Metered Market Tuesday Ratings
Clean Sweep for CBS; Sitcoms on NBC and Fox Underwhelm
Tuesday 11/18/14
Household
Rating/Share
CBS 9.0/14
NBC 5.1/ 8
ABC 3.2/ 5
Fox 2.7/ 4
CW 2.1/ 3
-Percent Change from Year-Ago Evening – Tuesday 11/19/13:
CW: +110, Fox: +12, NBC: – 9, CBS: -10, ABC: -35
———-
Note: The following labels are based on the household overnights and are subject to change given the availability of other pending data streams. These overnights are your first look at the ratings and a precursor to what could lie ahead. And we take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence.
-Winners:
“NCIS” (CBS), “The Voice” (NBC), “The Flash” (CW), “NCIS: New Orleans” (CBS), “Chicago Fire” (NBC)
-Losers (excluding repeats):
“Marry Me” (NBC), “New Girl” (Fox), “About a Boy” (NBC), “The Mindy Project” (Fox), “Forever” (ABC)
———-
Ratings Breakdown:
CBS scored a clean Tuesday sweep in the household overnights, besting NBC by a hefty 76 percent with its combination of “NCIS” (11.0 rating/17 share – #1 for the night), spin-off “NCIS: New Orleans” (10.0/15) and “Person of Interest” (6.1/10). But the distance between the two networks will be considerably smaller in adults 18-49 care of NBC’s “The Voice,” which was on the map with a 7.1/11 (#2) from 8-9 p.m.
NBC, unfortunately, is not capitalizing on the lead-in support from “The Voice” as a result of 9-10 p.m. sitcoms “Marry Me” (#2: 3.6/ 5) and sophomore “About a Boy” (#3: 2.9/ 5), with “Marry Me” down by 50 percent in the overnights from the 8:30 p.m. portion of “The Voice” (7.2/11). But “Chicago Fire” built from 66 percent from “About a Boy,” with a second-place 4.8/ 8 from 10-11 p.m. And that should be enough to win the hour in the key demographics.
Over at ABC, a repeat of Shark Tank” stepped in for canceled sitcoms “Selfie” and “Manhattan Love Story,” and it averaged a third-place 3.3/ 5 at 8 p.m. Next was relocated “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” at a third-place 3.1/ 5 from 9-10 p.m., which should still translate into some interest in the young adult demos. And that led into a last-place 3.2/ 5 at 10 p.m. for freshman drama “Forever,” which if normal patterns prevail will drop in the vicinity of 33 percent in adults 18-49 from “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.” ABC may want to rethink that full season renewal for “Forever.”
Elsewhere, recent returnee “MasterChef Junior” on Fox may not seem like much with a 3.2/ 5 (#4) from 8-9 p.m. But that same overnight rating last week translated into a 1.8 rating/6 share among adults 18-49, which is a vast improvement from short-lived fall entry “Utopia.” Next were 9-10 p.m. comedies “New Girl” (#4: 2.3/ 4) and “The Mindy Project” (#4: 2.0/ 3), which continue to underwhelm in all categories. From a traditional ratings standpoint, there was no need for Fox to extend the current episode order for “The Mindy Project.”
With “Selfie” and “Manhattan Love Story” gone, and “Marry Me,” “About a Boy,” “New Girl” and “The Mindy Project” all struggling, viewers apparently are not looking for a chuckle – or two – on Tuesday.
On The CW, “The Flash” is the real deal with a 2.6/ 4 at 8 p.m., which translated into a 1.4/ 4 in adults 18-49 based on this same overnight household rating last week. And that remains a positive for The CW. Veteran “Supernatural” followed with a 1.6/ 2 (#5) at 9 p.m., which was one-tenth of a rating point (or seven percent) above the 1.5/ 2 from one week earlier.

Shark Tank is such a beast repeater.
