He is INCREDIBLE at interacting with fans of the show. Gotta love him despite the plain torture he and the entire cast and crew put us through tonight.
The only reason why I can think Ra's would save Oliver is so that Oliver would be in his debt. The settlement of that debt could be killing Malcomb. It's wishful thinking on my part, but I'm hoping Ra's intentionally ran Oliver through with the sword in a spot that would disable him, but not kill him. That's an awfully large sword and some major organs would have to be missed though.
These next 6 weeks without a new episode of Arrow is seriously going to be torture. Can't freaking wait to see the fallout from Ollie's "death". Should be very interesting.
I really do dislike cliffhangers, And what kind of title is "Left Behind"? And what is up with this promo "and Oliver Queen is dead" OK I guess it wasn't a cliffhanger after all and episode 10 is the series final which will have Oliver dying and the funeral.
I hate when this happens. Oliver looked absolutely retarded for most of that fight. Ra's made him look like a very novice fighter and he's much better than what he showed. I've seen this happen before. It happens when someone has to lose or almost lose externally (externally meaning it's been decided or is known outside the show) but they can't show that in the show because they obviously can't just reveal that. The result is that the person who has to lose looks ridiculous because they look like they're trying to fight, but they can't show it. The middle part of it was better.
As for Thea being the killer, I knew it around episode 6 or 7. I was someone close to Oliver and someone nobody would expect. I was just thinking about it and who the possible suspects were, going through them one at a time. Ra's was on the list, Roy was on it, Ray Palmer was on it, and Sin was on it. But I never considered Thea, and that's when I realized that she had to be the one. I knew it was her because the reason I never considered her was that I never expected her to be the one. Voila.
The rest of the episode was great. When Guggenheim mentioned a surprise ending, I expected Oliver to kill Ra's. But I knew that wouldn't happen because Ra's would surely be around for longer. Very predictable ending actually. Looking forward to January.
If anyone is skill enough to incapacitate someone with a weapon though.. any weapon it is the Head of the League of Assassins though. He could of purposely missed vital organs or not. Its really up to him.
I know he isn't dead not really, that line was most likely something said right after Demon Head pushed Oliver over the cliff. My complaint is the promo was not very good all it showed was Oliver's old friend from China walking up on him where Oliver ran into the earth after being push over the cliff then Oliver's friend saying "Oliver Queen is dead!". Last nights episode was a cliffhanger
So, how is Oliver going to survive this? Well, maybe Caitlin or Cisco did keep a couple of drops of the Miracuro they used to create the cure, after all...even though they said they used it all. That seems like something like Cisco, in particular, might do...in the same way that he created that "cold gun" to keep the Flash in check, should he turn evil.
Since we're correcting pronunciations, every single actor is saying Ra's wrong. It's Ra's with an S sound, not Raz and most definitely not Rashe or however Nyssa says it. That one has been bugging me since last season.
I can't think straight. I'm still confused but if there wasn't a Lazarus pit on the show how could Oliver survive?! It's Malcolm's voice, right?! he told it to who that Oliver Queen is dead!
Can we get the Lazarus Pit, Fountain of Essence, one huge grudge match with Malcolm and Ra's? I think that is Malcolm's voice in the promo and Ra's on the mountain with him. I love Ra's.
Which is nothing compared to OUaT's three months....which is nothing compared to GoT's nine months...which is again nothing compared to Sherlock's two years :D
I keep going back to his first scene where he says he doesn't care for Sarah's killer, only for Malcolm's death. So I think the battle was his way of teaching Ollie a lesson. If he were to survive the fall, maybe he would be worth of second chance, and he could end Malcolm for him.
Exactly. The beautiful thing here is that they don't need as good ratings as the other shows, they have freaking Marvel/Disney to keep them on, Same thing with OUAT, but AoS is even more safe, cause they kind of move the plot of the "world" between movies, is like buying your own advertising hour on a premium spot.
Wonder if Oliver will be joining the league... And also when Thea is finally find out about all of this? And when Malcom will be willing to engage in this case? Don't leave Oliver alone. Just don't
Theres gotta be a pit, Ra's said it was 67 years since someone challenged him. Maybe the pit is the source of the Mirikiru? Ugh...looong wait for answers!
There was a Marc Guggenheim interview on comicbookresources.com
What kind of discussions has there been about the Lazarus Pits, which is an important part of Ra's al Ghul's mythology?
I think the best answer to that question is to direct you to the end of episode 4, and the very first time we saw Ra's. That's the best way I can answer without spoiling things
yes, in my mind the only way possible is Lazarus Pits. and Ra's Al Ghul is not Ra's Al Ghul without his Lazarus Pits and every show that use Ra's, they have to use Lazarus too even if it's grounded. i don't know why i'm thinking it was a way to kill Oliver Queen Oliver Queen and he will start to train him or something like that.
