I didn't think Growing Up Fisher was bad. I watched it, but I don't miss it. It was kind of the same thing every week and the daughter annoyed me but it was ok.
Sean Saves the World though was terrible. It all has to do with who can carry a show. I mean, I think J.K. Simmons can. Sean Hayes, on the other hand, can't, and I thought the same as the guy who stars in About A Boy
My pick from the pilots was Odyssey, largely because it hit the ground running, but Allegiance looks to be a slow burner. I'd rank Odyssey ahead of The Blacklist, then Allegiance, then Crisis.
Absolutely. Though I must say that State of Affairs has improved quite a bit since its pilot, but the pilot is definitely the weakest episode of that series.
The networks have yet to make one of these cable inspired shows into a hit, I think your level of annoyance is going to low (more viewers than The Americans because it is on NBC).
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
OMG!
ReplyDeleteFinally!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited for this!
Looks pretty good might even Check it out
ReplyDeleteLooks better than I expected. Might give it a chance.
ReplyDeleteThe Americans?
ReplyDelete75% The Americans
ReplyDelete25% Homeland (son works at the CIA).
Looks like a more mainstream version.
ReplyDeleteI think it'll do better than NBC's Midseason dramas from last season.
Seen the pilot and was very impressed. This is going to be a great series
ReplyDeleteI think this looks pretty good, I will give it a try
ReplyDeleteI personally liked Odyssey a lot better than Allegiance.
ReplyDeleteI was asking if the quality of Odyssey/Allegiance was on part or better than the quality of the Blacklist/Crisis
ReplyDeleteThe good things is it won't have to compete with htgawm
ReplyDeleteChicago PD and the Blacklist were good.
ReplyDeleteThe comedies last year were REALLY horrible, with the exception of About A Boy.
The blacklist was proabably the best on broadcast last year
ReplyDelete(Don't care for PD)
But I was referring more to their midseason ( believe and crisis )

I agree. I enjoyed About A Boy because it had a pretty strong ensemble with the excellent Minny Driver.
ReplyDeleteGrowing up Fisher was good. Inoffensive and forgettable but not necessarily bad like TMJFS and SSTW.
Speaking of TMJFS I tried to stick with it but I gave up after 3 episodes.
My pick from the pilots was Odyssey, largely because it hit the ground running, but Allegiance looks to be a slow burner. I'd rank Odyssey ahead of The Blacklist, then Allegiance, then Crisis.
ReplyDeleteThe answer to that would be yes from me.
ReplyDeleteThat's good to hear. Do you think the pilot for Allegiance is engaging enough to capture "the Blacklist" viewers?
ReplyDeleteIf they're Blacklist viewers who like Homeland or slow burning thrillers in general, then almost definitely yes
ReplyDeletehave you seen Aquarius
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jimmy, the quality is definitely on par. I would rank Odyssey first, then The Blacklist, then Crisis and then Allegiance.
ReplyDeleteWas wondering when one of the broadcast networks would catch on to The Americans and make one of their own. I'll be checking it out.
ReplyDeleteAll of which are better than the State of Affairs pilot I'm sure! :D
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely. Though I must say that State of Affairs has improved quite a bit since its pilot, but the pilot is definitely the weakest episode of that series.
ReplyDeleteThis is probably gonna annoy me and do well in the ratings when everyone should be watching The Americans instead.

ReplyDeleteNBC hasn't released a screener for it, yet.
ReplyDeleteThis looks awful a lot like a version of The Americans.
ReplyDeleteNo, hasn't come up yet. Not sure it's my thing though.
ReplyDeleteOdyssey sounds really good
ReplyDeleteI will heck it out, as I'm missing a good spy show because I'm to fond of the Americans one.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't going to watch but this promo is definitely making me reconsider.
ReplyDeleteoh ok
ReplyDeleteThat isn't to say I won't check it out if we do get it to look at beforehand.
ReplyDeleteVery excited!!!
ReplyDeleteOHMY
ReplyDeleteI'm so gonna watch this.
Looks real good.
