  1. Quick question
Anyone letdown by Berlin being thr big bad?

    ReplyDelete
  2. NBC aired a promo during The Voice and... there's a scene between Tom and Red. Good God, this is heating up.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Berlin? I thought Alan Fitch was the big big big bad. Apparently he's the one who told Berlin what Raymond -allegedly- did, and now that they both know, we're supposed to see how they handle it tonight.

PS- During The Voice they aired a-nother- promo, Alan Fitch is inside a box (like the one on Anslo Garrick) with a bomb around his neck.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I've been saying he's probably not the big bad since last year I guess, so no.
Although I will admit I am a little let down by the character after all the build up.....

    ReplyDelete
  5. I agree with that. After all the build-up, you'd think Berlin is a mastermind even worse than Red, but all we've seen is an old man with a weirdly pronounced accent and the lack of one hand.

    ReplyDelete
  6. SO excited for tonight's midseason finale! Bring it on!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Well, at least we now know HOW she has him...

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hello Everyone! Welcome to The Blacklist Live Discussion!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I think part of that is the issue with bait and switch and misdirection!
Sometimes the bait seems more dangerous or brilliant than whatever they switch too. In this case they built up Red's opponent (his true adversary) and Berlin automatically took on that characterization... Then the character did not live up to it.

It does feel like it fits a little better if you still think of that build up all for someone else (Red's yet to be revealed true adversary) and only look at Berlin as the man who escaped from prison on a mission.

    ReplyDelete
  10. He's escaping. Don't know how, but he will be out.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Alan Dala as a guest star...

    ReplyDelete
  12. I don't watch promos, but I think you're right...he'll escape..

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ohhh Alon Aboutboul is guest starring as well.. He would make a great new big bad!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Lol, I love that character that works for Red...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hahaha, love the old man.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm only let down by the fact that he is soooo old....where are all the cute super villains!

    ReplyDelete
  17. His interrogator/ truth finder?
He is awesome and so against type!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yeah that old man is hilarious, Lol

    ReplyDelete
  19. Well, you still got Tom... for now.

    ReplyDelete
  20. It kinda stinks this is the last Blacklist until February.. :/

    ReplyDelete
  21. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!

    This is horrible!

    NBC should be shot!

    ReplyDelete
  22. So over the Tom storyline they just need to kill him & be done with it but i fear there gonna drag it on and on

    ReplyDelete
  23. Good start but not caring fort the fact that this was so much set up for Berlin and now its like all is forgiven

    ReplyDelete
  24. I know but I watch abc live so now TBL goes to Friday

    ReplyDelete
  25. I kinda like him, it would be interesting to see what they do to him. There's still a whole lot we don't know about him.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't know, there's a lot about him that we don't know yet.

    ReplyDelete
  27. hopefully not, and it's just a temporary truce.

    ReplyDelete
  28. we know Berlin was behind sending him into Liz's live what else is there really left to explore with him ??

    ReplyDelete
  29. Like what in terms of whats important to the show ??

    ReplyDelete
  30. I agree I was preparing for a war...

    ReplyDelete
  31. So... the owner of the boat is the one who releases Tom... underwhelming, to be quite honest.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Seems like a prudent move by Red to not kil Berlin.
Keeping him alive to use later seems like a better choice to me. Afterall Berlin wants to kill this Decemberist as much or more than Red.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Well, The Blacklist likes to tease us...A LOT :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. I was expecting them to team up and go against the man who told Berlin Red killed his daughter.
    *Shrug*

Soon as Jennifer/ Zoe was named and I assumed she was Berlin's it jsut made sense to me.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Whoa...did not see that coming...

    ReplyDelete
  36. Now that is the Tom I missed from last year!
Eve nin dire circumstances he found a way out!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Lol, that's an understatement...

    ReplyDelete
  38. That's what they're going to do...

    ReplyDelete
  39. Call Mr Kaplan...good one Tom

    ReplyDelete
  40. Those one-liners are gold.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Did everyone see that commercial for the Prius? Or just me?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Can we please go back to calling him Berlin?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ack!
The old guy's name is Mr. Brimley!
I had to look it up in the Cyprus Agency IMDB page.