ReplyDeleteAhh shield yes finally!!! Shark tank wow what a monster in the ratings part it beat shield but at least shield is up yes!!
ReplyDeleteHopefully MAOS will be up. I need a miracle to save About a Boy :/
ReplyDeleteplease ABC renewed Agents of Shield and Forever !!!
ReplyDeleteI still can't get over seeing things like this: (CW: +110) beside the CW's name.Their Tuesday nights are just unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteForever will def be canceled
ReplyDeleteWell done, Marc, you didn't mix up NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans this time! I'm proud of you!
ReplyDeleteIf Forever was at 9, I'm pretty sure it would have made a better score than "AOS"... (since it already does at 10...)
ReplyDeleteAlso, maybe this shows ABC that it would be a good idea to put Beyond The Tank at 8pm as a lead-in for Shield as I've argued for before.
ReplyDeleteIt would really benefit shield I didn't think shark tank rerun would do well but damm those hh ratings look good plus I think attilan and other fators helped shield which is why I'm pissed its taking another week break way to kill the momentum like last time
ReplyDeleteAoS should be renewed. Forever will likely be cancelled.
ReplyDeleteMy poor comedies :(
ReplyDeleteComedies do so dreadful on Tuesdays. I'm also in need of a miracle, but for Marry Me in my case.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't NBC comedies do good? Damn it!
I love New Girl and Mindy but I've made peace with its ratings as I believe both will still be renewed and also because they are stronger than face value would indicate due to A18-34 and W18-34.
ReplyDeleteAbout a Boy on the other hand is just all sorts of sad and wrong to see having these ratings .
I hope SPN goes back up to a 1.0 this week!
ReplyDeleteThe Flash is rock solid! Looking at a 1.4, hopefully a 1.5 :)
ReplyDeleteForever has never outrated Shield and it has never actually been that close.
ReplyDelete:( Forever is one of my favorites of this year. i'm happy for Shield and i hope to see the show grow so much on ratings. -_-
ReplyDeleteNot in the demos it wouldn't.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I will see at least another 22 editions of the adventures of Jessica Day & Co., but I can't stand this agony with About A Boy and Marry Me.
ReplyDeleteNBC will most likely renew one at least one of the three new midseason comedies they have in store. It will be put after The Voice when Marry Me ends. It will get decent ratings and will be renewed. I think UKS will be it.
ReplyDeleteDoubt it.
ReplyDeleteYes so glad the drop stopped😄
ReplyDeleteI hope AoS goes up a little from last week!
ReplyDeleteIt stopped a few episodes ago.
ReplyDeleteIt got 1.4 for last 2 episodes.
ReplyDeleteVoldemort cursed all NBC comedies.
ReplyDeleteI know! Stable!
ReplyDeleteConsidering that not even The Voice can lift them, I would start considering the possibility
ReplyDeleteAnyone got a comparison as to how the networks have grown (or lost) compared to last year?
ReplyDeleteThe CW and ABC look like they may have grown while FOX has almost certainly lost since last year. Not sure about CBS and NBC.
I hope The Flash got at least 1.4 this week too.
ReplyDeleteI knew the character was more popular than arrow, but as a non-comic fan,i really had no idea this much!
ReplyDeleteI agree
ReplyDeleteYes, please! About time. Yesterday's episode was cute and old school.
ReplyDeleteI think it will.Last week's promo was horrible and castiel fans actively boycotted it.No issues with this one!
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit ridiculous that Undateable was doing better in a summer burnoff!
ReplyDeleteMy Dvr recorded Shark Tank last night instead of Selfie! I've never watched it. No one told my dvr that Selfie was cancelled I guess!
ReplyDeleteAnd how sad and pathetic is it. Downside of having passionate fanbase.
ReplyDeleteya, too much of anything is never good,i guess!
ReplyDeleteI loved Fan Fiction and this week's was really fun, old school SPN.
