This table shows the early overnight ratings. These ratings are normally adjusted later in the day when all the ratings have been consolidated to take into account any local preemptions and/or overruns. You can find all the final adjusted numbers in our Ratings Database. (See the About section below for details about ratings)
NOTICE As you can see we are trying out a new table format. This will allow us to enter in the Top 25 Markets (if we get them), as well as additional Demo Numbers for those who are interested in them. Let us know what you think of the new table and if you have any suggestions/comments. If this format proves popular we may look to use it for future ratings posts. These new tables should also work better on mobile devices so that you can scroll the table if it does not fit on your device.

Monday 11/24/14
Household
Rating/Share
ABC 9.0/14
CBS 5.9/ 9
NBC 5.5/ 8
Fox 3.6/ 5
CW 1.0/ 1
-Percent Change from Year-Ago Evening – Monday 11/25/13:
CBS: +34, CW: +11, ABC: + 1, Fox: -16, NBC: -19
———-
Note: The following labels are based on the household overnights and are subject to change given the availability of other pending data streams. These overnights are your first look at the ratings and a precursor to what could lie ahead. And we take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence.
-Winners:
“Dancing With the Stars” (ABC), “The Voice” (NBC), “Scorpion” (CBS), “Castle” (ABC)
-Honorable Mention:
“The Big Bang Theory” R (CBS), “Gotham” (Fox), “NCIS: Los Angeles” (CBS)
-Fading:
“Sleepy Hollow” (Fox)
-Modest:
“The Originals” (CW)
-Losers (excluding repeats):
“Jane the Virgin” (CW), “State of Affairs” (NBC)
———-
Ratings Breakdown:
Note: The overnight network averages and the individual series results are estimated due to news break-ins for coverage of the Ferguson decision. WCBS in New York, in addition, carried the Jets/Buffalo Bills NFL Football match-up.
Keeping in mind that everything is approximate, two-hours of “Dancing With the Stars” on ABC topped the night with a 9.7 rating/15 share in the household overnights from 8-10 p.m., peaking in the 9:30 p.m. half-hour at a 10.1/15. Comparably, this was 39 percent above competing “The Voice” on NBC (7.0/10), but it won’t be enough to top the singing competition in the key young adult demographics. “Dancing With the Stars” concludes this fall edition tonight.
In week two news (again, this is approximate), NBC drama “State of Affairs” dropped by a hefty 33 percent week-to-week with a third-place 4.0/ 6 in the overnights at 10 p.m. Comparably, this was 39 percent below year-ago time period occupant “The Blacklist” (6.6/11 on 11/25/13). Retention for “State of Affairs” out of the 9:30 p.m. portion of “The Voice” (6.2/ 9) was only 65 percent. And “State of Affairs” trailed competing “Castle” on ABC (7.2/11) and “NCIS: Los Angeles” on CBS (6.1/10) by a significant 44 percent and 34 percent, respectively. Note to NBC: You may want to rethink moving “The Blacklist” into the Thursday 9 p.m. hour in February.
On CBS, an encore of “The Big Bang Theory” lifted the 8:30 p.m. half-hour to a third-place 4.8/ 7, which held 94 percent of the “2 Broke Girls” lead-in (#3: 5.1/ 8 at 8 p.m.). Comparably, this was 20 percent above the series-finale of “The Millers” one week earlier (4.0/ 6 on Nov. 17). Freshman drama “Scorpion,” meanwhile, perked up to a second-place 6.5/ 9 in the overnights from 9-10 p.m., which was 35 percent above the “Big Bang” lead-in encore and 30 percent above “Mike & Molly” (5.4/ 8) and “Mom” (4.6/ 7) on the year-ago evening.
Elsewhere, it was more of the same. “Gotham” on Fox (#4: 4.4/ 6 at 8 p.m.) remains a solid entry in the key demos, while lead-out “Sleepy Hollow” (#4: 2.7/ 4 at 9 p.m.) dropped by 36 percent from the year-ago evening. And another sluggish 0.9/ 1 in the overnights at 9 p.m. for recent CW entry “Jane the Virgin” is a true shame given the unique content. “The Originals” opened the night for The CW with a 1.1/ 2 at 8 p.m., which was 10 percent above year-ago occupant “Hart of Dixie” (1.0/ 2 on 11/25/13). “Jane the Virgin,” meanwhile, was still 29 percent above “Beauty and the Beast” one year earlier (0.7/ 1).

