  1. It's great to have this info in, cheers to Tigercheetah to the heads up on the PR in the filming thread. We're looking at Week 52, which is any time between 27th December to 2nd January for an air date now.

I've started looking into the de Foix family, this chap seems to be the best fit to the one mentioned, although the dates don't quite match up. Though the show has only taken pieces of historical lives before and rewritten them into the story in their own way, so I'm guessing this is the case here too.

  2. It feels a bit surreal that the new series is suddenly just 5 weeks away, after thinking it could be February, naughty Maimie McCoy lol...
For me personally, Thursdays aren't good ( working ) but at the same time, I want what's best for the show in terms of getting that series 3 and if starting on New Years Day is a good move ( especially if ITV has weak competition ) I won't complain too much and I'll be off New Years Day at least. Like you say, it's crucial that episodes 1 and 2 are well received by viewers in order for S2 to be a success.
It's good that we now have a basic premise for episode 1 and of course we can also add the spoilers / speculation regarding Aramis and Anne's child and Constance's promotion to that premise. I see there's no mention of Charlotte Salt in the cast list, which means either Marguerite doesn't appears in episode 1 or she doesn't have a major role yet.

  3. To be fair to Maimie I imagine she was only giving out the best information she had to hand at the time, these things change so quickly, lol. Hopefully we'll have a bit more of a definite date after the 2nd Dec, as that is when the Xmas schedule is due to be set in place this year :)

I'm assuming that this episode will deal mainly with getting Rochefort in place if we're to take the PR at face value. I guess that much of the rest of the season will only be touched upon and then gone into more detail in the next episode.

I see that Bonacieux is listed, so we will be seeing him even though there were no photos during filming which is good. I don't think we could see Constance successfully deal with the problems of married life if he wasn't going to be a visible force.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Soooo exciting! Can't believe it's almost here! Thanks Tigercheetah for the heads up. Looks like we were right that the Musketeers are retrieving Rochefort. Looking forward to the de Foix character. I'd expect Bonacieux to be nauseating and self-preening to the max. It'll be interesting to see what latest torment he has in store for Constance. For some reason, I think he might initially intend for them to leave Paris. Perhaps her role at Court is offered to her later in the episode when she binds with the Queen. Being at Court could restrict her relationship with D'Artagnan to some extent but at least it would allow them the opportunity to see each other on a regular basis.

  5. There's four main issues on my mind regarding episode 1 -

    A) do we have baby Aramis?
    B) How has Milady sneaked her way back into Paris?
    C) Will D'Artagnan and Rochefort have their traditional instant dislike of each other?
    D) does it appear that D'Artagnan and Constance will rekindle their affair almost straight away or are we playing the waiting game again?
    E) oh and is Constance already working for Queen Anne or does that come later?

    ReplyDelete
  6. I just hope we don't have too much "off screen" exposition. We know that the Cardinal will simply "be dead" essentially but I wouldn't like to see Cinstance and D'Artagnan back together with us being left to assume they must have resolved their issues after he was forced to walk away at the end of the first series. We need to actually see how they come back into each other's worlds again and how Constance comes to be seriously considering a path out of her loveless marriage, whether that's possible and what it would really mean for all concerned. I'm also looking forward to the Milady re-appearance and how they square Athos' pledge with her presence in Paris once again. The fate of baby Aramis is also intriguing. What's interesting about the episode synopsis is there is no real sense of picking these characters up from where they left off and no hint of the time lapse between series. This really makes me think this will be a nod to series one but very much a new dawn for these characters.

  7. One major advantage of a slightly earlier scheduling than last year, is that it gives the BBC a bit more time to "test" the series again, with the audience. They may not need to make a commitment to series three until much later in the series. That should give them time to consider the ratings and balance those factors against international sales and time shifted viewing. It should also mean that by the time BAFTA airs the series should have built enough excitement and momentum to hold the audience during the one week hiatus. As we've discussed before the enforced break during series one when the show hadn't yet established itself or generated any real momentum, was insane. If you want to establish a relationship, cancelling after only a couple of dates doesn't exactly inspire confidence or commitment.

  8. There's no guarantee that the show is going to stay on a Sunday, what with Ripper Street being moved for its second series and Poldark waiting in the wings. It all depends on which of the two shows the BBC considers to be better placed on a Sunday and whether the more 'action driven' Musketeers would better suit a weekday.

It's been said that primetime New Years Day involves Miranda and Mrs Browns Boys - the latter definitely going out around the 9pm or 10pm slot, so who knows.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Can anyone direct me to where this info has come from - I'm searching round the BBC press releases but just can't find it. Thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
  10. the BBC Media Centre..

    ReplyDelete
  11. That's where I'm looking. Whereabouts? Is it something only available to the media?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Nope, it's available to all, under week 52 like mentioned in my comment above :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. According to someone on the Digitalspy forums, their "digiguide" is listing The Musketeers as starting on Friday 2nd January, along with Benidorm or however you spell it. It's in the Ratings thread, where people are talking about Xmas and New Year TV.

I'm not sure whether Fridays is good or bad for the show, not good in terms of people going out but not bad in terms of drama competition?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Ok, thanks, week 52 isn't available as a drop down option for me but I did the Google search that got me there anyway. :)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Friday. Hmm. Not entirely sure that's a smart move if it proves to be the case. A busy evening for many, including me. As you say, it's an evening when being in front of the telly, isn't really a priority for many. Conversely of course, ratings expectations may be lower as a result. Putting it up against Benidorm is apples against oranges. Drama v comedy. On the one hand Benidorm has been on the slide for a while and they're losing several of the main characters this year, so it's potentially vulnerable. Also, the target demographic may be very different for the two series, so the BBC could feel that it's a safe harbour for The Musketeers. Lots of pros and cons. Overall, I would be a little nervous about that decision.