ReplyDeleteI am actually surprised that no crazy person has claimed that this is a curse for NBC having cancelled show "xxx" (insert name of cancelled show)
ReplyDeleteYeah that surprised me too! Especially when you compare the numbers to Arrow. Which I also love.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a super fan of them but both the shows are very entertaining and for a action-superhero flick, arrow's writing is pretty good IMO.
ReplyDeleteWas Arrow really that much lower in its 1st season in November?
ReplyDeleteI have to appreciate the fact the flash is performing so weel and that too on CW!Good for them!SPN is back to the 1.0 range,i guess.Such a stable performer!
ReplyDeleteDo you mean season to date?
ReplyDeleteIf so, here are the current standings:
- ABC: -1%
- CBS: -10%
- CW: -2%
- FOX: -20%
- NBC: -11%
These numbers exclude all sport shows, all Saturday airings and all Sunday 7pm airings.
Note that the CBS numbers are somehow inflated because they ignore a very depreciating day for most of the season so far (Thursdays where they had TNF).
For intance, if we look at only last week:
- ABC: +10%
- CBS: -24%
- CW: -7%
- FOX: -18%
- NBC: +6% (this one is not the best comparison since it includes five hours of the voice and the abnormally rated hours of the Dick Wolf shows, which makes a lot of difference... the previous two weeks were down 21% each for instance)
I've heard that the CW could end in the 2017 season. Is the addition of Flash enough to save it if it keeps these numbers?
ReplyDeleteHow many high performer's would it need to definitely survive?
It got 1.3 only once in it's entire run,1.2 a couple of times but mostly 0.9/1.0.It was nowhere near this range.Only TVD was on this level when it premiered in 2009,A bit higher actually but that was 6 years ago. Can't actually compare them.
ReplyDeleteI'm talking about the number of viwers, indeed. Since "Forever" and "Shark Tank" are far more compatible.
ReplyDeleteTheir contract expires after 2016,last i heard.
ReplyDeleteYeah thanks :)
ReplyDeleteHuh I figured The CW would have grown since Mondays and Tuesdays are doing much better. Thursday must really be dragging them down more then I thought.
But it's the demo that matters, not the viewers.
ReplyDeleteCW is doing great on Tuesdays!!! It's so nice to see that happen!!!
ReplyDeleteThis TVD-Reign combo definitely isn't working, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteEven if The CW ends I can see Netflix picking up The Flash.
ReplyDeleteThat means next season is their last chance to do something. CW is my favorite net. I hope they get a new hit or two.
ReplyDeleteAdd Arrow and Supernatural to those who would be saved by Netflix
ReplyDeleteThat -20% drop for Fox is jaw dropping. Wow.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope they take Arrow too!
ReplyDeleteMy suggestion-shed the female skewing shows and add some more super-hero flick.
ReplyDeleteYep. That's basically it, though Fridays are also providing minor growth:
ReplyDeleteSeason to date:
- Mondays: +47%
- Tuesdays: +8% (or +17% if you exclude the Tuesdays in which they went into repeats on the night of election coverage two weeks ago)
- Wednesdays: -9%
- Thursdays: -34%
- Fridays: +9%
Remember however that this includes the first two weeks of the season which for the most part were summer programming for them. Excluding them you get to something like this (which I believe is more or less what you were looking for):
- Mondays: +59%
- Tuesdays: +9% (or +20% excluding the repeats night)
- Wednesdays: -10%
- Thursdays: -33%
- Fridays: +13%
Yup. Supernatural is a top performer for Nerflix. I'd imagine that they'd want it to have some kind of resolution, even if it's just a special hour long episode or something to wrap things up.
ReplyDeleteLucky for me,My fav show TVD will have ended it's run by then.
ReplyDeleteIt has room for improvement but I thought it was an okay decision to let it stick together and focus on other stuff for one year instead of launching a new drama out of decaying TVD and against Scandal. Next year they should address it but for now I think it's ok. And I expect the year to year comparisons to become significantly more favorable in the Spring. I don't think TVD will experience a similar drop as last year.