I have never watched any of Arrow's promo in advance but for this episode i had to make an exception.Guys,i am not a comic book fan,so can someone clear up how can possibly oliver survive this?Everyone is mentioning something called lazarus pit-what is that?A resurrection fountain?
Can't stop watching this. It's like a train wreck you see coming and can't stop it. Again and again. It hurts. It hurts so good/bad.
But I think, Ra's might use the Lazarus Pit to save Oliver. That, or he'll save him with medical support or some other way. That stab wound was certainly grievious, but not deadly, because it missed the heart. And Oliver didn't drop down the whole mountain-side, he landed on a ledge. Therefore, in my opinion it is highly likely he survived both, the stabwound and the fall. If that is the case, it won't stay that way, of course, if he isn't found and tended to.
I think, Ra's might see in him a worthy addition to the league - more worthy than most, because he praised Oliver "You have stood up longer to me then most." (And please consider how old he is!) - if he is able to save the Arrow and turn him/his mind to his own cause.
There are other reasons I think Ra's might save Oliver: Ra's could have delivered a fatal stabwound, ensuring certain death; he didn't, thus giving Oliver a small chance for survival, maybe to proof that he is worthy. The words/last rites he said to Oliver before kicking him of the plateau could have hint a something 'Save him from.. etc.'.
Also, have you noticed what seemed like some kind of 'arabic' writing on the arrow-head in the new arrow intro. Together with the producer's explanation that this season is all about Oliver's identy and Oliver finding his way back to being Oliver, this might indicate that Oliver might be 'turned' in some way and has to find/fight his way back to being the Oliver Dig, Felicity, Roy and we all know.
Another reason. Somebody must have send Maseo to retrieve Oliver's body (Promo), it could have been The Demon himself.
So here is what I think: 1. The Demon send Maseo to collect Oliver's body - dead or alive. 2. Since he's alive, survived the stabwound, the fall and stood against him in fight longer than most, Ra's sees him as worthy addition to the league, maybe even some kind a surrogate son (since he called him that, I don't know.) 3. He saves Oliver's life, wether by the Lazarus Pit or some other means. 4. He turns Oliver's mind, through the Lazurus Pit, some kind of brain washing, threats (to someone's life) or memory loss or something else. I think it will probably through some form of brain wash. 5. Oliver stays with the league, at least for a while. That also explains Stephen Amell's 9 days of in October (I think), because we'll only see Oliver Queen in Flasbacks and in short sequences in Nanda Parbat. 7. Ra's trains Oliver to become an even better fighter and Oliver becomes a full member/assissin in the league. 8. Team Arrow finds out Oliver is alive and try to bring him back - Starling City and to being Oliver Queen.
I don't think they can have Oliver join the league. DC Comics gives them some leeway to veer off the story but not that much. It would be completely change the trejectory of the show.
Well you're gonna look like an idiot and noob when you're fighting a 600 year-old whose a master of combat. Only Batman would not. That or comics Slade.
Meh I'd argue he's not really very Batman-y now characterization wise anyway (even though he was a Batman rip-off in the comics at first). But that is the plan from what I've heard to have him become Green Arrow.
where did you hear this.......I just have a feeling there a reason why they choose him to die since his rebirth perhaps the media/police will called him as Green Arrow since the media will notice another archer in town but is red
I believe Kreisberg and Guggenheim have mentioned before how he will be called Green Arrow. And how his entire arc as a character is about Oliver regaining his humanity and really coming to terms with who he is and what he wants to be(hence the season identity arc). Plus ever since the first season he's started becoming more open, relaxed, humorous and at times sarcastic. He seems to be evolving to be more of the traditional Green Arrow.
Hydra are like roaches. They may not be an overpowering force as they once were, they've adapted over the years and now into smaller "subdivisions". Plus they can't kill Whitehall yet, he still needs to become the Kraken. In season 1 Garret may have been killed off rather quickly but he still had a mech suit like he does in the comics, so I think they'll bring Whitehall back and give him a proper send off (the below pic is him as Kraken)...I'm hoping Skye just completely wrecks him with her seismic powers...think Daisy Johnson against Wolverine in the Secret War arc...boom! Exploding heart.
Or they could be doing something from Batman: Under the Hood story, like with what Ra's did with Jason Todd. Maybe Oliver will go all crazy or something and be warped with his sense of justice.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
oh snap!!!
ReplyDeleteThe neverending wait has begun...
ReplyDeleteRa`s shoes! He'll train him I guess
ReplyDeleteI just cursed Stephen out. I know he'll see it, and know that it was meant with love. Omg!! I can't. That was too much. My heart can't take this.
ReplyDeleteHe is INCREDIBLE at interacting with fans of the show. Gotta love him despite the plain torture he and the entire cast and crew put us through tonight.
ReplyDeleteI love him so much....it's unhealthy.