    ReplyDelete
  16. You're right of course. A return to Sunday is only a possibility. I couldn't really see them putting it on on New Years Day. On a big night, they'll bring out their tried and tested ratings winners.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I believe 'I'm a Celebrity' gets 8 million viewers on a Friday, so the viewing potential on a Friday night is there, it's just a question of whether episode 1 gets bums on seats and is well received by viewers. Also, with people going out partying / visiting relatives on New Years Eve and New Years Day, there might be a few more people at home on Friday 2nd than on an average Friday, again possibly working in the shows favour. And of course, more parents will allow older children to stay up on a Friday night than on a Sunday
Like you say, it's swings and roundabouts.
Episode 1 needs to be good though, in order to retain viewers.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Guys, can we please keep speculation on air dates, or anything else that is not specifically in this post, to the spoiler and speculation post for now please. Thank you :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oops! Sorry Sandi. Will do.😊

    ReplyDelete
  20. It's getting closer... YAY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. These are what I saw the night before the screening, and are why I said my speculation had to shut down, lol. Some of them are pretty revealing, but to be fair in the end they didn't actually spoil too much of the episode at all in the end :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. That pic of D'Artagnan kissing some blond lady is making me really sad. I hoped D'Artagnan wouldn't start messing around with a lot of women. :(

Sandi, I don't suppose you can say anything about that pic? If it's misleading? Or something???

I was hoping for a Constance/D'Artagnan reunion. But I guess it was wishful thinking on the part of the viewers. :(

Looks like D'Artagnan is sadly playing the field. Unless, that photo is misleading.

I thought Constagnan fans would get some happier times this season. We got so much angst in season 1 with them. I thought season 2 would be kinder to D'Artagnan/Constance fans...Oh well!

Let's hope they'll get back together soon.

    ReplyDelete
  23. There's some stuff that I'm really happy about here -
    d'Artagnan / Constance drama
    d'Artagnan / Athos friendship
d'Artagnan / King Louis growing acquaintance
    a baby.. :)
lots of stuff happening, as Sandi said..
Athos offering a hand to Rochefort
Milady obviously having the King's protection ( how will Athos react? )
I must say, I'm really happy to see d'Artagnan appearing to have a growing acquaintance with King Louis because I think it's really important for his growth that he 'starts' to have the King's trust, which may be built on in future series - if we get another series.
He may or may not be having a naughty moment with another woman but I think I'm one of those fans whose more prepared for it than others, if Constance isn't willing to be with him as a lover. Or it could be a distraction moment in order to escape.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I can't really say anything specific, as I said yesterday it's still too early really. Just remember that the showrunner is behind Constagnan as ship, he has said there will be obstacles and drama along the way though, as is to be expected of course. And remember that one woman isn't a lot of women :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. I saw all these the night before the screening and I got excited all over again :) So much to speculate over, but there was no-one to talk to, hence the :) :( :) :( in the filming post that night, it was very frustrating, lol! These were what I have also been hinting at the last few days, the other extras that have come through have been an nice bonus too. Lots to go on to get us through the weekend for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  26. In fairness it doesn't really look like his heart is in it. Not exactly the most enthusiastic if kisses in his part. I suppose it stands to reason that initially he may be trying to move on. Indeed it's possible that his brother Musketeers might see that as being for the best. The problem is, it's hard to move on when you love someone as much as he loves Constance. Even though she has no right to seek his fidelity, if she witnesses this scene...God that's going to hurt like Hell.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I think it would be unrealistic if other women didn't take an interest in d'Artagnan - he's a good looking guy - so as long as D'artagnan's true feelings stay with Constance, a bit of flattery on the side wouldn't annoy me too much.

    ReplyDelete
  28. He's a young, gorgeous guy. He's going to get some interest. At this point, he also thinks it's game over with Constance. It wouldn't be surprising if he shared a moment with someone else. The girl looks like she's been in the wars herself. Her hair and clothes are covered in dirt. It looks like a bit of an exploratory kiss rather than a moment of passion. Perhaps D'Artagnan has been involved in rescuing her and she's somewhat smitten...who could blame her. I think the issue of whether he can "move on" from Constance really had to be addressed early and clearly it will be. I've no problem with that.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Agree completely. They probably need to address this. They certainly need to address it before Constance starts to seriously contemplate leaving Bonacieux. Your heart does just kind of break for her though....😢

    ReplyDelete
  30. Don't worry too soon Juliet. I have a feeling true love will triumph in the end.😉

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ok....I guess I missed whatever pics you all are looking at! Sad day.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I must say, I'm intrigued as to how D'Artagnan ends up soaking wet and hiding behind a well in his undies!😍 Just the average day for a Musketeer I suppose...

    ReplyDelete
  33. Why did this get deleted before I had a chance to see it? Lol

    ReplyDelete
  34. Sandi, post again really fast so I can see them. Then delete them again. I won't tell! Ha

    ReplyDelete
  35. Here's the thing. We are all to assume that the two haven't had much contact for a significant amount of time. She ended the affair. He left. If there will be any other flirtation, it should be the first episode before repairs and reunions are made. That make all logical sense. He can't have spent the last year without some interaction with a woman.

    ReplyDelete
  36. It makes perfect sense for any flirtation to happen in the first episode. I've said before that ten episodes is too short to take their romance and throw in a love triangle and still resolve it. That would take too much screen time and turn it into the constagnan show. Episode 1 dalliance before Constance enters the picture again, I can handle that. Episode 6 dalliance after several episodes of build up and reunion, no thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  37. There'll appear again from midnight / tomorrow morning according to Sandi..

They're very good and very spoilery, with some great D'Artagnan ones. S2 does indeed look more dramatic and exciting.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well, to him Constance is unattainable. She said no. Until she says yes, he has options. Not sure how this is any different than Constance choosing to stay with her husband. Bet they have kissed a lot in the past year! Lol

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm glad you saw them! Feel bummed that I missed them to really chatter with you guys since we all have been so patient together. Oh well.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Well, Adrian did say that he faces some tough "physical challenges" in S2, as well as romantic ones.

S2 does look like it's going to be more dramatic for everyone involved. :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. There's the hangman to work on in the mean time ;)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh that must have been fun for Constance! I'm using mental bleach as I type.😁 She really is a poor, unfortunate soul...