ReplyDeleteThe CW is down year to year? Considering the huge success of The Flash and the vastly improved Monday line up I thought they would be up
ReplyDeleteLook at ABC-all thanks to TGIT!
ReplyDeleteDon't get overly excited about this figure (+110) - yes, it's fantastic but last year at this time The CW aired a "Lady Gaga Special" (0.3 demo) in place of The Originals, which was averaging 1.0 at the time. SPN 9.07 (Bad Boys) got only 0.9 as a result of the poor lead-in; I recall Berman even saying SPN did well "considering".
ReplyDeleteMight as well change their name to "DCW" 😄
ReplyDeleteI hope it doesn't drop below 0.5 in spring-TVD i mean!
ReplyDeleteSee my post above in which I detail the days of the week. But the main issue is that Thursdays are down a lot. The Vampire Diaries was their biggest show last year and in recent week has had declines of more than 40%. That weights in a lot. Also, while the flash is indeed an epic success, The Originals was actually doing very well last fall here, often pulling 1.0 or even 1.1s, so the growth is not that exponential (and Supernatural has declined on top of that).
ReplyDeleteRegardless, considering broadcasters are, on average, down 9% year to year, anything below that line is actual growth year to year - that's the correct measure to evaluate a network's trajectory (or a show for the matter).
All their other shows are getting hardly 1.5 mil, what can i say!Except SPN,of course!
ReplyDeleteI doubt it. I think 0.7 is a bottom, may be occasional 0.6. It'll be OK.
ReplyDeleteYeah there is no other way to spin that, it's truly horrible. But I think people haven't realized yet how much of a bad season CBS is also quietly having. TNF and Big Band on Mondays masked a lot of things. For instance, the past two weeks, they were down 25% and 24% each week, while FOX was "only" down 15% and 18%, respectively. They had attenuating circumstances in both weeks (preemption of Tuesday lineup the first, the horrible awards show on Friday), but still, the fact that they're vulnerable enough to this is bad news.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't Netflix have deal with Marvel? Wouldn't that be a conflict of interest?
ReplyDeletebecome a wb owned show . cuz to be honest cbs shows r dragging them down
ReplyDeleteNah, I don't think so. Netflix have a wide variaty of shows and movies, long time competitors among them. Viewers can watch whatever they like at any time, it's not like when they compite face to face on a timeslot or in movie theaters
ReplyDeleteBut it was still doing 1.2 and 3.8 mil viewers in November of its first season and it debuted with a 1.3 and 4 mil viewers. And i think it got the 1.3 demo 4 times in the fall of 2012/13. The drop below 1.0 for Arrow came in late February. One could argue that the Flash droped much more from its premiere numbers then Arrow.
ReplyDeleteFlash debuted amazingly with a 1.9 and 4.79 viewers. I dont think anybody expected that kind of numbers for Flash but it was still expected to do better then Arrow since Flash is a much bigger name then Green Arrow in the comics. But its still early in the season and just like with Arrow i think Flash will also drop in the upcoming months, especially spring time. .
Netflix already carries Arrow, so I don't see why The Flash would cause a problem.
ReplyDeleteNice AOS now hopefully it doesn't fall too much from the top 25
ReplyDeleteI figured with Daredevil and other Marvel shows coming to Netflix that the rules have changed.
ReplyDeleteTGIT is a huge part of it for sure but most things are working on the network this season. Sundays in particular have been instrumental for the better year to year tends (especially OUAT). Look at the days of the week breakdown (first number is the trend so far/ second number is last week's only):
ReplyDelete- Monday: -8% | +4%
- Tuesday: -27% | -22% (keep in mind that Shield's very high initial results should be out of the way soon so the y2y trend will improve)
- Wednesday: -5% | -4%
- Thursday: +19% |+ 33%
- Friday: +3%| +7%
- Sunday: +13% | +41%
Good for Shield. Hoped for higher for SPN based on HH; doubt it rises from the Top 25.
