From there, I voted for Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, and Angela Bassett. But I'd also like to see Finn Whitrock return, and maybe bring back Matt Bomer and give him more to do!! Also, I wish Kate Mara could come back at some point, her character annoyed me in the first season, but I love her as an actress! I hope they bring a few new faces into the regular roles next year, Whitrock has been brilliant this season.
Couldn't agree more. But even if they brought her back, and gave her more of a supporting role, and let someone new or even Bassett take the lead, that would be okay too. I do think she's great, but this season has been my least favourite in regards to her character and performance.
From the ones who aren't starring in the current season: Lily Rabe and Connie Britton but until Nashville is cancelled, she probably won't be returning.
I agree. Both Bassett and Bates have been given so little to do this season so far, it's such a waste of talent. I recommend an article published by he AV Club titled "Unless AHS stops repeating itself, it should end". I agree with it completely.
I'm pretty sure it'll be Nashville's last season (even though I don't watch it)...Btw wasn't it announce as the final one? I;'d looove love love to see her back. Tired of Taissa and Evan (though I think Jimmy's actually my fav character of his on AHS). Why don't they lure Vera in? Can't she manage to juggle two shows? *wink*
I've never been a fan of hers... The only time I liked her was in the Blind Side and in Coven... While of course she is a far superior actress in comparison to Roberts, I don't see why people hate Roberts so much... I've enjoyed both of her characters on AHS
Zachary Quinto and Lily Rabe are the best, I hope they'll be back next season. And, of course, Frances Conroy, even with small roles she always gets the attention. On the other hand, Finn Wittrock really surprised me this season with Dandy, it would be interesting to see him back as I don't know much about this actor. And Kathy Bates and Angela Basset as THE leading female characters! As regards Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson, both of them are wonderful actresses and I'd love to see them again, but I think the problem with them is the roles they are given. Jessica did the same kind of character every season; Constance, Jude, Fiona and Elsa are practically the same person with different backgrounds. I would give her something completely different in season 5 (a man? just saying...), I'm sure that such a hell of an actress could play any role. And Sarah Paulson... maybe a minor character next season? I'm a bit tired of having her as the main one since Asylum. To sum up, I think that the biggest issue the whole series has is that actors and actresses are given similar roles each season. It's like producers didn't take advantage of the fact that AHS is an anthology.
I would love to see Finn Wittrock again in a new role. I'm so impressed with his character this season 4. Surprised he's not in this poll. I'd just love to see everyone again so I just voted for 3 people.
I never said I hate Emma. I am kinda indifferent to her this season. I loved her as Madison though. Point is IMHO Kathy Bates has so much more to bring into the show than her, both because of her talents & experience.

Evan Peters was excellent as Tate in Murder House, maybe one of the best characters of AHS ever. But then... reeeeeally loose.
