Comic-Con had its second edition in Argentina from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th, November 2014, and not even the sticky, humid, warm weather affected the fan gathering. Everyone had it rock star moment, from the cosplayers, Comic Gods as Kevin Eastman and Chirs Claremont, to Finn Jones (Loras Tyrell from Game of Thrones) and Olga Fonda (Nadia Petrova, Vampire Diaries).
There were a few Argentinian comic artists that I invite you to check out here , there weren't a lot of tv stands, Sony, one of the networks that distributes the series we love in Latin America, had a stand with games for the Once Upon a Time, Blacklist, How to get away with Murder and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D fans. The viewers of Game of Thrones and Vampire Diaries had their moments with the Finn Jones and Olga Fonda's panels. Other than these spaces, TV fans might wait for more Industry presence next year.

Overall it was the best place to be at, surrounded by people that likes the same things one does. It was a pop culture fest at its best.
Finn Jones panel was full, the crowd was happy and cheering loudly to everything the actor said. The actor is not only fun to hear, but he seemed to be a humble, kindred spirit. He hugged a few fans that were lucky enough to ask him questions, and even said yes to a marriage proposal. Things that only happen at Comic-Con.
The must asked question was if he read the books, he said yes but then stopped reading because it gets
confusing to be reading the books and the scripts at the same time…Finn only had beautiful words to describe his costars and how lucky he is to be working with people that believes in the story and the material the scripts provide. After that he interrupts the questions to make a joke because of how the fans are standing to ask the questions “I feel like... I’m sorry, do you know when Danaerys is on the
throne and people come in… Loras could be a good King” Obviously the crowd went crazy, laughing and cheering all around.
They asked him if there will be more gay scenes in GOT? "yes, of course
it’s game of thrones! There’s great
stuff coming up for Loras in S5. I finished filming last week and it’s a really
exciting season, I can’t wait for you guys to see it, I think you’re really
gonna enjoy it" After that someone asks what he felt when filming scenes with Renly Baratheon "The gay secenes? Yeah! First of all, Gethin, who plays Renly, is a very good actor, he’s a friend of mine and working with him was amazing. In response to playing love scenes with gay characters, I really don’t care, is just acting, it’s the same as a love scene with a woman. Love is love, it’s the 21st century…"
Finally the last two questions:
Q: Everyone dies in game of thrones, how would you like your character to die?
A: I have put a lot of thought into this, so… Eventually I would like Bran to learn how to change skins
with a dragon, and then I’d like Bran and Loras to team up, eventually I would
like Loras to go to battle on top of the dragon, and then die in an amazingly,
heroically way
Q: Who do you want to win?
A: good question, I think Bran Stark, I think he’ll grow up
to be an intelligent and wise person, but I don’t think it should be about the Iron Throne, I think the iron throne needs to be dissolved, and people should
have the power.
The downside of the Con was the lack of the TV industry stands, Syfy had a Best Inc. stand. No Defiance, no sci-fi series, a stand of a reality show.
But lets focus on the highlights worth mentioning: The Stars Wars parade, The Hunger Games, Pixels and Chappie stands, where there were games to play. To take a picture; the Ghostbusters car in the retro alley and The Mad Max and The Hobbit Stands where you could be dressed up as characters. Finally, all the comic stands and their seriously cool deals to bring home your favorite story.
Thanks for sharing Laura. Glad you had a good time.
