A Broadway veteran has been cast in a surprising and pivotal role on Showtime’s Homeland.
EW can exclusively report that Tony-winning actress Victoria Clark (stage versions of Sister Act, Cinderella) has shot a top-secret part on the show.
Clark will play Carrie Mathison’s (Claire Danes) mom.
We’re not allowed to reveal when Carrie’s mom appears, or why, or the extent of her role on the show. But this is obviously a pretty significant addition to Carrie’s storyline. Previously, James Rebhorn played Carrie’s father on the show’s first three seasons, but the actor passed away earlier this year.

Is she as dangerously unstable as her daughter?
ReplyDeleteBit late in the season to be introducing her.
ReplyDeleteAnd a shame about James Rebhorn. Didn't know he'd died.
Carrie's dad is the bipolar parent not her mom.
ReplyDeleteI figured that with the death of James Rebhorn, they would have Carrie's dad die on the show. So far he hasn't, but maybe he will now, and that will have something to do with why Carrie's mom shows up.