    ReplyDelete
  44. And ready they were!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Alan Fitch.

    Told y'all.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I mean Red's interrogator...

    ReplyDelete
  47. that comment wasnt meant to respond to you, lol, sorry... I meant that old guy in the elevator looks familiar

    ReplyDelete
  48. Saw the promo photos with Finch so I expected to get blamed somehow! XD

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think Red has more allies than Fitch thinks he does? What do you all think?...

    ReplyDelete
  50. Is it me or does this episode have the qualities of a movie? It looks very well put together and well written

    ReplyDelete
  51. Fitch does not know Berlin is playing on Red's side.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I love Stephen Colbert but do Pistachios really need that kind of air time?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Alon Aboutboul.. Homeland, Low Witner Sun, Legends etc..

    ReplyDelete
  54. true...Also I think some of Fitch's 'people' would side with Red

    ReplyDelete
  55. Is he though?
When it comes to revenge I think Berlin is on only his own side!
His working with Red only goes so far I think.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Laughing really loud right now :D

    ReplyDelete
  57. That would be interesting, but from what we saw last year most of the Alliance wants to kill Red and risk whatever Red has on them coming into public light...

    ReplyDelete
  58. How much does he know about Red. Why did he tell Liz her father was alive. What did he do with Gina Zanetakos. What intel does he have on Berlin.

Besides, he could be way more than we think he is.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Looks very good. AND we are getting tons of answers! Finally!

    ReplyDelete
  60. You're right, but I always though they show support to Fitch just because he was in the room. I'll bet a lot of them would jump ship to Red given the opportunity

    ReplyDelete
  61. With Fitch down, will they?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Ahh, true...
Plus alliances change as the wind blows...

    What's the expression...
Where you stand on an issue depends on where you sit?

    ReplyDelete
  63. It sounds like he is scolding a daughter...and she sounds like she is being scolded by her father......just sayin....

    ReplyDelete
  64. There we go Red pretty much confirmed he has known from the beginning

    ReplyDelete
  65. He's schooling her. Hard.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Oh they always play up that dynamic!
Part of why I think they are not blood related and the show is using more misdirection! XD

I keep going back to them being father and daughter,but...
    But...

    ReplyDelete
  67. Lol...she could have said that out loud and it would have been perfect

    ReplyDelete
  68. Her face sort of said it ;)

    ReplyDelete
  69. so its ok for Red to keep information from red but its not ok for liz ?? wish Liz would stand up to him more

    ReplyDelete
  70. Ressler could take Tom...especially now that Tom has been chained up for four months...COLD because Liz didn't bring him enough blankets

    ReplyDelete
  71. is it just me or has it been an underwhelming episode so far considering its going on a break for like 3 months or so

    ReplyDelete
  72. I know, after hiding him for months, she just lets him go? WTH!

    ReplyDelete
  73. GMTA.. see above. XD

    ReplyDelete
  74. Ressler did act a little bit boyfriend-ly there...

    ReplyDelete
  75. Tom is malnourished...definitely has Vitamin D deficiency...He goes down before Ressler even touches him...

    ReplyDelete
  76. Very it like same old stuff recycle

    ReplyDelete
  77. IT is only half over, but so far yes.
All the answers given are things that I have been expecting for along while.
The Fitch being behind Berlin only since the promo photos came out a week or two ago though...

I need something new and surprising for it to make go "Wow!"

    ReplyDelete
  78. Same hopefully the cliffhanger can deliver

    ReplyDelete
  79. What's in the box? Just Fitch with a bomb, no worries.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Do I sound like I'm kidding?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Where's REd's Ukranian friend from the pilot?
He can defuse a random bomb within 13 seconds after a cursory glance!! XD

    ReplyDelete
  82. Ha! I was thinking the same thing!

    ReplyDelete
  83. He is showing he is human nd truly cares...
Therefore I bet he is not long for this mortal coil! XD

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'm sorry I'm only number 8 on the blacklist honey...I can do better I promise...

    ReplyDelete
  85. Red is so charming <3

    ReplyDelete
  86. Ha! XD

I've often wondered... does the task force know what number the Blacklisters are?