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hahaha! Well, everyone always is so quick to assume that true love is dead if d'artagnan has other interests but Constance has been having marital relations with her husband the entire time. And she choose to stay with him. Just pointing out that she isn't a victim here. Lol. Now pass the bleach!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I keep voting and my letters don't get picked! Haha

    ReplyDelete
  45. Sadly, I get the sense that the physical side of her marriage is something of a chore for Constance. I think that was a significant part of her joy in falling in love with D'Artagnan. She was married an an obscenely young age, with no sense of what to expect of married life and most likely, very little knowledge or understanding about sex. When she tells Bonacieux that she didn't realise that she was unhappy until she met D'Artagnan, I think that's really powerfully telling. To go back to simply fulfilling her marital obligations after having known what it is to be truly happy and fulfilled, would be a nightmare for her. She's a "victim" of circumstance and having absolutely no options or freedom of choice, as a woman at that time. Passing the bleach.😄

    ReplyDelete
  46. Well, considering Constance and Bonacieux don't have children after several years of marriage, I can't see them having marital relations very often, if it all now. Bonacieux knows of his wife's infidelity and I wouldn't be surprised if that side of their relationship has stopped altogether. Constance is in love with another man and having relations with the husband you don't love would be hard in that situation.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Agree on all counts. But to assume that, even though it is a chore, nothing happens isn't fair to reality, in my opinion. Her husband is trying to keep her.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yes, but it's been a considerable about of time and he declares love for her and is trying to keep her. And I would think that denying him "marital rights" in that day and age would make her position worse. I don't think we can assume that they haven't had some sex (even if infrequent) even more than we can assume d'artagnan's pining causes him to turn away all other interests. Scoobie has mental bleach if you need it. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  49. I take your point. I'm just not sure that what's happening is born of attraction or a genuine willingness on her part. Which makes it pretty horrifying to contemplate. I think that side of her marriage is long dead if it ever really existed to any extent. I think she probably knows this is her "wifely duty" but that experience of sex is very different from the freedom of a young man having a consensual encounter with a woman he finds attractive. I think in her heart, she remains true to D'Artagnan. Alas because if her circumstances she has little control of her body. In those days that was owned by her husband.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Agree again! I always thought that it was a wifely duty from the start. When she told him that she didn't know she was unhappy, I think that included passion as well. I don't think she is enjoying anything at all! And I do think it makes her more pitiful as it is another example of her lack of choices in life.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think I mistakenly thought that Constance had left her husband during the hiatus since it looks like she is working for Queen Anne now. That's why I assumed Constance is single...hence seeing D'Artagnan kiss another female seemed odd to me.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Yeah, I'm sure Constance will notice the kiss. In the photos, it looks like she walks in on it. :(

    ReplyDelete
  53. I wonder why Jessica wanted to get the pix removed. I mean, the promo pix are to promote the show...they will be shown eventually.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I think a site posted them without permission. Violated copyright, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I mentioned in another post that I don't think she'll judge him no matter what has gone on. She didn't when she thought he'd turned to Milady in the series one finale. She understands that he's free while she's bound. I do think there'll be yet another huge crack in her heart though. He looks so frustrated and angry with her. In another image we have, he's actually turned away from her. I wonder if she's come to the Garrison to see if he's OK, after hearing if their mission. I suspect we could be dealing with a case of "You chose him, so why won't you leave me alone." If they part on bad terms, which I think they will at this point, it'll kill him and leave her ever more trapped and lonely. We'll have to wait for the pay off when they finally reunite and it'll be a case of "I love you, I miss you and I'm sorry."

    ReplyDelete
  56. It dies look odd and feels "wrong" somehow. I think that's testiment to how wonderful the chemistry is between Luca and Tamla and what a wonderful relationship they've created.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Ah, so it seems D'Artagnan is receiving a kiss from Lucie De Foix

    ReplyDelete
  58. Finally see them! You are right. It remains to be seen how involved they are, but I think it is safe to say she is kissing him. Lol. Constance definitely walks in on it. Well, she needed a push to leave her husband!

Love the pics of Louis looking at the baby! I also remain confused at to how rochefort enters the pic here. Looks a bit rumpled and careworn.

I see that fabric we all speculated about!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Just curious, is there a name / title for episode one yet? I am so happy to know BBC America will be airing it in January. Some of those pictures have me really curious!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I don't think the producers would have an important moment such as Constance choosing to leave her husband happen off-screen.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I also remember something that Sandi said in another thread, that if whether you are a Constagnan fan, an Aramis fan, Louis etc, there will be something, that when you see it happen in screen, will make you very happy. Given that the fairly tepid lip lock with Lucue De Foix is likely to make precisely zero Constagnan fans happy, I can only assume there will be another moment or two between our favourite couple, to treasure.😄

    ReplyDelete
  62. The Musketeers is 'pick of the day' in the Radio Times for 2nd January. :) Shame we can't read the words.
I hope the BBC start running trailers soon because they aired the first Poldark trailer a week ago..

    ReplyDelete
  63. If you've got an Ipad, you can read the words..

    ReplyDelete
  64. Well, the good news is Radio Times seem to be getting behind it this time, which is a vast improvement on some of the snidey nonsense they spouted during series one.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Certainly if this isn't their first kiss, Lucie needs to worry. He looks about as enthusiastic as a condemned man heading to the rope. No kitchen furniture at risk there.😉

    ReplyDelete
  66. It remains to be seen if they are really arguing, but she really doesn't have a right to question him since she pushed him away. He doesn't even know how she truly feels.

I like her outfit! And I have been highly critical of other pics of her too, so that's good for me. Ha.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I think that's right. Argument is probably the wrong word. It might be less an argument than a heated conversation. Certainly she looks much more sad than angry. I have a feeling he may be becoming deeply frustrated with her for exactly the reasons you mention. Unless she's been sent to the Garrison on the orders of the Queen to fetch Aramis for the birth of the Dauphin,😉 which seems very unlikely, or to retrieve Mme. De Fiox, she has no real reason to be there, except to see that he's ok after the mission. She may mean well and we know that she loves him dearly but he doesn't at this point. That's got to be emotionally confusing and upsetting for him. As you say, she essentially rejected him and still hasn't actually told him how she feels. At this point he may just want her to leave him the heck alone and stop driving the knife in by torturing him with the hope of something that he thinks can never be. It could end up being a "go away and leave me alone" moment.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I'm still wondering if D'artagnan's big grin at the tavern has anything to do with Constance, until someone - perhaps Rochefort - says a snide remark that wipes the smile off his face.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I think the soaking wet pic of Athos released earlier this year just go with the one of d'Artagnan behind the well.

