I'm looking forward to seeing Cupid, Team Arrow in the van, and that blue dress. Everything else not so much. Next week we'll be almost a third of the way through the season and Arrow still hasn't given me a reason to care about Ray Palmer at all.
I love cupid! But Ray and Felicity? NO! Thanks... They don´t even have a romantic chemistry. Ray looks like a stalker and there is something about him that I don´t like.
nah, she's not a hypocrite like Sookie was and she isn't playing people. However I do agree that the constant attraction from characters towards her direction is growing more than annoying. The more popular a fan favourite gets the more guys fall for them....and for some reason most computer hackers turn into fan favs
I look at a that photo and all I can see is Felicity's glorious behind. Oh there is a shirtless guy standing there. But still what a back!!! You make me question my sexuality lady!!
I mean, but still, not even my family knows my size, let alone my boss to have a dress in my size and have it casually hanging in his closet. I liked the idea of Ray but for some reason (I don't think it's Brandon's portrayal but it kinda is) he just gives off the wrong vibes. Maybe he'll grown on me when he is able to grow smaller in size.
I think it's the classic "obstacle" thinking, people feel positive towards a relationship and subconciously despise anything in it's way. I don't think that he's creepy, not more than Oliver or Felicity. Oliver constantly showed up in her office to ask her for odd favours and Felicity well...is kind of obsessive towards Oliver. Only that people see the actions from these two as "romantic" and "dreamy" whereas Ray being weird is counted as "creepy". It's all a subject of personal bias and perception
it IS her best feature, no shame to admit that, I actually thought Routh was sporting a sixpack, didn't think he was so skinny (not judging, only confused because of his rather wide physique)
I don't find him creepy. I found him stalkery a bit in first two episodes. But later on I get a vibe that he is an inventor who is a bit absent minded with no sense of propriety.
she may finally do what we always wanted: slit Merlyns throat and force Barrowman to go all ham on us in his almost-death scene.
"Oh, what gruesome end do I have to meet" *dramatic head swing towards Oliver "All I ever wanted was make a better world for thee" *reaches his hand to Thea "And ye, my beloved" *drops dead dramatically
Who's everyone? Cause if it's Barry, that's not suddenly. He had a crush on her last season. If it's Cooper, he was her EX boyfriend from M.I.T. If it's Oliver, Oliver had feelings for Felicity last season as well (although many people will choose to argue about this. Just remember 2x10 and Diggle's "you didn't have a problem with Felicity's performance until after she met Barry Allen". AKA jealously. ) and now we have Ray who seems the type that would be impressed/ fall for intelligent females that match his IQ range. Not to go off on you, but posts like these bother me. Sorry in advance.
no, i totally get your point and i am totally biased, but oliver didn't just randomly show up in her apartment after knowing her for only a few weeks- it was her office which is a public space.
but he did show up multiple times, when a girl, completely unrelated to my business, shows up more than four times at my desk and asks me for odd stuff I might have to change my phone number...or probably move away alltogether
What's your point? Felicity is a beautiful, intelligent single female. As a straight women, I would fall in love with her too. I honestly WOULDN'T believe it if Ray Palmer did't have any feelings for Felicity considering she's just his type.
you asked for Amandas definition for "everyone" I gave it to you.
And that said: I agree, she`s a hot piece of ass but so what? People have different tastes and not everyone shares interest in the same type. Apparently our superheroes do.
It's just a classic television trope, the nerdy girl is usually the main interest of the dreamy guys. It's not an issue of mine but certainly a fairly obvious way to bury characters on us
oh well, all he needs is more drama. I love his overacting but we haven't had enough of this in season 3 so far. Episode 4 should have been a hamfest but sadly wasn't :(
Can't wait for the Ra's confrontation. *Merlyn and Ra's fight each other while simultanously dancing ballet*
Just saw other photos. Cupid looks deadly and beautiful. Oliver, Felicity and Diggle on a mission against cupid...
So Ray Palmer has a version of Sally the Salmon Ladder. What is he called? Shall we ship Sally and the new guy? Felicity looks beautiful in the blue dress and the pink blouse and black skirt. Looks like they launch some new project for QC and Felicity is heading it with Ray. I can't wait to see what his plans are.
I think Felicity tries to move on this episode with Ray Palmer, feels good about her decision until he shows his plan to be the next vigilante which leads to her crying in the NZ promo thinking everyone she likes turns out to be a freaking super hero. LOL
Well Amanda also said suddenly and as I explained, it wasn't suddenly. It wasn't as if they fell in love with Felicity Smoak at first glance. To be honest, I don't even think Ray has looked at Felicity as a women yet so I'm very excited for this episode. Ray (from what we've seen so far) has only cared about QC and QC ONLY and no romantic advances from him whatsoever regarding Felicity Smoak. He has a one track mind only and all he ever talks about is QC.
I think people are just shocked that it's all happening this season because we've seen Felicity without any loving for a whole 2 years and this isn't her fault. It's the writers but at the same, people are forgetting that people like Barry and Oliver has feelings for her before this season even started.
Stick him in a room alone with Oliver and you have and instant honey-glazed ham on your hands. So the solution is more Oliver/Merlyn confrontations. Ra's showing up should help with that. Oliver will begrudgingly have to help Merlyn stay alive and they'll be constantly butting heads over The League, Thea, his past, etc. etc. I think season 3B will be an epic ham sandwich.
An advice... don't bother talking Felicity with him... xD
If Wildcat ends up being a love interest for Laurel she will have the same amount of love interests as Felicity. Wich is fine, they're both beautiful womans.
It's not like it came out of nowhere. And the Barry thing, calling it something is kind of a streach.
Well no, it didn't come up all of a sudden, still I agree that the idea of that happening is odd these days for your mentioned reasons.
However Ray appears to have had his head full of a lot (dare I say too many) of stuff, I do think there's a romantical aspect to things. There should've been more developement on that part though
well...I've been trying VERY hard to forget that movie. Not that I didn't like it, it suffered from overlength though. I still firmly believe if they cut the movie down to 80 minutes it would've been a short but more exciting movie. I don't remember his physique in that one though.
He did however look bulkier in Dylan Dog (a movie I recomend every fan of supernatural comedies to watch)
Thea, in a bra....despite the probably disaproving father I want moaaar
But seriously, how come there are so many hot chicks on that show but the only people showing skin are men? Not that I bother, shows me every day that others look better than me and pushes my ego down. But come on...
I still stand by Ray not seeing her as a woman lmao All that man talks about is QC this and QC that. He sleeps at QC and walked into Felicity's apartment in the morning to discuss QC.
and it's only odd because Felicity was single for the two years we've seen her but who's to say she wasn't getting hit on during her weekends? and although she is a "nerd", she doesn't dress like one. Someone in her dresses and heels have a better chance of getting hit on vs. someone in a sweater and jeans. Especially someone as pretty as her, I think it's very believable that people would find her attractive :)
oh, it was too long alright but i still think it had a better storyline than man of steel even though henry cavill is a way better superman (AND DREAMY...). and it was like 6 years ago so pretty sure he lost some weight since then.
