While I do love me some Winchester, I have found myself dreading to watch S10 lately. I'm 3 episodes behind. There's a lack of an overall story-arc. The Men of Letters and the Tablets were exciting to watch but after that, S9 was pretty disconnected. Too much monster of a week and scattered storylines while in my opinion, the Winchesters need to regroup with Cas. They need to end this before it's too late.
ReplyDeleteWell, personally I love s10 so far (except for 10x04) and I hope we will see SPN hitting the 300 mark!
ReplyDeleteI want to say that this will be the last season but seeing as it is a cash cow for the CW and WB, I don't think it will be the last season. I think that as long as the Js want to continue and there are viewers to watch it-- it will continue.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Season 10 or 11 but the goal was to end the series with 10 seasons.
ReplyDeleteMaybe: Season 12 or 13? But they are wonderful as the show, they can continue much more, all that they want. For me, I hope that Supernatural never ends!!! Best show ever!! ♥
ReplyDeleteAnother 1-3 seasons, provided the ratings don't drop too far.
ReplyDeleteI see them pushing for a spinoff, letting them run together for a bit and then ending Supernatural. If they're close enough to 250 or 300 I could see a short renewal to get them something extra in syndication
If they tone down the angel stuff (or end the Angel stuff completely) then I wouldn't mind it if they continued past 300 though.
I'm guessing season 12. It definitely won't be this season (they will want to advertise it as the final season before it starts, and they won't end it without trying a spinoff again). I doubt it will be next season, as Pedowitz and the boys have both said that they can see it continuing for a years to come. So I think it will end after season 12. Maybe 13, but I hope it will be 12.
ReplyDeleteWho's goal?
ReplyDeleteHallelujah! No more Angel crap in the show PLEASE! Haha.
ReplyDeleteI was torn between 11 and 12 seasons, but voted 12. I wouldnt mind it ending this season but I think will at least go one more. If Jared and Jensen want to break into movies they will need to do it sooner rather later.
ReplyDeleteTill the last breathing fan.
ReplyDeleteI think they have completely wasted the potential of the MOL. All the other storylines you've mentioned are still current and going (albeit slowly). I also think they lack a decent storyline for Sam.
ReplyDeleteare you referring to Carver's 3 year (and absolute crap) plan?
ReplyDeleteI voted until 12 season, but I really hope it ends soon. I'm a huge fan of Supernatural, but the show isn't that good anymore. This season is boring, last episode was terrible. I love when they do filler episodes, they've made so good ones, but, I don't know, it's not working for me. I watch it because I want to see an end, a good one; the show and the fans need it!!!
ReplyDeleteAs long has it wants .Regardless of quality as long has people watch and Jared and Jensen want to do it.
ReplyDelete100000 years
ReplyDeleteit will surpass Gunsmoke in episodes' and will see reruns into 2050 AD
ReplyDeleteNo matter how long it goes on I'll keep watching. I think it'll only end once one or both of the guys want to end it.
ReplyDeleteI have a weird OCD about the number of seasons a show has though. I like some sort of symmetry to it so I didn't want it ending at Season 9 and I don't want it ending at season 11 because they're a weird number of seasons.
12 is good (5 of Kripke, 2 of Gamble, 5 of Edlund)
13 would be kind of perfect for a show called Supernatural.
Anything after that would still be good too (except 17 and 19)
Voted for one but it will most probably go on for two more. There aren't many things to explore now except, well, God or wait for it... Jesus.
ReplyDeleteI'd stick around till season 15 if they finally go there.
I don't know. All I remember is that they decided they were going to end the series with 10 seasons.
ReplyDeleteJensen had said he would like to go at least one ep more than Smallville, just to be able to kid Tom Welling they made it longer.
ReplyDeleteI think two more. Yet I voted for three more because of the superstitious number and the milestone of Jensen turning 40
ReplyDeleteI agree, honestly its been omg 7 years with this stuff. I'm so over it.
ReplyDeleteThis show has been there on Tv for quiet a long time now. Get it over with, already!!
ReplyDeleteCarver only said he had a '3 year arc' plan (S8/9/10) and not that S10 would be the final season. I think Carver's 'modifying' his original plan 'on the fly' to allow for at least one more season (S11) even if it's a short one. I'm pretty sure The CW wants to break the US Scifi/fantasy genre tv show records set by SG1 and Smallville - both 10 seasons, SMV had a higher episode count.
ReplyDeleteMy maximum would be two more seasons. Even if they want, i don't think that they can go over the two more seasons.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I want the boys back - together - combing through the MoL records and 'magic' for any way to remove the MoC from Dean. It's in character for Sam to be a more dedicated researcher while Dean is more action oriented, actively trying to find Cain for example.
