The last thing I want is for The Originals to expand this part of the show's mythology. Klaus spends way too much time whining about his childhood as it is. Let's not add more fuel to the fire.
They`ll bring back his dad, then his sister, then his brother and finally his grandmother. The final episode will show Klaus, Esther, Hayley, Hope, his dad and siblings sitting around a campfire, singing "Hallelujah" while Tyler watches from afar wimpering a quiet "mommy" out with Elijah standing right next to him with a giant "will work for family" sign around his neck
Yea. Just dont make my Elijah mean. A little dark is ok but not to much. Dont get Tatia and Elijah still, its like they are rewriting history. And where is Elijah????
I think Elijah turning bad for the remainder of season 2 is inevitable. Remember: we got to meet Elijah as a villain and I would argue that of all TVD villains he was the scariest.
Come on! Klaus doesn't need more things to whine about... Why don't we focus more on the present? And this is coming from someone that loves flashbacks in every shape and form.
I agree. I think Elijah was a better villain on TVD than Klaus ever was. Klaus is pretty predictable, but Elijah always seemed like the one you'd have to watch because he could just turn on a dime in a way that the other Originals don't.
I would be ok if Elijah killed Esther. More obstacles for Elijah and Haley. First Haley was dark now Elijah. Maybe it wont last that long. I liked Klaus better in the first season.
"in a fit of rage you wrapped your hands around my neck and squeezed til i died, do you remember why?" Who gives a shit. Klaus has never been a favorite of mine, but i'd take his side over yours, you crazy bitch. lol
Elijah in S2 was the best Elijah imo. I hate how the writers act like his bad side is always a surprise when it was actually the way he was introduced.
Hmmm....I think they are trying to show the complexity of the character....how people are nurtured versus nature....? No one is born evil (nature), evil people are nurtured into being. Klaus was a child after all, and his evilness was nurtured by very dysfunctional parents.....the point I believe is for the viewers to understand that his evil nature is not just random but stems from his childhood ....they are trying to acquaint us with this....not soo much to gain our sympathies as viewers but more to develop a deeper understanding of the character. This is like a pseudo redemption, as he can never be redeemed, and he is not looking for it, but he can be better understood. Also, the guy is a parent now, and he will not be able to be one without coming to grips with his dysfunctional upbringing.
Best scene ever. They need to recreate those early moments as that was terrifying....being invited in was no big thing for these guys on TVD all they had to do was blow and houses fell down.
Esther and Mikael are the most irresponsible parents. Kills me how they won't just die already and let their kids have a life of their own. This to me is more psychologically disturbing....
I wasn't completely genuine there, true Klaus is slowly becoming a more understandable character. As long as the writers try NOT to retcon parts of his past as a cheap way to make fans feel sorry for him I'm more than fine.
Turning Klaus into a better person in the current day arc is better than editing out certain parts of the canon.
Like Elijah killing Tatia, I don't need another twist like that (although I like the prospect of dark Elijah)
I love old Esther....but I also recognize the talents of this actress, who is in fact legendary and has more credentials to her name. The Originals are really lucky to have her IMO.
The weird thing is I actually liked him in season 2, and sort of in season 6. But everything else (especially his appearance on The Originals) just too awful.
That's not really a retcon. More of a just not seeing Klaus in a flashback. The writers wouldn't have Elijah learned he kill Tatia if they weren't planning on having Klaus learn it to (which he will, because Elijah is Elijah and will tell him or Esther will).
I Was happy when they both came back, but now not so much. I just want them to meet now, (i'm dying to see their reactions and interactions after all this time) and then after that I want their SL to be over.
There is no way that they are going to redeem Klaus. Who would want that? However, we as viewers can definitely understand some of his motivations. This show reminds me of a mob show - super violent one....except now we can understand it from the killers perspective....kinda.....
I will admit that I too am dying to see what they will have to say to one another....I don't think their kids will start to heal unless they do have a conversation and air out their grievances. The issues that their children have and are struggling with are ones of their parents making. They have a lot to answer for and much to atone for.
Yea I was happy when they named the baby Hope, good name. I am all for Elijah turning badass and killing Esther but I don't want him to be to dark. I am a Elijah and Haley fan and now I feel that he will be afraid to get close to her. I still don't think that he killed Tatia
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteUgh. More retconns. Klaus killed Esther by ripping out her heart - and now that's being retconned?