He was also in 'Table for Three'... now that's one movie I'm trying to forget BECAUSE IT WAS HORRIBLE.
given the statistics about the ratio of women being naked/topless in hollywood in comparison to men (like 4 women for every men, or even higher) , i am actually thankful to arrow that they are making the men the eye-candy and not the ladies.
oh storyline wise it was pretty damn amazing. The way Singer managed to create a sequel to the 80s franchise was impresive alone. And the plot was better thought out than MoS (wich I despise for it's grittyness, wich has no place in such a movie). MoS was a gorgeous movie but in style and tone was aimed at the Dark Knight fanbase, wich is NOT the Superman franchise.
If anyone ever intended to make a sequel to the old Batman saga the way Singer did it for the Donner movies I would probably jump around in ecstasy.
Wasn't that a Starz original movie? Lifetime/Starz and generally original movies (except Sharknado....I love this trash) is terrible.
Routh is one of the actors I never conciously follow from project to project but he constantly shows up in stuff I don't expect him to
I need someone to tell me because I don't think I can look at Ray/Felicity relationship objectively when I want her with Oliver.
So, is Ray buying her a dress (literally picking out what she is going to wear) and giving her expensive jewellery, is that worrisome/controlling behaviour? Are we pushing 50 Shades of Grey territory again here?
If a dude did that for me in my own life, it would raise some flags. But this is TV and like I said, I don't think I can be object. Any one?
First the fandom isn't the writers Mac, as I've said countless times. Second no male is claiming she's perfect or other crap like that. She's not being pedestaled on the show at all. She's not Lana Lang, Elena Gilbert, etc. There's a difference between multiple men finding you hot, and a character being praised by other characters as better than others and the most perfect on the planet. Felicity isn't treated as that.
I wouldn't put it past him, most of his actions are creepy and stalkery besides the man has o boundaries, but somehow the show wants us to see it as quirky and adorable and romantic!!!!
MoS was such a let down for me even though I loved all the actors and the look of it. Given how Superman was so distressed about having to kill Zod (which is what makes Superman a good hero, that he is a good-doer and has a no-kill policy), he was completely OK with getting the entire city destroyed just to punch him and that was just absurd. And that entire sequence was just some 20 minutes of unnecessary violence.
I liked what they were getting with the back story and the introduction was really great, but the movie lost its footing after some 1.5 hours. And it should have been 2 hours long at most. I don't think I've watched Routh in anything apart from these two... well, except Chuck. And also he had a pretty horrible sitcom 2 seasons ago that got canceled immediately?
You see that's not what I consider pedestaling, because Mrs. Gilbert may be the focus of every guy in MF but isn't talked highly about. The only guy that ever did that was Elijah. Damon on the other hand is a straight out jerk.
I consider pedestaling as a way for writers taking a character and turning him into something more important that they were before by turning them into a focal point. Spike from Buffy is one example, he was a villain but the moment he turned into a main character he was focused on a lot and got snarky lines.
I may bend my definition of pedestaling a lot but the way I see it: the bigger the rise of a character, the bigger the pedestal the writers put them on (no character needs to praise them, the praise is in the writing already)
I agree on context. But I think the writers think that this behaviour is okay/romantic/cute, so I don't expect Felicity to be written as uncomfortable. Ray's behaviour from the beginning has made me uneasy but like I said, I watch with Olicity tinted glasses, so what do I know? :)
I loved the flashbacks and the way they attempted to make us relive Clark growing up through them but many parts just didn't work. Jonathan literally turning into Mr. "Stay in the Closet Clark" hurt me as a long time Superman fan. He was always the one to tell him to hide his powers but not to NOT embrace them. The character walks a fine line but that movie screwed that line over
And I didn't mind the necksnap either, what bothered me was the mindless destruction and countless lives that were ended in the process. "WAAHHH, I just killed a guy for the first time....well except the 1,200 people I killed in the meantime"
Yeah Partners...that show was blah. But he was on Crackles Chosen for a season and was actually pretty good in it
I will give you the salmon Ladder but honestly I didn't even notice the lack of shirtless scenes until people pointed that out, I really do watch the show for the plot you know lol
No worries... Well, i get what you mean, but here is my way of thinking about that(i'm about to do a serious talk here, don't be scared).
1) The Barry thing this Season was only to make someone go to The Flash without feeling forced. It was just a matter of "Who can be sent to Central City to promote the shared universe?". On that scenario she made the most sense.
2) The whole Ray thing is the standard love triangle to drag the relationship one more year. It was bound to happen. I actually think it was needed from a narrative perspective for a lot of reasons for her to meet "the outside world"(Felicity, even if it's my favourite character, was very 2 dimensional... It was the only character that never had a B Side Story), especially if they intent to get Oliver and Felicity together. But the "romantic part" of the Felicity/Ray relationship was just to drag the "will they/won't they" one more year and to write a jealous Oliver(something we never see and the audience digs, as make the character seem more real to the casual viewer).
If this was a cable show with 10 episodes per Season they wouldn't be doing this love triangle. They would just put Oliver and Felicity together.
So for me it's just two men(Oliver and Ray). I don't think of Barry as more of a forced plot(I mean, she actually said "you woke up. Never called, never wrote...". It was out of nowhere, just a promotion thing).
Eh, it doesn't bug me. I don't think the relationship is going anywhere long-term and it is nice seeing Felicity interact with someone who isn't a vigilante/hero(yet). That element of the show has been missing for a long time.
You see, I disagree there, Ray is obsolete if it's about a triangle. They already have Laurel, aka. third wheel. If they want a triangle they could go with her, simply because she's hate already anyway
Ray is there for a reason, not to cause romance drama but to evolve into a hero utilized on both Flash/Arrow/whatevershowcomesnext.
And the only point Amanda made was the fact that every hero we met falls for her. And at some point Firestorm will come into play, no way they're not going to use that opportunity (Felicity was a Firestorm character when introduced)
So Felicity being a hacker and useful to Team Arrow, and now actually getting her own plot is pedestaling to you? Common on Mac that's ridiculous. She's not any focal point.
That's not accurate, FYI. For example they don't count a shirtless man as being equal to a shirtless woman. It's been a while since I read it but I am also pretty sure they don't count man butt as nudity either(they dismissed it as "comedic nudity").
She is a focal character, let's not undermine her importance here Grayson, she's more than important, she's an essential part of the show. She's being focused on more than ever intended and that to me is pedestaling a character to new heights.
It's nothing I even mind, hell Malcolm has been pedestaled a LOT and I love the guy, "He defeated me twice"....and hell the fact that Malcolm beat Nyssa with ease was pedestaling as an event itself.
I don't mind a character being put on a pedestal, doesen't change the fact that she is being put on one, maybe our ideas of that term go split directions
I know that the show will most definitely end up with Oliver and Felicity (eh, whatever), but I am really excited about Ray and Felicity happening right now.
Very stoked for Cupid, she seems like such a campy villain, I love it.