    ReplyDelete
  70. You could definitely be on to something there. I definitely think the image, which appears to be from the same scene where he is looking intensely at someone or something from above, could be linked to Constance and the scenes we know take place between them at some sort of Inn. The sudden serious look on his face is a strange sort of combination between surprise, curiosity, sadness and maybe an element of longing.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I'm just really hoping, that as we're starting the series it seems, with some Constagnan angst (not surprising) we're not heading for an entire series of it. There needs to be some light as well as shade in this relationship. Otherwise, it's just one long depressing saga. For goodness sake, let us see them love each other for a bit. That's what makes the "obstacles" and "hiccups" worth enduring.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Cheers for the heads up, I picked my copy up this afternoon because of it :) Here's a photo I've taken of just the text which should be easy to read hopefully.

  73. I think everyone on Wednesday was impressed, there were many reactions from the audience to bits happening and a huge round of applause at the end. I'm glad that this is great write up from them too, it's a good sign hopefully. If people tune in to this first episode I think there's a good chance it will retain many of them. It's a real swashbuckler of an adventure :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. Total. Fangirl. Moment.... 2nd Jan can't get here fast enough. Forget Christmas and New Year lol. Bring on The Musketeers!! Squeeeee :D

    ReplyDelete
  75. Ha, I know what you mean, it does seem like the visuals have stepped up a notch this year. Some of the ladies dresses are stunning, and I think that maybe some of the filters used this year have changed slightly too. It seems more vibrant, and some of the shots are very cinematic too. I kind of want to watch them all on the big screen now after seeing the first episode that way, I've been spoilt, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  76. No name yet, they usually get revealed a bit closer to TX, as again they can be a bit spoilery at times - think Knight Takes Queen, lol. Hopefully we'll have one by Xmas though, fingers crossed!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Lol yes, Constance's dress, I recognised it straight away. That brought back a few memories of early on in the speculation thread XD I like the corset it is worn with, it's a lovely colour.

Louis grinning at his (not) son is adorable isn't it!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Exactly, I think we all realise that storylines will play out over the whole season rather than being resolved in the first episode, there would be no drama otherwise, lol. All the different types of fans are going to be frustrated at some points and find hope in others ;)

    ReplyDelete
  79. I love the way that is written, it really makes you wanna go and watch (of course I'm a little biased, but I hope a lot of not-yet-fans will feel the same). What I really don't like is the fact that they never call the baby by name. Which really doesn't bode well methinks....

    ReplyDelete
  80. That hook of hope, so to speak, is the key thing. I love a decent slice of angst but it needs to be tempered, otherwise it's a real turnoff. Relentless catastrophe and misery can become ridiculous and comical, rather than dramatic. I have faith that they'll deliver over time. For me it's seeing the guys again for the first time that will be a huge thrill and the sense that the adventure is beginning again. Also, that moment when D'Artagnan and Constance lay eyes on each other again will be electric (even if there's an unwanted spare part, with a dodgy bubble perm, in the background😉)

  81. I must admit, Christmas is a little less exciting this year, bring on The Musketeers... :)

    * going to watch and enjoy Doctor Who though *

    ReplyDelete
  82. I just hope D'Artagnan and Constance are together - as lovers - for longer than they were in S1, which was half an episode, otherwise there won't be time for them to enjoy being together.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Completely agree with this. They need to balance it out much better than they did in series one. If all we're facing is the prospect of two people giving each other longing looks and stumbling from one misunderstanding and roadblock, to another, it becomes impossible to invest in the relationship. Ironically, it also diminishes the impact of the really meaningful moments both happy and sad.

    ReplyDelete
  84. With regards to Constance and Anne in episodes 1 - 2, I hope they're not coming across as best buddies or anything like that yet because I think it would be unrealistic at this stage, especially as the audience won't have seen that come about. I actually hope there's a more formal acquaintance between the two of them to begin with - friendly but not too friendly - with Marguerite perhaps having a bigger role as Anne's friend and confidant. ( she does hold a higher position? ) Constance's growth as a character in her own right could involve her gradually gaining the Queen's trust, which would contrast nicely with the implication that D'Artagnan gets a little more acquainted with the King in the new series. ( of course, Musketeers and Kings can never be friends, although Louis does like Captain Trevile and has respect for him )

Jumping ahead briefly to episode 2, Ryan wasn't joking when he said that Louis has a tough ride in series 2, no longer just safely encased in his palace.

  85. Jessica has asked that anything related to the leaked photos please be deleted and not spread for now as copyright has been broken. Just a heads up hun :)

I'm looking forward to seeing Constance grow as as character and seeing her in different situations this year. Her relationship with Anne was an interesting one in the novels as she was probably the closest friend she had at court after the Cardinal banished/alienated all the Queen's other allies. With Rochefort's mysterious background character bio description in this case though, I'm not sure what will be going on! lol

    ReplyDelete
  86. I think if he does snap at her, he'll regret it instantly the moment she walks away. Although their parting at the end of series one was sad, it wasn't acrimonious. I think hurting her in any way will be acutely painful for D'Artagnan to the point of being unbearable. I imagine he'll want to make some kind of overture to her fairly quickly to indicate that he regrets his actions.

    ReplyDelete
  87. It's interesting to see Athos shaking Rochefort's hand. I wonder which of the Musketeers is suspicious of Rochefort first, or whether, because he's the Cardinal's man, there's an instant suspicion there? I think what will be interesting as the series progresses is the power struggle we'll see. With Rochefort ingratiating himself with the King and particularly with his old pal, the Queen, we could see real conflict and division between the Sovereign and his Consort. Particularly if Rochefort can play one off against each other. How will Treville fit into this changed world? Will the King still listen to his most loyal adviser? Who will the King and Queen choose to trust? I have a feeling they will be at the centre of the wheel this year, with the other characters revolving around them and interacting with them at different times, with everyone ultimately being drawn in, as the story builds to it's conclusion. Will good triumph over evil?

    ReplyDelete
  88. Yeah, it looks like the royal household and Rochefort will be at the centre of the series this year.. Whilst S1 had some great drama, I think the stakes will definitely be higher this time around.
It must be hard for Sandi to have to sit on what she knows about episode 1 for almost a month, it must be a relief that it won't be this way for the whole series.

