Castle - Once Upon A Time in the West - Advance Preview
17 Nov 2014
BS Castle ReviewsSo Castle and Beckett got married last week in the spur of the moment. After coming back from the Hamptons, they gather their friends to tell them about it. But Lanie, Ryan and Esposito are less than thrilled for the newly weds and are angry that they weren't invited. While Lanie is a little more forgiving towards Beckett, the guys are not. But as murder never stops, they all are called in for another murder investigation.
After following the evidence, the case points them to an Old West Ranch in Arizona. But when they get no support from the local sheriff to conduct their investigation, Castle suggests that they go undercover and also have an impromptu honeymoon. While Beckett is not happy at having her honeymoon at a "dude ranch", she gives in for the sake of the investigation. While Castle seems to be having the time of his life at the ranch, Beckett is definitely not having fun on her "not honeymoon".
The episode is light and fun, and I am sure you guys will enjoy it a lot.
Here are some teasers and quotes from the episode:
-The first scene will make you think that you are watching a medical drama.
-Mr. Beckett???
-Why Castle and Beckett aren't going to the honeymoon they had originally planned is brought up.
-A Marvel character is mentioned by Castle.
-Can you guess who's the first one to call Castle Beckett's "husband"?
-There is a new "wild west" title card for this episode.
-There is an wild west showdown at the end of the episode.
Castle: I wanna be him when I grow up.
Beckett: Yeah, well, if you grow up.
Castle: We gotta find this guy.
Beckett: But how? We're undercover. I can't just flash my badge and get people to talk.
Castle: Exactly! Which is why we don't approach this like cops, we approach this like writers.
Beckett: So we procrastinate and make stuff up?

Haha, I love Beckett's quips. :D Wasn't very excited for this episode but thanks to this preview, now I am.
ReplyDeleteI think Gates is the first to call castle, beckett's husband.
ReplyDeletelol beckett
ReplyDeleteBeckett: So we procrastinate and make stuff up?
ReplyDeleteLOL!
seems like a lot of fun. Cant wait for it :D
ReplyDeleteThat Ryan is not thrilled, I could understand. But Esposito doesn't really have much to want. He has not exactly been friendly to Castle after his disappearance. If I was Castle I wouldn't want him at my wedding either, if he behaved like that. So I hope that we will get some talk between Castle and the boys where Castle tells him that he was really hurt by the fact that they had no faith in him.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome :)
ReplyDeleteEven in his AU Kevin has to be like, "he's not that bad," proving even in his imaginary world. Espo is still a dick.
ReplyDelete(Though he has always been closer to Kate, and Kevin being the 'mini' Castle.)
And why not have an episode where the boys are at dr phil so castle can tell him while we are at it... the ways both espo and ryan responded and behaved are the right ways espo went for protection of one of his friends (older then castle) after the evidence stockpilled against him and ryan went for the give the guy the benefit of the doubt but later also started to doubt castle.
ReplyDeleteI completely disagree, but that is a matter of opinions. Because Esposito already believed he was guilty from the beginning, way before the evidence stockpiled against him. And your dr phil comment is kinda childish but ok. I just mean that we could have conversation between them, doesn't seem weird to me.
ReplyDeleteThere were a lot of times in the past where Castle did something wrong to them, but he always had to beg for forgiveness. Castle forgives people around him way too easy.
And that you are more loyal to one friend is not a problem. But there is in my opinion a big difference between being more loyal and being a bad friend. To me, how Esposito acted was being a bad friend. Esposito did not even give him the benefit of the doubt, well sorry but I could never call such a person a friend.
If Beckett would have disappeared then he would have kept believing in her. And if Castle then would have stopped trusting Beckett then Esposito would have likely beat him up. When there was evidence that Beckett killed that guy, he did not believe it. But when the evidence against Castle in probable cause came up, he also did not trust him. That means he trusts Beckett always, but Castle never. Nothing wrong with that, but it does mean you are not a good friend. Because it basically says that Castle should never count on Esposito to trust him, in my opinion.
sounds like it will be a fun one... looking forward to it
ReplyDeletewdv I have to agree Esposito only seems to trust, like be pleasant to Castle whatever you want to call it only when he can get something out of it like the Farrarie
ReplyDeleteOr front row seats at a
ReplyDeleteBasketball game!! He's buddy buddy then:)
I love the grow up comment. Beckett manages to snark Castle without being mean, rude or nasty and actually funny which isn't easy. The ones I like. Castle:"Do I look like a murderer to you?" Beckett:"Yes you kill my patience. " and Beckett:I was doing my job I don't know what the hell he was doing."

ReplyDeleteEspo is military and a cop two groups where trust is very important and toss on he's Beckett's friend it's understandable. Remember he was pissy towards Ryan too when he saw what Ryan was doing as a betrayal of Beckett. He was with Beckett when they got dressed down by Gates because they were investigating Beckett's shooting against orders. Plus Espo sees Beckett like a sister and guys are protective of females especially those they see as family.
ReplyDeleteI can understand that. But then I conclude that he is not a real friend of Castle and Castle should never count on Esposito to trust him. And that he is like this ok. But when it eventually turns out that he is wrong, he could maybe apologize once in a while. But I feel like Esposito feels he can do whatever he wants and nobody has the right to disagree with him, but he does have the right to criticize everyone else.
ReplyDeleteLike that example you named. That he was mad right after what happened with Ryan ok. But if he would have thought better later he would know that Ryan saved Beckett's live. But Esposito then kept on treating Ryan like an ass. I think Esposito should learn that sometimes he should apologize for things, but instead he acts like an ass and everyone else should apologize to him but he never to anyone else. Castle will probably have to apologize that they weren't invited, and he will possibly need to give them his Ferrari or tickets to make them forgive him. (This is what I think will happen). Why does Castle always needs to apologize, but never him?
And again I disagree. Because in my opinion there is still a big difference in between more loyal and trusting one person more than the other, and just being a bad friend. And to me Esposito is the last to Castle. Conclusion can be made that if it comes down to it, Esposito does not trust Castle.
Plus I got the feeling he has been acting weird to Castle last season already. It's just the whole character of Esposito that has been putting me off the last two seasons. I don't know why that happened suddenly. But honestly, I wouldn't mind if they would write him of the show immediately.
"A Marvel character is mentioned by Castle"
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to this reference lol
Truth is the boys saved them at the end of the episode (as they've done from time to time) and didn't even get invited. That's cold.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything you said regarding Espo, he really can be an ass at times concerning Castle, but where we differ I don't want him to leave he is yang to Ryan's ying, I agree he has been acting all funny with Castle going two seasons ago, I chalk it up to him being jealous of him, he thought he was the alpha male and along comes Rick, I think that's why Esposito acts the way he does toward him!!!
ReplyDeleteThe thing is, I thing Esposito is Overly protective to Beckett... and he kind of "Hate" everyone who hurt her ... he is a big Brother or regret that he is not the one she loves... remember when Ryan told him "What you mean like she is pregnant..." remember his reaction...? and more through all the episode...he likes Castle, but he is watching over Beckett ... that's all ;)