I patiently sit through Laurel's incompetence always hoping her redemption is a scene or episode away. I patiently sit through Colton Haynes' horrendous acting (although I'll admit, Roy's "Don't abandon me" scene with Oliver was pretty dang touching). I'll even patiently sit through this whole Ray/Felicity thing... BUT Ray doing the salmon ladder... No. Just No... Aaaaand nancy-pantsing his way up it with gloves on, geez, even freaking Sara did it without gloves on dammit!
Don't jump me Olicity fans, but I don't thinkthat the show will end with Oliver/Felicity.
If there's one thing the writers have been consistent with it's actually the GA myth. I do think that they will get together at some point. But the final episode of Arrow will most definately allude to GA/Canary, not because the fans demand it but because it's an integral part of the saga.
Also, since I think that the Flash is going to go on longer than Arrow I already see Felicity move to that show, meeting Ronny and ultimately going into her own universe. The Firestorm myth
It's Graydon. It's literally my username. Yeah dude of course that's what happens when a character becomes a series regular. That's not pedestaling though. That is just character evolution. Nor is Malcolm getting more stuff, because again he's a main (and the Nyssa thing, she's at Oliver's level and Malcolm is better than Oliver so he should be able kick her ass). Pedestaling is more treating a character with uncharacteristic standards or expectations.
Oh, i know! I was refering just to the Ray/Felicity part of the character... If he becomes "The Blue Beetle version of The Atom" it's that character's own story. For Felicity he is her boss and her love interest.
The writers are trying to make the viewers like Laurel... Puting her on a love triangle with Oliver is not the way of doing it. It would only drag more unnecesary hate towards her(I think she wanting a relationship with Oliver again would be out of character, but that it's my own opinion).
I don't think they will do the Firestorm thing Jajaja Like i said, the Barry thing on episode 4 was just "promotion"... If they drop something with Firestorm i think it will be something in the lines of "You look like my step mom" or something like that... This is not Gossip Girl.
I trust the writers on that front... And to be honest, who on this show isn't a super hero? Tommy, but he was a red earring for The Dark Archer... If Cisco has the hots for Thea you can say that both Arsenal and Vibe like her(And we need to see who the hell is the new guy, cause i don't think he's jus ta DJ)... What if they introduce Cheshire for Roy?
You only made me realize that i really miss normal people on this show... Lately every character they introduce is a superhero.
See, as much as the writers respect and love their comic book lore, I think the fandom's general, for lack of a better word, obsession with Felicity and the Oliver/Felcity relationship will dictate with whom Oliver will end up with.
I could see them not going with the canon comic relationship on Arrow, but rather go with it on The Flash. While the show has only been going on for a couple episodes, there is already some kind of weird ship-war about the Iris/Barry/Caitlin thing, but this seems to be rather balanced out, with more people probably jumping to the Iris and Barry thing later on, especially when Ronnie comes back.
Anyway, what I am trying to say is that while we probably won't see another Green Arrow/Black Canary relationship (because they kinda had it with Sara/Ollie), we will see the Barry/Iris relationship play out, instead. Let TPTB have their comic book pre-new52 canon on The Flash and go with something new on Arrow.
Not sure you know this, but Ray Palmer is meant to become The Atom - a superhero. That being said, his actions seem a little off, if the situation's taken in the context of reality, whereas on the tv show its meant to come off more adorable/quirky, not entirely sure its coming across as quirky though to some, just seems well dodgy. Yet seeing as how - knowing who his character's meant to become - he's all-in-all supposed to be a good guy...
They're (the writers) just giving Felicity an exact opposite of Oliver. Where Oliver is reserved and holding things in, Ray just blurts shit out, has no boundaries with Felicity and feels comfortable enough to do the things he's doing. Ray and Oliver are complete polar opposites and it sort of posing the question to Felicity "You wanted transparency, openness, and a willingness to be intimate. A life outside the cave. Well here it is - Seeing it, knowing its there, will you choose that life over Oliver?"
You actually think they're doing the same as the comics? I mean... he is tied to a train rail... I just hope they don't do the "i die with you my lovey dovey" to defeat her Jajaja Laurel is not BC, Felicity isn't on the field... Is he going to cuddle with Dig? xD
Everyone on this show have or had multiple love interests... DIggle had Lyla and Carly, Oliver had Shado, Laurel, McKenna, Sara, Helena and now Felicity, Sara had Nyssa and Oliver, Laurel had Oliver, Tommy, Sebastian Blood, the Orphan Black dude I don't remember the name and possibly Ted Grant... even Moira had Malcolm and Robert! I don't get why Felicity have to be such a prude...
I actually think that they give Merlyn the Dark Arrow arc and turn Cupid into his sidekick.since they can't really introduce a shapeshifting monster that loses it's memory and thinks its Oliver Queen and thus takes advantage of Cupids love for "him"
I don't get the creepy/stalkerish vibe everyone else sees in Ray Palmer. I think he is a super nerd and sees Felicity as someone that he can connect with on that sort of level. His social skills might not be the best but again I put it down to him being so focused on work and not having a life outside of that. The fact that he has a dress that fits her is slightly concerning. But the episode summary says that he asks her to be his date because it's a work thing. I get an Edward Louis/Pretty Woman vibe from his actions. He doesn't need the emotional entanglements but he needs her to help him sell their product. This episode does have Cupid and Ollie isn't buying what she's selling so I think Ray is hit with some hallucinogen that encourages the kiss. Once it wears off they could be back to business as usual!!!
I will agree Ray's behavior in episode 1 and 2 was really stalkery. Imo I think what writers are trying to do here is to show us how different Ray is from Oliver. Vigilanteism was forced upon Oliver and due to his tragic past and his job Oliver always sacrifices his happiness and relationships. Oliver badly wants to be in a relationship with Felicity but he sacrified that for being Arrow.
Now this is pure speculation I believe Ray also will have a tragic past due to which he is trying hard to save Starling City. I also think he has some plans going on to take up vigilanteism to protect the city. Ray is the kind of person who single mindedly goes behind what he wants. As shown in episode 1 & 2 by hiring Felicity. If he becomes Atom and fall for Felicity unlike Oliver he may pursue a relationship with her inspite of his night job. Thus showing Oliver he can be Arrow and Oliver Queen together.
Or I can be completely wrong. Ray might be the creepiest creeper ever and will totally exploit Felicity for her skills, betray her and turn completely evil. My predictions usually never becomes right so who knows?
They should have used Robbie Amell to play Everyman xD You can see the likeness and he wouldn't need the shape shifting ability... Jon pointed out he was mentioned in the notebook on Season 1... He is out there...
yeah but another archer being introduced will be a little much IMO. We have Oliver, Roy, Malcolm, Nyssa, Cupid and Komodo already. There's only so much place for archers. I actually hope that they transfer Bates to the Flash for a future crossover and actually have him on as a shapeshifter
which further proves how double standards ruin hollywood.
in any case, as much as i love the show, arrow is a show with female problems. all the ladies on the show are defined by their relationship to oliver and not because they are characters on their own. felicity was an exception to that and as much as i want them to get together, now she is a romantic interest to various characters. so in an ironic way i am happy that the show doesn't want to further deepen this problem by making the ladies go shirtless in their scenes.