    ReplyDelete
  89. It must be tough when you know what happens and see the rest of us, stumbling about in the dark and probably getting the wrong end of the stick! To be honest, much as I love a good teaser, I'm feeling more than a bit conflicted by what we've seen so far. It's a bit like eating a giant sticky toffee pudding all by yourself. You wanted it, devoured it but now you feel a bit sick. I can't help feeling that some of the images that have been released will have a totally different feel and sense when seen in context and there's a big part of me that wishes these images hadn't arrived so early and that I'd avoided temptation and had the opportunity, like Sandi, to simply enjoy the episode as it was intended to be seen. I've no doubt I'll find it impossible to resist temptation in future but it has made me reflect.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Whilst I don't want to jump too far ahead with spoilers - which is why I don't want to know anything about episode 3 onwards - I actually find that spoilers increase my excitement rather than diminish it..

The only exception is major spoilers, such as Bonacieux disscovering his wife's affair..

    ReplyDelete
  91. I've been thinking the same thing about the love thing. If it's done right, I think it can make for some really great storylines and will give the show another dimension next to the more action-driven scenes. I predict a lot of heartbreak this season, though. :(

    ReplyDelete
  92. Same here. I also have to be careful not to speculate TOO much, I don't wanna end up liking the plots we come up with better than what's gonna end up being in the show...lol

    ReplyDelete
  93. I totally agree. My only hope is that they don't overplay the heartbreak card. A little goes a long way. There needs to be some joy to offset the sorrow. Otherwise you start to lose the drama and create farce.

    ReplyDelete
  94. God yes, I'll be glad when it goes back to only a week. Not being able to join in too much with the speculation is hard! lol

    ReplyDelete
  95. Lol, not thought about that.. :)

    ReplyDelete
  96. Ah yes.😄 I remember our high hopes for the role of Constance's maid at the end of series one. In our version she would have single handedly reunited Constagnan by revealing Bonacieux's threat to Constance. The actress's agent would have loved us. Alas, she got one sentence and less than thirty seconds of screen time....I still say our version was better....😄

    ReplyDelete
  97. So long as it's not "Dogtanian is a bit of a Muskehound" I'll be happy.😜

    ReplyDelete
  98. LOL! And that's why we don't write the show. Love would always find a way. Which: yay, but it probably just wouldn't make for good drama...lol

    ReplyDelete
  99. Generally I would agree with you about spoilers but I suppose it's the long wait this time that's got me thinking about them. In all honesty, it probably won't prevent me from taking a look when it comes to future episodes but it might give me some pause. I suspect I'm also managing my own expectations. As kynikey says, there's a real danger that the reality won't live up to twelve months of hopes and expectations. In fairness, I think that's too much of a burden to place on any series. I want to go along for the ride and get the very best from it after all this time and maybe that does mean thinking about what I really want to know in advance and what I'd like to wait to see evolve.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I think whether or not D'Artagnan and Constance get together towards the start of the series and are given a proper exploration of what it means to be a married woman having an affair with a penniless Musketeer is something I wouldn't mind being spoiled about sooner rather than later, precisely to avoid any future dissapointment when it comes to expectations.

Other spoilers - such as Aramis and his son, Athos & Milady, exactly what Rochefort is getting up to and Portho's discover of his family - are ones I can wait to see as they unfold.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Hehe, now that I would be tempted by! :) In light of some of the images we've seen so far, I'm beginning to wonder what motivates Constance to want to leave her husband. Something much more positive than what we've seen so far, must happen, if her motivation is indeed, her love for D'Artagnan. Contemplating such a risky, life changing move, if she's not certain she still holds his commitment and affections, would be a really massive gamble for her. For this whole story to move forward, we need to see something in the first two or three episodes I would have thought. Certainly before the mid point of the series.

    ReplyDelete
  104. "Keep your friends close..." Parallels with series one, episode one, "Friends and Enemies" maybe. I wonder if we'll see any other scenes that remind us of how it all began?

    ReplyDelete
  105. I've said it on the preview thread and I'll say it again. BBC, we've got less than three weeks to go. Where's the trailer?!

    ReplyDelete
  106. I've been thinking the same thing but I believe 'Call the Midwife' only got its first trailer about two and a half weeks before it airs at Christmas, so there's still hope that The Musketeers 2 will get ITS first trailer within the same amount of time.
Certainly there HAS to be something by next weekend..

    ReplyDelete
  107. What concerns me is that "Call the Midwife" is a Christmas Special, rather than the new series. ITV have been plugging Broadchurch series two, for months. Last year the first teasers for The Musketeers started to air more than three weeks before the series began. This was an opportunity for the BBC to re-launch the series. To play on the new tone and even on the new night. Just to have the four guys appear on screen with the strap line/VO "The Boys are Back, Coming soon to BBC One", would have injected some energy. Despite appearing/getting lost in the Christmas Listings magazines, they didn't feature at all in the festive drama promos. This follows on from the failure to include one clip of The Musketeers in the Benedict Cumberbatch fronted BBC drama showcase promo, which aired recently. This feature clips of pretty much every major drama series to have aired on the BBC in the past two decades. Apathetic promotion in the UK in an already crowded market, coupled with a much more high risk scheduling choice...it's hard to paint all this in a positive light. Perhaps the only glimmer of hope is that they may air the trailer on Christmas Day, which should then reach a large audience. Frankly, if they fail to do that, they may as well give it up right now.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I've posted a link to a great article that provides some really interesting spoilers, over in the Season Two Preview and Teasers thread. Please be warned there are some very significant spoilers in the article. Please don't read if you're avoiding spoilers in general and/or info from later in the series.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I love the way the guys joke about together :) Rochefort does have a very snakelike costume, as you can see in the picture below, so I think it's quite a good description. They don't look very impressed when they first meet him do they XD Really looking forward to seeing Athos unravelling, Tom plays that side of him so well it's a joy to watch!

Louis meeting the Dauphin for the first time is adorable, I can see a lot of heartache happening there, surely it can't last?

  110. Ahhhhhh, have we really got to get through Xmas and New Year before seeing episode 1?

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  111. Well, I feel like we've seen half of episode 1 already with all these great videos coming out lately (...even though it's probably more like...2 minutes ;) ).