Big drop for SofA as expected. I predict 1.6 to 1.8.
ReplyDeleteBye bye State of Affair !
ReplyDeleteI assuming pre-emptions will screw everything up
ReplyDeleteLooks like SOA is only one season
ReplyDeleteNice for Castle!
If it indeed gets to air the full first season.
ReplyDeleteSleepy Hollow fading? Ugh. What's the ep count?
ReplyDeleteHmm someone has a crush on Jtv...
I am expecting CBS to be highly inflated
ReplyDeleteGiven NY is the biggest market in the country
18, I think.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDeleteWhy was The Voice so low at 9:30?
ReplyDeleteI think it will since the other option is to launch something else out of the apprentice which they probably aren't interested in.
ReplyDeleteI hope Scorpion really perked up in the demo now that the millers has been abolished.
ReplyDelete1. preemptions
ReplyDelete2. live shows do bad
preempted in NY
ReplyDeleteIt wasnt pre-empted. NBC did not cut in. ABC cut in yet the 9:30 portion of DWTS was still the highest.
ReplyDeleteCastle is really inflated since DWTS did not end until 10:15.
ReplyDeleteAnd it seems State of Affairs dropped like a rock. Let's wait for the finals.
ReplyDeleteDon;t think it will get extra episode, though.
ReplyDeleteWhat were they thinking premiering a new show after the lowestrated version of the Voice?
ReplyDeleteI know, that's why I am not putting any stock into these overnights (not that I ever do) and just saying that I hope it happens in the demo.
ReplyDeleteI would prefer to wait for the demo results (finals) to get any conclusion but if there is indeed a decline such as this one, then it probably won't, yes.
ReplyDeleteCastle was pre-empted a bit here in NY. Started 20-30minutes late.
ReplyDeleteAs expected,SoA crashed hard looks like.
ReplyDeleteTop 25 Markets 18-49 Demo Ratings have been posted
ReplyDeleteSo many pre emptions, these overnights are mostly worthless.
ReplyDeleteWow at the NBC line-up. Wow.
ReplyDeleteOUCH 1,3 for SOA?
ReplyDeleteDWTS 2.7 The Voice 2.8 ( is this the closest they have ever been?)
Castle started late everywhere on the East/Central Coast.
ReplyDeleteI understand the numbers are messed up due to the pre-emptions but... Good heaven. it looks like The Voice is starting to fall hard.
ReplyDeleteState of Afairs doing MOL Top 25 numbers.
ReplyDeleteIt was always a dumb idea IMO. But I wrote just that the exact same day NBC released their schedule back in May during the upfronts.
ReplyDeleteThis being said, I don't think the scheduling is to blame just yet. Although the show shouldn't be looked as as one of those lucky shows that got the huge voice lead-out, the voice still likely pulled low 3s or high 2s at 9h30, which is by far the best lead-in on NBC. Other shows have launched on worse slots and survived (Grimm, PD, Fire, even Parenthood). I believe we could have blamed the schedule if State of Affairs was doing okay and then fell too much in January (or in March upon returning from hiatus, both options are bad for such a young show). But if the show is already very low, then it is the show's fault IMO.
SOA looks like a disaster.
ReplyDeleteNBC's fault for premiering it out of the lowest part of the Voice.
ReplyDeleteThere could have been local pre-emptions but NBC News did not break into The Voice. DWTS did fine despite ABC News interrupting it.
ReplyDeleteIf that's the case, then, poor NBC. Their one true hit seems to be starting to decline.
ReplyDeleteI mean yes there were preemptions but no other shows fell so hard.
ReplyDeleteWas DWTS pre-empted for football in Baltimore? I know it wasn't in New Orleans.
ReplyDeleteIf I am not mistaking NBC was preempted in New Orleans
ReplyDeleteLooks like TO -0.6 and JtV-0.4.
ReplyDeleteI will assume everything is messed up by the preemptions big time, or else there are some serious weird results in there. Gotham, DWTS and Castle appear very high while TBBT (R), State of Affairs, The Voice appear very low. ABC is probably very inflated but the results for the other nets aren't clear to me.
