-Damon raped Caroline - I keep waiting for the show to actually acknowledge this. -Damon killed Aaron and his entire family -Damon did try to kill Bonnie back in Season 1 and Stefan had to save her -Damon forced his blood down Elena's throat against her will -Damon killed Matt & John (they mentioned him killing Jeremy & Alaric but forgot about the time he killed Matt) -Damon turned Isobel -Damon turned Bonnie's mother
If Elena really wanted her memories back, all she would have to do is step across the Mystic Falls town line then quickly step back across.
The way it was explained earlier in the season, people were damn near instantly de-compelled when they crossed so Elena would likely get her memories back before the Traveler bubble killed her. It wouldn't be a pleasant experience but it would do the trick. Of course, since this is TVD, that fact will probably be ignored.
He never raped Caroline. He compelled her for blood, not for sex. She jumped in bed with him for her own decision. It was wrong compelled her anyway, but there was NO rape.
For all the others things we have to analyse the context. The show is about vampires, not butterflies and rainbows. They all have killed people, for so many different reasons. Sometimes is more understandable than others, but this doesn't make anyone really a monster. Or, at least, everyone in there is a monster. There's no angel, and no demon.
Damon killed Matt to get Elena turn on her humanity back on, Matt was in on the plan and wore Jeremy's ring. He also knew Alaric was wearing the ring when he killed him. I could write more but I think it is lost on you anyway...
??? It's a clip that's literally nothing but the writers listing terrible things Damon has done and it sounds like this is the second half of the scene and Ric's been listing more bad things he's done before this. How is that "blatantly ignor[ing] all the terrible things he's done"?!
The argument is that by compelling away her ability to care about him being a vampire, he destroyed her ability to really consent, making it rape. I get why people feel that way (except most don't seem to take the same stance about Stefan's compelled ripper dates, imagine my shock) but IMO it's obvs the show never intended it to be seen as rape; they saw it as an abusive relationship and have addressed it as such.
I love Dalaric so much! It's great seeing them together again although I'm not very convinced about the reason why Elena hasn't recovered her memories when Alaric died.It sounds like an excuse.
I'm not looking forward to the epic Delena moment (just not a fan, and I prefer the bromances/family bonds <3), but I agree, and that's good, because it's the logical thing to do. Even if it is a little risky. xD
See now this was the dalaric scene i was looking for. A nice conversation, some playing around, jokes. Wasn't really thinking it'd be a trip in the HOSPITAL, (I'm still sore about Alaric turning back so quickly) but Damon coming to visit him just makes it sweeter. I feel like Damon will mention jello. hahaha
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