    ReplyDelete
  112. Yeah, it does feel like we've seen half of episode 1 already but I'd be lying if I said it's not making me that bit more excited for the series to actually start.

I might have to cover my eyes and ears in the run up to the series final though, I don't want spoiling that much..

    ReplyDelete
  113. It is! And I love the fact that I don't DISlike anything yet! :D

    ReplyDelete
  114. Yes, the scene with Louis was so nice but sad as we all know it's not really his son. I wonder if he ever discovers the truth. So looking forward to Gage.

Interesting way Bonacieux (finally a sighting!) spoke to Constance. Wonder if that is a sign of how things are between them.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Feels so strange to be so close!

    ReplyDelete
  116. There's a great vibe between the guys. I love Tom's dry sense of humour. Those stairs must be a pain.😄 I love the sound of Athos' story arch and I do hope that whatever journey into the darkness he takes this year, it gets him out on the other side, a stronger man able to move forward. The little Dauphin is just adorable. Then again, great genetics.😉 You can't help but feel for Louis as he says, "My son" and we know differently. In stark contrast you feel nothing but contempt for Bonacieux who appears to be treating Constance with a complete lack of respect. Picking at her clothes like she's some kin of adornment not a human being. She seems at this point like she's existing, not living. So it is Constance's dream. It seems to have been brought on by being surrounded by the billowing sheets. All that love and passion from such a gorgeous, exciting, loving man...then back to reality and being likened to a donkey. Oh Constance. Get out girl!

    ReplyDelete
  117. I'm glad there's been a sighting of Bonacieux at last so I can talk about him, I do so love to hate Poraj, he plays him so well! hehe

    ReplyDelete
  118. Poor Louis, your heart does go out to him when he says that with the stupid adorkably proud grin on his face - then hard cut to the real father looking all smoking hawt ;) lol.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Bo really deserved more screen time last year. He's glorious as Bonacieux. He completely embodies this vain, preening, excuse of a man. You really understand what a nightmare Constance finds herself in that moment. Remembering a man who showered her with love and affection who desired her and whom she desired in return and then being shot back into the reality of addressed as "woman" by a man who only needs her only to flatter his ego. This is an intolerable life for her. What would be really brave would be if she decided, I don't love Bonacieux, D'Artagnan hates me now (wrong assumption of course) but I can't stay in this situation and I've got to find a way to make a life for myself. That would really take some guts.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I really am hoping that we do see more of him this year, I would love to see his character fleshed out more, and certainly his slide into villainy. Without that I don't think most viewers will find enough sympathy for Constance to commit adultery. The bad guys having affairs I can handle, they are supposed to have loose morals, but I would prefer the good guys to perhaps display a bit more honour than some of them did in S2...I'm looking at you in particular Aramis, lol

    ReplyDelete
  121. Judging from this brief clip, we're already seeing the stark contrast between the two men and the sheer misery of her life with him. I completely agree that we need to see more of the villainous side to Bonacieux and I have a feeling we will. In the novel he betrays Constance and I suspect that once it becomes clear to him (perhaps via Rochefort) that she has returned to her lover, he'll be easy pickings for anyone who might want to use him as a means of destroying both Constance and D'Artagnan.

    ReplyDelete
  122. I have to admit that would still prefer Constance to leave her husband before any affair started with d'Artagnan. With her at court it could be that Bonacieux imagines that they are at it behind his back, perhaps with Rochefort even egging his suspicions on maybe. That would work well for me I think, as it wouldn't taint the 'good guys' honour and could lead to her husband making some very bad decisions that could cause his downfall.

    ReplyDelete
  123. I was surprised to see that Bonacueux's worry over Constance leaving him at the end of S1 hasn't caused him to treat her with more respect. You'd think he'd be doing everything possible to not tempt Constance back into D'Artagnan's arms - unless he knows he has complete control over her now..

    ReplyDelete
  124. I think Bonacieux is a lot more typical of men at that time than the Musketeers. Unfortunately women didn't have a lot of options when they became wives and had to put up with becoming almost property to men like him :( I think that Adrian saying that this side of things being explored in S2 will be an interesting side to see. We saw glimpses of it last year, especially in Rebellious Woman, but with the Musketeers being a lot more forward thinking much of the time it does get a little lost how bad it was I think.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I can understand that some people are uncomfortable with the adultery and I completely respect that. I must say, it doesn't really trouble me in the context if the story. I don't think either of them entered this lightly and they're Certainly paying for their desires. It also makes our heroes human and therefore flawed which I appreciate. I suspect they will be at it behind his back once again, before long. I think this thing is pretty unstoppable.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I think ths is right. He knows she has few options, or rather he thinks she has. I have a feeling he's grossly underestimating his young wife.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I'm pretty much 100% certain now that they're going to kill the poor baby off one way or the other. If that happens I think we're going to see both Aramis and Louis going off the rails completely...

    ReplyDelete
  128. I have this theory/hope that Anne and Aramis are going to fake the babies death themselves as a way to outsmart Rochefort. That would be heartbreaking for Louis of course, but would be a way of righting the course of history as there was no child born in 1631 who went on to take the throne. It's a theory that's mainly based around this photo, as it looks like there's a cot in it and the wall doesn't look like they are in the palace. So not a very reliable theory I must admit XD

    http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4VUQfvczWzY/VChE4oEfXsI/AAAAAAAADA8/F3zoz0WVE6M/s320/Bx6gji0IQAEi3oc.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  129. This could also work historically as the real Queen Anne did have a pregnancy, the outcome of which is unknown.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Indeed. The child is recorded as stillborn historically, but with the war on Spain on the horizon and if the child did 'die' young then it would have been easy to record it as such in order to blame Anne in some way. A previous pregnancy which resulted in a stillbirth, or death not long after birth anyway, was definitely blamed on her actions by Richelieu after all.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Interesting! Better than killing the poor thing off in any case. And it would make for a much more interesting plot and a pretty good resolution for the storyline (which I'm certain they will revolve this season, I can't imagine them carrying it through to a third season). And considering the producers are well aware how they're bending history, it really would make sense for them to resolve it in a way that COULD be historically possible.

