Chase….ehhh….he better play in some role as a spy for Malcolm because this season has been incredibly strong so far. S3 doesn't need some random love interest that adds nothing to the building mythos of these characters, including Thea who's either going to become a villain or a hero.
Again with the incredible chemistry! Why does she even need a new love interest? Can't she stay single for like 10 episodes? Especially with everything that's going on in her life?
After the torture with # delenarainkiss, here comes #DelenaMistletoekiss! It's like a never-ending bad dream you can't wake up from even though you desperately want to!
Honestly can you blame them. Audience still haven't forgiven them for Oliver/Laurel. So they have to reassure us at every turn "we checked.. there is chemistry..seriously there is..."
Hahahahaha exactly they are over compensating and it's getting out of hand, we get it SA and KC had the chemistry of two chalk pieces (except for when they fight that's when they shine lol) but you need to move on you don't have to swear on the lives of your children that the characters have chemistry every time you cast someone new lol
I don't remember reading that. Maybe that's why I saw the chemistry between him and KC and him and SA? Because I actually got the chance to see it myself without some one telling me that I have to like them.
I think they are still deciding whether to make him Laurel's love interest with actor's schedule being a problem. They did plant a seed last episode with the Korean tacos and "we used to date" thing.
Great. He needs to be a season long presence. I am just surprised he will not be there through ep 10 to 12. That's when SA will be absent. Sounds like a time for Ted to be there for Laurel as she is suiting up. May be they will shoot scenes for these episodes now and add them on. Make Laurel/Ted happen. I like them together.
People blame them always for not doing any chemistry test or for making actors read together before filming the pilot. So they reassure us like scolded children "we remembered this time. Look we did it. We are not going to screw this up this time". It's funny. I always feel MG has no confidence in the material he gives us and over compensates in interviews.
OK now I'm imagining them getting a timeout and standing in a corner facing the wall hahahaha so thank you for that Actually MG likes to play the shipping card a lot to get people hooked and excited.
I would have prefered Laurel had a mentor when she suits up. But i guess they will have her rush into the vigilante business until she realizes she needs someone to guide her and this isnt a game just like Oliver told her.
Can't blame him for that too. His twitter is usually bombarded with such questions. I wish he limit such answers to twitter and act like a mature story teller during interviews.
I still don't understand the need for her to start wearing the costume and fail before being ready. Didn't we do that with the man in the alley. But whatever. I don't care. What I want to see is Ted guiding her through both emotional and physical challenges she is going to face including facing Sara's killer. Now that's the question I want answered. Since in ep.09 we will know who killed Sara.. will Laurel even get a chance to face Sara's killer and exact revenge or will she have to forgive them if it turns out the killer is Thea or Roy?
That it's hilarious... Stephen and Katie never did a screen test. You can notice the impact of that because from Katrina Law reading with Katie to Brandon Routh reading with Emily to this bimbo reading with Willa, NOW EVERY ACTOR DOES A SCREEN TEST with the one they're gonna work with.
They actually shaped their production so that the same fiasco never happen again(My eyes still hurt for that Oliver/Laurel kiss on 1x23, they looked like a pair of C3PO... so robotic Jajaja I wanted to pull a bucket of oil on them).
Whatever they do I will still judge them for putting us in this mess in the first place. They are the reason for all the fandom fights and insecurities.
I am so very glad that Damon and Elena are the only two on TVD. *sarcasm* It means I'm not missing a thing by not watching it. I also gag less at TV. That's a plus. As for Gemma, I won't be happy with nothing less than Jax burying her in an unmarked grave. On The 100 did she really tell us to not get our hopes up for Lincoln and Octavia? That's BS.
Thanks. But why do you think that he's the male version of that character? If she is working with supernatural stuff wouldn't it be more appropriate to have the character on the Flash and not Arrow?
I was actually talking about Olicity lol but now that you mentioned it you're right they did cast KC first, can you imagine Arrow without Stephen? *the horror* indeed, don't even joke about it (haha)
I think she's wearing the costume now for two reasons:
1) Because(And this is a huge "if") if Oliver isn't in the picture and Star City is being taken by the gangs. Ted might return to being Wildcat and tag with Laurel as a sidekick. Even if she isn't ready, she must conceal her identity(her father is a cop and she could lose her day job). It kinds of make sense... I don't think she is gonna be called Black Canary... I don't think that's the final costume either...
2) At this point they need to put Laurel on a costume, rushed or not. They tried doing the character on a more action orientated story and people are still not pleased. The character has way to many baggage. The character has been inconsistent since the pilot(this scene i'm super mad, this one i'm cool, now i'm mad again, at this moment i would talk if you need to, go f**k yourself!, etc). That character was a mess.
The only thing they can do is put her full frontal on the action, ready or not. If people like the action, they might forgive the character. It's the only card they have left. Even if Laurel gets the best written storyline this year, people already made up their minds.
One writer i love once said "the moment you present the character, the audience makes their choice: they like it or they don't". Trying to change their minds is one of the hardest things to do, because a reader or a viewer will analize your work and will know every word/action/gesture of the characters better than you. If you try to take them for idiots, they will call on your bulls**t.
Arrow's writers don't learn... On the final episodes of Season 2 they still wrote Laurel implying she "knew Oliver better than anyone"... That's false. That fact has no ground. People can point out easily why that's not true. Ergo, people don't like the character.
