Merrin Dungey has joined the cast of Once Upon a Time in a recurring role, EW has learned exclusively.
The Alias vet will play The Little Mermaid villain Ursula, who was previously voiced by Yvette Nicole Brown during a season-three episode.

I'M SO EXCITEEEEEDDD. More than anything, I just want Ursula and Cruella and Maleficent and Regina to unite and plot world domination together while sipping cocktails in fabulous clothing. If Zelena could, like, rise from the dead and join the party, that would be great too.

ReplyDeleteI wonder if all these villainesses set to guest star, will be forming some kind of villain club to go against the Storybrooke people. Because that would make a formidable enemy, and be pretty awesome if the show goes that way.
ReplyDeleteI'll miss Yvette Nicole Brown not appearing as Ursula, since she did a good job with the voice-over, and was a kickass Comic Con panel host. Still, I get why other things in life are more important. I think I remember Merrin Dungey from Alias and the pilot for Private Practice. She'll likely do a good job on Once. Looking forward to all of these villainesses appearing.
Maleficent, Cruella and then Ursula. Everyone's excited about them. I am worrying this will be a recipe for disaster.
ReplyDelete11 episodes to focus on three and maybe more iconic Disney characters who all need justifications for their evil deeds. Because "Frozen" didn't take away from the main characters enough.
Ok i get this one and it gets interesting from here on out. But strange castings recently, last year it was 2 part season with 2 different villains, now what the hell are they cooking here it sounds strange.

ReplyDeleteOmg! I wasn't excied about Frozen characters, but now my favorite Disney character is comming, so they better have some amazing story for her! And hope to see Ariel and Eric once again. Can't wait for March!

ReplyDeleteHere's my idea:maybe Maleficent ,Ursula and Cruella de Vil will team up to destroy Storybrooke for some reason. IDK,it's normal that there is a villain in season 4b but three villains?I'm okay with that,though.I really like Ursula and Maleficent. I feel indiferent about Cruella.
ReplyDeleteBut Yvette Nicole Brow already appeared as Goldilocks in Good Morning Storybrooke. So she already is a character in the OUAT universe ;)
ReplyDeleteIt would explain the title "Darkness on the Edge of Town" if the villains were massing. Apart from Ursula not being a villain in this universe.

ReplyDeleteI like the idea of several villains teaming up. When I first heard about Cruella, I was skeptical. She's not exactly a huge threat, to the extent The Wicked Witch and The Evil Queen were. But a group of, how do I phrase it, "lesser" villains teaming up, makes them seem more of a threat.
ReplyDeleteHer and Ursula teaming makes sense. I had always hoped they saved Maleficent until the final season, having her be the Big BIG bad of the entire series.

ReplyDeleteperhaps in March 2014 starts Cinderella, the new villains for season 5 will be Cinderella's wicked stepmother and daugthers? of corse, hope will give a season 5!
