So it was Wes. Damn, I knew that nice guy persona was hiding something sinister. Still want to know who actually did Lila (probably Sam but that seems too easy).
I guessed it right.I knew for certain wes will land the death stroke in defense of rebekah.Bonnie wasn't wasn't even on my suspect list. The ending shocked me-i never thought annalise found out about her husband and went along as if she didn't knew anything! Excellent mid-season finale!
Well I think I was pretty close I knew there was a struggle between Sam and the students which is why their DNA was on Sam's body which is why Conner, laurel and michala decided to help Wes instead of just going to the police I thought he fell down the stairs and Rebecca finished him off with the trophy.
Damn. Wes killed Sam to protect his lady love. How poetic... So Annalise showed up when Wes came back. Damn I dosn see that one coming. Dear Lord, how will we survive till Jan?!
I was expecting more from this episode. After the great opening scene, the show went downhill and was boring. Viola is carrying this show on her performance because everything else is mediocre - writing, supporting cast (except Connor), editing, etc.
Wow, wow, or in the words of Michala, Oh, my God, Oh my God, this Winter finale was simply Awesome, the way things unfolded kept me on the edge of my seat, Thank God for the Holidays to keep me occupied otherwise 1/29/15 is going to be MURDER!!!!!
Well I guess it's suppose to be I just thought about the things they said after the murder and getting to know the relationship between the students and Rebecca why they were there
This show has produced some of the most stellar episodes I have ever seen on television. What a magnificent 9 episodes and crazy ride this has been so far!
The way all the crazy storylines finally came together on the night of Sam's murder was perfect. My jaw dropped when Wes was the one that ended his life. That kid will do anything to protect Rebecca in any way that he can.
The beginning scene where Annalise and Sam were having their huge fight was hands down the most stressful scene the show has ever done. Holy hell, I was on the edge of my seat and my mind was racing as that scene was playing. Freaking intense.
And that final scene!! Another jaw dropping moment and arguably the most twisted reveal on the show far. So the entire plan of getting rid of Sam's body and all the evidence came from the one and only, Annalise. She was the master mind all along and acted like nothing had ever happened the next day. Both the very heart-wrenching voicemail she left for Sam about wanting to make things better between them and the heartfelt call to Bonnie was all planned. THIS. FREAKING. SHOW. Brilliant! And now Annalise and Wes are working together. Her giving that glare to Wes the next morning was so freaking great.
I was pretty surprised we didn't find out who killed Lila in this episode (Sam is way too obvious). Really looking forward to finding out the truth in the second half of the season! January 29th can't come soon enough.
Sigh. That was disappointing. The show is called How to Get Away with MURDER. Killing Sam to save Rebecca isn't really murder, it would probably only be manslaughter. Regardless, I thought the show was building up to how to plan, execute, and cover-up the perfect murder. The show should've been called How to Get Rid of a Dead Body.
Wes didn't do it! The wife did that's why they flashed back to show her sitting there when he came back to get the trophie! He remembered it wasn't as much blood when he hit the guy, when they ran out the wife came back and for some reason she finished him off. They made some kind of deal, which they'll show us when the show returns.
First Michaela being the one that pushes him off the railing in self defense, obviously. And thinking he was dead but then he attacks Rebecca and Wes is the one to give him the final punch and that was just WOAH! Didn't see all that scene coming. And then the final scene with Annalise and Wes. JFC THIS SHOW IS GONNA GIVE ME A HEART ATTACK! But I love it. I love the plost twists. I love to say "OMFG WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT?!?" This show is so wonderful. I'm gonna miss it deeply until it comes back.
PS: Always beware of the shy and quiet ones. Those will be the ones to surprise you for good or bad...
THAT END http://i.imgur.com/ZFZHdu8.gif?1 Noticed how Wes was the only one perfectly calm when everyone was freaking out. It made me remember the"warrior gene" shown on The Blacklist. Question: Why the hell Rebecca went to Sam when they were talking? was she cheking on him?.. it will be a good laugh if at the end Sma didnt killed Lyla.
At the end when Wes was just staring for a few minutes, I was like, "Ooh. Is he zoning out? Imagining things?" Then when it was clear he wasn't and things ended as they did, I was like, "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?" That's one hell of a twist. January 29th seems WAY too far away. Sigh. Also, Wes definitely creeped me the hell out tonight. That smirk on his face was so...eesh. Before this I was kinda liking him and Rebecca together, now I'm thinking, "Honey, you might want to back away from him. Like, now."