Last episode Laurel started yelling at Team Arrow and talking of them as "Oliver's employees"... You don't do that! You want people to like her, write her being nice to the characters the audice like. They write Laurel telling Oliver he's mad with Grant because he's jealous. You don't do that either! Not now, at least!
As someone who loves to write, seeing the way the writers treat Laurel makes me so pissed.
Oh don't get me wrong. I just want her to become BC as soon as possible. Letting her become a part of the action and the current villain is the best way to go for this character. I have not even an ounce of interest in her personal life. We have seen her personal life and grievances way more than any other character while characters like Roy still is a blank page. Let her be a part of action and let other characters get a chance to develop too.
I have no issue with her putting on the mask in episode 10. If she is going out for crime fighting she needs a costume period. Not everyone can rock common man attire and no mask like Diggle. He is awesome like that. Don't touch him. What I expected this season was her wearing the costume by season finale. I thought till then she would train and work hard as ADA to put people behind bars.
I am not sure in episode 10 she is going out to fight with Wild Cat. Unless they have already shot those scene when JR Ramirez shot episode 6 which is unlikely. Actor is yet to return on set after his shoot for episode 6. Maybe they will shoot it now and add on to episode 10. My problem with her wearing a suit, going out alone, kicking ass and somehow failing (she will not completely fail) is nobody wants to see a hero repeatedly fail. In Laurel's case the criticisms will be through the roof. I liked her going after that bad guy and getting her ass kicked lot of people did not. I fear this will be another rehash of the same. Hope not.
Laurel needs an attitude adjustment and a change in body language. I counted last episode. At least during 5 scenes the character had her arms crossed and on a confrontational pose with Oliver, Ted and even her father. I did not think she was particularly disrespectful to Team Arrow last episode.. to Oliver yes but then he was annoying. Her snapping at Felicity was just after she heard Roy killed her sister and it must have felt Felicity was making excuses. Then most people had issues with the term "work for you". I thought that dialogue was about her and Oliver and not about Diggle, Felicity or Roy. She did call them friends later on. I had issues with her telling Ted she used to date Arrow. That made me mad. There needs to be more casual nods and greetings between Laurel and Diggle/Felicity when she is in the foundry after all they do know each other for 6 months now.
i wonder if claire became an Angel hunter i know it's weird but you never know technically angels and demons ruined her life, and damon and elena please please get elena's memories back
I totally agree with you on the attitude adjustment and her body language. The latter is the reason i never bought her as a lawyer(comparing her to the likes of Suits).
I didn't have a problem with the "we used to date" 'cause of the way she delivered it. I do have a problem to the way she talk to the other characters.
I didn't have a problem either with she snapping to Felicity, but here is the deal: The character of Felicity has the superpower of making any character likeable; because, as the comic relief, she can pull the quirky side of everyone. A big part of the audience relates to her.
So, even if you say that doesn't makes any sense, she should be having more light banter with Laurel. That would make the viewers like her more. They, instead, see the character bossing around and yelling at Felicity(my sister watching 3x02 was like "where did she came from?" when she went "put Oliver on speaker" or "show me that")
Again, these are stupid and small things, but in the history of tv(and writing in general, to some extent) this mechanisms have become facts.
They should shape the story to make Laurel be more friendly with Felicity and maybe Diggle trying to give her some advice like he did to Oliver on the begining of Season 1. They actually know each other for 6 months now, like you pointed out. Laurel should be written more vulnerable, not so "ready to clash with everyone". That would be the first step to make her more likeable with the audience.
TVD- No no no no!!! This is all wrong! It's supposed to be Steroline not Delena! I mean yes they're my OTP, and I love misteltoe kisses, but gimme a break!! They had their chance in season 4 whichI was very excited about, then what happened?? They totally jipped me! Elena had the thing in her hand above her freaking head and Damon didn't do it! Now they want to go through with it when she can't even remember their relationship?? Ughhh! I'm not happy about this. Thanks JP.
SPN- Jimmy's daughter?? Whattttt. I'll be very happy for that. It'll make up for us not seeing Cas in the 200th.
Arrow - I don't mind Thea moving on. Although i love them together, they're both different people and have grown more since being apart. I like who they are now, separately. Idk who actor is, as in I've not seen him act. Have to look at his face again.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteLove the TVD spoiler bc I'm a sucker for Christmas eps and for Delena :)
ReplyDeleteAfter the torture with # delenarainkiss, here comes #DelenaMistletoekiss!
ReplyDeleteIt's like a never-ending bad dream you can't wake up from even though you desperately want to!
What show/character are you talking about?
ReplyDeleteyeah sorry forgot to write Arrow
ReplyDeleteits their go to answer when they promoting new characters. Well except for Ted.
ReplyDeleteHonestly can you blame them. Audience still haven't forgiven them for Oliver/Laurel. So they have to reassure us at every turn "we checked.. there is chemistry..seriously there is..."
ReplyDeleteI just blame them for not using it for poor Ted. I mean if you gonna use them on all new guest stars why leave him out.
ReplyDeleteit's getting really tiresome, they sound like a broken record, and I think they mentioned the chemistry between Laurel and Ted but I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteI only remember JR Ramirez talking about chemistry with Stephen.
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha exactly they are over compensating and it's getting out of hand, we get it SA and KC had the chemistry of two chalk pieces (except for when they fight that's when they shine lol) but you need to move on you don't have to swear on the lives of your children that the characters have chemistry every time you cast someone new lol

