Ratings Breakdown:
It was by no means one of the higher rated football match-ups. But the Chicago Bears at the Green Bay Packers on “Sunday Night Football” kept NBC in the overnight winner’s circle, with an estimated 11.1 rating/18 share in households from 8:30-11:30 p.m. The peak half-hour was a 13.1/20 at 8:30 p.m. Earlier in the evening on NBC was pre-game “Football Night in America” at a 2.1/ 3 (#4) at 7 p.m., a 4.2/ 7 (#3) at 7:30 p.m. and an 8.4/13 at 8 p.m. (#2).

CBS, which aired as planned, remains a Sunday night attraction for older viewers. Granddaddy “60 Minutes” opened the evening with an 8.6/14 in the overnights from 7-8 p.m. And it led into “Madam Secretary,” which earned its full season renewal, at an 8.6/13 at 8.m., followed by “The Good Wife” (#2: 7.5/11) and “CSI” (#2: 5.9/10) from 9-11 p.m. If “CSI” does officially conclude this spring (the network trimmed the current season episode order from 22 to 18 installments), CBS will hopefully give it the finale it deserves.

Fox got a boost care of a half-hour football overrun (#1: 13.5/22 at 7 p.m.) into post-game “The OT” at 7:30 p.m. (#2: 7.2/12). And that lifted young adult demo favorite “The Simpsons” to a 4.4/ 7 at 8 p.m. (#3), which was 57 percent above the year-ago evening. With stronger lead-in support, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (#4: 3.0/ 4), “Family Guy” (#4: 2.9/ 5) and recent entry “Mulaney” (#4: 1.5/ 2) from 8:30-10 p.m. all increased from one week earlier (“Family Guy” was a repeat). But “Mulaney,” which had its episode order trimmed from 16 to 13, is just waiting for the exe to officially swing.

ABC, meanwhile, was at typical overnight household levels care of veteran “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (#3: 3.6/ 6), “Once Upon a Time” (#4: 4.3/ 6), “Resurrection” (#3: 3.2/ 5) and “Revenge” (#3: 3.8/ 6). While “Once Upon a Time” will resonate in the key young adult demos and “Revenge” remains an improvement over failed year-ago Sunday 10 p.m. time period occupant “Betrayal,” “Resurrection,” unfortunately, is unlikely to survive past this sophomore season. And if ABC does officially conclude it, let’s hope it does so by giving us answers to all the mysteries.

  1. Looks like this may finally be the week when Revenge beats Resurrection.
It's so sad to see Resurrection doing bad, but at the same time it does make Revenge look better since it is doing almost the same on the a less watched timeslot and with poorer lead in, so silverlinings, I guess

    ReplyDelete
  2. Crossing my fingers for revenge! Cause that was seriously a good episode

    ReplyDelete
  3. It's a good thing that *spoiler* (I don't want to spoil it for anybody that didn't watch it) was this week cause now with it having the OUAT lead in and what happened in the episode I expect it to get get a season high

    ReplyDelete
  4. I don't think though it really matters which of them does better in the long run because I think both shows won't see another season.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I expect somewhere around 1.6-1.7 for next week.
    I'm just an optimistic!

    ReplyDelete
  6. For revenge it still has a 50/50 chance of getting a short final season

    ReplyDelete
  7. Exactly; while Resurrections nears down to 0, Revenge is still holding on

    ReplyDelete
  8. definitely ouats lead in should help

    ReplyDelete
  9. Besides, "Smash the Mirror" is probably the most anticipated episode for the show this season since the premiere, so I expect OUAT to rate much higher than this week (which, to be honest, was lackluster)

    ReplyDelete
  10. I expected to enjoy ouat more then revenge this week. But boy did revenge prove me wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  11. and OUAT? I tink it will get season 5

    right?

    ReplyDelete
  12. OUAT is an obvious renewal

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well, Resurrection is facing the highest rated drama on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Resurrection premiered a 3.8 last when it was against TWD

    ReplyDelete
  15. didn't it face it last year?

    ReplyDelete
  16. hope the special gets high ratings but some people are complaining so I don't know if it will :(. This season is amazing to me I don'tknow why people complain. I hope you are right & it gets renewed anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  17. SGU (was Teen Wolfers)November 10, 2014 at 2:25 PM

That episode of OUAT was easily the best of the season so far for me, and one of the best in the show. I can't wait for 'Smash the Mirror' next week! Kinda hard to predict the ratings because of TWD

    ReplyDelete
  18. The declines were there even before it competed with TWD. It went from a 2.2 to a 1.8, so you could see where things were going.
Though TWD obviously doesn't help, I think Resurrection lost its audience for other reasons; besides, last spring it faced TWD and it still hung out to low 2s, even when it faced the 8.2 rating for TWD finale

    ReplyDelete
  19. Considering it is the most anticipated episode of the season I think it may be able to withstand TWD

    ReplyDelete
  20. OUAT is in no danger its abcs third highest drama. So it will definitely get renewed. It would need to get revenge or resurrections ratings to be in danger

