  1. This was the hardest poll of the season to make, there are a ton of scenes I have to leave out in order to keep it to only 15 choices in the poll :( I picked the final hug as Clara and the Doctor lied to each other again, the salute to the Brig, Missy's revealing to the Doctor that she was the woman in the shop, Clara in the cemetery as the Cybermen woke up (Murray Gold's music here was amazing!) and finally the Doctor's reaction to seeing Gallifrey not being where Missy said it was - Capaldi knocked the ball out of the park in that silent scene!

  2. I went with : the hug, the Brigadier, Missy lying about Gallifrey and telling the Doctor she gave Cara the number and the Doctor being told he's President of the Earth.

I think one scene is missing though, and that would be when Danny sacrifices himself a second time by letting the little boy he killed coming back to life instead of him. Ever since Danny met the boy, hell, since he pulled the trigger, he wanted to make things right and I think this was one of the most heartbreaking scenes of the episode, if not the series.

  3. There's so many scenes that I wanted to add, but I'm only allowed to have 15 choices max, so it was really hard to pick which ones to keep and which to omit. There's also Danny taking his mask off and revealing himself to Clara, or the Doctor free falling James Bond style to the TARDIS missing, for example. That's why there's the 'Others' option though so anyone can add in their own.

That was lovely scene wasn't it, and something that has defined Danny as a person throughout the season.

  4. My bad, I didn't see the "Others" option, sorry ! And I understand how uneasy it must have been to pick only 15 scenes... you did a good job though, all the important ones are here :) (and for the people who never have enough like me, there are the comments :D)

  5. No worries :) Even Flatline and Listen polls weren't this hard to make, there were a lot of scenes in this episode compared to most of the rest of the season, lol. It doesn't help when you have 4 leads spread out in different places for half of it, all of them turning in performances of the season XD

  6. There is no way Jenna is leaving at Christmas. Maybe I am in denial but I feel like there is still a lot to see from the character and the actress and now that her love story with Danny is over I feel like the biggest obstacle to her traveling with the Doctor is gone. I also want her to have a happy ending and while I don't particularly think a man is necessary for that to be possible I think a more fulfilling life than just her work. Again Danny's death opened a whole new world of possibilities for Clara and I doubt her storyline can be resolved over Christmas mainly because Christmas episodes rarely give characters a lot of development.
I also hope we see Missy again maybe not next season but definitely in the future. I just feel like Michelle stole the show this episode and that is a hard thing to do considering how amazing Peter, Jenna and Samuel were in this episode.

  7. Clara and the Doctor hug after lying to each other about being happy.
ha, because I get the sad joke.

  8. I'm sure she'll get a happy ending eventually. There's one thing people seem to forget about Danny dying and that is Orson, whom we saw in Listen.

He is heavily implied to be Clara and Danny's (great?) grandson so for that to happen Clara must eventually have Danny's child.

This means either Danny will come back or Clara is already pregnant.

  9. This is hard. ><
Gomez was truly exceptionnal too. Between her singing, dancing and landing Mary Poppins style...
Basically, every Danny scene. Clara lying about being the Doctor. Every Clara scenes too, actually.

Twelfth figuring out he is an idiot.
And of course, the end of the episode, my favourite. The coffee talk, The doc not finding Galifrey, and lying to Clara. Clara trying to tell him, and him not letting her talk.
I can't even imagine how hard it must have been for Clara, hearing him talk about She and Danny being together, being happy. Just how much she must have wanted to tell him to shut up, just to stop talking. But she let it go because he found Galifrey.
And all of that followed by one of the most painful hug I have ever seen. The Doctor saying why he doesn't like hugs, and Clara's face... Dear god...

This episode turn me into a chimical mess, as the doctor would say.
At the end I kept saying to myself danny coudn't be dead again and again. My poor Clara...

And when I thought it was it, there is this scene, This voice poping into the Tardis. I swear I thought I heard Danny's. The next thing I saw was Santa Claus. My face was probably the same as Capaldi's. >< My eyes popping out.

  10. So agree with you about silence being more powerful and horrifying than a scream, that was a wonderful scene from Capaldi and I'm glad it was allowed to play out like that. An actor with his abilities doesn't need words to convey every single heart breaking thought that went through his characters head in those few minutes.

  11. So much anger, or rather so much pain... The moment that hurt me the most, even more than him hitting the Tardis with all his might was seeing him slump into the console. So small and so hopeless.

It got me thinking, maybe Missy didn't lie and Galifrey is indeed right were it always were but in a other dimension, universe or a pocket universe even. The doctor himself said it was in a other dimension. But maybe the Tardis would have detect it, then...

  12. Yes pain definitely, deep pain at knowing he was still alone and she had gone and couldn't provide any more clues. But I think some anger too at letting himself dare to believe her perhaps?

I did wonder if maybe all he had to do was turn those safety protocols off...

  13. Yeah, you're right, he must have been so, so mad at himself for believing her. But then, when we stop being angry and pain is the only thing left. A wrenching and horrifying pain. Tearing us apart.
