I like they are making it a bumpy road for the 2"heroes. So Ollie reveales his identity to CandC, surprise. The only thing I don't like is they choose that boomerang dude as the villain. Seems somehow to ordinary.
CAN PEOPLE PLZ STOP DOING THE SALMON LADDER!!!!! Sorry, Barry, I love you but even you are not allowed, the Salmon Ladder was, is and always will be Oliver's, don't worry, Oliver, I got your back lol So they will spend the 2 episodes complaining about Oliver's heroic methods?! I hope they don't show him as a cruel vigilante. I know he can be tough and ruthless but it's necessary sometimes, and come on Barry you already know that Oliver killed people and yet you were his No. 1 fan but seeing him torture them is what upsets you?! I'm guessing the last scene of 308 will be like the first Flash promo, Oliver shooting arrows and Barry catching them but I think the scene will be open ended and we won't find out who won, I'm cool with that.
For Barry i think one thing is knowing how he used to do his vigilante things... And other is seeing them and being a part of it.
As for the fight, i think the one in The Flash will be stoped by Iris and the one on Arrow will be open to consideration and never mentioned again. Actually that fist scene i think will be the last scene of the Arrow episode: their hands clashing and the fades to black.
seriously this prick is full of himself and turns less lovable the more I hear him brag.
"Wow, what a hot chick" *speeds and raises her pants* "That's my sister Barry" "Oh, she's still hot, wouldn't you agree angry looking Tom Cruise look-alike?" "I'm her dad" *smacks Barrys entire set of teeth out*
Barry isn't a prick he just doesn't agree with Oliver's tactics. Nor is he arrogant (the shit in the promo is because he's not himself in episode 8 of The Flash). Show- off yeah but who wouldn't be? I really don't get your problem with Barry Allen at all.
come on, his "don't see what's so hard about it" with the salmon ladder is a tad prick-ish. Also I'm still not over the mugger scene from last week. I just like him less and less, I started to like him when the season started but him being SO full of himself is a trait I don't like with superheroes.
like.....Peter in The Amazing (douchy) Spider-Man
we come back to this discussion over and over again, don't we? :P
Well, I don't dislike him but I do want him to be taught some humility, he was always a rather quirky and fun character but his latest scenes kind of showed us that he has two Barrys within him: the one with a pure heart and the one that is overwhelmed with the powers he's given and a slight god complex.
I'm sure that when he finally meets Zoom he'll be less of....this but since that one scene (it really was just that one) with the mugger I do have a feeling that they're setting up an arc for Barry to lose a fight and change his cocky behaviour.
he's not reckless but has an attitude I'm not cool with. Hopefully it's part of an arc though
I'm not a giant Oliver fan myself but if there's something Oliver has it's humility about his abilities. Something I can admire, I hate heroes bragging with their powers....wich is what all super strong beings I'm not hot on do, Klaus, Barry, Spidey. This kind of spiteful humor is something new to comic book franchises. Spidey always had a certain snark but never was an outright douche, this is kind of a new aspect of media I dislike. Wich is odd because I think with this kind of mean snark writers think they're making characters more relatable
mugger scene man....stealing the dudes clothes? Bragging about how he ran into the wrong man to rob.
There was a sense of douchebaggery. And for someone that wants to help people he's kind of a dick, no one knows what that muggers backstory was.
He manages to show sympathy for a killer but not a random mugger who could possibly only be doing this to pay for his childs treatment or something similar?
Come on, Barry has a power high and needs to be brought back to earth ASAP
well...it's a friggin salmon ladder, you don't do that unless you're well trained enough. No way Barry wouldn't at least be able to aknowledge how hard it is to do such a pull up. Especially since I doubt that Barry ever managed to do a normal pull up himself.
He never had to work for his powers and now brags with it. I for one dislike his cockyness and disrespect for people that actually work to achieve something instead of standing around and being hit by lightning
I don't say he is ordinary ordinary, but I surely don't think he isn't crossover villain material aka we need both Oliver and Barry to take him down. I assume Arsenal would be enough, but that's just me. Maybe he'll prove me wrong.
Lol that just seems a little mean. Hey Captain Bommerang Arrow and the Flash couldn't be here so they sent Arsenal. That's hilarious. I like Roy and think he's pretty badass, but damn that would suck for him if he got only Roy.
How well trained must one be? They do it on American Ninja Warrior. It's just an advanced pull up bar exercise. Both Stephen Amell and Caity Lotz learned to do it within a short period of time.
So it was wrong for Sara to use it? The Salmon ladder is just something Stephen Amell started using for his own training. Someone who works on American Ninja Warrior built it for him and they decided to use it on the show instead of rope climbing which was apparently really hard to do in the pilot compared to the salmon ladder.
LOL I don't get you. Oliver is much more of a douche than Barry will ever be lmao. Becuase he doesn't see how the salmon ladder is hard, he's a douchebag?
It wasn't wrong per se, sure it was impressive when Sara did it but it wasn't the same as when Oliver does it, I didn't really give it much thought at the time. Maybe because it didn't feel like she was stealing his work out. Plus the context was different, they didn't use it as a way to make another character drool over her like "look at me I'm so awesome I can do the Salmon Ladder like him, there's nothing really that special about him, so love me now because I'm your type and I can do pull ups too", and she didn't brag about how easy it is to do it.
That's not mean. That's not even bragging. That's finding it funny that he ironically robbed a superhero. That's is a hilarious amount of dramatic irony, and Barry merely released how humorous that is. Yeah let's feel guilty for the mugger threatening to kill Barry. Okay Mac sure. He took his clothes and got him arrested. Good people don't threaten to murder others with a gun. He got off easy Oliver would've broken a bone or injured him. Different. The metahuman accidentally killed his friends, was drive insane and forced to feed electricity. The guy was a mugger who threatened to kill a civilian. There's no comparison. Barry isn't even close to power high. You just seem desperate to hate the guy.
I'm desperate to like him, I barely managed it to like Oliver and I'm fighting to like Barry. But I personally consider his overly quirky behaviour pretty darn annoying and his latest exploits to be prick-ish. Could've broken a bone instead of taking his clothes and revealing his indentity to a mugger.
He showed compassion for someone he knew the backstory of but not for someone he didn't know the backstory from....really? I'm desperate to make him look bad?
Being purely objective: the man that killed people (wether knowlingly or not but he did so to "feed") does not deserve more compassion than a person that is robbing someone.
