 (or 25/50/100, depending on the response) list of SpoilerTV Readers choices, you can fill out the form below.
A few simple rules:
- Maximum of 10 moments per person
- Only send the form once. If you send your picks more than one time, they will not be counted
- I encourage you to say a few words about "why did you choose THIS moment?"
- TV Moments can mean: scenes, news, show's celebrations, big reveals, etc.
- The order is not important
- Deadline: December 24th, 2014, end of the day

ReplyDeleteI won't submit mine for a while, gonna wait for OUAT, The 100 & Ascension to finish and to see more of The Librarians as well. Most scenes from me will probably be from OUAT, The 100 & Penny Dreadful :)
This is fun but so hard at the same time!!! I put: Joffrey's murder / Battle between Oberyn and The Mountain / HTGAWM Premiere / Crossovers: The Flash and Arrow; Chicago Fire, P.D. and Law & Order SVU / Breakind Bad Finale and I don't remember the rest. LOL

ReplyDeleteThis was fun but very very hard and I am already regretting most of my choices for the show I was forced to leave out of it. I decided to stick with scenes only and not include whole episodes or decisions or news, otherwise it would have been impossible. I feel this has hurt the comedies for sure (since it's hard to think of particular scenes) as well as shows that I've loved but didn't necessarily have one standout scene. But well, I generally like my list. I've included The Walking Dead, Revenge (twice actually), Arrow (i guess we can consider it twice as well), The Flash, Game of Thrones, How I Met Your Mother, The 100, Shield, How to Get Away with Murder

Best Episode: Mizumono (Hannibal - 2x13);
Best duo: Matthew McConaghey and Woody Harrelson (True Detective) but I was on the verge of my seat anytime Martin Freeman shared a scene with Billy Bob Thornton.
Favourite Scene: Don and Peggy dancing (Mad Men - 7x06)
Best shipping moment: John and Sherlock getting drunk together and playing the Rizla Game *.* (The Sign of Three)
Best dialogue: Juice and Jax (Sons of Anarchy - 7x11)
Best Opening: Black Sails (Starz)

Best TV Moment 1. The long awaited Elena and Damon rain kiss also known has the #DelenaRainKiss actually happening on the Vampire Diaries this season in episode 7.
ReplyDeleteBest TV Moment 2. Damon and Stefan's reunion after Damon comes back from the dead in episode 5 on the Vampire Diaries season 6.
Best TV Moment 3. In a heartbreaking yet beautiful scene Elena reveals the exact moment when she fell in love with Damon in episode 2 on the Vampire Diaries season 6 then Alaric proceeds to erase Elena's memories of Damon.
mhhm, I will have to take some time for it. At the moment I only watch 3 shows obsessivly and with those I could name 5 ore more scenes. AoS, Arrow and The 100. But I want to consider the many good summer shows and the ones I catch up on (e.g. Teen Wolf, Black Sails)

I have a very silly question but it would shed some clarity.
ReplyDeleteIn terms of moments in 2014, do they have to have aired during the year 2014 or in general, the season that started in 2013 and ended in 2014?
For me being a big fan if the Originals and a big fan of the Originals. I have to say any parts of Elijah and Haley especaily when he saw her naked. And the scenes with Elijah and Klaus were good.

Most of the candidates I submitted may not be Top 10 material, but whatever: The Flash premiere, NBC crossover, GOT Purple Wedding, OUAT season finale (Frozen teaser), SPN reaching 200 episodes, Arrow – Moira's death, SPN – final shot of season 9 finale, Sherlock – not actually revealing how Sherlock faked his death.

- Viola Davis. Enough said.
2. David Clarke is alive!
- Woah. Did not see that coming Revenge.
3. Emily telling David the truth.
- Leads on from number #2. Finally, after what seemed forever, Emily confronted David and let him know she's Amanda.
4. RIP Sweets.
- Sweets' death is up their with Zack's betrayal for me.
5. Arrow/Flash crossover.
- I haven't really watched The Flash until this crossover, and boy, it's been good.
6. Sara's death.
- While I didn't like Sara being with Oliver, I did really enjoy her as a character.
7. Chicago Fire/Chicago PD/SVU Crossover.
- Wow. That was 3 hours of epicness over two nights.
8. Orphan Black's renewal.
- It took so long to be renewed, I was fearing the worst!
9. Cristina leaving.
- We knew Sandra Oh was leaving Grey's for the longest time, and her dance party with Meredith, and telling Meredith that Derek's not the sun, was a brilliant way for her to leave.
10. Conner Walsh.
Conner from HTGAWM has not only been my favourite character on TV in 2014, but probably forever.