Eh, keep in mind, Lila's dead, too, and that death certainly looks like a premeditated, cold-blooded murder. The title could refer to that on some level, too.
THIS THE BEST SERIES EVER (No Spoilers)! While..........ok to early to say if HTGAWM is "MASH" great or "CHEERS" great, but it's definitely moving in that direction. Early prediction for the TV awards is that Viola Davis sweeps for Annalise Keating, because she is killing "it" on Thursday nights! The acting is top notch and the writing never gets lazy or sloppy...........easily one of the best episodes yet. 4 WHO, HOW, AND WHY DONE MYSTERY THURSDAYS, I am proud 2B Nobody!!!
Wes is the killer, but I think Annalis thinks Wes caught her in the act of killing her husband even though she had nothing to do with it except helping to dispose of the body. Wes is using good old fashion blackmail to get the needed support his little group needs in covering all this killing and getting rid of the body stuff.
Burning and dismembering the body to get rid of DNA doesn't work as good as you would think. A matter of fact burning sometimes does just the opposite of getting rid of DNA sometimes it actually preserves the DNA. I'm pretty sure because they didn't incinerate the body parts like Wes wanted to. As soon as those parts are found and they will be, the knife stabbing in the back will start.
An awesome episode. I loved the twist at the end and finding out Annalise knows Sam is dead. She probably told Wes what to do with the body, and that voicemail she left Sam.. It was brilliant. The cops will probably hear and and think there's no way she could be involved in his disappearance. I can't wait for the next episodes.. Only two more months and then we'll find out how the show continues from here. Will we see flashbacks to Wes and Annalise's chat instead of flash forwards?
That was waouh... When Sam falled down I was like Oh! all thoses speculations about who killed him for nothing, noboby killed him, he just falled down. And then it happened, Sam on top of Rebecca and I said YES (not that I wannted him die...or a little) this is where Wes comes in action. I always knew it's Wes the killer. But really they are lows students and do declare someone for dead without being sure, If they had called 911 Sam may still be alive. kind of stupid lows students I thought Wes was showing no emotions, he was like I have it under controlle, all he was carry about was Rebecca, but at the end I understood why And Frank may have killed laila pretty good episode
Absolutely great! Rarely does a TV show live up to the hype, but HTGAWM hit it out of the park last night. The story telling continues to be terrific. I particularly loved the "Murder on the Orient Express" style multiple-murders of Sam. Although Wes actually struck the death blow, the complicity of the other students during the fights with Sam in the house, as well as disposal of the body & cover-up makes the all equally guilty.
BTW, in that last, final shot of Annalise sitting in the chair talking to Wes when he returned for the murder weapon, it looks as if she may have blood on her face. If so, was Sam still barely alive (breathing) after Wes hit him--and Annalise found him and finished the job? And, that's why she's helping the students cover-up "their" murder?
Lastly, another twist I'm going to put out there is: Bonnie actually murdered Lila--and is a Dexter-type serial killer. I'm thinking about the man in the bar with Bonnie on murder night. First they were making out hot & heavy, then we see her alone on her cell setting up her date/alibi with Asher. Will we find out, in January, that there were TWO murders that night--Sam and the man who was with Bonnie in the bar? Is EVERYONE on this show a Murderer?
I think it'l be revealed to have been someone else by the time the season finale rolls around, and the entire team will have to deal with the guilt of killing an "innocent" man.
You know, I actually thought the same thing what's up with Bonnie and that guy, it ending to abruptly and the next thing she's rushing to meet up with Asher, there is definetly more to Bonnie than we're seeing, it is the quiet shy ones to watch, just ask Wes:)
Sam is wrong for sleeping with Lila, but if he didn't kill her, the whole team should feel guilty for killing him.
Annalise on the other hand seems to have the whole situation under her thumb. She wanted Sam dead (regardless if he killed Lila), and she's using her law students to cover for the crime.
I did not expect that at all. I actually believed Annnalise's speech about how she didn't mean what she said during their fight. Viola Davis is so good.
Connor is so stupid for telling Oliver he's a drug addict! He could have said he took some just that one night, why make it a proper addiction? I'm pretty sure that mistake is gonna come back and get him into trouble.
I was surprised at how Laurel was the one taking responsibilities. She could get in trouble for bringing the trophy to Frank. But I'm starting to like her more now.