    ReplyDelete
  21. It has its ups and downs, but OUAT has been mostly enjoyable for me this season. Not ground breaking, but steadily good and this is a show that can be really inconsistent, so I'm mostly happy that it has got on a good groove.
As for the ratings, this is such an obvious renewal! It's ABC only Sunday drama performing well, and it is well above the avarage of their scripted shows, both comedies and dramas, so not only season 5 is guarenteed, I'd even go as far as to suggest season 6

    ReplyDelete
  22. SGU (was Teen Wolfers)November 10, 2014 at 2:29 PM

If the first half doesn't live up to expectations people could switch over.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Same here; I think it has been the most pleased I have been with Revenge the whole season. It was electrifying!
OUAT... meh, it was ok, but it was subpar in comparison with some of its oustanding episodes this season

    ReplyDelete
  24. That's hardly ever the case for OUAT. Even when the episode is absolutely attrocious the half hours usually remain the same, so I don't think people will switch unless they wanted to watch TWD in the first place

    ReplyDelete
  25. and what do you think of Shield? I fear for it too & yet I need s3 so bad! It would be a shame to cancel,,, :'(

    ReplyDelete
  26. Frozen gave it a really good boost, but even without it OUAT should be able to hold on to at least low 2s; that's what it did last year and it was pretty much on par with the second half of season 2, so I don't really see OUAT going below, say, 1.8, and that's decent enough. The only time it went to a 1.7 it was Easter and then it bounced back right away

    ReplyDelete
  27. thanks. Read about s6 fears below if you want & tell me your opinion too :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. and Shield? I want s3 soooo bad but I fear it will get axed :(

    ReplyDelete
  29. thank you anyway

    ReplyDelete
  30. That highly depends on the success or failure of ABC's midseason dramas.

    ReplyDelete
  31. CSI : officially conclued on Springs ? hum no... CBS never had said CSI is cancelled... And the writers said on Twitter they are not cancelled...

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think Revenge would do much better as a summer show at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I love it too its definitely getting renewed unless it tanks or other mid season shows are huge success but its in a very horrible Tuesday slot with a bad lead I hope it changes in spring the alien arc, agent carter and AOU might be able to give it a certain boost in april-may fingers crossed.

    ReplyDelete
  34. That would be interesting to see; I'd be intrigued about a Revenge/Mistresses combo.
In fact, make it a Bachellorette/Revenge/Mistresses combo

    ReplyDelete
  35. No Top 25 numbers anymore?

    ReplyDelete
  36. The Walking Dead was weaker when Resurrection premiered. It had *just* a 6.3 that day when Resurrection pulled off a 3.8. It had an 8.7 when Resurrection was hit down to a 1.5 against the premiere. Their combined totals in 18-49 were 10.1 and 10.2. Resurrection would be down big either way, but a much bigger Dead is hurting

    ReplyDelete
  37. Agreed. I don't see them pushing American Crime to 10PM either, isnce they would give the higher lead-in to a new show than a show that's already on it's last legs.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Eh, Revenge didn't really benefit from Once's lead in last fall. It rated all over the place kind regardless of the Once lead in. Even Resurrection's big premiere (which had a 3.9 in the last half hour) only could get it to a 1.9. I think its audience is too locked in to see much benefit from airing at 9. Resurrection however has a lot to lose if they were to switch

    ReplyDelete
  39. He said if cancelled..

    ReplyDelete
  40. At the upfronts CBS said CSI would end early for CSI: Cyber. With Scorpion, NCIS: NO, Stalker, and Madam Secretary all getting full season pickups this is the only slot for it. CSI is actually airing an episode between Christmas and New Years

    ReplyDelete
  41. That might require some budget cuts (read as firing/demoting some regulars).

    ReplyDelete
  42. If “CSI” does officially conclude this spring...

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think season 4 might be assured on the fact that it would show some of the fallout from Captain America: Civil War.

    ReplyDelete
  44. OUAT was weaker last yea

    ReplyDelete
  45. This episode was soooooo good I still not get over Snow Queen's back story. Also love scenes between Snow Queen and Emma, great actings by those two beauties!!!!!!! Can't wait for the next week, I hope its rating could go up because it deserves!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I hope ABC will make a lot of promoting.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Have not watched revenge and OUAT yet. How were the episodes

    ReplyDelete
  48. Revenge literally just had one of its best episodes yet. As for OUAT it was still good

    ReplyDelete
  49. anyone else think out of all the networks ABC shows have the most commercials?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Ya so annoying its like there's 4 minutes of show and like 10 minutes of commercials

    ReplyDelete
  51. OUAT was great and Revenge was a combo (as usual) of great and heart-strings tugging.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Cannot wait to watch. I saw revenge got a 9.4/10 on imdb that is really high

    ReplyDelete
  53. please no adjusted down for Revenge i would be happier to go up

    ReplyDelete
  54. Yay revenge is up and it beat ressurection

    ReplyDelete
  55. I hope Once is adjusted up this week too.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Still excellent for OUAT.

