You know something is really wrong with Finn, when Murphy becomes the voice of reason....
Funny thing is, Peacemaker Finn kinda annoyed me last season, I was waiting for him to listen to Clarke/Bellamy and realize that words do not always work ... And now here we are, and this time it is Murderous Finn who is annoying me. :p Worst part is, you can't even blame Finn for reacting this way. With the information he has, of course he'd look for Clarke among the Grounders....
I really don't get this complete 180 of Finn. It's only been a few days and he goes from pacifist to hunter with no remorse. If he and Clarke had some kind of epic love story, I would say it's love but something else is pushing him over the edge. Either way, he's not a favorite character of mine so whatever drives the story, I'm ok with.
Cannot wait, but all we see is Finn and Murphy laying in wait... I wonder if this are the same grounders who took Kane? Then this rescue mission might not be totally senseless.... I like Murphy and Finn together and hope Murphy gets a real redemption arc, because I like him on the show. Bellamy's story was told on season 1, so I hope this season Finn gets his storyline to shine. For the haters he never can do anything right, but I like his character, and I don't care if he is killing grounders, because he wants to rescue Clarke and the others. It is TV after all.
Finn is not a warrior that's a fact, yeah boy go in there with your friend and your 2 weapons against dozens of people, that's a win for you. The point is that I love Finn and I understand perfectly why he's desperate and all, but I just can't understand their plan, I mean, Bellamy is supposedly the soldier who knows attack strategies and all and let these 2 go alone to the battle??, really??, good thing is that now the adults have a couple of hostages so now they could negotiate Finn and Murphy's release.
I don't care either. it's not like the grounders are above senseless murder of children I hope Fin's story has a point and he wont just end up another Wells/Anya
OK this is too much!!, Finn is who screw up things??, did you see season 1 Michael??, HE was who tried to negotiate with the grounders in the first place and Clarke and Bellamy didn't trust him, and THEY screw it up specially Bellamy who took Jasper and open fire against the grounders in the middle of their negotiation, so if things are difficult now is not because of Finn, he's never been a dumb, in fact is the other way around.
I hated Murphy...but I'm actually really liking his character development this season. I love to hate him...those characters are always the best because you never know what to expect. As for Finn...I never liked him as a peacemaker...and I definitely don't like him as a revengeful killer. I never understood why Clarke and Raven liked him so much.
Killing Finn would be too predictable and I don't see the bigger purpose it that, like killing Anya. Anya was killed to make the peace between the grounders and the 100 more difficult or to postpone it. What would Finn's death accomplish? Nothing - at least I cannot see it.
Further - I think the show cannot afford too lose anymore members of the main cast at this point with the ratings not good. As a new viewer it is hart to get into the show without watching Season 1, and I wouldn't even want to get into it and binge watch Season 1 if I knew they would kill the main cast one by one in season 2... So I think mostly everybody else from Season 1 is safe.
Hey!! How dare you!! Rationally thinking, peacemaking S1 Finn was bad, don't you know? And this new 'taking hard decisions/reckless' S2 Finn is also bad, can't you see? Get with the program of hate. :P ;) :)
I reiterate again, I love all the characters on this show. To me, situations like these and the character reactions to these situations are all part of character growth and depth respectively. While watching the show, I try to empathize with the characters - this helps me a little bit in understanding their characteristics and the motivations driving them. So, it's easy for me (at least) not to irrationally hate on characters.
Finn is actually very consistent with who he was in Season 1. He was always impulsive (see the way he trashed the bunker when all the wrist-bands were fried in one of the early episodes), and making stupid decisions (the whole spacewalking thing, anyone? there's no way to swing it as a good decision). And I'm saying it with all the love and affection I have for this character. I love flawed characters and Finn is fascinating to me. I'm very curious where they're going to take him with this character development (or downward spiral if you will). And, contrary to some shippers, I hope his friends, namely Clarke and Bellamy, won't abandon him just because "he's not himself". That's what friends are for - to stick with you when sh*t hits the fan.
LOL! Some people just won't be happy with anything ;-) Thing is, I actually liked Finn last season, I mean I still do, but I'm not one of those Bellamy crazed fans (although he did grow A LOT on me) but if I had to choose between Finn and Bellamy, my obvious answer would be Finn. My problem is that I'm having trouble connnecting with this season Finn. He did a complete 180. I't wasn't like with Clarke or Bellamy that we saw their evolution, I mean last season he would've done anything to avoid bloodshed (and he actually did when he arranged those "peacetalks" between Clarke and Anya), and now he is ok with killing them? After the finale I can see why, but still it's only been a few days, and you don't change that much that fast. Anyway, I'll make my peace with it by the time the episode airs, I'm not one of those people that holds on and won't let go, I get on with the programme fast, I just hope that we get some kind of explanation when he's finally reunited with Clarke and is back in Camp Jaha.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Nope, still don´t like Finn and probably won´t ever like him.
ReplyDeleteAw! Finn... I liked you better as a peacemaker too...

ReplyDeleteFinn's going to screw up any chance they had at making peace with the Grounders. He continues to be dumb.

If they have enough ammo it seems Finn is ready to go full Anakin Skywalker on these Grounders...

Refreshing that Murphy is the voice of reason here.