This whole baby plot just has the potential for so much angst and heartbreak - I love it and feel sorry for all involved at the same time...lol I really don't get why so many people hate it already even though they haven't seen any of it yet. :(

    ReplyDelete
  132. I've noticed a number of Aramis fans who actively dislike the Aramis/Anne ship, either because their relationship can never be or because it goes against the character of "book Aramis" as they put it and of course the arrival of a baby only makes that ship even more complicated. Others fear that Aramis will turn out to be the father of the next King of France - the Sun King - and find the whole idea a bit OTT and to an extent I agree with them, even if it would be a nice idea to have d'Artagnan as 'Captain of the Musketeers' by the time the Sun King was an adult.
Adrian has said that he wants to tie up one or two storylines that were started in S1, in order to go in 'new directions' for S3..

    ReplyDelete
  133. Well this season is meant to be more Porthos and Aramis led, which leads me to believe that Porthos' father and Aramis being a father will be the main mirrored arc's that run through it and be tied up by the end. Then next season is due to be more d'Artagnan led, from an interview that Adrian gave earlier this year.

I can completely understand why some don't like the idea of the storyline, the one night stand was a completely unhonourable thing for one of the heroes of the story to do. Especially when they all boasted of having kept their honour when in the closing moments of the first series. It wasn't a popular storyline on here at the time I seem to remember either at the time, and I think many are thinking that the ship will continue and don't want to see that happening.

    ReplyDelete
  134. While I get that on some level, I think people need to let go of this notion that the series is anything like the book. I mean, the producers have said repeatedly that it isn't and they don't want it to be, so constantly comparing it to the book and pointing out the differences is a bit of an exercise in futility, because it's never going to be like the book and it's never going to be completely historically accurate.

And what I've realized for myself lately is the more I start thinking about and dissecting a show, the less fun I have with it and it's ruined some perfectly good shows for me. So I refuse to go think too much about everything the characters do...lol :D So yes, what Aramis did probably wasn't honorable, but to me (not thinking about it too much ;)) it wasn't too OOC. It was a moment of weakness. It is a LIKELY ship? Heck no, but I still love that they're continuing it at least for another season (that first moment between the two in ep two was what got me into really watching the show - just that promise of what COULD happen, so I'm gonna be with them until the day that ship sinks officially ;)). And I have faith that the producers will find a way to end it in a satisfying manner. So I'm probably totally biased because I'm one of what feels like 10 Annamis-shippers out there, but I'm giving the crew the benefit of the doubt for the moment and I don't care how historically accurate it all is...lol :D

    ReplyDelete
  135. I'm very much looking forward to everything that's going to happen in S2, including the complicated situation between Aramis and Anne and how the producers are going to conclude that storyline, if at all..

Adrian has suggested that a second storyline will be concluded in S2 as well and contenders include Athos and Milady - perhaps Milady will get redemption but not before she has to bow out of the series in one way or another because a 'good guy Milady' wouldn't really work - and of course Constance's marriage to Bonacieux.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I think Constance and Bonacieux are probably the stronger contenders there, I don't think they're going to get rid of Milady anytime soon and even if Constance finally manages to get out of her marriage, I'm sure they can still think of something to make her and d'Artagnan's life together miserable.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Cracking recap, that's got me excited for next week!

    ReplyDelete
  138. Fabulous! The expression on D'Artagnan's face as he walks away from Constance, still kills me.😢 He just looks so completely devasted and lost.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Yeah, young Luca was at his best as d'Artagnan in that finale episode and The Challenge for me. Seeing Adele again got me, so heartbreaking :( I'm glad that her death is touched upon in episode one, I almost pumped the air in delight in the screening room when it happened! XD

    ReplyDelete
  140. It makes you realise when you see that clip again, what a long and painful road back Cibstance and D'Artagnan face. It really isn't something that you can just bounce back from without any trauma. I'm really delighted that they're addressing Adele. Her death was so brutal and lonely and there was a real sadness that was never mourned because Aramis simpky thought she'd choosen the Cardinal over him. I think I would have embarrassed myself with the fist pumping Sandi and I might gave protested rather loudly when I discovered a certain scene was merely a dream.😫☺️

    ReplyDelete
  141. Luke did that scene so well, he really has such expressive eyes, something that was noted by several film critics during his supporting role in Snowpiercer.

    ReplyDelete
  142. He really does have incredible eyes. You just know, all the longing looks we'll undoubtedly see in this new series, are going to be just amazing.😍

    ReplyDelete
  143. Hey Sandi, not that I'm being pushy or anything lol, but can we expect your in-depth preview soon? Can't wait to read.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Hopefully tonight, if all goes well :)

    ReplyDelete
  145. To be honest, there isn't much to say, so much has already come out, lol

    ReplyDelete
  146. Ah but context is everything and so far we've had a bunch of random images, some video carefully edited to provoke excitement/debate in equal measure and some logical guess work based on the snippets that have emerged. A bit of calm, considered and more importantly, informed analysis, will be very gratefully received.😄

    ReplyDelete
  147. I bet Sandi's very pleased that her month's silence is coming to an end and can finally discuss things with everyone else, including genuinely speculate about later episodes..

    ReplyDelete
  148. I'm certainly keeping away from TV magazine reviews over the next 10 weeks because some of them have been very blatant about spoilers for episode 1, with the exception of Radio Times because that's the magazine we have at home.

    ReplyDelete
  149. I'm so looking forward to Friday's episode, especially with the positive reviews from Sandi and others. It will be good to have her on board again to speculate about future episodes! :) I am really excited about seeing the new characters and what they add to the show - I've heard so many good things about Marc Warren, so I am desperate to see him in action.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Totally agree Tigercheetah! I don't want to be fully spoiled about the episodes, as I want to be able to enjoy the show as it is supposed to be viewed.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Just in case anyone was left in any doubts to whether Rochefort has any redeeming qualities, he couldn't even keep out of trouble at the inn he was supposed to be meeting the Musketeers at until they got there at noon XD

    ReplyDelete
  152. So glad to see our boys again! This clip has done much to help with the anticipation. Athos still makes quite the leader. Also, the capes are darker! Are the lighter capes gone for good, Sandi? Not a big thing, but I did like them. Or is that too spoilery to share? :)

    ReplyDelete
  153. These Inns seem like lethal places. Does anyone ever get out of them alive, uninjured or via the front door?😄

    ReplyDelete
  154. Yes, I think they do still wear them too at court. I do like the darker ones, they look lighter to work with so that could be the reason they have them when out on horseback perhaps. I imagine that they are less water proof though, lol.

