    I was very disappointed in this episode. I was very excited about it and was hoping to LMAO. But it just dragged. There were only a few lines I liked. "Well I never, how dare you! I'm going!" Dean: "First of all who talks like that." Sam: "We're not the bad guys Dash!" Dash: "I beg to differ, you're wearing flannel." Dash while holding gun: "Don't even think about it.....I hunt pheasant." (Dean rolls his eyes) "I'm not the maid." "That explains the dust."

    I really enjoyed very much this episode! I missed the old SPN monsters, the music of this episode was so trolling and that extra shots of Dean was very creepy!

    Wow.. that... was horrible...Bad acting, bad plot, bad everything. At this rate I will be hard pressed to even watch much longer. Gone is the suspense, gone is the gore, gone is everything that makes this show good. The Producers have killed this show. Suddenly they seem to think Supernatural is a comedy? And a bad one at that.

    This episode wasn't funny, it was ridiculous. I don't like stupid or silly episodes and this was both.

    agreed, definitely since season 7.


    the past 3/4 seasons have really ruined the show i used to love. its a bummer the ratings have only gone up and up because its probably telling the writers to keep doing the comedy/meta nonsense

    No I hung in there until season 8. I still watched... had faith they could get it back on track.. Refused to give up last season but I did stop buying the DVD. Had hopes again this season but now I struggle to figure out why I should even watch anymore.

    I actually thought this one was a good idea. I have to admit it was lacking something in the execution. Could have been more clever or more original with stronger writing.

    uhhh, every season since season 1 has had at least one comedy and/or meta episode, this one being more like the ones in the earlier seasons. Obviously, you've just come across Supernatural

    Uhhhh I've been on board since day one, never missed an episode and own 8 seasons on DVD. Every season has one not 3 in a row. Every season has maybe one not so good episode too. NOT 5 in a row. There hasn't been one episode this season worthy of the show.

    you're right, the early seasons have one...but there are multiple per season in the later seasons. and even so, it isn't as simple as a quantitative analysis. it's also the tone, the soundtrack, even something like lightening (the earlier seasons are literally darker). its much more upbeat and comedic rather than dark and scary.

    Really enjoyed this episode, so much fun. I loved all the jokes, especially the Clue references. Did they get all the weapons? Lead Pipe, Rope, Wrench, Candlestick, Revolver...is there one missing? Dagger?

    Lots of fun and then the ending with Dean making his first post Demon kill...wow

    Season 7 is generous. I'd say since season 3. This episode reminded me a lot of season 3 - actually I preferred this to the season 3 attempt (Red Sky at Morning) because the show did a terrible job with Bela.

    It's mostly just the show is very comfortable with cliches (like the older women). I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

    Kripke began pushing the "comedy" in season 3 (which he did a terrible job with) and the angst became overly dour and miserable. He lost any ability to control the narrative or pace of the show. And as time has passed the show has lost spark so just seems a little TV-safe-ish and formulaic.


    That's my biggest complaint this season, as I thought last season snapped this out of this somewhat and felt a little more authentic.


    Still, I enjoyed this episode.

    I enjoyed the episode. Frankly, this and Reichenbach were the two episodes this season I probably enjoyed watching throughout.


    The writing was cheesy and cliched (cougars for Sam, bad gay jokes), but the show did a good job casting the guest roles, especially the aunt with the shorter hair. The characters made me laugh and I was actually pleased that most of them lived.


    I liked the way they worked Bobby into the story, and not the awful Saint Bobby, but a Bobby who tried his best but made some questionable calls.


    I liked the juxtaposition of Dean wandering around in darkness with Sam trying to deal with the people around him.


    Sam having to deal with the annoying cougars provided for some good comedy. Jared made me laugh several times.


    The scene of Dean gunning the shifter down bothered me a little (I'm tired of women getting this type of excessive treatment), but I'm glad to see his story moving forward.

    This felt like Scooby Doo meets Supernatural, and I loved it. Not a ground-breaking episode, but a lot of fun. Ridiculous characters, some surprisingly funny lines, and ALL THE CLUE WEAPONS. Even the background music was corny, in a good way.


    Did I mention ALL THE CLUE WEAPONS?? I don't think I've ever yelled "The lead pipe! THE LEAD PIPE!!!!" at the TV before.

    The only important things in the episode arc wise was Sam telling Olivia that being a monster is a choice, something that he never seemed to openly accept when anyone ever challenged him on his actions before and Dean going overkill.


    But as fillers go it was an okay one, better than a lot of the others they've had over the past couple of seasons.

    Agree that the humor became a big part of the show in season 3. What I was thinking was that up until the leviathans became ridiculous, the show mixed truly scary, or the least, a sense of gravitas, with the funny episodes. I thought what Bec666 was getting at is that the humor is applied to everything now.

    It's not often on this show that I'm surprised by the plot, but the reveal that it was a shifter did honestly surprise me. Didn't see that coming, but I loved it. I'm all for getting back to some old school monster hunts.


    I thought it was really enjoyable for what it was... an homage to Clue (love that movie!). Yeah it was cheesy and over the top in parts, but that just made it that much more fun to me. And they did a great job with casting the guest roles - I especially love Gillian Vigman.


    I'm glad they touched upon the MoC there at the end. Dean is obviously scared and in denial, and wishing things could just get back to normal again. I wonder if in the back of his mind he knew this would happen if he killed because I just can't believe he would go into the situation without at least 1 gun on him. The only way that makes sense is if he was trying to avoid killing if at all possible. Well, I think it's only going to get worse for Dean the more he kills (and probably the more he will try not to talk to Sam about it & deny it). Ah boys.

    I enjoyed it and didn't think there was really anything wrong with it. My comment was that it could been stronger. It's an episode that I enjoyed but probably won't remember in a week because there were no standout moments.

    Didn't convince me at all, though I thought this would be a good one, judging from previews.

    Oh, uh, the MoC returns, kinda. Please don't make a dumb "goto Season 9" thing and put the MoC plot on repeat, ok? I thought it lacked substance the 1st time, though it was mostly ok.Hope they have ideas to keep it fresh, especially without a myth arc

    I think the show still takes some things very seriously - last season was often very dark and serious in tone, especially Dean's story. This season has been more humorous, with mixed results. I mostly think the show has a certain artificial veneer this season that I wish they could break away.

    Really enjoyed the episode. A fun hour of TV and great to have a good ole monster ep. Nice to still see the boys on the road, saving people, hunting things....and then the lead in at the end to Dean's upcoming MOC problem. He's not ready to admit it's speaking to him, already slamming down his shields to deny what he knows deep down. Deny deny deny....denial ain't gonna help ya Dean!

    I loved it!!The start with all the flashbacks!! :D <3 For once we got a story about something else other than demon Dean, the mark of Cain and Castiel & Heaven...



    One thing though... Where was the samulet?? That was such a special moment at the end of the last episode and then it's gone?!

    I feel like 10.05 Ask Jeeves didn’t give a lot to work with. The music was a little distracting at times.

    I think they should’ve probably kept the tone light throughout the whole episode. Now the mark of Cain bit was a little tacked on because it didn’t truly offer new insight into Dean. Dean’s reaction to killing was predictable. Sam’s speech to the monster seemed like it was recycled material. 4.04 Metamorphosis did it better.

    I think this episode would have benefited a lot if they had let J2 work their magic and ended the episode with a nice moment between the brothers.