ReplyDeleteI agree the quality, or lack of, of the show might have hurt it but NBC should have given it it's best shot... And IMHO, the best shot was to give the opening night of The Voice lead-in. I understand why they gave it to TBL but launching this show out of the lower portion of The Voice (given nothing there has actually been to take off) did nothing for it.
ReplyDeleteThe odds seem to have been against SOA from the start.
The results are indeed very, very weird. I wonder how the finals will change this.
ReplyDeleteThe Voice looks incredibly low.
It would have failed either way.
ReplyDeleteYeah looks like it. Was the CW preempted as well though?
ReplyDeleteThe ABC lineup appears very inflated. According to my estimates, this would be a 2.5 for DWTS and a 2.0 for Castle based on previous top 25 results. I don't think they did that well.
ReplyDeleteUgh. The preemption hurt SH.
ReplyDeleteWe cannot know how DWTS did exactly because it was interrupted. These results include people who watched it AND people who watched ABC news. That's what finals are for, to strip out the people who watched the news.
ReplyDeleteTrue. But you'd think they'd wait to give it the best shot it could. But, nope. It's clearly something NBC put there because to have something to air once TBL vacated the spot.
ReplyDeleteBut, hell, it would be better to air repeats of Chicago PD. Try to give it some exposure after the biggest lead-in they have.
FOX didn't break in either.
ReplyDeleteCastle's rating has 15 min of DWTS in it so it will adjust down either way.
ReplyDeleteNY cut into JTV.
ReplyDeleteas far as I know it wasn't
ReplyDeletewhat are the Top 25 market ratings for TO?
As far i know,no.
ReplyDeleteState of Affairs = #ByeFelicia
ReplyDeleteWell yes and no. I mean, NBC shouldn't have to use the voice for every single drama that they launch. And here they were still using the voice, just not the highest rated portion of it.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I think they are better off this way as strange as it sounds. State of Affairs looks like a flop anyway since it looks like it is already in mid 1s even after a voice lead-in that should end up in the high 2s. This means it would never have much of a future. A higher sampling and a higher lead-in would only mask the problem and increase the opportunity cost for NBC for taking away post voice slot for longer. This way, they got to prop up the blacklist, they still gave state of affairs some kind of chance, and they can launch a new drama out of the voice spring edition premiere (probably Odyssey).
Again, I would answer differently if State of Affairs was doing moderately well now, with low 2s or even very high 1s and it then got destroyed with the hiatus or the apprentice lead-in, but as it stands, NBC is actually looking smart .
I don' think ABC is inflated too much DWTS did a 2.3 last weeks so I am not shocked it did 2.5ish for finals
ReplyDeleteNBC was preempted as well as CBS
It was preempted on the East Coast. My friend just only saw the first half.
ReplyDeleteCould have been local. NY aired it. I was flipping channels.
ReplyDeleteThey are in the table.
ReplyDelete0.7
ReplyDeleteWasn't ABC also inflated due to MNF?
ReplyDeleteOh i see. It's about Ferguson thingy.
ReplyDeleteI think in Baltimore but NBC was in New Orleans
ReplyDeleteYa I'm sure millions tuned into ABC hoping they were showing that...
ReplyDeleteTO 1.1/ 2(like last week) and Top 25 (0.7) I hope (I pray) for 0.7
ReplyDeleteThis is one of those days where nothing counts before the finals...so many preemptions messed everything up!
ReplyDeleteI think most people were watching DWTS I doubt someone would tune in to see ABC news
ReplyDeleteTHIS STILL GOING JTV? SERIES?
ReplyDeleteThe Originals seems to fit down, did not want to 0.6 :(
GO GOTHAM!
ReplyDeleteso what do u guys think about JTV and Originals? do u think JTV will be 0.5 or 0.4 and originals 0.7 or down this week?
ReplyDeleteWell everything is off due to all the channels being preempted.
ReplyDeleteWhich looks very nice, mindy you if I say so.
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeletewho has preempted?
ReplyDeleteWonder if SH (and other shows) will do extra On Demand this week. I actually fast forwarded through to the end before watching, trying not to look but not wanting to get screwed by what I assumed would be an inevitable news break-in. And I was sadly right. Here in DC area, we got a news/president break-in. So I'm going to have to get the show off On Demand, I guess. I'd imagine it will be a weird week/outlier in some way shape or form regardless due to Ferguson.
ReplyDeleteCBS,NBC and ABC because of the Ferguson trial.