Oops. Mis used the term "high horse" here. English is not my first language. I just googled the term. Ouch. Sorry!!. Really didn't mean that way. I sincerely apologize. Thank you for letting me know. *virtual hugs??*
Except that there are just as many fans who don't want to see Oliver and Felicity together as those who do want Olicity to be the endgame. Just because they Olicity shippers are vocal doesn't mean they are in the majority.
Uhhh! That would be really cool! It's a great, GREAT idea! I really like what Flash brings to Arrow. It also made a necesity for Oliver to go more Tech Savvy in order to fight him(tracer arrows, expanding bow, etc).
And you're right. I was very pleased with Thea's choice of weapon and how they showed Nyssa using a blade on 3x04.
Please don't bring out Komodo... I'm still not over how they kill a good option for a Big Bad. They killed my head-canon of Komodo/The Outsiders(Season 4) and Checkmate(Season 5).
I think his behaviour was stalkery but he never ever did a single remark about her looks or insinuated anything sexual between him and Felicity. Seems to me like he's business all the time, so I can cut him some slack on showing up to her house (he was seriously all about work on that scene) or buying a chain of stores to hire her. Maybe he was only interested in her work at the time and things escalated from there... (That's the way I see it, at least) People are bias because they want Olicity together and they can't handle the angst.
I really don't think that Ray is going to be evil, if they wanted a evil guy they would never pick the Atom. Just pick a villain or write a original character, I don't think DC would allow them to turn a hero into a villain like that. I think he'll have some plans that maybe Oliver is not going to agree to, but nothing essentially evil. Anyway, I'm also never right on those things...
The Flash is the perfect show to use villains that require sci-fi gadgets while Arrow is perfect for more grounded bad guys.
Both shows really help each other!
Yeah, I feel you. I had my own idea for Simon before his introduction (basically his father was the guy that got killed by Robert, Simon was shipped off to an ancient tribe and learned archery there and returns to take down the Queen legacy. Since they can't introduce the Arrow clans on this show) but what they did was SO bad -,-
I do think however that they ultimately went and mixed Komodo/Merlyn
Komodo in the comics: rich, had a strong former friendship with Robert Merlyn in the comics: assassin for hire
Komodo on Arrow: assassin for hire Merlyn on Arrow: rich, had a strong former friendship with Robert
Lacroix was awesome! One of the best things about The New 52, imo(with Katana).
But you're kind of right. In the end he would seem too much like Malcolm.
I really wanted a grounded version of the Clans. They could be secret societies and the totems could easily be just that(no powers, no nothing), and the Green Arrow could be something to actually give Oliver the name, once and for all. Maybe using Oliver's son instead of Emiko. It could be pulled.
One of my problems is that "what is bigger than Ra's al Ghul and can be grounded on reality?". Remember they can't use any Batman villain because of Gotham(Ra's is now a wider villain). That's why i tought of The Clans and Checkmate.
Yep I know all this and I don't think Ray is going to be evil or an abuser or anything. I need to shut my brain off and remember that this is a superhero tv show and things are exaggerated and emphasised and taken to extremes. I can't help red flags going up because of the work I do in real life but like I said, it's a tv show. I need to breathe. :)
Spoiler Alert. During Flash crossover Felicity's shirt gets on fire and Barry Allen removes it. Cisco and Caitlin walks in on them. So shirtless Felicity is coming.
You know what i was thinking? The title is "draw back your bow"... What if it means Oliver Queen drawing back his bow as "I'm letting myself be Oliver Queen". We now know Oliver is mainly only on flashbacks on episodes 10, 11 and 12.
So they could do the get together for 2 episodes and then he "dies" on 3x09, only to came back on 3x12 and drag that drama a bit more so they get together on the Finale.
What you think about that? Stephen said the best Olicity scene was on the next 3 episodes and whatever it is, it has to top the dinner.. since it was his favourite before.
At the threat to be seen as a total jackass... Why do you wanna see Thea on a bra? She doesn't have boobs... she's like a cardbox. I think her best feature are her eyes and her legs. Felicity's ass is something out of this world, yet EBR looks like a girl who could live next to my house. Then Laurel is this beautiful type of girl that you only see on an ad on Time Square.
You wanna see someone's boobs? Try Sara's.
Before all of you hate me... I'm mentioning the girl's best features... I'm trying to do it the most polite way xD
Seriously, that's the beauty of a good tv show, when it can make fans feel something - good, bad, extreme, whackadoodle - doesn't matter, it shows a level of appreciation for the work being done. When a show can illicit an assortment of emotions from its fanbase, its a good thing, coz it shows people care. Keep feeling how you're feeling, keep venting (Lord knows I have lol) We ALL need our escapes from the real world and how shitty it can be sometimes, never be restricting in your opinions :)
that image with him standing over Olli and breaking his bow is still frightening IMO he sure was a creepy villain but I guess if we called Merlyn Lacroix instead no one would mind because it would still kind of fit
I could see the clans becoming a part of the flashbacks next season but not a present day threat.
sorry, this might be a long one now but here's my idea list
Season 4.1 - Oliver ends up taken down and locked up in a underwater supermax, a giant city-esque facility that harbours the worlds worst criminals. Over the course of 11 episodes we see Oliver team up with Merlyn to escape this hellhole while fighting off old enemies and pretty much taking the giant facility appart until they have to face Barricade, the warden. In the meantime Felicity and Roy track down Olivers whereabouts while Laurel/Diggle keep Starlings streets clean.
Season 4.2 Oliver is back, left Malcolm behind and has to face the consequences of a 15 meter fall. As Prometheus, a masked and well trained villain starts to tear Starlings justice system appart the team has to step up. But as criminals decide to follow Prometheus a war is threatening to break out. With Oliver weakened the team has to step their game up to take down Prometheus and his many followers.
Season 5.1 Wallner snapped, the revolution Prometheus and his follwers started, caused her to fire a drone that actually detonated. Thousands are dead and the town lies in ruin. Waller covers her actions up and puts the town under siege, no electicity, no connection to the world outside. Oliver/Diggle/Laurel go up against the threatening forces Argus has to offer. Felicity, in the possession of evidence for Wallers crime, attempts to take the information to a non-Argus controlled goverment facility. She's aided by Roy on her quest
Season 5.2 Waller is dead, the Suicide Squad free and everyone works hand in hand to rebuild Starling. Felicity and Roy however, never returned from their quest. Both of them awake on Lian Yiu, no weapons and no way to defend themselves. On the island they encounter Deathstroke, free of his chains he swears to kill both but is giving them a one-day advantage. Oliver/Diggle/Laurel obviously try to find them only to realize that all this has been orchestrated by Merlyn, Slade and Count Vertigo to finally eliminate Team Arrow once and for all, a personal fight. During the seasons run we see Oliver and Laurel put recurring villains to justice once and for all. And in the final episode we have the final battles: Thea/Cheshire vs. Merlyn, Oliver vs. Slade, Roy vs. Vertigo and Laurel vs. Huntress.
