I just found this video on internet and thought of sharing with you guys. This interview gives me hope for Laurel at the same time it confuses me. So they accept Laurel is the least skilled among the characters and she gets she is not a hero by putting on a costume. Then what is she going to do? How is she going to help after this 3 episodes?
Ray Palmer has the best costume on internet. First the company, then Felicity, then Salmon ladder, then Oliver's trademark lines about saving the city and be something else... now best costume. Oh no no no.. Hell no.. Ray Palmer... I am going to whoop your ass on Oliver's behalf.
I hope I like Matt Nable as Ra's. We have no idea where this story line is leading at all.
Yep. We know that. But we don't know what he actually wants from Oliver? We know he is not bothered about Sara's killer. He must have some plans for Oliver and Starling city.
Presumed dead or Voluntarily leave with Ra's.... But what does Ra's actually want from Oliver. Will they go batman way and Ra's wants Oliver for a follower?
That doesn't make sense story wise... Why going with him? It's not Oliver-like, to do that. He's the same person who wanted to sacrifice himself in order to save his friends.
Ra's will give him an ultimatum and he will go there and fight him, after all it's Oliver who is securing Malcolm. Ra's only wants Malcolm and the man that protects him. That's why he gives Ollie 48 hours. Oliver will try to find out the truth, but when he fails/succed(we know Ra's wants Malcolm for breaking the code, Sara is just another excuse), the only person in his way to Malcolm is Oliver.
Also, if he goes with the LOA. Why is Ra's letting him go? He only let Merlyn go and clearly was a mistake... one he's not making again.
I think he will be seriously injured and will take him quite a lot to heal... He could be taken prisoner, but then again... Why would Ra's take him to Nanda Parbat? I still think Malcolm's "i care about Thea" is just to make Oliver help him kill Ra's.
PS: I still think Ra's is gonna end up kidnapping Thea on the finale now that he knows it's Malcolm daughter. I would be cool to the Team Arrow + Malcolm going to Nanda Parbat.(AND THEN WE DISCOVER TOMMY IS BAAAACK!!! I'm not gonna let the "Tommy's back" theory get killed by common sense).
Laurel: No comment, not in the mood for a "you are a hater" argument lol Palmer: Just when I thought I couldn't despise that guy more, Oliver Queen must be protected at all costs grrrrrr (lol) Ra's: I can't really form an opinion based on one scene so I'll have to wait till 309.
Well, at least we know they're not making the same mistakes they made with Roy. I very courious about the whole "she'll need to find another way to fight". Also it serves to get her with the team once and for all.
Without Oliver we'll get a chance to see Laurel interact with the other characters without his influence. It's gonna be cool to see a little bit of insight of every character(Diggle, Felicity, Roy and Laurel) without having to filter them trough Oliver's eyes. Like what happened with Felicity on The Flash, we get her side of things.
About Palmer, i'm still pissed they're not calling him Ted Kord/Blue Beetle when he clearly is him. If DC let them use Palmer/Atom instead they should have changed the script, tbh. And the suit doesn't help a bit... Too techy, too much Ted. I still think he's gonna be the one who upgrades Oliver's suit to oe more "armor like" and he will be the one to form the "Justice League United"... I think he might know Felicity works for The Arrow from the beginning and is gonna use her to get in contact with Arrow.
About Ra's... I'm just waiting... I reserve an opinion on that. I still think he might just tricked Nyssa's mind into killing Sara. That gave him an oportunity to go full assassin on Malcolm.
Okay There is a crazy theory going on in the net. Caitlin from The Flash during the crossover helps Team Arrow analyse the DNA evidence from Sara's murder. We were also told at least we the audience will learn who killed Sara by mid season finale. So maybe the DNA is a partial match to Malcolm Merlyn thus Oliver and Co thinks Thea killed Sara. To protect Thea Oliver goes to fight with Ra's and get's injured, captured, lost whatever. Then Oliver comes back and by the latter half we realize its not Thea but it's it's...it's .... zombie Tommy (or a resurrected Tommy) who is mind controlled by Malcolm... There must be a reason they brought Colin Donnell back this season. I heard he is going to be in another episode too. Malcolm is definitely playing a long game with Oliver.. He is using Queen siblings to get to his goal. He might have feelings for Thea but I don't think it will be above his goals.
Well, they could make him an anti-hero... a recurring guest star like Caity Lotz was(maybe 8 to 10 episodes per Season).
Or he could take the brooding side in order to let Oliver be more Green Arrow-like(like he was on 3x01).
He could give the dark levity to the show... The EPs told they're looking into bringing meta-humans into Arrow, so Lazarus Pitt wouldn't be too far fetched.
I was talking to a friend the other day: Ra's is the most dangerous thing you can pull on a grounded basis... And they did it on Season 3. You can do Checkmate for Season 4 while Oliver is in Russia... And then? I think meta-humans on Arrow are a necessity.
As seasons move on they need to up the game on big bads. As it is Deathstroke was so well done by Manu we will be analyzing Matt Nable with a scalpel. So some super powers will come handy for next bunch of villains. Also we will have Diggle, Roy, Laurel maybe Atom and Thea as fighters next season. We will need more danger to balance the increase in heroes.