Athos is a great leader of the team, they all naturally look to him and take his lead a few times in the episode. He's also the one who stands by one of the others when something a bit baffling happens to them towards the end of the episode, it just comes naturally to him to take care of them all I think.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Haha, they do see to find many excuses to escape via a window in the past haven't they. I watched Commodities again the other night, that Bonnaire fake sex scene with his wife in the inn always cracks me up XD

Part of me wonders if the season will end with Rochefort being lynched, to make up for this safe at the start. It would be a fitting end for his character I feel.

    ReplyDelete
  156. I really like the parallel between Porthos' and his relationship, or lack of it, with his father and Aramis' desire to play some sort of role in his son's life and I could definitely see these two arcs reaching some sort of resolution/conclusion at the end of the series. Particularly as I can't see them wanting to go back to the well with yet another Constance in jeopardy focused finale. I must admit, I'd like to see the Athos/Milady saga significantly progressed or resolved this year. If as seems likely, the finale involves Rochefort's destructive quest for power and sexual obsession with the Queen, we could see Milady finally discovering her limits in terms of what she's prepared to do and what she's prepared to assist in being done. Milady has herself experienced sexual violence in her past and I can't see her being willing to suborn it, if she discovers Rochefort's true intent. This could lead to an element of redemption for her character. There appears to be a suggestion that series three may focus on war with Spain, which would provide ample opportunity for D'Artagnan to really begin his path towards his status as a legendary warrior. To sell this well to the audience and to ensure that the action is tempered with the human/emotional element, it would be interesting to see both the battlefield and the parallel life of those left behind. If we keep Constance (which I sincerely hope we do) it would be very powerful to explore what her life would become, having possibly chosen to forge a life with her Musketeer, only to face an uncertain future and the prospect that he might never return to her.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Agree completely with this. I really like the mirroring aspect of the Aramis and Porthos journey that we have ahead of us this year. It's quite a clever idea, and feels like a natural progression from S1 for them both without forcing anything new into their lives unnecessarily.

I'm thinking that d'Artagnan and Athos may have a similar shared experience/plotline too perhaps? d'Artagnan/Constance and Athos/Milady working out where their hearts lie and coming to some sort of understanding with each other.

  158. Just seen this on twitter from Slouching TV -

"Having just watched the first 3 eps of season 2, whisper it quietly but The Musketeers might just be better off without Peter Capaldi"
Lol and to think many people thought Peter was holding the show together in S1, which he wasn't really because the four lads and Ryan were more than capable of holding the show together, they just needed a proper villain so that - in the words of Howard Charles - the Musketeers could be more heroic..

  159. Thanks Tigercheetah - that is definitely good to hear. There are so many positive things being said about the new season and Marc as the villain. I'm just hoping that more people will tune in this time around. I really can't wait for this season to begin!

  160. I have to agree, I wouldn't whisper it either, lol. I do love Capaldi, but think he would have grown into a bigger villain over time on the show and didn't have a chance to get to that point. S1 was about introducing the characters, letting the Musketeers grow into a team and showing how court was under the Cardinal's thumb. S2 is where we go now all that is in place I feel.

  161. Much though I love Peter Capaldi and have really enjoyed his work over the years, I was never particularly convinced by his portrayal of the Cardinal. Thus I've always felt that it was a win/win both for the Tardis and for the Garrison :). I've been enthusiastic about the prospect of Marc Warren from the moment he was announced. He does a brilliant turn as a menacing, unsettling presence and he has a sexy vibe that I knew would play well against characters like Milady and as a viable opponent for the boys. As you say Sandi, perhaps with a 9pm disposition and time to grow, Capaldi's version of the Cardinal would have evolved into something believable, but for me, it was at times, pure panto and tended to evoke images of the Hooded Claw. Warren's Rochefort is going to be an explosive presence and really could help to take this show to a whole new level. It could very well be the shot of adrenalin it needs.

  162. I can't really argue with that. I much prefer him as a baddie in other things, his role in Torchwood's Children of Earth for example is amazing. He's only ever doing what is best for the country in that too, but it's much more nuanced, probably helped by being a post-watershed show.

  163. I'll never forget Peter's last scene in Children in Earth or a certain other scene either, that was certainly a brave drama.

  164. It was brilliant, one of my favourite dramas ever!

  165. Today's the day. :)
Unexpectedly last night - probably because she was bored with normal tv - mum decided to watch my S1 DVD and she liked it enough to watch four episodes straight. :) She now has S2 on series-record and will try and catch up with S1 today. Dad probably won't watch it, thinks it will be too romantic for him - he's one of those blokes who likes a lot of explosions in his films.

  166. That's good news Tigercheetah. I've been trying to persuade my parents to watch it, as I know they will enjoy it but may need a bit more persuasion. The hubby will be watching although!!!!!! Let's hope lots more people tune in this time around. Not long to go!!!!!!! :)

  167. We're a Musketeer family! Other half, parents, even best friends are all tuning in tonight. Just has my first excited conversation about it with a friend over lunch.

  168. There has been some real dross on TV this year hasn't there! I'm kinda glad that The Musketeers didn't end up going out in amongst it all now as it stood no chance, I'm just hoping that tonight is far enough out the other side of it to get a decent over night figure...though I doubt it could be worse than Mapp and Lucia which ended on 2.2 million in the 9pm slot. It only managed 3.8 million on Sunday I believe, which is the day we were originally disappointed The Musketeers got bumped for, eek!!

  169. She's watched the other 6 since last night :) Her favourite Musketeer is Athos but she thinks D'Artagnan and Aramis are "bl**** handsome"

Back on topic, I'm almost as nervous as I am excited about tonight, I hope the first episode is well received and does well with timeshift..

  170. Nice to see that we'll be getting a BTS episode weekly by the looks of it. I enjoyed that, it's something Doctor Who does which is fairly successful too. I like seeing how things are done on the set :)

  171. Awesome bts feature of that stunt! The entire sequence was so cool. Probably my favourite action scene on the show so far!
