You better watch out, you better don't cry, you better not pout I'm tellin' you why: Santa Claus is slicin' you up, Santa Claus is snappin' your neck. Santa Claus is harvestin'....your oooorrrrgaaannsss
I really appreciate the work what Amann has already done in this season, but I think with the Lanie-Esposito thread is a dead chase. Except for the hardcore Esplanie fans their relationship is dull. The reason is simple: neither of them is important to the main couple.
Neither Esposito nor Lanie is special on their own right and there is no chance that the Caskett-hungry audience would tolerate the amount of screentime what would need to establish them as unique characters. (That's one of Marlowe's huge mistake and debt from the past six seasons.) In case of this show, this ship has already gone.
Without being special they could be important only if they would have a strong (and maybe controversial) connection to the lead couple, if their relationship would mean a lot to THEM. (Bones with the Angela-Brennan BFF and Booth-Hodgins reluctance is the best example to that.) But this also not the case. IMHO instead of pushing a second rate romance, they should make more connections between all the characters maybe later that could make a romantic plot followable.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

This show is called Castle, not Caskett, just saying.
ReplyDeleteThat true. However without Beckett there actually wouldn't be a Castle. So Caskett it is. So, I don't need the story plots about secondary characters.
ReplyDeleteAnd Beckett is now married to castle which unofficaly makes also makes her a castle :P so your point is invalid.
