CBR has learned that actor Marc Singer has joined the show's cast as a character from DC Comics history -- he'll play General Matthew Shrieve, a character created by writer J. M. DeMatteis and artist Pat Broderick, first seen in 1980's "Weird War Tales" #93. Singer's role is slated to be recurring following his debut in the 14th episode of the currently unfolding third season of "Arrow," which will likely air in late February or early March.
Here's the official character description from Warner Bros. TV: "In the DC Comics, Matthew Shrieve is the leader of a group known as the Creature Commandos. In 'Arrow' he will play a significant role in the latter portion of the season's flashback storyline."

I'm a little disappointed with the FB's this season,i hope with this character introduction,it will become more interesting to watch!
ReplyDeleteHmmm. Interesting that they will bring in the leader of the Creature Commandos into Arrow. I wonder if it will be just him, or will the superhuman members of the commandos make an appearance?
ReplyDeleteBeastmaster!
ReplyDeleteMike Donovan of 'V' is in the house.
ReplyDeleteCreature Commandos?
ReplyDeleteCodo and Podo will make appearances? XD
I kid... I know they're just the ferrets on Beastmaster not DC figures....
So I'm not the only one bored to death by them? And the fact that every week they magically relate to what's happening in the present day!
ReplyDeleteComics experts a little help here! Is he good or bad?

ReplyDeletelol, nice one. Damn, I know I'm old when I knew who you meant right away. Upvote for you. Clever :)
ReplyDeleteAgree 100%.
ReplyDeleteHa XD
ReplyDeleteI'm "old" as well guess then...
Seriously though, how awesome were those thieving ferrets?!?!
Thanks but still I don't know if he is good or bad. Is he like Waller and General Eiling or a decent guy?
ReplyDeleteBest part of the show, of course :)
ReplyDeleteGood guy.
ReplyDeleteGreat! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDeleteI miss that damn island with Slade and Shado.. I was so excited when they got Oliver off from there last season finale. Now I miss it terribly.
ReplyDeleteOh boy! They made us miss "purgatory"??? That's bad! That's "Oliver going to the Lance family dinner" bad lol
ReplyDeleteInteresting...I'm interested.
ReplyDeleteWell, as Oliver recovers his humanity on Season 3 he MUST lose it on the flashbacks... Shrieve will play a big role in that.
ReplyDeleteI'm still thinking that this will lead Oliver to Russia, next season. Checkmate arc incoming for Season 4.
Not me. I'm glad to be away from that insipid island for awhile. This is still more entertaining to me than the season two flashbacks.
ReplyDeleteThe thing that bugs me is why would someone like Waller want Oliver Queen as an asset? He hardly has fight training of one year. If it is for punishing him for stopping the attack on plane why not throw him in a jail? What is it that a ship wrecked spoilt billionaire playboy can do for Waller that any of her other operatives can't? If it was Shado or Slade Waller was recruiting I could understand. I hope now that Maseo is in current timez
ReplyDeleteWaller is shady and I'm sure this is all off-book so she's using Oliver to keep it from being traced back to her or ARGUS. This isn't punishment. Oliver is just an expendable tool she can leverage.
ReplyDeleteYou might be right. But it feels weird her using Oliver to get information from a guy to know bombs location knowing Oliver does not have the stomach for it. I know she is trying to transform him. But she let people die because of the bombs just to make Oliver capable of torture?? She could have used Maseo to torture the guy along with Oliver. I still feel it's too much trouble for someone like Amanda to invest time on a novice like Oliver. She could blackmail and use many other bad guys or soldiers with way more experience even if it is off the books. Suicide Squad, Maseo, Tatsu... they all make sense as they have talents. I hope they show us there is a specific reason for Waller wanting Oliver as a tool.
ReplyDeleteI usually don't mind lot of nonsense they show in Arrow. I don't know why this bugs me. :)