There's a special place for hypocrites that mock people they don't know and show compassion to those that are worse but have a dramatic backstory.
That mugger might have to support a family to make it through the day...we don't know. Blackout killed people and attempted to murder someone out of pure rage....and yet he deserves compassion?
He deserves compassion because he because he's a killer, he deserves to be locked up, but he's still a victim. The mugger yeah he's obviously in a desperate state and financially not well enough, and most likely a victim as well, but unlike Blackout not only is he fully aware of his actions (which is far worse legally and to me morally), Barry never got a chance to learn about the guy or his background. I have no doubt in my mind that he would sympathize with him if he did, but he didn't get the chance. He was going to rob and maybe kill Barry. Both deserve compassion, but honestly Barry didn't do anything wrong to the guy sure he merely sent him to jail and took his clothes off (would beating him be preferable to you?). He just wanted to teach the guy not to rob in a humorous way. But he did the right thing, the guy deserved to be arrested. Doesn't matter if he had noble intentions (which I doubt, again no good person threatens to kill a man without hesitation especially ) Honestly? I like that Barry's willing to instead use his speed to distract rather than hurt when he doesn't have to. It's a better way. A more compassionate way. (Yes taking a gun and clothes off and getting a cop is better than using speed to disarm or punch the guy).
good point, didn't see it that way. I was more under the impression that Barry was just itching to show off his powers. But i'll agree that it's a more compassionate way. You sir just changed my mind through a 3---or longer- hour conversation
True it isn't his. But Oliver is only trying to keep her from Sara's fate and wanted to protect her. It may be unwarranted and poorly carried out but he has noble intentions and despite the hypocrisy he showed in the episode, I feel it keeps him from being a douche.
Agree with all of these…..you know, Felicity mentioned back when Ray was doing it that she had a type…you think Felicity secretly had a thing for Sara?
Yeah I thought Barry was adorable when he was on those few episodes on Arrow so I was really excited for the Flash. He's had some really good moments like his relationship with Joe and visiting his dad in prison which I liked a lot. But even as a Barry fan, I have to admit the character is starting to become a bit of a jerk. Which is really frustrating because it makes him difficult to like. I understood some showing off at the beginning like for Caitlyn and Cisco and Dr. Wells and then again for Felicity but its kind of getting old. I really hope its just a phase he gets over because I want to like him again.
Um, I hope for both. :) Since 109 is the midseason finale they should promote it as early as possible. Maybe first a "to be continued", then the 109 promo.
Caity Lotz's body is just ugh... She is so sexy. Her doing salmon ladder is still my favorite thing.... God that season 1 monologue.. Thank goodness Diggle and Felicity joined him in Arrow cave. Nothing can top season one training scenes. Too much clothes this season.
It's not being full of yourself or cocky or whatever if you can actually back it up. He has SUPERPOWERS! False humility would just be silly. But Barry powers or no is willing to try to help people. He trusts his powers the way you'd trust being able to walk. Oliver is like a big brother and funny competitiveness over physical prowess is just that funny competitiveness.
Amell is so much fun because he gets so much height when he does it. Probably not energy efficient compared to how most people do it, but looks so impressive on screen.
I live by the "if you don't want my advice, don't come crying to me when there's a problem" school. He had every right the minute miss "I can handle it" called Felicity.
Did he have no right to try and help her when she was boozing out and driving drunk and getting high? Were Lance and Ollie douches then? Maybe no, maybe friends have no right whatsoever to try to help people. But the path she's on is a lot more dangerous to her health than the booze was.
Maybe, but I wouldn't do it. Scenes from more than one episode may work in a cross over promo like those we already know for Flash 1.8 and Arrow 3.08, but to mix the cross over with a regular episode? No, would end up in a muddle IMO.
It's not easy being Oliver Queen, someone is always questioning his methods no matter what he does! If he kills he's a murderer, if he doesn't he's weak.
I think Barry is really naive about what a vigilante life really looks like. He never had to make a though call or a big sacrifice while being The Flash. When that happens he'll probably understand Oliver better, I guess. Also, Oliver doesn't have super powers so his methods (butt kicking, arrow shooting) are completely acceptable, shut up Barry!
Ray's was the worst imo. It was clear the actor could only do one rung hardly. It was not even a full body shot.. All awkward and really unnecessary on the nose parallel with Oliver. This scene at least looks fun.
Also Starling City is a much more dangerous and ruthless place than Central City. Look at the motivations of all the villains of The Flash. They all want money or personal revenge. Most of them are petty thieves with superpowers. Unlike Starling City which is swarming with Organized crime and brute thugs. Arrows ruthless methods are necessary evil for Starling City.
Exactly. Oliver in his first season went against the Dark Archer, Vertigo, Deadshot, the Dodger... that's really impressive considering he doesn't have superpowers and did most things only assisted by Dig in some capacity. Felicity only joined them thoroughly by episode fifteen. Even with his superpowers, by himself, Barry would've probably burned all his clothes, would've died from exaustion and wouldn't even know where to start fighting crime, so yeah, Team Oliver all the way!
I'm having a hard time watching this show without crying every week, 'cause Oliver is my favorite and I can't take his manpain anymore! I need something good to happen to him really soon or I'll be dehydrated by the end of the season.
I swear I told my friends the same thing, I said if this angst doesn't end soon I may not make it to the finale lol Seriously I spend most of my Thursdays depressed or crying or eating chocolate and sometimes all three, sigh.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Someone is looking a little jealous when the girls are impressed by Barry on the salmon ladder!!! Is it Tuesday yet???
ReplyDeletemeh he is doing in the suit. Nothing too impressive. The salmon ladder without Oliver just isnt the same.
ReplyDeleteTrue....really looking forward to these episodes!!
ReplyDeletethe flash episode looks more cool i have to admit or maybe its just the better editing promo?
ReplyDeleteI like they are making it a bumpy road for the 2"heroes. So Ollie reveales his identity to CandC, surprise.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I don't like is they choose that boomerang dude as the villain. Seems somehow to ordinary.
CAN PEOPLE PLZ STOP DOING THE SALMON LADDER!!!!! Sorry, Barry, I love you but even you are not allowed, the Salmon Ladder was, is and always will be Oliver's, don't worry, Oliver, I got your back lol

