Thanks to Mac for the heads up.
CTV announced today a Season 4 order for its hit original drama series "Saving Hope" (@SavingHopeTV) from Ilana Frank’s ICF Films and Entertainment One (eOne). Eighteen new episodes of Canada’s most-watched original drama brings the series total to 67 episodes, with production set to begin summer 2015 in Toronto. The Season 4 order comes on the heels of the return of new episodes of "Saving Hope's" third season in its new Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT timeslot, starting Nov. 26 on CTV and CTV GO. The four all-new episodes culminate in a must-watch cliff-hanger on Dec. 17, before additional new Season 3 episodes continue in January 2015.
The emotionally-charged start of "Saving Hope's" third season began earlier this fall with a six-episode run. Currently averaging 1.5 million viewers, "Saving Hope" consistently won its Thursdays at 9 p.m. timeslot not only among total viewers but also in all key demos, the first Canadian original series to ever do so during the fall season. SAVING HOPE led its closest competitor, "Gracepoint" (Global/FOX), by +30% (P2+), +45% (A18-49), +76% (A25-54), and +54% (A18-34).
“Amassing a loyal fan base from across the country during its three seasons to date, 'Saving Hope' continues to play a strong and integral role in our #1 fall lineup,” said Phil King, President - CTV, Sports, and Entertainment Programming. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with the incredible cast and crew to deliver a fourth season of this hit drama.”
Season 3 began with a special two-part premiere, in which Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) was fighting to survive after being stabbed in the heart. Following her recovery, sparks are ignited with her ex, Dr. Joel Goran (Daniel Gillies), while Dr. Charlie Harris (Michael Shanks) revisits old feelings with his ex-wife Dr. Dawn Bell (Michelle Nolden). Hope Zion said goodbye to one of its own, Dr. Gavin Murphy (Kristopher Turner), while the hospital also welcomed new OB/GYN, Dr. Sydney Katz (Stacey Farber). There’s no break in the action, as Season 3 continues with a bevy of pulse‐pounding surgeries, adrenaline‐addled breakthroughs, and sultry romances ahead of its Fall Finale on Dec. 17.
In an all-new episode of "Saving Hope," entitled “The Way We Were” (Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO), Dr. Shahir Hamza (Huse Madhavji) and Dr. Alex Reid (Erica Durance) try to save the memory of a young woman suffering from Alzheimer’s with a radical surgery, but it’s another one of Hope Zion Hospital’s doctors whose life is threatened, requiring immediate medical attention. Meanwhile, Dr. Tom Reycraft (K.C. Collins) has a moral decision to make when he discovers one of his mentors is hiding a big secret. Plus, Dr. Charlie Harris (Michael Shanks) finds himself embroiled with the future baby wishes of Dawn (Michelle Nolden), and the final wishes of a con-man spirit. This episode features guest stars Danso Gordon, Mac Fyfe, and C. David Johnson.

Yes! I'm so happy to hear this news! I'm really surprised too. Not that Saving Hope was renewed but isn't it a bit early to announce show renewals?
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling this was coming when Saving Hope found a new home in the US! And it sounds like this upcoming episode is going to be great :D
ReplyDeleteThe show is doing great at CTV. If I remember correctly, aside from the US shows, is the #1 drama for the channel. The early renew helps not only with the live viewers but with the compromise regarding the actors, advertisers, and the viewers, of course.
ReplyDeleteYay, good news!!
ReplyDeleteI really would love to know how much the Gillies household makes each year now
ReplyDeleteYes!! That made my day :)
ReplyDeleteUgh. I dropped it in second season and I would rather have Gilles just in The Originals.
ReplyDeleteEven if one doesen't care for the show it's still pretty amazing considering that both shows manage to keep a lead around for 22 episodes in Atlanta and 18 in Toronto.
ReplyDeleteSchedule wise I haven't seen anything like that before
Great news, have they announced when it will return?
ReplyDeleteGilles is a busy guy lol...I think he is a great actor:)
ReplyDeleteHit on Canada, flop in the US. This pretty much tell you how different Canada and the US are in taste
ReplyDeleteBut Elijah' role has to be reduced to made that. Last season he was daggered, this season he's kidnapped and brainwashed. Next season they'll give him vampire flu.
ReplyDeletelast season, yeah. Because they couldn't coordinate it.
ReplyDeleteThis season his role hasn't been reduced at all.
They shot the first 3 episodes directly after season 1 finished shooting, then went on a 2 month break in wich Daniel shot a batch of SH episodes, they then resumed TO with Daniel shooting SH on the weekends.
And since he's not that central on SH shooting had already wrapped.
Btw. Elijah gets out tonight, so his part hasn't been reduced
Love Daniel Gillies. But love him better on the Originals. He is a busy guy and he is a wonderful actor. He is dedicated to the Originals. I am hoping that The originals gets renewed. Have season 1 of Saving Hope cant find Season 2 anywhere. And its good that they accomendate his schedule. I would not watch the Orginals without Daniel GIllies
ReplyDeleteAmazing news!!
ReplyDeleteLoved it in season 1, meh in season 2, hated the triangles in season 3. Why couldn't they renew a better show?
ReplyDelete18 episodes? Isn't the current season only 16? If so, this will be the 2nd renewal in a row where they've increased the episode order.
ReplyDeletewell Daniel Gillies clearly think otherwise ""It's such a privilege to do this show [Saving Hope], I wish it was the only one I was doing is the problem".

I love that DG is promoting SH and shading TO
ReplyDeleteclearly Canada's got a better taste
ReplyDeletededicated to the originals?? are you kidding me? he's just recently said: "It's such a privilege to do this show [Saving Hope], I wish it was the only one I was doing is the problem"

He started on the Vampire Diaries and then he started the Originals- He said when he heard that Julie wanted to do the show he was in. There would be no Originals without him. If you watch comic con that is what he said. I would not watch Saving hope if he was not in it. I just think he is sexier in the Originals.
ReplyDeleteShading his job will definitely help him in finding sponsors for his movies, so good luck.
ReplyDeletePS There is edit option, you don't have to answer to your own comments.
well sorry but I adore it
ReplyDeletethen you have canadian taste. And that's really fine, I think they have a great taste :)
ReplyDeletethanks. You don't watch it right?
ReplyDeletedm you thse stuff btw ;)
ReplyDeleteWhatever Elijah is the main actor on the Originals he makes the show. He left saving hope
ReplyDeleteyeah i was pretty bummed because TO is like real bad but i guess it pays better than SH
ReplyDeleteYea I dont think so. I only watched Saving Hope because Daniel Gillies was on. And I am a Vampire Diaries fan and the originals and its the best show. Your opinion. But I like Elijah better than Joel. But he is a amazing actor either way