ReplyDeleteI think they are still deciding whether to make him Laurel's love interest with actor's schedule being a problem. They did plant a seed last episode with the Korean tacos and "we used to date" thing.
ReplyDeleteIt seems he will be back since the actor posted a photo with new script and blurred title. So i am guessing he already got the 3x13 scripts.
ReplyDeleteGreat.

ReplyDeleteHere is the photo
ReplyDeleteThank you. This could be the script for ep. 12 or 13. Since it's all blurred out this most probably will be episode 13. I am glad he is back.
ReplyDeleteI still don't understand the need for her to start wearing the costume and fail before being ready. Didn't we do that with the man in the alley. But whatever. I don't care. Since in ep.09 we will know who killed Sara.. will Laurel even get a chance to face Sara's killer and exact revenge or will she have to forgive them if it turns out the killer is Thea or Roy?
ReplyDeleteChase is probably just a spy for Malcolm and in my opinion a unofficial bodyguard for Thea
ReplyDeleteThat's a good theory because I don't see the need for her to have a love interest now, it doesn't fit well with her story this season.
ReplyDeleteI have a theory in wich he's a male version of Cameron Chase(or a relative)... Soooo... That would be super interesting. :D
ReplyDeleteThat it's hilarious...

Who is Cameron Chase? I googled her but there were too many results with a lot of information so can you give me a brief introduction?
ReplyDeleteThat is most likely the script the for 3x12 then. The non blurred number #3J5162/T.2712162 is the same as on the official 3x12 release picture.
ReplyDeleteWhatever they do I will still judge them for putting us in this mess in the first place. They are the reason for all the fandom fights and insecurities.
ReplyDeleteShe's a D.E.O.(Department of Extranormal Operations) agent who has worked with a couple of heroes and the suicide squad.
ReplyDeleteShe worked with Manhunter(Not "Martian Manhunter", but Kate Spencer), who's a friend of her.
Cameron is a male name too, right?
I am so very glad that Damon and Elena are the only two on TVD. *sarcasm* It means I'm not missing a thing by not watching it. I also gag less at TV. That's a plus.

ReplyDeleteYeah it is.
I'm grateful that they didn't muhahaha
ReplyDeleteYeah. We got Stephen out of it. Otherwise it would have been another hero with great chemistry with Laurel. *the horror* LOL
ReplyDeleteWe are an observant bunch aren't we. Good eye!!
ReplyDeleteI was actually talking about Olicity lol but now that you mentioned it you're right they did cast KC first, can you imagine Arrow without Stephen? *the horror* indeed, don't even joke about it (haha)

Well, this show does it's own spin on the characters... Actually it was the character i tought the moment i read the name "Chase".
ReplyDeleteI have no ground to believe that... i was just wondering... :P
Your hunches and theories are proving to be right so maybe we shouldn't dismiss that theory lol
ReplyDeleteOh don't get me wrong. I just want her to become BC as soon as possible. Letting her become a part of the action and the current villain is the best way to go for this character. If he turns out to be a relative/alternative ver of Cameron Chase... I'm sorry, but i will say i have a third eye.
ReplyDeleteThat tought is sooo improvable, that if true it would feel like Jesus coming back to life and going "'Sup, bitchies?".
i wonder if claire became an Angel hunter i know it's weird but you never know technically angels and demons ruined her life, and damon and elena please please get elena's memories back