I saw it on tumblr. Some one posted a guys tweet. Greg Berlanti attended an event yesterday where sneak peek or promo of crossover episode was shown. Don't know how legitimate the post is. I will try to get the source.
Just to clarify, you didn't use the idiom wrong. It is probably used teasingly just as often as seriously. Since enjoying shirtless men is low brow entertainment, you gave the high ground to Koky--it wasn't an insult when I read it, it was a compliment making Koky better than the rest of us who might enjoy shirtless men too much.
Oh, God! EBR is the one i like the most... It just that she has a "girl next door" vibe on her. Willa and Katie, both have this "model air" around them.
Willa? She seems more like "that chick you meet at Dub Assembly, take back home and wake up the next morning with her already being gone without having left her phone number"
this happened....I swear the girl looked just like her....my life is sad
I see you really went for the action there... I would like a more "character driven" show. That would be a very serialized show under constant action.
Would you actually bring Prometheus on board? Someone wants to see someone without an arm Jajajajaja
I love when the characters share a bonding scene or just a talk on bed, these small little things. I'm all in on the action and set pieces, but i also like the character's relationships.
For what you described, we already have comics.
I always tought Season 5 would lead to an inevitable battle against ARGUS. Maybe on Season 5A they fight Waller and the Task Force X, then on Season 5B, Maxwell Lord comes on board and plans an attack. Team Arrow + Waller with the Suicide Squad fight Lord's Checkmate(Killing Ray Palmer). Flashbacks would be on Rusia.
If Gotham is cancelled i would love to see Hugo Strange as a main villain and maybe making him the one who gives the Venom to a younger Bane(late twentyes/early thirties). They are two of my all time favourites and my uncle told me there was this theory that Hugo was the one that gives it to him on the comics.
I think the show will last more than 5 Seasons... I think on Season 6 the show will be re-branded Green Arrow and it will be more "Justice League related" with One year arcs of bad guys and the League teaming up.
I'm seeing a Arrow Season 12, Flash Season 10 and Stargirl Season 9... On the Series Finale, the whole Justice League fights a version of The Crime Syndicate.
Unless we get 100% confirmation that Lazarus Pits exist in the Arrowverse, Tommy is out.
Hmm, yeah. Felicity said the shooter was of less than average height. - Add that to those who used voice software on the "Hello Sara" line to determine it's a female shooter. - Would go well with Sara recognizing her killer too.
And while Sin in the comcis was a 9 year old Asian girl she did have a connection to the League. That could also play into Guggenheim saying they're currently settling things with Caity Lotz for her 3rd contracted episode.
You know, Guggenheim said something weird. He said Tommy was gonna come back, in a way no one expected. Same with Sara. And i'm a huge Tommy fan and i loved the Tommy/Laurel relationship.
Sure that Tommy thing wasn't just refering to him showing up in Hong Kong?
Because once they start bringing people actually back from the dead (Sara's season 2 survival was already stretching it), they might as well go full metahuman with Flash. Then that supposed "realistic tone" goes out the door.
I just saw this! Sorry for the late reply lol and I can't help it. I'm very defensive when it comes to Felicity Smoak. Especially the ones that tend to blame Felicity for everything just because her character has seen a lot of success and appraise.
I'm going to remain optimistic and say that there's a good chance they will :) I think that they have the possibility of having the healthiest relationship on the show (bar Digg/Lyla because they're not really on screen that much) and I'd much rather see that than Oliver go through hoards of women or go back to Laurel (they literally bring out the worst in each other... Last episode sort of proved that to me).
For me, I'd like the writers to finally get Oliver/Felicity together, have them be happy and focus on the other good stuff like the action, the villains, other characters... I feel like that would work well for me. And if there's a bit of drama in between then that's cool too, just as long as it's not petty or ridiculous or anything that regresses the characters.
Idk, if Brandon Routh wasn't so damn charming or good looking, everyone would be wanting Felicity to get a restraining order on Ray by now. So him having no boundaries or being absent minded isn't really an excuse for me. Because truly, nothing excuses his behavior for the first two episodes and him barging into Felicity's house with forewarning. :/ I hope they up the charm because damn I'm gonna need it if they ever want me to root for Felicity/Ray.
I loved Sara and was devastated by her death. But I don't want them to bring either Sara or Tommy back. Because unlike Malcolm whose body Oliver simply left there we saw Tommy and Sara clearly die in the show and their bodies. Even using Lazarus pits to revive them will be stretching things. Also Laurel's journey is solely dependent on Sara's death. I don't want that progress become obsolete.
There is no need to root for Ray/Felicity. I don't think the writers are hoping Olicity fans or any kind of fans to start a new ship and ship war. The point of Ray/Felicity relationship is to show Felicity she has other choices than Oliver Queen and to show Oliver he can't keep Felicity in a limbo forever.
Most importantly it's his plans which is going to be most important story wise.
Who cares whom Oliver ends up with at the end of the series and what happens after the show ends. I hope they don't move Felicity to The Flash not because of any ship. I can see that show running for long time by the looks of it. I want EBR to get out after Arrow ends and do other shows. She is too young to be tied down to one role for years.
God, Felicity is just too gorgeous for words. I love that woman so much. And Oliver better hurry up and get Felicity back before Ray has a chance with her. Looks like he has some competition! Also, Cupid looks to be such an interesting villain! I think she's my most anticipated villain of the season so far. Nice abs, Ray. So jealous :P
Ray Palmer shirtless...mmmhum. Now there is a man in Felicity's circle that surely will turn Oliver pea green. I am still an Olicity fan yet maybe a long hot fling between Ray and Felicity will show Oliver what poor choice he had made by existing instead of living.
Im not a big fan of Ray Palmer so Felicity going out on a date with him does not sit well with me, Olicity all the way and if this doesnt wake him up then i dont know, how many frogs does my girl have to kiss before her prince shows up to the party!!
I also think that this relationship is not going anywhere, but I'm not entirely sure. I also like to see Felicity interact with other male characters like Diggle, Detective Lance... But there is something about Ray that I don't like for Felicity. Maybe I'm wrong and he's a good man, but his way of acting is strange. I don't like Ray's confidence with Felicity. In real life, no boss takes such liberties with her employee unless he wants sex. And I don't exaggerate what I say, there are hundreds of cases in real life, for women and men. Maybe I'm wrong and Ray is falling in love with Felicity Smoak. But I doubt it very much for the short time between them. Also, I'm sick of producers promoting Olicity each week to ensure good ratings and then nothing happens between them and maybe we have something between Felicity/Ray. I'm pissed that producers say that Olicity will happen this season but then they change their minds and they lose respect to their fans. If Olicity it's going to happen it must happens with all its consequences, but they don't need to give false hopes to the fans who love this couple, perhaps when Felicity will be with Ray first. I like the Slow burn but I don't like being lied to. We'll see how this relationship continues.