    ReplyDelete
  87. That is an awesome question! If they knew they might just say give us 1 to 9 now...So I'm gonna guess they don't. It's probably for Red's eyes only...

    ReplyDelete
  88. Lol ive oftened wonder how many people are on the blacklist

    ReplyDelete
  89. Yeah..
i don't recall Red ever mentioning any numbers. He has said some are more dangerous than others, but is level of danger even how he rates them? XD

    ReplyDelete
  90. I would guess it's organic...villains taken off and added all the time so there is no definitive number...

    ReplyDelete
  91. It hurts me to see Erin being shot. Poor thing.

    ReplyDelete
  92. At least 161 since that is the highest number we have seen.
    That was The Stewmaker.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I like the finale it's good, not great though

    ReplyDelete
  94. 161? I thought he was higher on the list.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Does anyone else think if Fitch just turned his head a little to the left that thing would come off?

    ReplyDelete
  96. Hmmmm The Fulcrum....

    ReplyDelete
  97. Fulcrum? What is this...Chuck??

    ReplyDelete
  98. Ha! XD
    I forgot about that!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Hawkeye jam.... ewwww!

    ReplyDelete
  100. IS this the last we see of Berlin as well?

    ReplyDelete
  101. I thought it was poison for a second...

    ReplyDelete
  102. Drunk Red? Shut up and take my money.

    ReplyDelete
  103. If this is IT; then it was terrible, all the hype....wasted.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Yeah me too....
Although Berlin's shot glass could be poisoned...

Unless Red has spent the last years building up an immunity to Iocane powder! XD

    ReplyDelete
  105. yeah, that's it??!!!

    ReplyDelete
  106. Wow that a waste of a arc

    ReplyDelete
  107. so they build and build up Berlin & thats how they bring it to an end ??

    ReplyDelete
  108. Can we go back to the old Liz and Red now? I liked pre-Berlin LIzred...Redlliz...Lizzington

    ReplyDelete
  109. I'm more upset about Fitch honestly!
Berlin seemed like a hired stooge to me so I never expected huge things. I thought there had to be a man above him... or two or three etc.

Although I think this was rather lackluster for a Fall finale....
Unless Tom reveals something right now

    ReplyDelete
  110. So Tom is out there...again...even money him an dLiz get back together again...

    ReplyDelete
  111. mmmm....it looks to me like Liz is just acting with Red.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Did Red hire Tom?
    Hmmm....

    ReplyDelete
  113. so is red behind tom ?

    ReplyDelete
  114. That was kinda disappointing

    ReplyDelete
  115. I am a little disappointed, but good episode and ok arc to start season two...

    ReplyDelete
  116. I wondered as soon as I saw Tom walk in to meet Red, but I never expected before honestly!

I know some people wondered if Tom worked for Red early in Season 1, but I never did.

    ReplyDelete
  117. If so they could of made it clearer as im confused more than going WOW

    ReplyDelete
  118. Number 7 on the blacklist...Ebola

    ReplyDelete
  119. I just assumed Red KNEW about Tom , but I never expected he had Tom on the Payroll

    ReplyDelete
  120. Pfft.
I have a larger chance of winning the lotery - TWICE BACK-to-BACK - than I do of getting Ebola! XD

    ReplyDelete
  121. I never did either....but it does makes some sense now. Is this why Tom kept warning Liz about Red, that he's using her? Does Tom really care about Liz?

    ReplyDelete
  122. I know...its just nits how nuts everyone is getting over it...

    ReplyDelete
  123. I think deep down Tom does, yes...but I don;t think Liz cares about Tom anymore

    ReplyDelete
  124. could it of been what was in finches safe he handed him

    ReplyDelete
  125. I think he did grow to love Liz yes...

I did assume Tom worked for someone before Berlin and was triple agent... Just not Red! XD

    ReplyDelete
  126. They'll be back together again anytime soon. It's like the cycle of life.

    ReplyDelete
  127. You are right about Fitch, he was also introduced as a big bad...AND? That's it? Really? What a waste.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I think it was payment for a job completed.
Maybe not money though.... Something they agreed to before the show started.

    Maybe it was the key!