Poor Felicity. She has such bad luck. Oliver is Oliver.. Barry Allen is hung upon Iris and Ray Palmer is all shifty. Poor girl.. She needs to get laid. I don't care with whom.
She just can't catch a break! xD I was wondering, she told her mother "i'm sorry i'm terminally single" and all i could think was: Holy s**t! She hasn't had a relationship in five years since Cooper? Please tell me the girl still had a friend with benefits somewhere...
They need to let her be happy for 30 minutes, imho. If at some point the imply she hasn't had sex in five years, i'm gonna be really pissed... seriously.
That would be so cool, but Sara didn't look too surprised to see her killer and she would've if it was Tommy. Unless she alredy knew he was "alive". That can be good, I'm all for it.
I can't possibly believe she hasn't had sex in five years. It would be easier for me to accept if she spontaneously grow a beard than that she didn't find at least one acceptable guy to blow out some steam. Homegirl is way to hot to be alone for five freakin' years.
If they bring back Tommy I hope he is not completely evil. Poor Laurel and Oliver they will be devastated. Sara did know the killer. So maybe Tommy is mind controlled by Ra's.. Winter Soldier style..
No way. Even in flashbacks she was very hands on with Cooper. Felicity is not a shy girl by any means. She was the one who asked Barry out last season. She definitely had some lovers in the past 5 years. She is too forward to not to be.
Hm, it definitely is a rally crazy theory xD But I can't really believe that Oliver would believe for even a second that it was Thea, specially considering that Oliver for some weird reason doesn't seem to have an actual clue of what's going on with her.
But it would be interesting, since it's actually kind of annoying me at the moment that Laurel, Ray and practically everyone on the show is getting more attention again than Thea, even with this supposedly being her season xD It's just kind of funny and annoying at the same time to notice this time and time again, how every interview has shifted to Felicity, Ray, Laurel as BC, even Flash related Caitlin as Killer Frost.
I dont know what to think since she carried a lot of guilt because of Cooper. He took the fall for the virus, and then she believed he hung himself. So i believe there was a time she didnt let anybody close.
Laurel in costume = Oliver bailing her out of trouble instead of focusing on bad guys!!!! She's classic damsel in distres but in an irritating and annoying way!!!! Enough with her, she's hopeless!!!!
She might not have been in a serious relationship. But she definitely must have had some fun. He must have had some simple dating experience in these past 5 years.
The lack of movement in Thea front is really annoying especially since they said this is the season for Thea. What is the point in making her learn to fight if she is not using it anywhere. Let's see how the mid season finale goes.
Sort of. He's also meant to further help bridge The Flash and Arrow (there's talk he'll appear on The Flash). But he's also here to become a hero and expand the existence of heroes in the Arrowverse, as well as help drive Oliver's character arc of identity. And he'll probably be a founding member of whatever version of the Justice League this show will have in the future.
The whole point of the series for Oliver is him becoming Green Arrow. He's slowly becoming more of the relaxed, more humorous comic version. It's gonna take time.
Tommy was introduced BECAUSE of Arrow, only because they wanted to go with the show, not knowing that the writers were actually going with the classic approach.
now there're two Merlyns in the 52, Tommy and the old one
If you've ever read the comics you'd know that Black Canary doesn't just use her fighting skills to take villains down. She's very resourceful. She could manipulate guys and weaken them.
I have never read comics so I wouldn't know that... But till now Laurel has never shown such abilities. In fact her convincing power in the show is very less. So Black Canary is like Black Widow in Avengers.
I don't think she had any relationship after joining Oliver's crusade. But I was talking about before. She must have dated some guys. Infact Arrow season 1 comics she actually goes on a date with a guy who is working in QC who uses her to break into QC software and Oliver saves her. She was really enthusiastic on that date. So she is not a recluse. Girl must have had few one night stands for sure.
Yes. She did love Cooper a lot and she was devastated and felt guilty by his death. But from what we have seen of Felicity till now I don't think she would stop living her life because of that. She changed herself and moved forward never to make the same mistakes again. From the comics to the series every flirtation of Felicity except for Ray was started by her. Merlyn already appeared on The New 52's Green Arrow? I just saw Tommy on Issue #0 and the final one... And i think he was showed on a bed all burned up.
Well, i tought that was Tommy... Because of the burns. I think Malcolm is there too, he's the one chasing after Mia and the one who hired Felicity.
Felicity in the comics is very much Felicity, a little more straighforward... But the comic feels like Arrow: The Comic Version(Something i didn't want to).
Ughhh, those references... The first time with Caitlin trying to pull a Felicity(i had blood coming from my ears, it was so badly delivered by the actress... She can't pull those off). The one Cisco said yesterday made more sense.
But must they name her every episode? We kind of already know it's a shared universe...

