Arrow - Season 3 - Atom costume faked in recent Promo
Dec 9, 2014
ArrowRecently the following promo was released online by WarnerTV Asia
Quiver Podcast apparently reached out to Andy Poon (one of the designers) and he confirmed that the Atom costume in that trailer is a hoax.
The costume shown is from Fallout 3. It appears that it's a placeholder to hide the real suit.
Nothing else in the above promo appears fake, just that of the Atom costume.
Can they do that? Isn't that a violation of copyrights or patent or something? Why even show it at all?
ReplyDeletei already noticed that. i was wondering why it looked identical to the chinese stealth suit from fallout 3 dlc.
ReplyDeleteBeing in Asia I'm not sure what the copyright laws would be like but Warner definitely don't have any connection to Fallout/Bethesda Software so it probably should be. Assuming they didn't ask permission.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure it's a violation in any continent. Maybe they were granted permission to use it because otherwise they are just asking for troubles and for what? A promo?!
ReplyDeleteSo stunt doubles and fake costumes? Good promos, guys. They seem totally final draft style.
ReplyDeleteaw damn it looked badass
ReplyDeleteFake suit in an actual promo-well,that's a first!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the promo I thought it was weird that it doesn't look like the hologram Ray was looking at in Draw Back Your Bow.
ReplyDeleteWhy show it then? I knew it look similar to something... I love Fallout 3. I Platinum it on PS3.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it look like the colors and structure weren't a match.
Chinese Stealth Suit.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's just for example and he shows her what he wants to make and it's similar to this kind of suit, and the suit he saw in 307 was different.
ReplyDeleteI doubt they did the foolish thing like this because most of the people recognized that it's fake.
Personally I think its just a placeholder. They probably sent out early copies of the episode so the networks can create promo's, subtitle it if need be, ect
ReplyDeleteThey probably wont receive the real version till a few days beforehand (they probably got it like...yesterday). So what we're seeing wasn't meant to be seen and was just a placeholder for production.
well the image of the suit was from promotional material ment to be released in news outlets. And given the obvious language barrier that exists between the US and any asian country there might be a chance that they misinterpreted the rules for using that image
ReplyDeleteOperation Anchorage, worst Fallout 3 DLC but still fun as hell.
ReplyDeleteGod....still waiting for Fallout 4 :(
If you have the puppy perk Dogmeat will "reproduce" everytime he dies and a new Dogmeat waits for you at the gates of Vault 13
ReplyDeleteBut it's not the same... He will look identical, but i will know it's a new one... I always left him inside my home on Megaton while i was out... Then when i returned home i would tap his head gently with my invisible hands.
ReplyDeleteHe was the best doggie... and i have 8 real dogs at home xD
Man, i love that dog... I miss him...
lol, I did the same. I kept him with the robo butler :P
ReplyDeletedamnit, when is Fallout 4 finally coming? :(
Which suit do you mean? The Atom or the one from Fallout?
ReplyDeleteI doubt that miscommunication is the reason. I mean this isn't a random channel that misunderstood the directions it got. It's a WB channel so it's safe to assume that there are at least American directors/consultants work there plus I'm sure that fluency in English is a requirement to get a job in a WB subsidiary company.
So the WB channel in Asia had the photos a promotion package for Operation Anchorage so they used it in the promo? Something doesn't make sense here.
ReplyDeleteThe robo butler with it's jokes! Jajaja In the ending i tought this: "If I play heroics, who is gonna fed Dogmeat? Sorry, blondie... step inside...".
ReplyDeleteI felt pretty bad... This game got me emotionaly Jajaja
I know, right?! It's been 6 f**king years already!
true but there are a very few countries were they are not accepted on the other hand nothing official is sent to those countries.
ReplyDeleteand some Asian countries a huge mount of people speak fluent English.
ReplyDeleteregardomg how much Asia WB has spoiled it was probably the right desicion.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you lost me, can you explain that again. Who or what are they? and nothing official about what? that using the photo is a violation?
ReplyDeleteAgreed
ReplyDeleteyeah sorry, I tend to jump topics. There are very few countries, that in generall do not accept the copyright laws . Thus copying is no violation in their country. In other countries copyright violations are so strong that some companies don't bother to publish their productions there and it does not matter cause somehow they get them anyway. I'm not naming them cause my info is already 6 years old so things could have changed.
ReplyDeleteOh I get it now. That could be the case but I thought that any company that's affiliated with WB no matter where they are located comply to the same rules as the HQ.
ReplyDeletethat would be the logical thing to do, question is how are they affiliated ? is it a branch, then yes. But probably it is an asian company that is contracted (kinda like franchise) which is under that countries laws (and loopholes) These are mostly economical and tax benefit issues.
ReplyDeleteDifferent situation neverthless shows how crazy the world is:
Germany is finally getting The Flash on screen in Feburary by complete different network even network group than Arrow! Arrow is airing with Grimm and The Flash will be aired with Gotham. Lucky for me there is Amazon I support WB directly.
Yeah sorry. I normally Don't get to talk with my friends about this stuff, they are so not into tv or movies. So I overload my comments.
ReplyDeleteDon't apologize. The main reason we all come here is to talk with other TV addicts lol I don't get to talk with my friends about my shows too and even if I convince them to watch a show I love they don't get into it like me. Before the crossover I was so excited and couldn't stop talking about it, they got bored and I felt like they were thinking "you need help" hahahaha