ReplyDeleteNetflix just sucks in as most franchises as it possibly can, and it doesn't harm any other franchise; they have the perfect business as they can gather all the shows and franchises they want without harming any of them
ReplyDeleteYou're right-it got 1.3 for 1.01,1.02,1.5 and 1.07
ReplyDeleteNot true. Arrow got 1.3 3 times, for episode 1.01, 1.02, and 1.05. It also got multiple 1.2s.
ReplyDeletePretty sure no one boycotted anything
ReplyDeleteFOX not looking to horrible
ReplyDeleteSeems ABC rose slightly
The Voice keeps dropping- CF really didn't gain a lot of momentum from last week crossover (NBC besides TBL has no show that can constantly do 2s w/out a lead in
I'm not, I'm realistic. I just like seeing it and it doesn't take away from how great their Tuesday nights are. I also don't give 2 pennies what Berman says. His spin rhetoric deserves its own How To manual.
ReplyDeleteYes, Shield looks to be up!
ReplyDeleteDidn't u read any fan forum last week.It was definitely a contributing factor.I'm not a US viewer but as a castiel fan,i was pissed.Others must have felt the same.I think everybody expected at least 1.0 for their 200th episode when they can pull 1.1 or was it 1.2 for their season finale in may!
ReplyDeleteABC should cut its losses and run Castle repeats instead of Forever.
ReplyDeleteArrow also got 2 1.2s again its second season and this year already got 1.1, I doubt The Flash would get back to 1.8 next season but I'd love to be wrong.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing SPN-0.9,TF-1.5.
ReplyDeleteA lot of things will change when the real ratings come out no way shield will hit a 1.9 and 1.9 for New girl
ReplyDeleteABC tends to go up but i really doubt AoS will spike that much.I'm guessing 1.7.
ReplyDeleteYeah i say 1.6-1.7 and New girl 1.6
ReplyDeleteI expected SPN to touch 1 today.
ReplyDeleteFrom the Top 25 it seems that:
ReplyDelete-the entire CBS line-up is up
-Masterchef is equal to the week ago but Fox comedies look up
-the Shark Tank repeat did better than Modern Family, Shield is up while Forever is flat
-The Voice and Chicago Fire are both down by half a ratings point while there is nothing to say about the NBC comedies
-The Flash is up 0.1 and Supernatural is down by 0.1
But of course, actual demos are coming in an hour!
Hmmm we shall see. Anything can happen still
ReplyDeleteI adore About a Boy to death but there is a difference between having no lead-in and airing at 10pm out of a sub average lead-in which is what About a Boy is. I think if you give Fire an average rated show like SVU as a lead-in it breaks a 2.0.
ReplyDeleteCW never goes up from their top market numbers. It can do 0.9 at their best.
ReplyDeletePeople are getting that confused as they are basing it on Tribune/CW affiliation deal ending. Tribune is the CW affiliate in many big markets. and Tribune is putting some out there as a negotiating tactic to try and get a better deal from CW which includes them being in on the decision making.
ReplyDeleteBut Tribune isn't the be-all-end-all. Remember CW is owned by CBS and Warner Brothers. It's not like MyNetworkTV or ION.
The Flash got 1.8 in the top 25 demo 2 episodes ago and 1.5 in the top 25 demo last week. In both times the actual ratings was 1.4. The week before it had 1.7 in the top 25 and 1.5 in the total demo..
ReplyDeleteDidn't know that. Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteEntire CBS line-up is up because last week all shows lost at least 3 tenths in the demo due to the preemption 2 weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteWhat the...?! Those early top 25 markets for New Girl! Are they right?!
ReplyDeleteMy guess is 1.7 for Shield and 1.6 for New Girl
ReplyDeleteI would expect 1.6 based on these, which is on par with two weeks ago, not that shocking IMO. Last week it was hurt from facing the voice. This week it's back to being in a good situation: good lead-in and bearable competition.