ReplyDeleteThe question is: will people kero watching it?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't keep going after season 7, I started feeling there was no end game and that it lost focus without that. So, will people keep watching it for several seasons to come?
If so, I can see SPN reaching as far as 15 seasons as long as the numbers sticks. If the leads want to call it a quit it is over, but if they are willing, the show could be on the air for over 15 seasons like SVU
Technically 5 of Carver. Edlund left and went to Revolution.
ReplyDeleteI think the success with Supernatural is the fact that it gains viewers, even as it loses them. A lot of old faithfuls or die hards seem to have quit after a certain season or story line but new ones come in who don't have the nostalgia for the earlier episodes that some viewers do.
ReplyDeleteHaha you're right. I always make that mistake thanks to Chuck's penname being Carver Edlund.
ReplyDeleteI'm so used to the TV series Supernatural that can not even imagine what it will end sometime. I understand that everything comes to an end, but this serial so sunk into the soul that is ready to watch it without end! Would like to ask for the creators and the authors of the series Supernatural continue to shoot more and more seasons !!!!
ReplyDeleteI voted season 11 because I want Supernatural's final season to be amazing. I think the current season is falling very short of that goal. I want this show's final season to hit it on all points ... the relationship between the brothers, a few monsters of the week, and a conclusion to the gates of heaven and hell story. Most importantly, I want a well-planned story arc for Sam and Dean full of action and suspense that will leave the audience very satisfied in saying goodbye the Winchesters and very glad that they stayed with this show through the great and not so good storylines.
ReplyDeleteI think it will be 12 seasons, but it should end with TVD next season to go on top!
ReplyDeleteGiven the goal was to end the show at 5 seasons, I doubt it.
ReplyDeleteHuman!Cas learning to be a hunter would be great.
ReplyDeleteTVD should end with the Winchesters coming to town.
ReplyDeleteI want it go on forever! But its either probably going to end this season or next
ReplyDeleteThey all got signed on for 10 more seasons.... don't think it will last that long though. They are running low on ideas
ReplyDeleteI also think a lot of people watch it because they got super attached to the characters. I love these boys to pieces, I love Cas, in a way I love Crowley. This season has been nothing but boring, but I watch anyway. Out of sentiment or because I simply got used to it or maybe because subconsciously I still believe it's capable of delivering the same quality as a couple of years ago. And because it used to be the best show ever for years before it started its downfall.
ReplyDeleteLonger than it should but not longer than some fans want? I see it going for a few more years (3-4) provided the contracts can be worked out. Quite honestly I think the time for Jensen and Jared to be able to leave the show and get on something bigger or start a movie career is over. Not that I don't think they are capable of doing other fantastic things because they are, but the window of opportunity is so short in Hollywood and I think it's pretty much passed them by already. At this point, as long as they have fans and demos, they could roll this thing for several more years.
ReplyDeleteAs long as the ratings are good. With how steady it is it could be years. Maybe when the show is completely different and about Supernatural book fans hunting demons it will be low enough the channel will end it.
ReplyDeleteShould have ended 5 seasons ago, but I digress....
ReplyDeleteTo answer the question: I think if they'd come in knowing S10 was going to be the last one, then I'd say this season. As things are I think they might need one or two more seasons to wrap things up.
So I'll say 11-12 seasons
I'd be very fine with it going into its final season any time now. I personally think they should do it as long as they still got some material left to make a full packed season.
ReplyDeleteIMO the ideal time was after the original run of 5 seasons, though I think Season 6 wasn't that bad in retrospective (the Leviathans were a big disappointment to me).
My realistic guess is not this year, not the year after but Season 12 as the last.
I think the better question is "when should it have ended?". Look, I love my Winchester boys but the writers dragged out their story for too long. Give the boys some peace and end it.
ReplyDeleteUntil either Jensen or Jared die of old age.
ReplyDeleteHahaha!
ReplyDelete"The crossover episode to top all crossover episodes!"
I voted for one more season but believe it will probably go on for two more seasons. I can't imagine it would go past that since they are - IMO at least - running out of material. The Carver seasons have been progressively worse but he did introduce a good concept w/the MOL. Perhaps the could do something w/that.
ReplyDeleteWhy should it end? "It's never gonna *be* over. There's gonna be others. There's always gonna be somethin' to hunt." (Ep. Shadow 1x16)
ReplyDeleteWhen finished I would like the comic continuation as like Smallville or Buffy.