Its sorta like what happened with Clark and Chloe on Smallville. Everyone, including me, wanted them to end up together but he ended up with Lois which was totally fine. If Laurel was as fun-loving and funny as Lois I wouldn't really mind Oliver ending up with her but Laurel is too much like Lana, who a majority wanted gone after the first season.
LOL sorry I didn't express myself properly. I didn't really mean root for as in want them to go long term, I meant, I want to watch them without cringing.
Also, I don't find Ray to be trustworthy? IDK why, he just seems too good to be true. I would love to find out his end game.
Even I am not sure he is trust worthy. I have this feeling he is using Felicity and her talents to build something maybe some tech oriented suit. But I don't agree he is creepy in a sexual way as people are implying. Till now nothing he has done has pointed that way. He was always interested in her brains, QC and Starling City. As an alternate choice for Felicity, Ray is okay because we know she will never choose him in the end.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Palmer shirtless with Felicity......hmm
ReplyDeleteSOMEBODY HOLD ME. EMILY IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. BABY GIRL IS KILLING IT IN BLUE.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing Cupid, Team Arrow in the van, and that blue dress. Everything else not so much. Next week we'll be almost a third of the way through the season and Arrow still hasn't given me a reason to care about Ray Palmer at all.
ReplyDeleteI love cupid! But Ray and Felicity? NO! Thanks... They don´t even have a romantic chemistry. Ray looks like a stalker and there is something about him that I don´t like.
ReplyDeleteanyone having troubling click photo for bigger view.......it really slow
ReplyDeletesuddenly EVERYONE wants Felicity! urgh, i hate when that happens in shows. I love her, she's my favorite, but she's like Sookie from True Blood now?!
ReplyDeletetotally agree!! like he even has a dress in his closet that fits her perfectly? CREEPY!!
ReplyDeletenah, she's not a hypocrite like Sookie was and she isn't playing people. However I do agree that the constant attraction from characters towards her direction is growing more than annoying.
ReplyDeleteThe more popular a fan favourite gets the more guys fall for them....and for some reason most computer hackers turn into fan favs
Meh she's not bring pedestaled so I see no problem.
ReplyDeleteIt´s true, yeah! Very very creepy! :S
ReplyDeletewell...it's weird that he even has A DRESS in his closet.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that it's Felicitys size only adds to it
But we don't know yet in what context that is, he could have let it fit for her for some ball they're going to.
well...the fandom is, the writers are on the verge to put her on one
ReplyDeleteI look at a that photo and all I can see is Felicity's glorious behind. Oh there is a shirtless guy standing there. But still what a back!!! You make me question my sexuality lady!!
ReplyDeleteI mean, but still, not even my family knows my size, let alone my boss to have a dress in my size and have it casually hanging in his closet.
ReplyDeleteI liked the idea of Ray but for some reason (I don't think it's Brandon's portrayal but it kinda is) he just gives off the wrong vibes.
Maybe he'll grown on me when he is able to grow smaller in size.
I think it's the classic "obstacle" thinking, people feel positive towards a relationship and subconciously despise anything in it's way.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that he's creepy, not more than Oliver or Felicity. Oliver constantly showed up in her office to ask her for odd favours and Felicity well...is kind of obsessive towards Oliver. Only that people see the actions from these two as "romantic" and "dreamy" whereas Ray being weird is counted as "creepy". It's all a subject of personal bias and perception
it IS her best feature, no shame to admit that,
ReplyDeleteI actually thought Routh was sporting a sixpack, didn't think he was so skinny (not judging, only confused because of his rather wide physique)
I don't find him creepy. I found him stalkery a bit in first two episodes. But later on I get a vibe that he is an inventor who is a bit absent minded with no sense of propriety.
ReplyDeleteshe may finally do what we always wanted: slit Merlyns throat and force Barrowman to go all ham on us in his almost-death scene.
ReplyDelete"Oh, what gruesome end do I have to meet" *dramatic head swing towards Oliver
"All I ever wanted was make a better world for thee" *reaches his hand to Thea
"And ye, my beloved" *drops dead dramatically
I don't think he is skinny. I think he is too tall the proportions are a bit off.
ReplyDeleteDoc Brown-esque. Exactly, he's a weird guy.
ReplyDeleteBut in no way more creepy than any of the characters with such attributes that are considered "cute"
ReplyDeleteevery superhero we meet.
ReplyDeleteThe Flash, check
The Atom, check
Green Arrow, check
no, i totally get your point and i am totally biased, but oliver didn't just randomly show up in her apartment after knowing her for only a few weeks- it was her office which is a public space.
ReplyDeleteI am unable to load spoiler tv images. Head onto greenarrowtv.com. The pictures are easily loading there.
ReplyDeletebut he did show up multiple times, when a girl, completely unrelated to my business, shows up more than four times at my desk and asks me for odd stuff I might have to change my phone number...or probably move away alltogether
ReplyDeleteBeing the catalyst for that moment would instantly make her my favorite character on the show.
ReplyDeleteWhat's your point? Felicity is a beautiful, intelligent single female. As a straight women, I would fall in love with her too. I honestly WOULDN'T believe it if Ray Palmer did't have any feelings for Felicity considering she's just his type.
ReplyDeletewell he did survive that incident though, only getting a rougher voice
ReplyDeletei guess we can agree both are (oliver and ray) actions that no boss/superior should take against their employees.
ReplyDeleteAs long as he brings the ham then it's all good.
ReplyDeleteyou asked for Amandas definition for "everyone" I gave it to you.
ReplyDeleteAnd that said: I agree, she`s a hot piece of ass but so what? People have different tastes and not everyone shares interest in the same type. Apparently our superheroes do.
It's just a classic television trope, the nerdy girl is usually the main interest of the dreamy guys. It's not an issue of mine but certainly a fairly obvious way to bury characters on us
he was way bulkier when he was superman. but yeah, he is too tall and the photo is taken at a weird angle.
ReplyDeleteyeah, and she semi-fell for both so I guess in this universe stalking ins't too much of an issue....or on theCW in general
ReplyDeleteFelicity looks gorgeous and look at those abs. Hubba Hubby 😍
ReplyDeleteoh well, all he needs is more drama.
ReplyDeleteI love his overacting but we haven't had enough of this in season 3 so far.
ReplyDeleteSo Ray Palmer has a version of Sally the Salmon Ladder.
LOL
I agree. :)
ReplyDeletePalmer shirtless it was bound to happen wasn't lol
ReplyDeleteWell Amanda also said suddenly and as I explained, it wasn't suddenly.
ReplyDeleteI think people are just shocked that it's all happening this season because we've seen Felicity without any loving for a whole 2 years and this isn't her fault.
ReplyDeleteThis thread is taking a very weird and might I add uncomfortable turn lol
ReplyDeletepretty sure CW puts that in the contracts of the actors appearing on the show.