WHY ISN'T IT TUESDAY YET?
Salmon Ladder only belongs to Oliver. everyone else who doing this, doesn't make any sense.
ReplyDelete"How often does Oliver do this?" not enough, Caitlin, NOT ENOUGH :(
ReplyDeleteWe better get some sneak peeks tomorrow for the Flash episode!!
ReplyDeleteYES PLZZZZ! I'm dying over here.
ReplyDeleteOh, man... I don't know what i want more: This crossovers or the marshmallows i bought to eat with my sister while watching the episodes.
ReplyDeleteI'm dying here... :(
For Barry i think one thing is knowing how he used to do his vigilante things... And other is seeing them and being a part of it.
ReplyDeleteAs for the fight, i think the one in The Flash will be stoped by Iris and the one on Arrow will be open to consideration and never mentioned again. Actually that fist scene i think will be the last scene of the Arrow episode: their hands clashing and the fades to black.
I really want someone to smack Barry....HARD
ReplyDeleteseriously this prick is full of himself and turns less lovable the more I hear him brag.
"Wow, what a hot chick" *speeds and raises her pants*
"That's my sister Barry"
"Oh, she's still hot, wouldn't you agree angry looking Tom Cruise look-alike?"
"I'm her dad" *smacks Barrys entire set of teeth out*
Well I tried hard to not see this promo. That lasted long... I am such a weak willed person.
ReplyDeleteBarry!!! slow down honey... You are no where near Oliver.. pace yourself.. at least take your shirt off and show us those lightning abs..
Only Oliver can make Sally the salmon ladder look sexy.. But Sara looked the sexiest doing it...
I think Barry missed the point of the salmon ladder.
ReplyDeleteDude he just out salmon ladder Oliver? Shits going down.
ReplyDeleteYes because so many villains use boomerangs. He's Suicide Squad nothing ordinary about him.
ReplyDeleteBarry isn't a prick he just doesn't agree with Oliver's tactics. Nor is he arrogant (the shit in the promo is because he's not himself in episode 8 of The Flash). Show- off yeah but who wouldn't be? I really don't get your problem with Barry Allen at all.

