I thought that was a pretty good episode, the fighting/stunts were on top form and the intrigue and detection work between Hercules and Pythagoras worked well. Really liked what Clive Standen brought to the show so I'm glad he's in another episode next week too.
I liked Hercules' comment to Pythagoris about Telemon's puzzling lone journey to Atlantis: "It's not a triangle, Pythagoras, it doesn't have to add up"!
I love tournament episodes. This one was good. We had one last season too.
The main thing I wanted was Jason to win and he did.
Ariadne choosing to accept Telemon proposal was expected because of press release a while back. And even with out it her royals segregation pack would of led to this. But like I said last week I really don't care what she does.
The actress playing Ariadne is so beautiful --- I just wish she would be more enervated in her performance -- being stoic all the time gets old. Will be interested to see in which direction they take Jason 's relationship with Medea because if you read the traditional mythology of the two the show will have to about face to follow it. Not that these show runners have exactly followed much of any mythology but their own thus far.
lol yes, I like that we're getting a few more lines like that, there was one about Pythagoras working out the odds of the fight last week too. I still don't completely understand why the maths genius is there, but at least they reference who he is this season! Him going all Sherlock this episode worked well too, it would naturally be his mind that worked all the clues out after all.
This was the strongest episode so far imo, no messing about, just a straight drama with some nice ambiguity and detective work. I'm interested to see what happens in part 2.
I really enjoyed the relationship between Hercules and Pythagoras this episode, we kinda guessed Hercules would spill the beans to him last week didn't we, lol. Like we discussed, I'm guessing that withholding this info from Jason is what may turn his heart black in the future, possible in episode 6 when the mid-season hiatus starts?
I'm hoping that Medea will at least get out of Pasiphae's clutches at some point soon, I love the actress but she isn't getting much to do at present. I'm not sure how far they will take her relationship with Jason, we know they kiss at least from the promo, but I'm wondering if this will somehow lead to Pasiphae revealing who she is to Jason.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Just let the adventures continue with the trio.

ReplyDeleteI agree. There is definite improvement. I actually enjoyed watching the first threes episodes while it seemed more of a chore in season 1.