ReplyDeleteAn advice... don't bother talking Felicity with him... xD
ReplyDeleteIf Wildcat ends up being a love interest for Laurel she will have the same amount of love interests as Felicity. Wich is fine, they're both beautiful womans.
It's not like it came out of nowhere. And the Barry thing, calling it something is kind of a streach.
thumbs up for proving that you love to undermine others opinions
ReplyDeleteClark Kent next?
ReplyDeleteWell no, it didn't come up all of a sudden, still I agree that the idea of that happening is odd these days for your mentioned reasons.
ReplyDeleteHowever Ray appears to have had his head full of a lot (dare I say too many) of stuff, I do think there's a romantical aspect to things.
There should've been more developement on that part though
Ha, joke's on you, he already did :P
ReplyDeletethen I demand my Thea shirtless scene! ;P
ReplyDeleteoh yes, I can't wait for it.
ReplyDeleteBarrowman amazes me, he's not a "good" actor but delivers such enjoyable ham. He's like William Shatner
Thea is already wearing a midriff bearing shirt every episode. What more do you want?
ReplyDeleteher shirts are getting shorter and shorter, i'm sure it's on its way.
ReplyDeletewell...I've been trying VERY hard to forget that movie. Not that I didn't like it, it suffered from overlength though.
ReplyDeleteI still firmly believe if they cut the movie down to 80 minutes it would've been a short but more exciting movie.
I don't remember his physique in that one though.
He did however look bulkier in Dylan Dog (a movie I recomend every fan of supernatural comedies to watch)
Thea, in a bra....despite the probably disaproving father
ReplyDeleteI want moaaar
But seriously, how come there are so many hot chicks on that show but the only people showing skin are men? Not that I bother, shows me every day that others look better than me and pushes my ego down.
But come on...
I still stand by Ray not seeing her as a woman lmao All that man talks about is QC this and QC that. He sleeps at QC and walked into Felicity's apartment in the morning to discuss QC.
ReplyDeleteand it's only odd because Felicity was single for the two years we've seen her but who's to say she wasn't getting hit on during her weekends? and although she is a "nerd", she doesn't dress like one.
ReplyDeleteHe was also in 'Table for Three'... now that's one movie I'm trying to forget BECAUSE IT WAS HORRIBLE.
Hey.. Last season you had Sara and her girls.. Huntress in a strip club when was that episode season 1 or season 2??
ReplyDeletegiven the statistics about the ratio of women being naked/topless in hollywood in comparison to men (like 4 women for every men, or even higher) , i am actually thankful to arrow that they are making the men the eye-candy and not the ladies.
ReplyDeleteoh storyline wise it was pretty damn amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe way Singer managed to create a sequel to the 80s franchise was impresive alone.
ReplyDeleteSo, is Ray buying her a dress (literally picking out what she is going to wear) and giving her expensive jewellery, is that worrisome/controlling behaviour? Are we pushing 50 Shades of Grey territory again here?
If a dude did that for me in my own life, it would raise some flags. But this is TV and like I said, I don't think I can be object. Any one?
Cmon how long has it been since we got shirless dude and salmon ladder. I believe when last season Oliver was sexing up Sara. It's long overdue.
ReplyDeleteFirst the fandom isn't the writers Mac, as I've said countless times.
ReplyDeleteIt was actually a sarcastic comment, said on a funny intent... I'm that way. Sorry if you took it as an statement. :)
ReplyDeleteYou have a strong opinion... i actually respect a lot your opinions here. It's something you strongly believe.
we have no idea of the context
ReplyDeleteshe could tell him of a dress she lost years ago and misses it and, in a romantic move, he buys her a similar one
or Ray loves to dress like a chick on weekends and has a leftover dress for Felicity
Well that's true, Sara was probably as much eyecandy as I will get if Thea keeps sporting shirts ;)
ReplyDeleteWe have to see to know the context of the situation. As long as Felicity is not feeling forced there is no need to feel uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't put it past him, most of his actions are creepy and stalkery besides the man has o boundaries, but somehow the show wants us to see it as quirky and adorable and romantic!!!!
ReplyDeleteMoS was such a let down for me even though I loved all the actors and the look of it.
ReplyDeleteI liked what they were getting with the back story and the introduction was really great, but the movie lost its footing after some 1.5 hours. And it should have been 2 hours long at most.
I don't think I've watched Routh in anything apart from these two... well, except Chuck. And also he had a pretty horrible sitcom 2 seasons ago that got canceled immediately?
You wanna see what Felicity pedestaling is like read Olicity fan fiction. That is pedestaling. It's nauseating.
ReplyDeleteYou want me to have a stroke, right? :P
ReplyDeleteit is really worrisome given he is her direct supervisor.
ReplyDeleteRay as a weekend dragsta. There's a mental image that will never leave me. Thanks. :)
ReplyDeleteYou see that's not what I consider pedestaling, because Mrs. Gilbert may be the focus of every guy in MF but isn't talked highly about. The only guy that ever did that was Elijah.
ReplyDeleteDamon on the other hand is a straight out jerk.
Sorry man, I'm pretty defensive these days ^^
ReplyDeleteI however needs to stay on that: I love Felicity, hate the way she's utilized.
FELECETEEH!!
ReplyDeleteI agree on context. But I think the writers think that this behaviour is okay/romantic/cute, so I don't expect Felicity to be written as uncomfortable. Ray's behaviour from the beginning has made me uneasy but like I said, I watch with Olicity tinted glasses, so what do I know? :)
ReplyDeleteI loved the flashbacks and the way they attempted to make us relive Clark growing up through them but many parts just didn't work.
ReplyDeleteJonathan literally turning into Mr.
ReplyDeleteNo worries... Well, i get what you mean, but here is my way of thinking about that(i'm about to do a serious talk here, don't be scared).
ReplyDelete1) The Barry thing this Season was only to make someone go to The Flash without feeling forced.
ReplyDeleteYou see, I disagree there, Ray is obsolete if it's about a triangle. They already have Laurel, aka. third wheel.
ReplyDeleteIf they want a triangle they could go with her, simply because she's hate already anyway
Ray is there for a reason, not to cause romance drama but to evolve into a hero utilized on both Flash/Arrow/whatevershowcomesnext.
And the only point Amanda made was the fact that every hero we met falls for her.
And at some point Firestorm will come into play, no way they're not going to use that opportunity (Felicity was a Firestorm character when introduced)
bring Stephen Moyer to Arrow and let him say that only once <3
ReplyDeleteSo Felicity being a hacker and useful to Team Arrow, and now actually getting her own plot is pedestaling to you? Common on Mac that's ridiculous. She's not any focal point.
ReplyDeleteLol. The sad part is shit like that actually does exist.
ReplyDeleteThat's not accurate, FYI. For example they don't count a shirtless man as being equal to a shirtless woman. It's been a while since I read it but I am also pretty sure they don't count man butt as nudity either(they dismissed it as "comedic nudity").
ReplyDeleteOh get off that high horse and enjoy shirless men with us.
ReplyDeleteno but being the person of interest.