    ReplyDelete
  129. you think Tom worked for Red BEFORE Berlin? I just thought he worked for Red after Liz put him in the room...interesting

    ReplyDelete
  130. I agree...Season 4 or something like that...they will hook up...

    ReplyDelete
  131. Well, it's hard to say, they do have a lot of history, even if in her eyes it was all a lie.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I like that...maybe it was the key!...Wait a minute...they haven't mentioned that key...did they?

    ReplyDelete
  133. WEll I thought that Tom worked for the person behind Berlin honestly... That proved to be Fitch. So I was wrong.

That said, if Red and Tom had some agreement of payment it needed to be made long ago I would think...

    ReplyDelete
  134. I have not heard or seen it since he got it from the hippie terrorist. XD

    ReplyDelete
  135. True...but she got hit hard with all that truth coming out...and when he made that comment last season about when he knew "he had her"...ouch

    ReplyDelete
  136. Actually, I did think that he was working for Red the entire time. And that Red made him work with Berlin.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Really? Maybe I need to watch that episode again...I just thought it was for the last 4 months...Red shot him a couple times in the gut...

    ReplyDelete
  138. Yes, that had got to hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Thank you all for participating in the Live Discussion! Please vote up above! I will see you all next episode in February! Have a great night everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  140. So, they did press the reset button for the Superbowl...

Red does not have a clear nemesis, only the blacklisters.
    Liz is mentally broken.
Tom is free and apparently gone.
The Task Force is back to S1 formula.
We don't have an arc yet, besides whatever it is Red gave Tom at the end, and obviously the shocker secret he's been working for him all along.

I must admit, it is tricky how Tom has been working for Reddington and Berlin, how Lizzie really is clueless and how Red is a mastermind. Kind of underwhelmed for all the wasted hype, but it's nice we got some answers and a whole new start on February.

    ReplyDelete
  141. It makes sense on many levels, but Red always professed he had no idea who Berlin was.

Maybe Red had history with Tom and set him up to be used by his nemesis? A good free lance contractor will be picked up and used by a criminal organization... Tom could pick and choose what jobs he did until he got in with the right one who was hunting for Red...

    ReplyDelete
  142. I don't know really, it's my first impression. And just because Red hired him, doesn't mean he couldn't shoot him, especially if he thought Tom was becoming a problem for him.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Red could still have a nemesis other than Fitch (and Berlin). If Fitch stopped going after Red at some point then a new person could have started going after Red.

I think it's still possibly to have another adversary, but a reset would certainly work now!

    ReplyDelete
  144. mmm...nice theory. You're right, Red always said he didn't know Berlin, now I'm more confused.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Yeah thats a good point, but I just can;t see Red hiring Tom a long time ago to make Tom do all that stuff - work with Berlin, do all that to Liz - then come into Liz's life and tell her not to trust Tom and on top of all that not know who Berlin was....I'm not saying you are wrong ( I would never do that) but I need to watch that episode again to pay more attention...

    ReplyDelete
  146. OR it was all staged and part of his plan. Clever, to be quite honest.

    ReplyDelete
  147. I kinda feel they needed to go big & leave people wanting more considering there going on like a 3 month break & cliffhanger which seemed to indicate tom's been working for red all along meh over it

    ReplyDelete
  148. Well, I'm looking forward to reading YOUR review now, it should be interesting :D

    ReplyDelete
  149. Well, Red could have set Tom up to be a mole and not known what he would end up doing for his new boss.So Red put it all in motion, but did not orchestrate everything.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Or he did it all so Liz could fall in his arms easily as he's the one who helped her from the beginning (about Tom), if they're somewhat related.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Thank you! It should be super difficult after that episode, Lol, jk

    ReplyDelete
  152. yes, that is true also...I can see that

    ReplyDelete
  153. Well, now we have almost 3 months to wonder when Tom started working for Red and all the implications. Thanks, NBC. Hate that the innocent dockworker was collateral damage.

    ReplyDelete
  154. A lot of options right now.

If Fitch was the adversary Red was worried about, then the rest button has been hit!

If not we got a lot of confirmation tonight. Theories were ruled out, some were ruled in, and now we have new questions!

    Welcome to the Blacklsit! XD

    ReplyDelete
  155. Let the crazy, twisted theories begin!