I can't believe there's only six episodes left, I want more! If everyone sends a letter to Viola Davis asking her to change her mind about her 15 episodes contract, could that work?
And that prior episode with the coin toss now makes some more sense. Wes faked the coin the outcome of the coin toss so that they would retrieve the body and then he knocked on someone's door and said that it was all taken care of (or something like that)., At the time I thought he was speaking to Rebecca, but now we know that it's Annalise.
Like pretty much the entire gang, I am still shacking. This was absolutely incredible and the ending was out of this world and not adequate for my heart. Viola Davis was absolutely sensational and so was the whole cast. Everything about this episode was perfect. Major major kuddos to everyone involved. I thin this is my favorite episode of any show I've watched this fall. I may be missing something but right now it's how I feel. Outstanding.
Same here. The same way the students were shaking, so was I when the ending aired. When Annalise was sitting in that chair, my god. Viola freaking Davis!!!
I wanted to love this finale but I found it underwhelming. Wes being the killer was anticlimqctic because I still have trouble getting behind his love for Rebecca. I also have trouble understanding why certain characters are doing certain things but I guess I'll just have to go with it.
Mmhm. I've watched many a true crime show, and you're right about the burning of bodies. Criminals very often try it, and yet they still get caught anyway. When that garbage truck came by at one point towards the end I was like, "Uh-oh...". And so it begins. And ohhhhh, yes, there will no doubt be a WHOLE mess of backstabbing and finger pointing when the evidence starts coming in. I'm looking forward to seeing how that part of things plays out.
Well, I'm sure Shonda won't let her go, since it's a smash hit, after all...Like seriously, I know that it may not be Grey's and won't last for 8-12 seasons, BUT with that in mind I'm sure Shonda had more than one season in mind...and imagine having to come up with something that'd top that on Thursday nights...or just biding adieu to her TGIT block next year. Season 2 is a must!
I don't often go with "Awesome", but I made an exception for today. Cause come, it was fucking awesome. The ending was breath cutting. Well done, one of the best new show on TV this year.
I hope the writers treat HTGAWM like a cable series and don't just pump out episodes for syndication. I want the quality to stay high even if that means a limited number of episodes and seasons.
The Bonnie scenes were def meaningful. There was reason for that! She wanted an allibi! Did Bonnie kill Lila? Annaliese did not want Bonnie in or near her house that night.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Guys if you excuse me, I'm gonna faint and go into a coma and not wake up until January 29th.
ReplyDeleteWell that was insane !!! So Wes is the one who killed sam !! Did not see that coming ..well maybe i did .
ReplyDeleteMy favorite episode so far .
So it was Wes. Damn, I knew that nice guy persona was hiding something sinister. Still want to know who actually did Lila (probably Sam but that seems too easy).
ReplyDeleteAND WHAT THE HELL AT THE END. WHAT THE HELL.
Even though we've already seen almost all of those scenes, all of them put together was amazing. And that final scene!!! GOD, this show is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI guessed it right.I knew for certain wes will land the death stroke in defense of rebekah.Bonnie wasn't wasn't even on my suspect list. The ending shocked me-i never thought annalise found out about her husband and went along as if she didn't knew anything! Excellent mid-season finale!

ReplyDeleteDamn shona damn Wes did it and was disturbingly cool about it and is working with analise wow!
ReplyDeletethat's what I thought...I am SO confused
ReplyDeleteDamn.
ReplyDeleteWes killed Sam to protect his lady love. How poetic...
So Annalise showed up when Wes came back. Damn I dosn see that one coming.

ReplyDeleteNo promo?

ReplyDeleteThat ending!!!
ReplyDeleteWell laurel was pretty danm calm herself compare to the other two she atleast was able to think rationally and keep up with the plan
ReplyDeleteAn awesome episode. I loved the twist at the end and finding out Annalise knows Sam is dead. She probably told Wes what to do with the body, and that voicemail she left Sam.. ReplyDeleteAnnalise is so good actress, her message to Sam, telephone conversation with Bonnie and her attitude the next day just wowwwwwwwww
ReplyDeleteand Wes is more dark than everyone thinks, He manipulated them to get rid of the body
and the end I was WTH is going on
LOL WOW! What an ending!
ReplyDeleteCan we talk about what the hell those scenes w Bonnie were about?? Something was up there... What did she do? What is she involved in?