ReplyDeleteThe Voice got 3.0 last week and it was a two-hour edition.
ReplyDeleteNews to me, thanks.
ReplyDeleteIt's a stretch to assume that one preemption would cause procedural shows to drop like that.
ReplyDeleteThe Voice keeps dropping because this week's was a 1 hour results show unlike last week's 2 hour performance show.
ReplyDeleteI think New Girl and Mindy may still beat the NBC comedies in the hour.
ReplyDelete1.3 equated to a 1.6 in the demo for POI three weeks ago. Hoping it does at least that today.
ReplyDeleteI'm crossing my fingers, too.
ReplyDeleteIt's just that it seems oddly high on the top 25, I don't remember seeing it doing a 1.9 before. That being said, you are probably right. Master Chef is really propping up FOX Tuesdays
ReplyDeleteThey most defenitely will
ReplyDeleteThat would be my guess too
ReplyDeleteNew Girl skews young and probably does better in the top 25 than most shows.
ReplyDeleteI expect a 1.6 for NG and a 1.3 for Mindy. Mindy certainly deserves that 4th season renewal!
New Girl has definitely hit a 1.9 before. May I ask how long have you been on this site?
ReplyDeleteI guess that might depend on how it rates at that time?
ReplyDeleteEspecially if we're talking about NCIS.
ReplyDeleteeasy answer to that Arrow, TO, SPN, TVD, Reign are all down. Also Wed 9pm is down. Monday to Thursday 3 slots are up and 5 are down.
ReplyDeleteShark Tank (R): 1.1
ReplyDeleteSHIELD: 1.6
Forever: 1.0
NCIS: 2.6
ReplyDeleteNCIS:O: 2.3
POI: 1.6
Bang on Brad. Back to stability.
ReplyDeleteThe Voice: 2.6 (ouch!)
ReplyDeleteMarry me: 1.6
About a Boy: 1.3
Chicago Fire: 2.0
(Chicago Fire did very well)
The Flash: 1.3
ReplyDeleteSupernatural: 1.0
MasterChef: 1.5
ReplyDeleteNew Girl: 1.4
TMP: 1.1
Marry Me at a 1.6! That is higher than the 1.5 it got 3 weeks ago and with a weaker Voice! Maybe there is hope :D
ReplyDelete*cheers in celebration*
ReplyDeleteOuch shield and forever
ReplyDeleteMay not be the best, but we're good for now. And there's the possibility of adjusting up.
ReplyDeleteGood for POI. I hope that Fans are happy :)
ReplyDeleteSHIELD is up and Forever is steady. Not that bad.
ReplyDeleteYep. Though it'd be good, the ratings don't need to be astronomically high. These are decent, and suit me just fine.
ReplyDeleteSo basically back to preemption numbers. Nice.
ReplyDeleteAt least PoI is back to 1.6 :)
ReplyDeleteThat's very very good for The Voice. Let's not forget that it was a results show.
ReplyDeleteChicago fire did great,i expected more drop!
ReplyDeleteOh my bad since i do not watch both ... i was just comparing them to other shows. We all know that forever will be cancelled anyway
ReplyDelete1.3 for the Flash? Still good for a CW show but it's been dropping quite a bit since the series premiere
ReplyDelete18-34 rating per showbuzzdaily:
ReplyDeleteNBC:
The Voice: 1.7 (season low)
Marry Me: 1.1
About a Boy: 0.8
Chicago Fire: 1.5
FOX:
Master Chef Jr: 1.1
New Girl: 1.2
TMP: 1.0
ABC:
AoS: 1.0
Forever: 0.7
CBS:
NCIS: 1.4
NCIS NO: 1.2
POI: 0.8
CW:
Flash: 1.2
SPN: 1.1
Wow Chicago Fire! Crossover did wonders for this week's ratings.
