So did Carol get 'hit' by the car in the end by accident or did she run out on purpose ( doing what needed to be done ) and got 'hit' so Daryl .... and .... Noah would end up being safe and free to rescue them both ?
A pretty good episode (much better than the last two), but it just reminded me of how much I still missed Andrea/Laurie Holden. 4 THE DEAD TO STAY WALKING, I am Nobody!!!
loved it! soo much great Carol backfills and background and loved all the symbolism of the fires/smoke/ashes that Carol kept noting as burning off the bad things that have happened to her (and everyone else) and moving forward as a changed person... great Carol/Daryl moments and like that they've hooked up with Noah (solving the mystery of who was with Daryl at the church) and will go back to save Beth and Carol.... love that they will be back in an urban environment, but it somehow doesn't seem to make a ton of sense as to why that other group would set up shop in the middle of the city when it certainly seemed like a dangerous death trap to avoid in S1... this should be a lot of fun and I wonder if we will lose anyone/gain any newbies to the family.....
Awesome episode! Anything with Carol and Daryl is awesome anyway.
I'm scared the writers are gonna kill Carol, too much focus on her, and a lot of people are betting on her to die next. Her death would have a huge impact, as she's been here since season 1. And it would greatly affect Daryl and that could make a good storyline for him. But I really hope I'm wrong!
Yes Nicola I'm getting a troubling vibe about that too, though a lot of folks are convinced it's never gonna happen this season (and I hope they're right!). It just seems like the focus on all the different skins she's had to shed, plus her general exhaustion of hope, points to something heart-wrenching in the works. It would be a gutsy yet powerful move, for all the reasons you mention. Yet MM is such a stellar actress and I love her character -- fingers crossed, like you, that it doesn't go in this direction!
I thought this was an alright episode. It didn't "WOW" me, but it was fun watching them work together again. I guess I didn't grasp all the symbolism that others did, so there were times I felt the episode dragged on. I found Noah's introduction to be interesting. That it started out with him stealing their weapons, but in the end they saved him and that was before they knew about Beth.
So Carol getting hit by the car was an accident? I guess it could be. Maybe she had planned to get hit by the car, but just not that hard. Because she seemed to look back once or twice when the guys were fighting off walkers, like she was trying to decide whether to go with her idea or not. Then she did. Either way, I wasn't really expecting that. We know that Carol gets in to the hospital, but I always thought that Noah would tell them that the guards pick people that seemingly appear weak/don't fight back and so Carol would pretend to be one of those people. And given her sprained shoulder/collarbone, that wouldn't have been too hard.
This was a fantastic episode. Some intense moments mixed in with some wonderfully played character moments and revelations. It's quite easy to see why Carol and Daryl receive so much love and adoration; their relationship, who they re to each other, was highlighted so beautifully. We got into the headspaces of both, saw how they've changed in the time they've been apart, without losing the feeling of connection and love between them. Melissa and Norman killed it in this episode.
Awesome episode! I watch TWD for the character moments and they were plentiful in the episode! So much Carol and Daryl goodness I cannot begin to cover it all!
One thing of note stood out to me though.. God damn does Noah have a big frickin' head! his skull is huuuge! Seeing him standing next to Daryl was almost comical it was so big. How does its stay on the skinny little frame of his? XD
I've been a bit worried myself!! It feels like a very TWD thing to do to have Carol return in a redemption arc only to be killed after. Doesn't help that she is seeming a bit fragile and at the end of her rope at times...
this show is just too Awesome for words! and love seeing Daryl and Carol together there just so great together and too care about Beth like that too find it just soo cool. I kind of did not want Daryl too hurt Noah because Beth tried so hard too save him.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Epic !!!!
ReplyDeleteAnother awesome episode but I'm so glad that Rick the God will be back to save his people in the next episode.
ReplyDeleteIt played out like I expected. Beth will save Carol.
I friggin LOVE this show!
ReplyDeleteAmazing!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis was an episode featuring two of my favorite characters so of course I voted awesome. I truly don't know what will happen next so I am excited.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! So glad it was amazing because I really didn't like the last 2 episodes. Plus the next episode lopoks great too!
ReplyDeleteCarol is my favorite character and Melissa is such a fantasic actress. Great seeing her and Daryl together again.

ReplyDeleteAnother good episode. The Walking Dead is on fire this season.
ReplyDeleteby accident

Ugh. I agree. I think Carol will die during the rescue mission--most likely sacrificing herself for her younger ally, beth.

I liked the use of fire a lot too!
ReplyDeleteSo many levels of symbolism...
It can be such a destructive force, but it is also a very traditional element that brings new life after it destroys.
It can also temper material to make it harder, stronger.
I thought they hit her on purpose...
ReplyDeleteIt looked to me like they sped up to hit Carol.
I do not think it was part of her plan though. She just walked out in the street and WHAM!