ReplyDeleteDWTS did a 2,3 last wk so it should do a 2.5 for the finals
ReplyDeleteof course, yes. thanks
ReplyDeleteOr ... non-trial, as it were. But yes, the news about the indictment broke in, at least in DC during Sleepy Hollow. Come to think of it, though, I'm not sure it broke into the Voice here. My kids were watching that this morning, and I feel like I didn't see a break-in? So I guess different networks did different things?
ReplyDeleteState of Affairs is a goner. As expected its ratings dropped pretty hard in the second week.
ReplyDeleteNBC was stupid for putting State Of Affairs against Monday Night Football, Castle and NCIS LA after the lowest rated part of The Voice. They should've waited until March or whenever The Voice comes back in spring 2015 to give SofA more promotion after the Super Bowl.
ReplyDeleteActually, thank you Marc for trying to drum up some viewership fo JTV. It truly is an adorable show and the actress is definitely one to watch. Not enough shows on TV that focus on Latinos, which is criminal given that we are the largest minority group in this country.
ReplyDeleteSOA has been on for 7 seasons.
ReplyDeletePreemptions won't help any of the ratings later today. It's gonna be brutal all around
ReplyDeleteIt'll be cancelled for Aquarius I guess. I doubt NBC keeps the Blacklist there as Marc Berman said.
ReplyDeleteGotham is pretty steady!
ReplyDeleteThe Voice was fine but all of the channels preempted 10pm programming for Obama' speech.
ReplyDeleteJtV-0.4,TO-0.6
ReplyDeleteNot everywhere as started on Time in my area (ND, MN)
ReplyDeletei expect 0.3 in coming weeks for jane and 0.6 for the originals.
ReplyDeleteif u ask me the originals is still doing good .
When did Castle come on?
ReplyDeleteOuch state of affairs. I will still watch last night's episode and If it does not make me excited i will drop it
ReplyDeleteOr Odyssey. NBC has two dramas (Odyssey, Aquarius) and three slots needing drama (Mondays at 10, Tuesdays at 9, Thursdays at 8). Mondays at 10 will sure get one of them; the other drama will go one of the other hours and the third hour will have to endure comedy in some form.
ReplyDeleteState of Affairs ratings are horrible. No one is surprised though.
ReplyDeleteNBC should either return The Blacklist to Mondays after The Voice or launch a new show after The Voice's next cycle premiere.
ReplyDeleteafter christmas shows tend to fall ,so thats why i gave 0.3 .
ReplyDelete0.4 for now
I think they are really considering keeping The Blacklist on Monday's. It has been thriving there and no other new show from them is going to reproduce the same numbers.
ReplyDeleteThey'll probably launch a new show. According to Ad-age they had planned for Aquarius to take the Monday 10pm slot in the Spring.
ReplyDeleteWho knows. It may be too late for them to do that.
ReplyDeleteThey also have Sundays to fill... Initially Odyssey was slated for Sundays.
ReplyDeleteI dont trust these ratings anymore after seeing them being wrong last week, I ll wait for tvbythenumbers to post. In all seriousness, the writing in SofA is stunning, each scene had me feeling a different emotion now thats real TV, it literally was one of my favourite shows next to PD and SVU. Stupid Ferguson messing everything up, they gotta go.
ReplyDeleteThis are the top25 markets.
ReplyDeleteThese aren't the preliminary numbers. Those are coming anywhere now.
SOFA would have tanked either way. The pre-emptions are just an excuse.
ReplyDeleteYes and EV
ReplyDeleteThe Voice: 2.7
ReplyDeleteThe Voice: 2.8
SOA: 1.7
Allegiance is more than likely going to suck in the ratings.
ReplyDeleteDWTS: 2.3
ReplyDeleteDWTS: 2.6
Castle: 2.0
EV?
ReplyDeletethey aren't.
ReplyDeleteSH 1.4, Gotham 2.3
ReplyDeleteJTV 0.4, The Originals 0.6
ReplyDeleteBC im sorry, that people cant contain themselves in this country. Im sick of of this racist BS, this happens everyday in chicago people are dying, it doesnt get this much coverage, just because a cop shot someone and they died doesnt give much to me caring for it. if people want to act like animals in ferguson let them, they are messing up their own community not mine.
ReplyDeleteGotham shouldn't see any adjustments.