ReplyDeletewhy would Rah bring him back........maybe because he see that Oliver willing to stand up to him
ReplyDeleteThe only reason why I can think Ra's would save Oliver is so that Oliver would be in his debt. The settlement of that debt could be killing Malcomb. ReplyDeleteYou might be right, but I think Maseo comes to the resue !
ReplyDelete6 weeks that nothing compare to AoS two months
ReplyDeleteOh yes, don't even get me started on that. That's even worse :(
ReplyDeletei totally expected that last 5 min and do any of u guys know how much time would have passed when 310 returns???
ReplyDeleteAre we going to get an extended promo or will they just leave us hanging - get it; until closer to episode 10???
ReplyDeleteJustin: Im not even sure Shield is gonna be renewed for a 3rd season yet. I was pretty disappointed in how weak HYDRA as an enemy was in the end.
ReplyDeleteI really do dislike cliffhangers, And what kind of title is "Left Behind"? And what is up with this promo "and Oliver Queen is dead" OK I guess it wasn't a cliffhanger after all and episode 10 is the series final which will have Oliver dying and the funeral.
ReplyDeleteYah, I think it's Maseo. The voice is Maseo's also in the promo.
ReplyDeleteI hate when this happens. Oliver looked absolutely retarded for most of that fight. Ra's made him look like a very novice fighter and he's much better than what he showed. ReplyDeleteGET UP RIGHT NOW OLIVER QUEEN!!!!!, DO YOU HEAR ME???!!!!!!!! so how big a time jump will we get?
ReplyDeleteI believe they won't be an extended version because of the 6 weeks plus The Flash never show one either
ReplyDeleteI think the Oliver Queen is dead is meant figuratively. It's like when someone joins the League they stop being who they were and become someone else.
ReplyDeleteIt was never really a cliffhanger to begin with, as he is the main lead after all.
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt that with the introduction of the Inhumans that the show will be renewed for as many seasons as marvel sees fit lol
ReplyDeleteI thought the same at the end of season 1 with how they played Garret, but the inhuman storyline is more my style.
ReplyDeleteif he is what do you think his name will be
ReplyDeleteAshim Al Aakdar?
ReplyDeletethat's what I hear when I put Green Arrow thru Translation on google
I know he isn't dead not really, that line was most likely something said right after Demon Head pushed Oliver over the cliff. ReplyDeleteIt could be Merlyn.........he mention in a interview in November he doing a 3.09 that is cold and wet so........
ReplyDeleteWho could that be? Maseo?? Tatsu?? Malcolm Merlyn?? Nyssa?? Zombie Tommy?? Zombie Sara??? or Ra's himself??
ReplyDeleteREALLY?!!!! That's the promo you give us after that episode?!
ReplyDeleteProbably hanging (yeah I got it)
ReplyDeleteSo, how is Oliver going to survive this? ReplyDeleteIt's As-Sahm Al Akhdar.
ReplyDeleteCool nice to know correct spelling.
ReplyDeleteI was trying to decipher what the robot was saying that's the closest I got.
Since we're correcting pronunciations, every single actor is saying Ra's wrong. It's Ra's with an S sound, not Raz and most definitely not Rashe or however Nyssa says it. That one has been bugging me since last season.

ReplyDelete"Survive" - the last word his father said to him.
ReplyDeleteSadly. it's actually three months.
ReplyDeleteThis is just a teaser. It's too early for a bigger promo that might show Black Canary.
ReplyDeleteThey do this every year before midseason break. The bigger promo will come in January likely a week before the next episode.
ReplyDeleteCan't stop watching this. It's like a train wreck you see coming and

ReplyDeletehow did they not get sick being half naked in that cold
ReplyDeleterestraining order.. please sign here......here......and here. hehe
ReplyDeleteYep Oliver got OWNED.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'm not Sheldon Cooper.
ReplyDeleteSigh. A part of me doesn't want to see the new episode. I don't think I will be able to handle watching their reactions when they find out :(
ReplyDeleteIt feels like some sort of torture what they are doing to us now making us wait so long to see the fallout. Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteWow!! That was awesome! One of the best hours of Arrow in three seasons.
ReplyDeleteYes for me it's Rass and it always be the head of the Ogre or monster not necessary the demon lol
ReplyDeleteDoesn't sound like him.
ReplyDeleteThe Joker case was great.
ReplyDeleteMore like Green Arrow Begins. Except no league training.
ReplyDeleteMirakuru is a tad more potent in terms of strength and speed than the pits. I could see it though.
ReplyDeleteOh god. That would be hilarious. Then Oliver would bitch that he uses crossbows.
ReplyDeleteWell you're gonna look like an idiot and noob when you're fighting a 600 year-old whose a master of combat. Only Batman would not. That or comics Slade.
ReplyDeletepossible maybe the rebirth of true Green Arrow from the comic and less bat-arrow!

ReplyDeleteIt's my best guess since I don't think they'll use supernatural elements on the show.
ReplyDeleteArrow/Flash January 20 is taking forever...