ReplyDeleteI stand corrected, happily.
ReplyDeleteMay adjust up to match last week's 1.4
ReplyDeleteIr has been steady for a while. A 1.3 is excellent for the CW
ReplyDeleteOh, what a relief... TF will probably adjusted up and SPN down on the finals, as usual. Still good for SPN!
ReplyDeleteCW half hour numbers please!
ReplyDeleteWahey Supernatural! You get that 1 you old dawg!
ReplyDeleteWhat I'm most surprised: Chicago Fire almost there with The Voice ratings on 18-34 (1.5 for CF, 1.7 for The Voice)
ReplyDeleteAnd look at those viewer numbers!
ReplyDeleteSupernatural basically never adjusts down
ReplyDelete1.3/1.4 Flash
ReplyDelete1.1/1.0
Good for SPN,this show is so resilient!
ReplyDeleteShark tank repeats are massive!
ReplyDeleteYa,it did once last year as i remember.
ReplyDeleteIt does like 50% of times. It never adjusts up thou
ReplyDeleteAoS went up Yay!! The Flash went down one point. I hope it adjusts up and remain stable. Ouch Forever. PoI is back to 1.6. cool
ReplyDeleteCF did really impressive! A 2.0 from a 1.2??? WOW!
ReplyDeleteWow!SPN got a big bump from last week!
ReplyDeleteFlash is down. Maybe it'll adjust up.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty much used to low numbers for AoS, now.
Flash probably will adjust up
ReplyDeleteGreat! So may be it will keep precious 1.0 !
ReplyDeletebaring last week,it adjusted up every week. This week will be no exception,i hope.
ReplyDeleteOh AOS although its up from last week I would really like if the show like stayed above or at 1.7
ReplyDeleteI believe it only adjusted down once so far this year, for the season premier. Down from 1.2 to 1.1.
ReplyDeleteSPN way up in viewers, was there an overrun? Flash will adjust up and SPN will go down in viewers?
ReplyDeleteRight? Is that a massive come back after nostalgic 200th? I hope so! Here comes CW press release!
ReplyDeleteGosh I hope not. My DVR started recording SPN at 8:01 (CST), and I missed part of the episode...so if there was an overrun, it wasn't much.
ReplyDeleteIt's weird that with 2.6 million viewers, it's at a 1.0 but last year it would hit a 1.0 at around 2.0 million viewers.
ReplyDeleteNot in the least. Mindy got a 1.1. No 4th season renewal deserved. If she gets it, it'll be because Fox has nothing on their slate.
ReplyDeleteI hope The Flash is adjusted up.
ReplyDeleteYear to year comparisons:
ReplyDeleteNBC:
The Voice: +37% from TBL at 8PM, -19% from its year ago airing at 9PM. (2.6 vs 1.9)
Marry Me/About a Boy: -55% from a 9PM Voice. (1.5 vs 3.2)
CF: +5% vs its year ago airing. (2.0 vs 1.9)
CBS:
NCIS: -13% vs its year ago airing. (2.6 vs 3.0)
NCIS NO: -8% vs NCIS LA last year. (2.3 vs 2.5)
POI: -20% vs its year ago airing. (1.6 vs 2.0)
CW:
Flash: +433% vs last years I heartradio Album Release. (1.3 vs 0.3)
SPN: +11% vs its year ago airing. (1.0 vs 0.9)
ABC:
Shield: -33% vs its 8PM airing last year (1.6 vs 2.4) and -24% vs last year The Goldbergs/David Blaine special. (1.6 vs 2.1)
Forever: -62% from last year David Blaine special. (1.0 vs 2.6)
FOX:
Masterchef Jr: +7% vs last year Dads/B99 combo (1.5 vs 1.4)
New Girl: -28% vs its last year airing. (1.4 vs 1.7)
TMP: -8% vs last its last year airing (1.1 vs 1.2)
POI is losing way too much of NO's audience and demo - looks like some channel flipping based on CF's spike at 10. It has one of top 2 CBS 9 PM leads (CM being other).
