    Can someone clear this up for me-Last episode we saw in the FB that kai's father had the ascendent in his hand while he locked his son in the 1994 purgatory.So,how could kai have that ascendent in the first place which he showed to binnie and damon.His father would have made sure that he didn't have any.Please someone help.

    This was answered in another topic/elsewhere. Apparently the 1994 prison has a duplicate of everything bar people. So the Knife in 'our' reality also has Jo's magic in the prison realm. The Ascendant exists in the prison as well as in reality.

    Thats the way it was described to me anyway. I think its kinda crappy writing to basically give Kai an escape clause (needs Bennett blood? a side issue), but well there ya go.