And to be fair I think he honestly doesn't get why the salmon ladder is tough.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't dislike him but I do want him to be taught some humility, he was always a rather quirky and fun character but his latest scenes kind of showed us that he has two Barrys within him: the one with a pure heart and the one that is overwhelmed with the powers he's given and a slight god complex.

probably because he's been given strength and never had to work for it, something that shows us how little he actually knows of human limits
ReplyDeleteHe knows human limits (dude was normal for 24 years) he's just never done a salmon ladder pull up.
ReplyDeleteBut Barry's never mean.
ReplyDeletemugger scene man....stealing the dudes clothes? Bragging about how he ran into the wrong man to rob.
ReplyDeleteThere was a sense of douchebaggery. And for someone that wants to help people he's kind of a dick, no one knows what that muggers backstory was.

ReplyDeleteFlash salmon ladder. First time ever in history (TV and comics)
ReplyDeleteHow well trained must one be? They do it on American Ninja Warrior. It's just an advanced pull up bar exercise. Both Stephen Amell and Caity Lotz learned to do it within a short period of time.
ReplyDeletehave you ever used a salmon ladder?
ReplyDeleteYou must at least be capable to control your entire upper body without just using the pull to throw yourself up. It requires some serious exercise
It was totally fine when Sara was doing it.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be awesome though? Lol. The "big guys" like Ollie and Barry don't want to mess around with a villain so they send in Arsenal.
ReplyDeleteHe would of course sound like a prick when you give him fanfic dialogue.
ReplyDeleteLMAO Barry supersped the salmon ladder and Caitlin loves it, and um Barry don't you know how Oliver does things they're not exactly by the book
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteso i'm guessing you didn't like when Sara did it?
ReplyDeleteSo it was wrong for Sara to use it? The Salmon ladder is just something Stephen Amell started using for his own training. Someone who works on American Ninja Warrior built it for him and they decided to use it on the show instead of rope climbing which was apparently really hard to do in the pilot compared to the salmon ladder.

ReplyDeleteLol..
ReplyDeleteLOL I don't get you. Oliver is much more of a douche than Barry will ever be lmao. Becuase he doesn't see how the salmon ladder is hard, he's a douchebag?
ReplyDeletesure Oliver is a douche but Barry is a freaking douche by showing off and totally mocking others.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't wrong per se, sure it was impressive when Sara did it but it wasn't the same as when Oliver does it, I didn't really give it much thought at the time. Barry isn't even close to power high. You just seem desperate to hate the guy.
ReplyDeleteNeither are douchebags (well Oliver was but I feel he's redeemed himself).
ReplyDeleteen contraire mon...ami...amo...friend.
ReplyDeleteI'm desperate to like him, I barely managed it to like Oliver and I'm fighting to like Barry.

ReplyDeleteNever really thought about, didn't like and didn't hate it.
ReplyDeletegood point, didn't see it that way. I was more under the impression that Barry was just itching to show off his powers. But i'll agree that it's a more compassionate way. You sir just changed my mind through a 3---or longer- hour conversation
ReplyDeleteOliver was pretty douchy when telling Laurel not to train with Ted, come on. It's her decision, not his
ReplyDeleteLol cool.
ReplyDeletebecause Sara is.....was....hot doing so :P
ReplyDeleteTrue it isn't his. But Oliver is only trying to keep her from Sara's fate and wanted to protect her. It may be unwarranted and poorly carried out but he has noble intentions and despite the hypocrisy he showed in the episode, I feel it keeps him from being a douche.
ReplyDeleteAgree with all of these…..you know, Felicity mentioned back when Ray was doing it that she had a type…you think Felicity secretly had a thing for Sara?
ReplyDeleteMy guess is 308 of Arrow, kind of like a "to be continued tomorrow night on Arrow" kind of thing

And one does it slow (so we & Felicity can enjoy it) and sweatiness muss be involved.
ReplyDeleteBut not the way Ray did it with suround sounds from the lair.
Or maybe a promo with scenes from both episodes?
ReplyDeleteOf course they have to promote the crossover but when will they air the 109 promo? Maybe after Arrow? A combined promo for both finales?

ReplyDeletehahahahahaha that ain't right lol
ReplyDeleteWe have to stop getting so invested!