ReplyDeleteST (R) really didn't do much. NBC is wasting TV on those comedies - they've tried it for several week in spring and now - it's not really working. As TV is starting its slow drop, NBC needs to nurture another hour long series.
CBS won the night on adults 18-49 for the first time this season. The Voice dropping propped them to victory
ReplyDeleteSo... Mindy came in fourth in the key demo, had the lowest overall audience of the night, and lost to Supernatural in 18-34. Yet Fox extended the episode order. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteFlash half-hours: 1.3/1.4
ReplyDeleteSPN: 1.1/1.0
I'm glad to see I was wrong :)
ReplyDeleteI'll take any increase I can get for SHIELD 1.6 is better then 1.4 foresure it will be interesting to see how it does in December when many shows are on hiatus
ReplyDeleteReally? May be its me being paranoid then :)
ReplyDeleteFlash dipped😢.
ReplyDeleteHopefully it'll adjust up.
Demo half hours:
ReplyDeleteAoS: 1.7/1.5
Forever: 1.0/1.0
NCIS: 2.6/2.6
NCIS NO: 2.3/2.2
POI: 1.7/1.5
Master Chef Jr: 1.5/1.6
The Voice: 2.5/2.8
Chicago Fire: 1.9/2.1
Yes, this year demo is lower. I guess they picked up too many useless teens
ReplyDeleteYep :) I think that the 0.8 a few weeks back had us all a little paranoid!
ReplyDeleteIt'll go on hiatus Dec. 9 and wont be back till March... It will probably dip more
ReplyDeleteI hope so. I did get pretty nostalgic when Deans new amulet came back out so maybe DVR viewers did too and decided to watch live?
ReplyDeleteI expected a little higher for AAB, but I'll take it. Great for Chicago Fire. The Voice and The Flash should adjust up, Marry Me should adjust down.
ReplyDeleteSo in 18-34 a 10 year old CW show beat About a Boy, The Mindy Project, Agents of Shield, Forever, Person of Interest and drew with Marry me and Masterchef Jr. Wow. I'm very impressed. Now lets wait a few hours before Supernatural gets adjusted down massively or something haha.
ReplyDeleteThat show is so boring
ReplyDeleteI take it week by week so this week is a good sign, a lot of shows have their mid season finales this week so It will be interesting to see how the show responds both pre and post hiatus
ReplyDeleteCool, SPN got a 1.0....hopefully it holds in the finals and doesn't adjust down.
ReplyDeleteAt least POI is up.
ReplyDeleteI would say that, yes, alot of the talk before the EP aired, or even months; prior added to it. But even i was seeing Cas/Misha fans saying "please don't boycott the episode!" so i see it more as don't generalize ALL of us.
ReplyDeleteI was pissed. Still am pissed but I didn't boycott. Alot of my friends didn't boycott. So I mean....to me it's just more of /some/ fans didn't boycott. Others didn't watch because they didn't want to sit through the "embarrassment" of the EP.
And I concur. I was waiting anxiously for the final viewer count and when I got the numbers...major disappointment.
But I wouldn't put the blame of that fully on Cas/Misha fans. I think it should go to various groups/fans because it wasn't just Cas/Misha fans that were upset.
Whoa Chicago Fire grew a lot at the half hour. I hope it adjust up.
ReplyDeleteGlad AoS didn't drop.
ReplyDeleteI would just be ecstatic if Supernatural reaches 3 million.
ReplyDeleteSupernatural was #1 in the hour with Men 18-34!!
ReplyDeleteyay Shield up.
ReplyDeleteThey really need to find SOMETHING male-skewing to place in the Tuesday 8pm slot. AoS is like the poor friendless kid who is left alone when the class is divided into partners.
ReplyDelete