I'm sure she'll discover what it means to be a real hero at the end of the season. Most likely during a battle with Sara's killer where she decides not to kill the person responsible. Kinda like Oliver last season with Slade.
I know she will continue to train. Never doubted that. MG said Laurel will understand she not ready to go to field and find another way to help the team. What another way? I was wondering about that.
I hate Laurel because she's the worst written character I have ever seen. That's not Katie Cassidy's fault but the writers who screwed up the character from the begining and now they are trying to do damage control making it even worse!!!

Only his manipulating and playing Thea and Oliver as chess pieces, and Oliver without too much effort giving him EXACTLY what he wants.
So they'd better give Thea at least ONE freaking actual centered episode before the season is over where she finally sees the light, because still this playing both sides is just again them stalling it as long as possible to acually make her become who we all want her to become. Which even Willa still wants, so I just still don't get why they're making such a big thing about stalling that as long and kind of fake as possible x'D
About the Tommy thing though, I mean the Lazarus Pit is a little weird, since John Barrowman still pointed to the vile around Malcolm's neck... She will still be fighting and in costume, but will need to find something to give her the upper hand. Since I sadly don't think she'll be given the canary cry maybe Sara's device
I hope so. I don't want her to stop wearing the costume once she starts and then take up later. That will make this look like a stunt. Let's see how this works out.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ok Ra's and Arrow meeting will change the show, it's the climb and that's when Oliver goes MIA for 3 or 4 episodes?
ReplyDeleteYep, it's also when cliffhangers go literall... And they're on top of a mountain... He's gonna be presumed dead.
ReplyDeleteoh wow, very nervous how all the characters will handle with that. I hope it's good.
ReplyDeleteYep. We know that. But we don't know what he actually wants from Oliver? We know he is not bothered about Sara's killer. He must have some plans for Oliver and Starling city.

