I think this episode was the best this series has ever aired. The sub-plots were firing on all cylinders with it all coming to the climatic ending. To write anymore about it would turn into a novel. I can't believe this is the last season for Newsroom. If "Run" is any indication, this show has much more to give in terms of the characters' development and storylines. Maybe the intention is for the show to go out on top with the viewers wanting more.
Going into season 3, I had 1 hope.... that the show would go back to its season 1 premise of covering a big story each ep. Season 2 was a trainwreck with the fake Genoa story dragging thru the entire season, and I didn't want something like that again. I hoped & prayed season 3 would get back to the real event specific episodes. Boston did that, but slid in a bit of a story arc with it, and I liked it. This episode was FULL ON story arc, between Neals troubles, the hostile take over and a few other smaller aspects. No actual news stories were covered in it.... and I still LOVED it. I am once again excited for this season.... even with a fake story arc clearly being front & centre of it. I thought season 1 of The Newsroom was 1 of the 10 best seasons of any show ever, then season 2 was 1 of the largest disappointments of a show ever. At least this final season looks like its going to go out back on top. Amazing job so far.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
