Dumbest decision: The minute the marriage thing was brought up, I know it was going to happen. The writers don’t just throw this stuff in and then not use it. Personally, I don’t think this is a good move. I think Hayley seriously underestimates what she’s getting herself into. Especially if Hope get brought into the mix. Neither Klaus nor Elijah is going to be very happy about this. I don’t know what his opinion of Jackson is lately but I highly doubt Klaus wants him as his daughter’s stepdad. As for Hayley and Elijah, I’m don’t ship them but I know this is going to cause major angst for them. Which is another reason why I knew the writers would go through with it. I do wonder how Hayley’s immortality is going to play into this. I mean what happens after Jackson dies (of old age or other causes), do the wolves still have Hayley’s control of their form? I guess now it makes sense as to why the writers continued to have Jackson refer to Hayley as his almost-wife.
Biggest worry: Oh Elijah, something is seriously wrong there. There’s two options that came to mind. Somehow Esther is controlling him (doubtful though) or whatever Esther did seriously scrambled his brains. All through the episode we saw a more violent side of him. Suggesting dismemberment as a way of dealing with his siblings (which is more something I’d expect from Klaus) and of course we can’t forgot the mass murder at the diner. Good move on Rebekah’s part of snapping his neck instead of confronting him. We don’t know how dangerous he could be to people he loves. Not that Rebekah couldn’t handle herself but she has Hope to think about.
Reveal I saw coming: The minute they revealed that Cami had been prepared to be a vessel I knew it would be for Rebekah and not Esther. There’s no way Esther would jump into a human and lose her magic. However, this does make me worried that Rebekah will in fact be moved into Cami. If Esther is smart she’ll jump into Davina, she has access to a lot of magic and there’s no way Marcel would let anyone hurt her, possessed or not.
Best kiss: Yay for Josh. He deserves all the happiness he can get. He and Aiden are so cute together. But you know what a happy couple means on a show like this: it won’t last long. I have a feeling Aiden is not going to make it to the second half of the season. I hope I’m wrong though. On a side note, very happy that I finally got a scene between Josh and Davina. It was short, yes, but still better than nothing.
Best conversation: Since we first met Kol, his relationship with Klaus has been one of my favorites. He always seemed to crave Klaus’ approval or companionship (before things soured). I’d love to know more about their relationship as kids. Mini-Kol is the one we’ve seen the least of in flashbacks. I loved his talk with Klaus, probably one of the first time Klaus has actually just listened. I felt like this episode really showed Klaus’ progress since last season. Then he resorted to violence when he stood on opposite sides of his siblings. This time however he used words to persuade them to join him. It worked with Kol, who was never truly on Esther’s side (been saying that since day one). Finn however, remained loyal as ever to Esther, as expected. Well, at least Klaus found some use for Finn’s coffin.
What I need: Again, not much. More Rebekah would be nice. But really all I need is the Hope, Hayley and Klaus reunion. I’ve been waiting for this scene since the finale.
Best quotes:
Josh: “One thing I learned from Marcel? Loyalty sends a powerful message. And hey, look, if you get nervous, or like, need a vote of confidence or whatever, just remember that, uh, I think you’re pretty amazing.”
Cami: “When I see ‘ancient’ and ‘spell’ in the same sentence, I think Esther.”
Klaus: “A mother cares for her children. A monster does not.”
Only one episode left in the year 2014. Check in again next week and let me know in the comments what you thought of this week’s episode.
I feel like I forgot something important, guess I won't know until someone points it out. Anyway, figured I'd get the bad stuff out of the way first. Nothing against Jackson, it's the storyline I have a problem with.
ReplyDeleteDaniel was amazing in this episode. I love how he portrays Kol and that scene with Klaus was amazing. More Rebekah, please.
ReplyDeleteI like Jackson/Hayley better than Klaus/Hayley and way better than Elijah/Hayley. If she has to be with someone I want it to be Jackson - but I'm not into the forced marriage thing either, I just think PT has the most chemistry with Nathan and she's always been a werewolf at heart so they'd be the best match (just like I think her and Tyler could have had potential had she not stabbed him in the back on TVD).
ReplyDeleteSeems like Jackson just signed his own death warrant concerning Klaus' usual behavior under these circumstances. Not that Haley with any of the three is all that interesting. Not that hed kill Jackson over Hayley, but over Hope I'd guess, which probably the same Id guess at this point.
ReplyDeleteThe Originals is the best tv show eveer ;D
