DV Reviews Stalker"You're beggin' me to go then makin' me stay
Why do you hurt me so bad
We are young
Heartache to heartache we stand
No promises, no demands
Love is a battlefield"
- Love Is a Battlefield - Pat Benatar
The latest Stalker episode showed us how very true "Love and war" is. An ex-husband and an ex-wife were harassing one another, but in the end, it turned out different as we were initially led to believe.
This week's case starts when a female philanthropist, named Andrea, finds a series of words written on her wall while she has visitors in her house. She immediately suspects her ex-husband Kenneth, but he claims he was with his girlfriend Melissa. The case takes a deadly turn when Andrea's dog is delivered in a box to her house. It gets even worse when she is attacked in a parking lot. When the TAU looks at the footage, they notice that both the perpetrator and the man who got into Andrea's house is wearing an expensive watch. This points to Kenneth being the one responsible for stalking his ex-wife. Beth and Janice race to his house but only find Melissa there who has seen a video of Andrea and Kenneth making out. Meanwhile, Kenneth confronts Andrea at a museum fundraiser but the TAU is in time to save her. However, Jack notes that the letters written in Andrea's house are the same as some painting they saw at the fundraiser party. The footage also shows that the bloody t-shirt they found at Kenneth's place was in fact Andrea's. It turns out she is actually the stalker. She has borderline personality disorder and false victimization syndrome. Melissa heads to Andrea's house to talk to her, but is nearly killed. Fortunately, the TAU get there in time to save her.
Elsehwere in the hour, Jack once again comes to Amanda's house and talks to Ethan. Amanda's boyfriend Trent sees him there and later confronts him. Amanda herself also confronts Jack and tells him to stay away and leave Los Angeles. After the case is closed, Jack tells Beth a selective part of the truth. Beth tells him to deal with his problems because she would hate to lose him. Jack once again sees Amanda and convinces her to change her mind about getting him out of LA.
This was quite a good episode. The case of the week was interesting and provided a nice twist. I am always interested to see how certain psychological problems are shown in a TV series. I am also glad Jack told Beth the truth, or at least part of it. Another positive point about the episode was the way they showed Jack and Janice's friendship. Ben is also becoming more and more likable, something I also enjoy. All in all, a great episode!
What did you think of the episode? Did you see the twist coming? Are you happy Jack told Beth the truth? Do you think Amanda made the right decision to allow Jack to stay in Los Angeles? Tell us your opinions in the comments below!
