Daniel Bruhl (“Rush,” “Inglourious Basterds”) has joined the cast of Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War,” set to rock the Marvel Cinematic Universe on May 6, 2016.
The celebrated actor earned Golden Globe, SAG, BAFTA and Critics’ Choice nominations for his role as Niki Lauda in director Ron Howard’s “Rush.” In addition to Howard, Bruhl has also worked with other esteemed directors such as Quentin Tarantino, Paul Greengrass, Anton Corbijn, and Michael Winterbottom.
Bruhl joins Chris Evans (Captain America), Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man), and Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) in “Captain America: Civil War,” with Joe and Anthony Russo returning to direct after this year's hit Marvel's “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”
“With Daniel's ability to deliver intense, nuanced performances, we knew we had found yet another great actor to share the screen with some of our biggest heroes,” said Producer Kevin Feige.
Bruhl is represented by Tavistock Wood Management, Players Agentur Management, and WME.

ReplyDeleteNew Red Skull?
ReplyDeletewhat do you mean, is Red Skull a mantle
ReplyDeleteI'm 95% sure that there have been more than one Red Skulls... but I could be wrong...
ReplyDelete99% sure he will be in it.
ReplyDeleteAnother great actor joins the MCU. Apparently Variety reports that he may also be the villain in Doctor Strange as well, I do wonder who he is, Zemo perhaps?
ReplyDeleteYep,he absolutely will. And he'll have a very important role in it too, according to the directors.
ReplyDeletewell that's just scary and horrifying
ReplyDeleteI think he is replacing Hugo Weaving as the Red Skull! He's german, he's similar in ways to Weaving's version (the character got sucked into space so u could say he's changed) and I think they want to bring Red Skull back and conclude his open ended final scene and a final appearance. Plus they said just yesterday that Crossbones (Brock Rumlow) is the main villain this time around and in the comics Crossbones works for the Red Skull always so they could do a Alexander Pierce/Winter Soldier thing with Red Skull/Crossbones in the present day and plug that into the Civil War story between Iron man and Captain America.
ReplyDeleteThere have been 2 other Red Skull's one of them being his daughter, but Johann Schmidt has always been the longest and prime Red Skull and is still currently in the comics. Folie might mean maybe Daniel will replace Hugo Weaving as the Red Skull or unfortunately maybe Red Skull will be one of the others from the comics like his daughter. I hope the former.