ReplyDeleteCastle's half-hours are really off: 2.4/1.6
ReplyDeleteClearly, the result of an overrun by DWTS. Expect some major downwards adjustments.
The riots are ridiculous. They are destroying their communities all so that they can get noticed.
ReplyDeleteThis was a cop killing an young man when he didn't pose a threat. That's not alright.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, this is not the place to discuss this.
Tables have been fully entered
ReplyDeleteHe actually put Jane as a loser and not "deserving of a larger audience". Good for him
ReplyDeleteI love your new tables style.
ReplyDeleteEvery show on 10 p.m.
ReplyDeletePreemptions:
ReplyDeleteNBC inflated by two NFL Monday Night Football pre-emptions in
Baltimore and New Orleans. CBS inflated from 8-10 pm by local coverage
in New York and Buffalo for the Jets-Bills make-up game (moved from
Sunday to Monday at 7 pm in Detroit).
YES ABC wasn't inflated so DWTS shouldnt see much adjustment.
ReplyDeleteState of affairs did better than i thought it would
ReplyDeleteAnd all of the networks were preempted at 10pm for Obama's speech.
ReplyDeleteEven though The Voice is still quite strong (especially on 18-34) it is worriesome to see it doing sub 3s during fall. Still doing wonders for NBC.
ReplyDeleteState of Affairs not doing good, and it looks awful when you compare its 18-34 to The Voice's 18-34
It'll adjust if enough markets preempted for Ferguson coverage.
ReplyDeleteWait for adjustments. NBC is inflated by two NFL Monday Night Football pre-emptions. The ratings are likely to decrease.
ReplyDeleteYou sir are a joke. Im glad he didnt get charged, the evidence proves that he was under attack. please let the media brainwash you into the falseness of this case. God bless the family but damn, this is outrageous you believe cops are out to kill, the kid was innocent he just robbed a convience store
ReplyDeleteAnd The Voice drops below 3 (pending adjustments).
ReplyDeleteNot good for SofA. Will most likely continue to drop.
No one deserves to get shot down for robbing a convinience store. For crying out loud.
ReplyDeleteThe problem here is that the cop applied too much force in a situation that didn't require them and that's breaking the law: according to the law, you should never apply a sentence that's bigger than the crime.
Shooting some six times, one to the head , especially when he didn't pose a threat (the kid was unarmed), is way too much.
What does Top 25 in the table mean?
ReplyDeletebye JTV!
ReplyDeletehow an up :)
ReplyDeletetop 25 markets.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if it was painful for Berman to label Jane a loser this week.
ReplyDelete"And another sluggish 0.9/ 1 in the overnights at 9 p.m. for recent CW
entry “Jane the Virgin” is a true shame given the unique content".. Nope, bias here,
The most worriesome thing about SofA is that it had a 45% retention of The Voice's 18-34 demo, even lower than any telecast of Marry Me. That certainly doesn't bode well for the show

He beat the cops face in??? or did you not bother to see that, and he tried taking the cops gun, if someone who is 6'4 and 300pds is punching my face in then went for my gun, i would shoot them too.
ReplyDeleteFiring six shoots is way too excessive.
ReplyDeleteBesides, he didn't beat the cops face in. I've seen photos taken of the officer who shot own Mike Brown and he hardly looked wounded.
Thanks to NCIS LA and an improved Scorpion CBS is only down 1% from last year. Hostages really dragged the network down last year.
ReplyDeleteExpect NCIS LA to be running on Mondays for next season as well
Castle is going to see big downward adjustment.
ReplyDeleteIt most definitely will.
ReplyDeleteNo, the riots aren't ridiculous. The riots are justified.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, and they aren't doing themselves any favors.
ReplyDeleteCBS was also inflated by football from 8-10 PM in NY and Buffalo.
ReplyDeleteBut far from the monster it was
ReplyDeleteFinal numbers will be interesting
ReplyDeleteDidn't know about that, so we'll have to wait till the finals. Still, even if adjusted down, NCIS LA is big improvement over Hostages
ReplyDeleteTrue i think the 10 PM hour in the finals today might be really tight in the demo.
ReplyDeleteYes, Fox interrupted SH for Ferguson coverage about 9:40-ish for ~ 5 minutes or so in my area - mid-Atlantic East Coast - Philadelphia area TV market. Then at 10 Fox had full coverage.
