To be fair, the show started losing its way when it decided to change from a cool revenge story to a soapy drama. I loved the premise of the first season, it's subsequent ones not so much.
So David still hasn't figured out Emily is his daughter? I have up on the show after last season's finale, but I'm waiting for the episode where he finally pulls his head out of his a** and sees the truth. I'll watch that.
I dont agree that David is dumb. He lied to the world about being held captive by Conrad, so it is possible that he is playing a long game with Victoria to make 100% sure that she betrayed him, he was in love with her after all. From his perspective, it made sense to not trust Nolan, his "daughter" is dead and it looks like she only got 100k.
I was ready to start ranting about David's attack on Nolan and then I realized that Victoria didn't report Nolan's sins to him he came to his conclusions through his own research. Points going to Nolan for, rightly, laying the blame for that at Emily's feet. That said I am never happy when they hurt Nolan. Glad that Charlotte is gone for a while and that she had the good sense to recognize the truth with regard to her mother being a murderer. But it's not good that she's letting her mother continue to hurt her father.
OK episode. I think that next week should be interesting! Just once, I wish that Emily would put Nolan's needs ahead of her agenda. David could end up destroying Nolan because he thinks that he stole from Amanda. Also, if David were smart enough, wouldn't he be able to trace all of the deeds to Emily?
Charlotte usually annoys be, but she was the best part of this episode. Between managing to overpower her captor, finally trusting Emily (sort of), deciding to check herself into therapy, telling off Victoria and finally telling Daniel the truth about Victoria, I can't decide which Charlotte scene I liked the most. Usually I keep wishing that she'd go away, but now I want her to come back!
I really don't see the point of that side story with Victoria's stalker. All it serves to do is highlight Daniel's stupidity, which we are already well-aware of. She takes up way too much screen time. Speaking of which...I'm really happy that someone finally told Daniel about Emily being Amanda, even though it happened off-screen. It's hard to tell how he'll react to this, because the writers have been extremely inconsistent with his character...he's basically just turned into a plot device for the writers. I heard that the actor wants to leave the show and I can't say that I blame him. His character has really deteriorated.
They've got to get back to the weekly revenge thing. The whole David-Amanda reveal is being drawn out too much! I wonder where they're going with David's backstory the last 10 years. Hope it's not some Initiative-type group again.
Of all people to win character of the hour, the trophy goes to Charlotte, lest favorite goes to David, I really hope he's playing mind games with Victoria I hate that he's blaming Nolan for what could have happened to Amanda, Emily needs to woman up and straighten this mess out before David hurts Nolan, with his misguided Revenge!!!
People, if David hasn't told Victoria what REALLY happened to him during those 10 years, he definitely doesn't trust her. He's probably just playing her.
I wonder what's in that note that Emily left in Charlotte's bag....And hell! Is Emily implying that David actually might be guilty of the downing of Flight 197?! HOW COME? I mean -- many times we've heard conversations between Conrad and Victoria, as vague as they are...that point to a different thing...Season 2 I think has the most proof with the whole Initiative storyline coming into play. Either writers will really start to contradict themselves and want to totally rewrite the story or I didn't get the twist....Anyone wanna weigh in on that? What's your impression, guys?
Awesome episode!!!!! And next week is the episode soooo many people wanted. Ratings should rise next week. I really thought charlotte would die but i guess she did not
Emily will not confess her real identity nor will her father recognize her own daughter,it's just a card the show-runners are using since episode 4 but by now everyone knows the real reveal won't happen until the final moments of episode 10 and it will serve as the mid-season cliffhanger.Mark my words on this.On the bright side, daniel finally knows emily is amanda. Now,that's an interesting development, not this father-daughter melodramatic nonsense they are trying to shove down our throat!
In all fairness, Amanda did her switcheroo with the real Emily Thorne almost too well. For all that David knows, the girl lying six feet under was Amanda Clarke and had an extremely hard life.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This show is losing its way
ReplyDeleteNow I see why ratings are down

ReplyDeletedumbest character goes to....DAVID!
ReplyDeleteWell,at least Charlotte is seemingly gone for good.
ReplyDeleteWhat a JERK!!!
ReplyDeleteSo David still hasn't figured out Emily is his daughter?

I agree. I still think the show would have been better off as an one-season series.

ReplyDeleteI am actually really liking this season, its a lot more focused than some of the previous ones.

I hope Charlotte come back stronger than ever and save the day.

ReplyDeleteThe only reason I am still watching the show is Nolan. If they continue to let him be abused by everyone, including Emily, I'm gone.
ReplyDeleteDavid attacking Nolan like that in front of live audience was not cool at all, felt so sorry for Nolan. He's such a loyal friend for Emily.
ReplyDeleteI hope this is the beginning of Charlotte getting better. I love it when she was in trouble, the first person she called is her sister...so sweet :)