ReplyDeleteLOVED IT!
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought Wes killing Sam was a bit of a letdown, but overall this episode was AMAZING
That was waouh...
ReplyDeleteWhen Sam falled down I was like Oh! all thoses speculations about who killed him for nothing, noboby killed him, he just falled down. pretty good episode
That ending. LISTEN. THAT ENDING HAD ME GASPING FOR AIR MINUTES AFTER.
ReplyDeleteI NEVER, EVER, EVER SAW THAT ONE COMING. SWEET MOTHER.
THAT ENDING.

Can't wait until January for HTGAWM's return!
The writing on this show has really been top-notch. Who would have thought the writers could up the ante even more even after this episode?
ReplyDeleteIt's funny because I honestly don't even care who really killed Lila anymore!
I don't either (but I think it has been established that it was Sam to cover up the pregnancy. But you can't be too sure with this show).
ReplyDeleteI think it'l be revealed to have been someone else by the time the season finale rolls around, and the entire team will have to deal with the guilt of killing an "innocent" man.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I actually thought the same thing what's up with Bonnie and that guy, it ending to abruptly and the next thing she's rushing to meet up with Asher, there is definetly more to Bonnie than we're seeing, it is the quiet shy ones to watch, just ask Wes:)
ReplyDeleteHe's not all that innocent, all things considered.
ReplyDeleteThere is something very off about Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteHence why I put innocent in quotations.
ReplyDeleteSam is wrong for sleeping with Lila, but if he didn't kill her, the whole team should feel guilty for killing him.
Annalise on the other hand seems to have the whole situation under her thumb. She wanted Sam dead (regardless if he killed Lila), and she's using her law students to cover for the crime.
This show is always amazing but this week surpassed it all. Awesome finale.

ReplyDeleteSame here. The same way the students were shaking, so was I when the ending aired. When Annalise was sitting in that chair, my god. Viola freaking Davis!!!
ReplyDeleteSomething is telling me that the one who killed lilla is either Rebecca or Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Now the question for the second half of the season is will Annalise continue to protect them or throw them under the bus to save herself.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to love this finale but I found it underwhelming. Wes being the killer was anticlimqctic because I still have trouble getting behind his love for Rebecca. I also have trouble understanding why certain characters are doing certain things but I guess I'll just have to go with it.

Well they said the killer was right under our nose..... Fun finding out how Rebecca got bloody! It's all so obvious now.... Where is the ring?!
ReplyDeleteI too wasn't amazed by this ep. I mean it wasn't bad but not excellent either. I feel there could been more!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Annalise killed Lila, she's manipulating everyone since the beginning.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking she's the one who killed Lila...you know for getting with Sam before she did. But it's too easy if it's her.
ReplyDeleteShe has to win a Golden Globe for that one. And an Emmy. Everything.
ReplyDeleteWho are you shacking? LOL
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm sure Shonda won't let her go, since it's a smash hit, after all...Like seriously, I know that it may not be Grey's and won't last for 8-12 seasons, BUT with that in mind I'm sure Shonda had more than one season in mind...and imagine having to come up with something that'd top that on Thursday nights...or just biding adieu to her TGIT block next year. Season 2 is a must!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree! I said the same thing on the review thread.
ReplyDeleteAnnalise knew Sam was screwing Lila do she killed her and put the blame on her cheating husband.
I think Wed will find out what Annalise did in the season finale!
I think Shonda might cap thus series at a certain number of seasons just like Scandal.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking this will be capped at 4 or 5 seasons (pretty much until the group graduates law school).
I don't often go with "Awesome", but I made an exception for today. Cause come, it was fucking awesome. The ending was breath cutting. Well done, one of the best new show on TV this year.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he meant shaking. lol
ReplyDeleteThis isn't Shonda series but I know what you meant.
ReplyDeleteI hope the writers treat HTGAWM like a cable series and don't just pump out episodes for syndication. I want the quality to stay high even if that means a limited number of episodes and seasons.
ReplyDeleteThe Bonnie scenes were def meaningful. There was reason for that! She wanted an allibi! Did Bonnie kill Lila? Annaliese did not want Bonnie in or near her house that night.
ReplyDeleteI know, but they aired ONCE promo last year after the winter finale.
ReplyDeleteInsane episode, that scene with Wes and Annalise at end was a excellent twist.
ReplyDelete