ReplyDeleteI said last week that State of Affairs would be last in its timeslot in a few weeks. Didn't expect it to happen in the second week.
ReplyDeleteA three way tie wouldn't be surprising
ReplyDeleteSo how badly was ABC preempted? This is getting ridiculous
ReplyDeleteThe show deserves the push but not in an article that is supposed to be objective
ReplyDeleteWell hate to brake it to ya, the Grand Jury made up of random people, before this even happened, heard all the evidence, met with witness, most witness who lied and then are recanting their statements, found in no way that they needed to file charges against someone who was protecting themselves. Call white people racist all you want, but there where minorities on that grand jury, so sorry that you think you know eveyrtyhing but WIlson is innocent. Im thankful for the men and women in chicago who go out and protect my streets everyday not knowing if there life could end. More people die in chicago everyday due to violence on the street wheere people are shooting their own, so if a black person kills a black person its not a big deal but when it happens with a white person it gets national coverage its so pathetic the way you are close minded, open your eyes it happens,
ReplyDeleteless then CBS & NBC.
ReplyDeleteWell it was preempted in any markets for mnf
ReplyDeletePretty far indeed, but I guess you can't be a hit forever. But The Voice's ratings fall came in the best time possible, since NBC has a lot of solid players, like SVU, Chicago Fire & PD and The Blacklist. Even if The Voice isn't as big as it used to, NBC is in a better shape than it used to be, so that's pretty big for them
ReplyDeleteDWTS just 15 minutes for the Ferguson trial update which ran 15 minutes into Castle. However, the president cut in for about 10 minutes at 10.
ReplyDeleteIt came quickly
ReplyDeleteThe voice is only like 3-4 yrs old
I was confused one day as well. Hate the double use of SOA.
ReplyDeleteI love that none of this ever happens in Miami... We had like a 1 min interruption during commercials... Not that I care because I hate watching the news... Makes me either angry or depressed... Haven't watched castle yet so lets see if the pres interrupted but I doubt it....
ReplyDeleteI feel like Im living in the 60s.
ReplyDeleteThis is the closest dwts had ever been near the voice and the voice still might adjust down
ReplyDeleteGotta catch 2BG on demand. I thought because of football they didn't show it at all.
ReplyDelete2BG scored a 3.0 in the 25-54 demo. But the only thing that counts is the 18-49 demo, correct?
ReplyDeleteYep, 18-49 is the main demo used to decide renewal/cancellations, but 18-34 is even more valuable to advertisers, so shows with low 18-49 but acceptable 18-34 may pull renewals (like The Mindy Project)
ReplyDeleteCastle did well in this episode.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Too bad the bigger numbers dont count.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame, and I don't really understand why; it's like advertisers assume older people don't buy stuff, and there are shows were they could heavily advertise products for 50+ people and makes tons of money out of it, but for some reason it just doesn't happen
ReplyDeleteDWTS will also adjust down though.
ReplyDeleteStrange system. The elders in my family shop like crazy!
ReplyDeleteI commend you for your lone crusade in educating the public about the correct usage of the abbreviation. ;) :)
ReplyDeletegah... I lost any hope for Sleepy Hollow s3 & that's an awful pity...... The show is awesome & it deserved higher ratings like Perception. My favourites always have to get axed... :(
ReplyDeleteIs 1.38 to 1.17 drop in viewership ordinary for The Originals? That seems a big difference in between those half hours.
ReplyDeleteHow can you lose hope when it is a certain renewal?
ReplyDeleteSH may not be doing the numbers it was doing during S1, but it is still doing well for FOX
That is not why. That is probably the biggest misconception on the internet.
ReplyDeleteThe reason advertisers don't pay for older viewers is because how easy these people are to reach. These people tend to watch a lot more TV, particularly outside of primetime, as well as to be generally more responsive to adds (meaning they are less necessary). It is their abundance and easiness to reach that makes them worthless. Conversely, it is because it is so hard to reach young adults that they are so valuable. This is especially true for the 18-34, who barely watch TV, hence commanding a premium when they do, which is why that demo is even more valuable. It's all about scarcity - people (viewers) are treated as any other economic good and subject to the usual supply and demand laws.
I can guarantee you that if the greatest anomaly of the century happened and old people stopped watching TV and only young people were to watch, then the old ones would command the price and the young ones considered worthless.
because as you said the numebers aren't like s1. And yet 1.4 is the lowest of this season so far but thanks.