They are already making "normal" people like Count Vertigo and Cupid fight Oliver like if they were all freaking ninjas...
ReplyDeleteSadly, they need meta-humans here too... And too be honest, a guy who kills with a boomerang is as unrealistic as a guy who shots electricity...
why do i get this feeling that at the end of the mid season finale oli will be hanging off in the cliff. as stephen said.
ReplyDeletewow u blew me away
ReplyDeletewaiting to see if thats real
if they can bring back sarah from season1 alive
then they sure can do same to tommy
That would be so cool, but Sara didn't look too surprised to see her killer and she would've if it was Tommy. Unless she alredy knew he was "alive". That can be good, I'm all for it.

ReplyDeleteAs I said not my idea. Read someone discussing it some where. It sure sounds plausible for this crazy show.
ReplyDeleteAww... He is not that bad!! Palmer defender here...lol

ReplyDeleteLaurel in costume = Oliver bailing her out of trouble instead of focusing on bad guys!!!! She's classic damsel in distres but in an irritating and annoying way!!!! Enough with her, she's hopeless!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe really don't need to give another reason to Laurel to whine about.

ReplyDeleteThe whole point of the series for Oliver is him becoming Green Arrow. He's slowly becoming more of the relaxed, more humorous comic version. It's gonna take time.
ReplyDeleteNot everything in New 52 will happen on Arrow. Plenty of differences between Arrow and New 52 GA
ReplyDeleteHe won't be around at first and Laurel will be with Roy so it's all good.
ReplyDeleteTommy was introduced BECAUSE of Arrow, only because they wanted to go with the show, not knowing that the writers were actually going with the classic approach.

ReplyDeleteI dont think she was recluse, but i do think she had to grieve the terrible loss she felt. I mean it seemed clear that she loved Cooper at the time.
ReplyDeleteI really don't think Oliver would by default ever suspect Thea.
ReplyDeleteYes. She did love Cooper a lot and she was devastated and felt guilty by his death. But from what we have seen of Felicity till now I don't think she would stop living her life because of that. She changed herself and moved forward never to make the same mistakes again. Well...all I know is that they split up Merlyn into two characters but I'm just as confused as you are
ReplyDeleteYeah, it hit me last night when he made that reference (also the Arrow reference but he didn`t namedrop him)...felt like...service...fan service
When he's messing with my baby Oliver (and that's almost all he's done since his first scene) then yes he is that bad lol
ReplyDeleteEven so, I still hate him lol
ReplyDeleteLol fair enough.
ReplyDeleteYou obviously just want to hate on Laurel to hate on her.
ReplyDeleteThe point he's trying to make is that she will grow, she will train till she betters herself. The difference here unlike Oliver/Sara is that we are actually seeing her growth and experience evolve. I'm sure she'll discover what it means to be a real hero at the end of the season. ReplyDeleteI hate Laurel because she's the worst written character I have ever seen. That's not Katie Cassidy's fault but the writers who screwed up the character from the begining and now they are trying to do damage control making it even worse!!!
ReplyDeleteExactly, I mean even Corto Maltese wasn't REALLY Thea centered if you ask me... And then I hear that Laurel will get a trilogy after the midseason finale as BC? And there's more and more coming up for Ray as Atom, so it's making me kind of crazy that almost EVERYONE is getting progress, except Thea who just knows how to fight, and then just gets settled in the background again with some loser douchebag who is SUPER annoying with his attitude.
ReplyDeleteBut I guess we will have to see yeah, but my faith in it is dropping again. And honestly, we're getting so close to that midseason finale, and how much have we REALLY gotten out of Malcolm being a regular?
But mostly it would be kind of sad, but hopefully would make Thea see the light specially... I mean Tommy was such a good guy, i would just think it's sad if he became the Dark Archer, and it would also be, you know, a lot like the whole Green Goblin thing xD
Ugh, this whole thing is just driving me nuts, and it's annoying because it's making it harder for me to really enjoy the season xD
He didn't say not ready for the field. He says she's gonna have to find another way while in the field to defeat her enemies.
ReplyDeleteShe will still be fighting and in costume, but will need to find something to give her the upper hand. Since I sadly don't think she'll be given the canary cry maybe Sara's device
I hope so. I don't want her to stop wearing the costume once she starts and then take up later. That will make this look like a stunt. Let's see how this works out.
ReplyDelete
