Episode 2.10 - Magnum Opus (24-Nov-2014)

Ichabod and Abbie get a dire message from Katrina, warning them that the earthy version of Moloch which has – despite their best efforts – been born into this world is growing stronger, and she fears his reign on Earth could begin in as little as two days time. The Two Witnesses work to decode the journal of Abbie’s ancestor, Grace Dixon, (which they retrieved during their recent travails at Tarrytown Psych) in order to find a weapon believed to be capable of defeating the demon lord, and discover the existence of the “Sword of Methuselah,” a weapon referenced by both the spirit of Abbie’s mother, as well as in the Bible, which, if legend holds, has the power to defeat Moloch. After figuring out clues from one of Ben Franklin’s notebooks, the pair thinks they may know the sword’s location, but a dire warning in the text leads them to believe their quest could be fraught with immense peril... not the least of which is the Horseman of Death, who has been sent to retrieve the weapon first.

Meanwhile, Jenny attempts to transport suspected cop-killer Frank Irving over the Canadian border while local police set up a dragnet to prevent his escape, Henry and Katrina have an overdue mother-and-son chat, and Crane reflects on his former friendship with Abraham (now the Headless Horseman) and how their shared past shaped each other’s present.

  3. Sounds like all the stories are starting to come to a head with this episode! And Jenny trying to sneak Irving out-oh, that should be exciting. Looks like it'll be a good one-I look forward to watching!

  5. I think 18 episodes this season was a mistake, way too much filler and them not having the whole team together, working as a unit, instead Jenny was barely there (instead we got Hawley, WTF?), Frank was in a psychiatric facility, also barely there and Katrina was forced to once again be kidnapped. This episode description, it sounds like things are finally coming to a head and everyone has a role to play, so hopefully it'll be good.

  6. I agree, all characters seem to have a role and purpose in this. Looking forward to mother/son talk. Defining moment whether he is reachable as Jeremy, or is he fully moloch's son Henry. Also I hear we'll be getting a scene with Ichabod and Abraham..... Long overdue brawl 😊

  7. Why does it feel as though Katrina is going to die at the end of season....?

  8. What makes you think that?

  9. The only way to get rid of baby Maloch before he is born is seemingly to kill her ....I am still hopeful that she comes up with a spell of some sort....however.....this spider kid can't be born.....and she will most likely sacrifice herself before ever letting Maloch be born.....

  10. Unless I'm mistaken that was because she was the vessel carrying Moloch, but as he is incubated elsewhere she is no longer the vessel so her dying means nothing to Moloch's rising. She is going to be spellbound into nursing him but that is epi 9, if she is warning Ichabod and Abbie that means she is no longer spellbound.

If anything I think Henry will be the one to sacrifice himself into preventing Moloch to enter. The writers love big shocking twists. So far we have seen Abraham closer to redemption than Henry but we can't lose headless as he is part of the original story, no headless no authentic Sleepy Hollow.....so I think were going to have what we think is an impossibility. Henry redeeming himself by stoping Moloch. Katrina's motherly faith has to account for something right..πŸ˜•

  11. I like Katrina so I am game for any feasible storyline that will save her.

  12. 😊I've never been worried about losing Katrina for one main and biggest reason. She is in the title promo, not the cast names but she opens the show with a rise of her hands, parting the trees. A silhouette of Katrina and Ichabod walk towards each other.

Until that changes, I will believe that where Ichabod is, will be Katrina.