ReplyDeleteAiring two seasons a year will accelerate your decline. The Voice's age should be judged by the number of seasons it airs, not the number of years it's been on the air IMO.
ReplyDeleteThe Following posted similar drop and the same numbers as Sleepy Hollow in S2 and still got renewed. Sleepy Hollow season 3 is a sure thing
ReplyDeleteAfter the preemption mess yesterday night, I doubt any of these numbers are going to stay the same, so savor the moment for now :)
ReplyDeleteI won't really judge anything before finals but I hope TO is adjusted up and that Scorpion holds close to that level.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, I never thought about it like that, but you may be right
ReplyDeleteNot to brag, but in this particular case I am pretty sure I am ;)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, this is also why a show like Marvel's Agents of Shield is much more valuable than it meets the eye. The show is at 84% of its network's average (which by the way is already perfectly fine for renewal for a sophomore) in A18-49 but it jumps to a ridiculous 140% in M18-34, which by the way, is probably the most valuable demo on television right now considering how scarce it is (there are only 10 entertainment shows on broadcast skewing male this season and half of these are FOX Sunday comedies).
A grand jury, to indict, needs to have a majority of 75% to indict. Considering it seems that the Grand jury in the case were 9 white people and 3 black people, don't you think the jury was already wired for the case not be indicted? You really need to develop a critical thinking before posting this stuff.
ReplyDeleteBesides, using black-on-black crime to justify the coverage it's a pathetic attempt at a counter-argument. Crime within an ethnic group doesn't invalidate crime between two distinct ethnic groups (especially if it was due to racism. Which it was).
Wilson didn't have any grounds to shoot Mike Brown as he did. And that's what the facts say.
There are other factors why the young age groups are more valuable for the advertisers, just to mention some:
ReplyDelete- less brand loyalty, higher chance to try new things
- even more important is that they have less brand rejection than the older ones. The worst thing is a strong dispreference and older people tend to have more bad experiences than young ones.
- maybe sounds silly, but better memory. People who watch an ad at 10 p.m. at home should remember the product when they go shopping a day or two later. It was tested that older people identify the advertised product on the shelf with a significantly worse chance than younger ones.
Actually the facts say he had the right to shoot wilson, hence the judgement of the grand jury. Nothing racist occured here the only thing going on is you stating that white people are racist, and thats prejudice. How dare you state that the cop who shot wilson wasnt shooting him to protect his own life, if I could post a pic on here i would of his face after this matter. He used his judgement to protect himself and the people around him. If you creep WIlson facebook you can see pictures of him with pointing guns etc, so how does that make him a good person. The evidence was not tampered with and the jurors where not swayed, your so ignorant the way you are talking. You make me wanna sit here and be racist due to the nature that you think this cop was wrong. Once again, please tell me how my justification is wrong, it happens everyday!!!!!! you are a moron, cause people kill people everyday. doesnt matter the race get a clue
ReplyDeleteBy the way your stating that crime between one ethnic group is ok.... you need to watch what you post. You sound ignorant, and racist towards white people. good day.
ReplyDeleteAlso, The Voice is not producing the same numbers anymore and it'll be harder to launch a new hit show from The Voice in the future. That's why I think if they do want to launch a new show it has to start at the same day as The Voice's new season, when its ratings are the highest of its season.
ReplyDeleteRiots are justified? Get some help man.
ReplyDeleteNo, they're not. I'm all for people protesting the verdict if they disagree with it, they have every right to do so. I fully understand people's anger and frustration. But adding more violence and making people terrified to leave their homes is NOT the way to do it. It will not help the situation, nor will it make anyone take them and their complaints seriously. It'll only make things worse.
ReplyDeleteIf people want to protest, they can do so peacefully. Maturely. The photos I'm seeing from Ferguson this morning are insane. There's no excuse for this.
You make me wanna sit here and be racist due to the nature that you think this cop was wrong.
ReplyDeleteReeeeeeeeally not helping your argument when you say stuff like this.
This news makes me happy.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'll keep it up until the show gets canceled or people start using SofA. I mean it's only one extra letter how hard is that?
ReplyDeleteYa know, I kept typing the wrong last name, for the wilsons, i meant Brown. I agree Im happy he wasnt charged. my bad on the confusion