Wow at perfect retention between MS and TGW.

    Poor Resurrection is so done.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Really? Where did you See tgat. I only see resurrection 1.2 and OUAT 2.5

    ReplyDelete
  58. Great :) where did you See it? Or is my table just nor working correctly

    ReplyDelete
  59. try pressing CTRL-F5 to force a re-fresh

    ReplyDelete
  60. MS and TGW seem to be a perfect pair.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Is it just me or does everyone else only see OUAT ans resurrection's ratings in the table?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Sad B99 is so low, but happy for Revenge!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Revenge beat Resurrection!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Party!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. OUAT is a two hour event next sunday , No Ressurection

    ReplyDelete
  66. Revenge beats resurrection yaaaay wonder what will be going on on TVBTN. That will be a war lol am so happy I am here!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Thinking the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  68. The demo still seem low to me. I hope it adjusts up.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I can finally see the table and woa revenge great! It is back over 5 million and 1.3 am really happy right now :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. I hoped B99 would retain more of The Simpsons demo, but that's still ok.
OUAT steady and Revenge up! That's good.
    Sadly, Resurrection is dead

    ReplyDelete
  71. I will read it tonight. It should be interesting. Just reading the comments make me laugh

    ReplyDelete
  72. Revenge even Rose in viewers after resurrection :) was the episode really that good?

    ReplyDelete
  73. 18-34 ratings per showbuzz daily:
    ABC
    OUAT: 1.9
    Resurrection: 0.8
    Revenge: 1.0

    FOX:
    Simpsons: 2.7
    B99: 1.6
    Family Guy: 1.6
    Mulaney:0.6

    CBS:
    Madam Secretary: 0.5
    The Good Wife: 0.6
    CSI: 0.7

    NBC:
    Football: 5.3

Revenge surged 3 tenths on adults 18-34 from last week's 0.7, pulling a decent 1.0.
Even though CSI was the lowest rated of the CBS bunch on 18-34, somehow it managed to skew younger than TGW and MS

    ReplyDelete
  74. It was incredible

    ReplyDelete
  75. Omg cannot wait

    ReplyDelete
  76. No doubt about that, but I'd liked to see it higher.

    ReplyDelete
  77. 1.8 for less than 4M is amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  78. It was so good. It's so far my favorite episode of the season

    ReplyDelete
  79. Wow so much good stuff in one day. I will enjoy my evening a lot tonight :)

    ReplyDelete
  80. Revenge building on its lead in is amazing

    ReplyDelete
  81. Seems like Revenge did relatively well. B99 on the other hand lost a ton of it's probably-inflated leadin.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Every FOX comedy does. If only the ones I watch could be like that and get 4.0s out of 7 mil.

    ReplyDelete
  83. The question then is: what show to ruin next, POI or Elemenary ?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Revenge... 1.3? :D I say yes!
I'm glad haven't (fully) given up on the show. I'm definitely not after last night's episode.

    ReplyDelete
  85. So Cyberwontair Wednesday as scheduled? Just occurred to me that upfront a didn't indicate Stalker getting a full season. Or do I remember wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  86. also it built up on its lead in

    ReplyDelete
  87. Is Revenge getting back on track. The good reviews and backfeed are giving it a boost. Thing could quickly change for the show.

    ReplyDelete
  88. How can he not label Simpsons as a winner? Highest rated scripted show of the night! And there was no overrun for football on Fox last night. Every game that was scheduled to end at 7:30 was over minutes before that.

    ReplyDelete
  89. So low? It was two tenths below 2.0 going up against the first half hour of the Packers/Bears game. It's a pretty solid rating.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Stalker got a full season order for some reason. It would have been a perfect spot for Cyber, but oh well

    ReplyDelete
  91. As he doesn't have access to demos when he writes this stuff, he could only write based on the early HH ratings. Still, it was worthy of being mentioned

    ReplyDelete
  92. You're right that deserved a mention it was 1.4 points higher then anything else on Fox and everything on ABC. I wonder if it got a bump from Futurama fans?

    ReplyDelete
  93. Wow The Simpsons is 26 years old and STILL pulling in high ratings

    ReplyDelete
  94. yaaay, Revenge is up! Hope it does not adjust down.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Daniel and emily reunited!!!! I Almost cried. Revenge should be getting a big boost in ratings next week

    ReplyDelete
  96. Also, if Revenge keeps its ratings, it will still be so much better at 10 than other shows were doing in the timeslot. Not a good idea to risk it and tank two shows instead of just one.

I don't know their game plan for next year, but for now ABC seems to have solved a few problematic death slots (Thurs at 8, Suns at 10) and also found a comedy compatible with Modern Family.

    ReplyDelete
  97. OUAT was weaker, but also: 9pm is crazy competitive and a lot of people gave up on the show.

    ReplyDelete
  98. In the past years, whenever CBS cut the episode order for veteran dramas... it meant cancellation in the spring. So yeah, that's a red flag. But maybe CSI beats the odds? [I don't think it will, though]

    ReplyDelete
  99. Do you have half hours?
