Awesome ep! Not only because the ending that everyone was waiting for since last season finale, but everything leading to the ending as I loved not only fun the writers had at poking fun at the “alternate universe” tropes by making fun of them. I really liked that it was a way of really having everyone be like S1 versions of themselves - Castle in particular of course. Really liked that Alexis and Martha got some good screen time in both versions of themselves and the little things that they were able to give to each other. Beautiful ceremony and wonderful vows that I’m certain will have toe shippers/fans swooning and it was well done -although I realize that they obviously made the ceremony for immediate family, I was a little disappointed to not see Lanie, Ryan, and Espo there as well… awesome ep that will certainly be rewatched again soon….
Wow. What a amazing episode. From the beginning to end. And that end scene was just prefect. Everything was just right. I know people are going to pick up on that Ryan and Espo and lanie wasn't there. But for me they still had there family at the wedding.so it didn't bother me that they wasn't there. I am so looking forward to the next few episodes. ☺
I have to admit, that was a very cute ending with the dance :) The vows were very touching and beautiful. However (insert sarcasm), that sunset and horizon was so realistic :P Magnificent episode with the AU. Had my doubts with it however, it was presented very well. It did gain a perspective of what would happen if Castle never had that book party :). Beckett would have never solved her mom's case, Esplanie is for reals (especially with that belly of hers), and Ryan wouldn't have never married Jenny! The end of the AU really got to me. Isn't it ironic how it ended? Castle ends up taking a bullet(s) for Beckett and declares his love for her (Montgomery's funeral, anyone?).
After destroying the great wedding opportunity in 6x23 for this, the "new mythology" that required the wedding to not take place had better be "EMMY" material.
People will always complain about something. Luckily world is various… :) (about some comments I read around internet)It was an amazing episode, I enjoyed it and the final scene was perfect! The background!? Who care! The important thing is they are finally married! And I am one of those people who don’t love so much the wedding in real life, but happy if it happens in a show! I loved the fact there was Martha, Alexis and Jim… Yes, I’m sorry that Ryan, Espo and Lanie weren’t there, but still beautiful, romantic and touching! :’)
Also: A DIFFERENT, AND STILL BEAUTIFUL, WEDDING THAN SOME OTHER SHOW WITH “TRADITIONAL WEDDINGS”! BYE. ;)
I thought the "reminiscing" episode was one of the best I've ever seen because it wasn't quite like the "norm" but then this one came along and I realised that Castle is quite extraordinary and every episode is worth waiting for. Thank you.
The AU story was not really what I was expecting and because of that I really enjoyed it. I kept thinking...how much fun was Nathan Fillion having in the sneak around scenes. Loved the AU scene with Alexis...that relationship is one of the reasons I stuck around with the show. I liked the wedding but the green screen of the setting was obnoxious for me. Fun ep. Awesome.
I´d say I loved almost everything about the episode right until the end - the wedding was beautiful, loved the vows and the dance, but didn´t like the scenario at all! and missed Ryan, Espo and Lanie, but I it´s ok because there was only family.
I really enjoyed that episode. Loved the AU story and they are finally married! I was a little dissappointed that Espo, Ryan and Lanie weren't there but the wedding was so sweet, intimate and romantic that I can live with that. There's one thing though. The person who is responsible for that "realistic" sunset should consider a career change ;)
PERFECT ....! I'm misses the team around them for the great day, but as they said they only need each other !! I loved the episode ... Nathan Fillion was hilarious... In fact each time Terri write I put a favorite star on it !!!
What a beautiful and much anticipated episode the AU parts were of course reminiscent of it's a wonderful life they are clearly meant to be together, I'm glad Alexis and Martha were there usual caring selves in both worlds, the wedding just perfect the vows darn it made me tear up just so perfect reflexes on just who they are, long time coming so worth the wait, intimate with the sunset as the backdrop, just lovely!!!:)
They really could have invested a bit on making the horizon look more realistic, because it was really distracting... But yeah, otherwise the whole ep was perfection :)
Castle still had the book party, it was just another detective that came and talked to him. And I don't think that the baby was Espo's. I say that because of the looks they gave each other and the conversation the boys had in the car on the way to the restaurant, Esplanie broke up because Espo had commitment issues.
I watched it again this morning...while the dogs were out frolicking in the sub-zero temps...and caught the fun of the "sneak around" scenes as well, next to the wedding, that might have been my favorite part.
Well, I meant Beckett never came to that book party. I might have to re-watch the Castle and Esposito AU scenes, especially the breakout room scene where Castle talks about "LP". Initially I thought, Esposito was ready to bust Castle's chops because he was being defensive.
Agreed. Aside from the terrible sunset, the idea of the wedding was beautiful. However, it felt rushed and incomplete without Ryan, Esposito, and Lanie. It felt like Castle and Beckett deserved more for their wedding.
Man I wished we had like 5 more minutes in the Alternate Universe side, It be like having 2 Caskett ending at once, yea this ep should of been longer. But none the less it was awesome. I Love alternate universe episodes. And glad they finally got married. Time for the Fun episode post marriage to happen.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteLanie was there...she walked through as the pregnant woman...Espo gave her the skunk eye.
ReplyDeleteperfect episode in every way!
ReplyDeleteLoved it from start to finish. Well done. The wedding was beautiful. My initial reaction was Castle and Beckett got married in Heaven.

ReplyDeleteI chose the "Awesome" choice because there isn't a "Beautiful" or "Amazingly Wonderful" choice. XD

ReplyDeleteUnbelievable episode, one of the best of this show. The wedding that we all were waiting for was great! I hope we see more like this AWESOME episode.
ReplyDeleteFor me it was simply PERFECT!

ReplyDeleteGreat episode I loved the A/U version. I loved how Rick's ingenuity figures so prominently in the A/U version.

ReplyDeleteI came in with low expectations and I was pleasantly surprise at how good this ep was. So the writers can actually write!
ReplyDeleteNF was the ep for me. He absolutely killed it.
Beautiful wedding very well done episode.

ReplyDeleteLoved it:)
ReplyDeleteThe A/U was awesome Rick was in his element as he figured out not only the murderer but the reason behind it.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Aside from the terrible sunset, the idea of the wedding was beautiful. However, it felt rushed and incomplete without Ryan, Esposito, and Lanie. It felt like Castle and Beckett deserved more for their wedding.