-the bloody scene where the little girl has murdered her sister (sorry I'm not good with names), Carol taking the girl out to woods to kill her.
-Bob waking up and watching as his lef is being eated right infront of him
so many scenes.
Also enjoyed a lot of Reign scenes that I will need to go back and think over.
No SPN scenes for 2014, none of the episodes were good. Nothing interesting happened and disappointingly Jared/Sam was basically surplus to requirement for the whole year as the only character on the show who didnt have a stroyline outside of being used as a plot device which ended in episode 10 of season 9 and then again his part in season 10 ended in episode 3. I do expect a lot of Dean fans will have plenty to rave about though given that his character/Jensen was treated with respect that couldnt be afforded to Sam/Jared.
Supernatural: Demon!Dean, the mark of Cain and Sammy worried about his brother! I love Sam worried for Dean, he's been looking for him without rest. I missed that Sam :) And Demon!Dean because Jensen is a perfect actor, a EPIC actor, he's a showman, he can transform Dean in almost anything. Jensen can make you laugh, cry but be afraid with his performance it's most difficult for an actor but he does it without any problem.
ReplyDeleteArrow: Olicity kiss. It was a big step in their relationship and it was very intense! And the ''unexpected'' death of Sarah Lance. Although her death has caused very bad decisions in various characters.
Once upon a time: The appearance of Elsa and Anna, the actresses are fantastic for the role. The date of Hook and Emma and their relationship, very well written.
I submitted Person of Interest's Season 3 closing scene. The whole season had very powerful moments, but this was my favorite in 2014.

HIMYM: I love Ted & Robin, so the ending couldn't have made me happier
Also, lots of great stuff happening in Orphan Black, AOS, POI, Arrow and Sheldon's 'I Love You' to Amy.

ReplyDeleteok I waited to see the mid season finales to submitt my list and it was good because one point moved up the list. To get the top 10 "moments" was not hard, but it was difficult to bring them in a proper order. In the end summer shows did not make it on my list:

In no real order:
ReplyDelete- Person of Interest "The Devil You Know": Scarface sacrifices his life for Elias. It was a moving scene despite Elias being a sometime villain on the show. Showed how truly human Elias was to inspire such loyalty.
- Castle "Veritas": Beckett brings down Bracken. The botched wedding and the actually wedding will get more attention but this was what the show was working towards.
- Scandal "The Price of Free and Fair Elections": Rowan engineers his re-rise to power. You kinda know Rowan had always been the man behind the curtain, but seeing just truly shows his power.
- Arrow "Seeing Red": Moira sacrifices herself to Slade. It was one of her only truly selfless acts as a character.
- The Blacklist "Berlin Conclusion" OR "The Decembrist": Berlin is revealed OR Red kills Berlin. A great beginning and end of a storyline.
- Game of Thrones "The Laws of Gods and Men": Tyrion's rant. Peter Dinklage has been amazing and this 2 minute speech stole the season for me.
- House of Cards "Chapter 26" Frank's plan comes to fruition. A power player's grand plan had a great conclusion.
oh man... I don't think I'll be able to do more than ditto...cause even though I know that there are moments over the last year that were awesome...I will never be able to remember them.

ReplyDeleteFor me just because I am a big Originals fan. It has to be the Elijah and Haley scenes especially when they finally came together. I was not expecting it I thought it would happen later or next season but I can understand it happened. I love all their scenes. I love Daniel Gillies and I think Phoebe Tonkin is a amazing actress. Love Hope and Elijah and when Klaus and Haley saw the baby and the selfie. Just as long as they dont ruin my couple. But I am sure there are more angst ahead.

ReplyDeleteWish I'd waited longer to submit mine for this. Person of Interest and The 100 both had some of the best scenes last week with The Machine v Samaritan and Finn's death.
ReplyDeleteMy top moment of the year is still Sarah and Helena's reunion on Orphan Black, but the last five minutes of the latest 100 was some of the best TV I've seen in a long time.
I loved Iris West meeting the Flash! It was such a charged moment, and wow the chemistry of the actors!

For me because I am a big Originals fan its my new obsession, and I am a huge Elijah and Haley fan and I love anything with them even though in season 2 in the start it was shaky. But I would have to say the part when Elijah and Haley finally came together romantically and the part when Elijah thought about Haley. And I loved the Bonnie and Damon parts on the Vampire Diaries.

Whew! That was a feat of work going through an entire TV year for all the great moments. I ended up having 4 typed pages to choose from and over 30 shows. Granted 5 of the 10 could have come from Teen Wolf season 3B alone, since that was by far the best season of TV for me this year. DarkStiles as the villain was inspired and Dylan O'Brien nailed it. The 100, Enlisted, SHIELD, and The Goldbergs had several great moments to choose from as well. There was a lot of great TV this year.
ReplyDeleteSo glad I'm not the only one who included Daniel's death on Helix. That was such a powerful scene. I included the last Scorpion episode in my list in place of one from Dominion, so we have each other covered.

ReplyDeleteFor me because I am a big Originals fan and a huge Elijah and Haley fan I loved all their moments even the angst even though it was hard to watch. But I enjoyed when they came together romantically even though I was not expecting that, and I am a little nervous what will happen next and I enjoyed the Klaus and Elijah moments and when Hope was reunited with Klaus and Haley and all of them.