ReplyDeletewe're talking the writers that are hellbent to turn Klaus into the ultimate saint, what did you expect?
ReplyDeleteDon't think so
ReplyDeleteYea. Just dont make my Elijah mean. A little dark is ok but not to much. Dont get Tatia and Elijah still, its like they are rewriting history. And where is Elijah????

ReplyDeleteI don't care what anyone says I don't want Elijah to be ruined. Some dark is ok but not totally dark.
ReplyDeleteI would be ok if Elijah killed Esther. More obstacles for Elijah and Haley. First Haley was dark now Elijah. Maybe it wont last that long. I liked Klaus better in the first season.
ReplyDeletelol you're name's Hope were you happy when Baby Hope was named
ReplyDeleteMac gonna have to disagree on that. The writers are still portraying him as an psychopathic asshole.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that it'll actually be retconned. Probably more fleshed out.
ReplyDeletePlease no Tyler.
ReplyDelete"in a fit of rage you wrapped your hands around my neck and squeezed til i died, do you remember why?" Who gives a shit. Klaus has never been a favorite of mine, but i'd take his side over yours, you crazy bitch. lol
ReplyDeleteNo pun intended? What with Elijah being capable of using dimes etc to blow up the outside of the IT cafe where Rose etc were :P
ReplyDeleteAll this scene would have been so much powerful with the real esther..... Lenore doesn't have any chemistry with nicklaus or elijah.....
ReplyDeleteElijah in S2 was the best Elijah imo. I hate how the writers act like his bad side is always a surprise when it was actually the way he was introduced.
ReplyDeletethis sounds like a good episode to me why is everyone annoyed about this storyline
ReplyDeleteJesus how fucking hard is it for these writers to remember what happend on TVD?
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. Can't think of a character that I detest more.
ReplyDeleteHmmm....I think they are trying to show the complexity of the character....how people are nurtured versus nature....? No one is born evil (nature), evil people are nurtured into being. ReplyDeleteI am totally with you on this. Elijah was pretty terrifying in TVD at the beginning.
ReplyDeleteBest scene ever. They need to recreate those early moments as that was terrifying....being invited in was no big thing for these guys on TVD all they had to do was blow and houses fell down.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, you and I are on the same page! :)
ReplyDeleteEsther and Mikael are the most irresponsible parents. Kills me how they won't just die already and let their kids have a life of their own. This to me is more psychologically disturbing....
ReplyDeleteBut she is damned scary!
ReplyDeleteReally ??!!! Because she doesn't scare me at all lol ... The real esther have this cold and twisted charisma that lenore doesn't have....
ReplyDeletewhy's the coffin?? Alice Evans returns?? way better than this Lenore witch.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't completely genuine there, true Klaus is slowly becoming a more understandable character.

let's hope so, I like Lenore but Alice Evans IS Esther
ReplyDeleteI love old Esther....but I also recognize the talents of this actress, who is in fact legendary and has more credentials to her name. The Originals are really lucky to have her IMO.
ReplyDeleteYeah, my hope is that they'll just flesh it out more. I do hope we see a Dark Elijah.
ReplyDeleteThat is pretty much the entire point of this show for Klaus' character.
ReplyDeleteThe weird thing is I actually liked him in season 2, and sort of in season 6. But everything else (especially his appearance on The Originals) just too awful.
ReplyDeleteThey retconned Tatia. In Season 3 Elijah claimed that nobody loved more than Klaus - but that wasn't seen at all in the flashback.
ReplyDeleteThat's not really a retcon. More of a just not seeing Klaus in a flashback. The writers wouldn't have Elijah learned he kill Tatia if they weren't planning on having Klaus learn it to (which he will, because Elijah is Elijah and will tell him or Esther will).
ReplyDeleteyep, she is the ORIGINALS Esther :D if you know what I mean
ReplyDeleteNiklaus.
ReplyDeletewhat? she is on the coffin. and Esther's soul is in Lenore's body.. I am really hope, she will jump her originals (Evans) body.
ReplyDeleteI Was happy when they both came back, but now not so much. I just want them to meet now, (i'm dying to see their reactions and interactions after all this time) and then after that I want their SL to be over.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what you are trying to say here......
ReplyDeleteSadly I have always found him trifling. He is wayyyyyyy to annoying.
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
