I like it better when the CIA agent is a bipolar sex addict that can swear like a sailor when the circumstances require!!! Doubt I will be back next week....
<<<''' <<< I just got paid $7500 working off my computer this month. And if you think that's cool, my friend has twin toddlers and made over $8k her first month. It feels so good making so much money when other people have to work for so much less. This is what I do,
I wish we saw more of Alfree Woodard, David Harbour, and James Remar, instead of Heigl and her team of briefers. Those three are by far the best actors on the series!
Despite trying so hard to make comparisons between The Blacklist and this series, even going so far as to use the same voice over artist, this show has so little in common with the Blacklist it's comical. Most notably a lead actor who has depth.
The pace was okay considering pilots need to cover a lot of material, but it felt a bit middle of the road to me. Highlight of the episode was James Remar! The serial mystery was established nicely and left me wanting more... but maybe not from Katherine Heigl.
Overall it gets a C+ from me and I rated it "Good" since it has some potential. I will try another episode or two, but Heigl's performance has to improve dramatically for me to keep watching.
People need to Grow a pair and just forget about heigl's past. She has a New show and i really liked it! I don't get all the hatred towards the show just be cause of heigl. Ridiciolous
I don't get your comment. Why would anyone watch a show when they dislike the LEAD actress? That would be akin to hate watching the show, which is silly imo (unless its a SYFY channel show, then its just fun).
The show was good and Heigl proved that she's more than just a pretty face. Let's see how the storyline develops because there is a lot of potential.
I just really hope that they give is more than just a handful of scenes with Alfre Woodard. She really elevated the episode last night in every scene she was in.
It was sort of like 24 only reversed, instead of focusing on field agents with the occasional government scenes this was focusing on the government with the occasional field agent scenes.
Not liking a series because the lead cannot carry the show is perfectly acceptable in my opinion. Not ridiculous at all.
I was never a fan of Grey's so I cannot judge her work on there, but I enjoyed some of Heigl's earlier films. However, in this role she is just flat and not very believable to me. It seems like the role requires a more nuanced and layered performance to be successful.
Maybe she will grow into the role or the creative team will shift whenever possible to the more capable actors... Whatever the case, if her performance does not improve I don't see the series getting renewed. So why watch a show where the lead actually brings the show down? *Shrug*
Completely agree. I'm not familiar with her Grey's work either, but I was a Roswell fan back in the day and considered her the worst part of the show, and I have also had exposure through seeing her Rom-Coms with various girlfriends over the years. I would be willing to guess a lot of folks have had a similar level of exposure to her, so it's not like we're hating the show just for the sake of hating her. I actually thought the show was OK and could see some potential, but I believe she just fits the role so poorly it will only drag it down.
And second your comment above of James Remar and Alfre Woodard. The 2 best parts of the show imo.
Like I said, it was pretty meh. Some scenes felt really forced and unbelievable. Some of the dialogues were really corny and excessive use of acronyms was really off-putting.
I love anything Alfre Woodard appears in but I can't stand Heigl chick.. so i'm gonna have to pass....really wish she wasn't in it.. otherwise I'd watch...
everytime I see her .. all I can see is that scene in Star Trek....First Contact where she was yelling at Patrick S. to blow up the damned ship...... lol
One of the problems of this show is Heigl. Not because she is good or bad in the role (personally, I'd go for pretty fucking awful, but that's truly beside the point), but because she polarizes opinions. Reading the comments is enough to notice that: people either idolize or hate her. Having a lead who brings about such strong reactions from people is not ideal, IMO. You will have a faithful audience, but bringing other viewers in will be close to impossible.
i think that one of the problems of this show is katherine heigl performance. Cause let's be honest , it wasn't convincing. I loved kat so much in Grey's anatomy and she played the Danny storyline really well , she is good to play the heartbroken girl but to play a twisted ,determinate , strong , and complex woman , not so much. She is not convincing in her posture , her voice or her look. I think that Sarah michelle gellar would have been perfect for this role , she has this cold eyes ,this strong ,cold ,withdrawn ,also twisted attitude & that , make her believable in her play. (Buffy or Ringer) Even Maggie Q (Nikita) would have been good for this role. So, pretty dissapointed for this come back of kat.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI thought it was really good!! I loved it
ReplyDeleteIt was better than expected. Katherine did quite a note-worthy work there, really surprised.

Start working at home with Google! It’s by-far the best job I’ve had. Last Thursday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474 this - 4 weeks past. I began this 8-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $77 per hour. I work through this link, go? to tech tab for work detail,,,,,,,

This was a lot better than I expected too. I will definitely tune in next week.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that. I'll be watching it tomorrow. I hope the ratings are good!

Ha!! XD
ReplyDeleteA Heigl fan on Twitter said "I forgot what was happening on #StateofAffairs but I don't think it matters" LOL
ReplyDeleteI don't think I see anything I have seen before in this show, but I might check back end of season, if it gets renewed for a second season.
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe we lost The Blacklist early for that. February 1st can't come soon enough.
ReplyDeletePeople need to Grow a pair and just forget about heigl's past. She has a New show and i really liked it! I don't get all the hatred towards the show just be cause of heigl. Ridiciolous
ReplyDeleteNot bad, not good, so OK. Would have more potential imo if the lead actress was even semi believable as a CIA agent.
ReplyDeleteI don't get your comment. Why would anyone watch a show when they dislike the LEAD actress? That would be akin to hate watching the show, which is silly imo (unless its a SYFY channel show, then its just fun).
ReplyDeleteI agree. The show itself was good, but honestly would have been better with a different actress playing Heigl's part.
ReplyDeleteAlso of the show had more of Alfre Woodard it would have gone from just good/ok to GREAT/AMAZING. Alfre was awesome and we needed more of her.
Agreed this show was no Blacklist or even Scandal.
ReplyDeleteI would rank this show as #3 for new network dramas.
ReplyDeleteIt's no where near as good as HTGAWM or Gotham, but the quality was a little better than Scorpion and Stalker.
I am worried for Allegiance and Odyssey though if this really was NBC's strongest new drama because it honestly wasn't that strong.

Meh. I was expecting something good, but this....maybe it will improve in the weeks ahead, but the pilot was really a bummer.

ReplyDeleteI totally forgot she was on Roswell - THAT was how much I disliked her on there! XD
ReplyDeleteI will give it another episode or two since I'm a sucker for espionage and inside politics shows. Maybe Heigl will grow into the role? Quickly? XD
I love anything Alfre Woodard appears in but I can't stand Heigl chick.. so i'm gonna have to pass....really wish she wasn't in it.. otherwise I'd watch...

ReplyDeleteI'll stick with it for now, but I think it might be a little too lightweight in tone for the subject matter it's dealing with.
