Just announced on the Disney Investors call, Bob Iger names John Lasseter as the director of Toy Story 4.

The Pixar film will hit theaters on June 16, 2017

    Why make a fourth film? The 3rd one concluded the franchise is such a nice way. I know it's all about money, but this just feels unnecessary.

    WHY? They had the best ending ever!

    Put it into perspective: It's like a long-running series getting a proper series finale, and yet they still make another season

    People were up in arms when they did the third too assuming that it wouldn't live up to the first two, but it was leagues better than the 2nd. I can't wait for this, as much as I know it's about the $, I don't think they'd move forward without the right story.

    Can't wait for this! Should be very interesting! Don't want to see Lotso again though. Hope that Andy is back, even as a cameo...


    I wonder who out of the original cast will be back? Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Don Rickles, Estelle Harris, Blake Clark should all be there, who else do you think will/should return?

    Seems like a flop. My kid who was in love w toy story will be too old to care in June 2017!!! It is for kids even though yes there is an adult following.

    Toy Story 3 is not just my favourite Pixar film but one of my favourite films of recent years, I am very wary of a fourth film. I have liked the short films they have done like the Halloween one last year was really good but I am worried another movie may ruin the charm of the series. And I want Pixar to stick to original stories and not sequels.