ReplyDeleteShe is a focal character, let's not undermine her importance here Grayson, she's more than important, she's an essential part of the show.
ReplyDeleteVery stoked for Cupid, she seems like such a campy villain, I love it.
I stayed away from fanfiction ever since someone linked me to a SPN fanfiction that in the very first sentence started with Sam/Dean sex
ReplyDeleteI patiently sit through Laurel's incompetence always hoping her redemption is a scene or episode away.
ReplyDeleteDon't jump me Olicity fans, but I don't thinkthat the show will end with Oliver/Felicity.
ReplyDeleteIf there's one thing the writers have been consistent with it's actually the GA myth.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little hurt by that high horse remark I wasn't being judgmental and if it sounded that way it certainly wasn't my intent.
ReplyDeleteOh, i know! I was refering just to the Ray/Felicity part of the character... If he becomes "The Blue Beetle version of The Atom" it's that character's own story. For Felicity he is her boss and her love interest.
ReplyDeleteThe writers are trying to make the viewers like Laurel...
Nancy-pantsing goes way up with gloves....that line gave me the best laugh after a crappy day!!!! Lol
ReplyDeleteSee, as much as the writers respect and love their comic book lore, I think the fandom's general, for lack of a better word, obsession with Felicity and the Oliver/Felcity relationship will dictate with whom Oliver will end up with.
ReplyDeleteI could see them not going with the canon comic relationship on Arrow, but rather go with it on The Flash.
Let TPTB have their comic book pre-new52 canon on The Flash and go with something new on Arrow.
damn, sorry man, was typing too fast
ReplyDeleteif it's like that, I agree. She's not pedestaled
ReplyDeleteThey're (the writers) just giving Felicity an exact opposite of Oliver.
Is he going to cuddle with Dig? xD
ReplyDeleteEveryone on this show have or had multiple love interests...
ReplyDeleteDIggle had Lyla and Carly, Oliver had Shado, Laurel, McKenna, Sara, Helena and now Felicity, Sara had Nyssa and Oliver, Laurel had Oliver, Tommy, Sebastian Blood, the Orphan Black dude I don't remember the name and possibly Ted Grant... even Moira had Malcolm and Robert! I don't get why Felicity have to be such a prude...
nah, it'd be fun though
ReplyDeleteI actually think that they give Merlyn the Dark Arrow arc and turn Cupid into his sidekick.since they can't really introduce a shapeshifting monster that loses it's memory and thinks its Oliver Queen and thus takes advantage of Cupids love for "him"
I don't get the creepy/stalkerish vibe everyone else sees in Ray Palmer.
ReplyDeleteI will agree Ray's behavior in episode 1 and 2 was really stalkery.
ReplyDeleteNow this is pure speculation I believe Ray also will have a tragic past due to which he is trying hard to save Starling City.
I agree completely...
ReplyDeleteThey should have used Robbie Amell to play Everyman xD You can see the likeness and he wouldn't need the shape shifting ability... Jon pointed out he was mentioned in the notebook on Season 1... He is out there...
ReplyDeleteyeah but another archer being introduced will be a little much IMO.
ReplyDeleteWe have Oliver, Roy, Malcolm, Nyssa, Cupid and Komodo already. There's only so much place for archers.
I actually hope that they transfer Bates to the Flash for a future crossover and actually have him on as a shapeshifter
which further proves how double standards ruin hollywood.
ReplyDeletein any case, as much as i love the show, arrow is a show with female problems. all the ladies on the show are defined by their relationship to oliver and not because they are characters on their own. felicity was an exception to that and as much as i want them to get together, now she is a romantic interest to various characters.
so in an ironic way i am happy that the show doesn't want to further deepen this problem by making the ladies go shirtless in their scenes.
Oops. Mis used the term "high horse" here. English is not my first language. I just googled the term. Ouch. Sorry!!. Really didn't mean that way. I sincerely apologize. Thank you for letting me know. *virtual hugs??*
ReplyDeleteExcept that there are just as many fans who don't want to see Oliver and Felicity together as those who do want Olicity to be the endgame. Just because they Olicity shippers are vocal doesn't mean they are in the majority.
ReplyDeleteUhhh! That would be really cool! It's a great, GREAT idea! I really like what Flash brings to Arrow. It also made a necesity for Oliver to go more Tech Savvy in order to fight him(tracer arrows, expanding bow, etc).
ReplyDeleteAnd you're right.
ReplyDeleteI really don't think that Ray is going to be evil, if they wanted a evil guy they would never pick the Atom.
ReplyDeleteBoth shows really help each other!
Komodo in the comics: rich, had a strong former friendship with Robert
Merlyn in the comics: assassin for hire
Komodo on Arrow: assassin for hire
Merlyn on Arrow: rich, had a strong former friendship with Robert
That is a very good way to describe him.
ReplyDeleteThe Flash--turned her down. The Arrow--turned her down. Arsenal couldn't care less. None of the bad guys have really cared..
ReplyDeleteThe poor girl has been single for three seasons. Even Diggle's had two love interests in that time frame. Give the girl a little loving.
And anyone who likes her...don't forget you hate all of them too :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is not a television trope. The closest you might come is makeover romantic comedies, but the nerdy girl never gets all the guys.
ReplyDeleteLacroix was awesome! One of the best things about The New 52, imo(with Katana).
ReplyDeleteBut you're kind of right.
ReplyDeleteSpoiler Alert. During Flash crossover Felicity's shirt gets on fire and Barry Allen removes it. Cisco and Caitlin walks in on them. So shirtless Felicity is coming.
ReplyDeleteYou know what i was thinking? The title is "draw back your bow"... What if it means Oliver Queen drawing back his bow as "I'm letting myself be Oliver Queen". We now know Oliver is mainly only on flashbacks on episodes 10, 11 and 12.
ReplyDeleteSo they could do the get together for 2 episodes and then he "dies" on 3x09, only to came back on 3x12 and drag that drama a bit more so they get together on the Finale.
What you think about that? Stephen said the best Olicity scene was on the next 3 episodes and whatever it is, it has to top the dinner.. since it was his favourite before.
No worries English isn't my first language either so I understand, *virtual hugging you back lol
ReplyDeleteApparently people think I'm a snob haha
I like that theory very much.
ReplyDeleteThe CW, in general, has a lot of problems with female characters. Which is surprising considering their main demographic.
ReplyDeleteOMG now I get why Oliver is pissed , he saw Palmer working out on SALMON LADDER :p
ReplyDeleteGood one lol, really Ray you stole the Oliver's company and now his girl, at least leave him the Salmon Ladder.
ReplyDeleteYou're pulling our legs right? Is that an actual spoiler from the crossover??
ReplyDeleteThe "Draw back your bow" is a reference to the Sam Cooke song called "Cupid"
ReplyDelete"Cupid, draw back your bow and let your arrow go"
At the threat to be seen as a total jackass...
ReplyDeleteYou wanna see someone's boobs? Try Sara's.
Before all of you hate me... I'm mentioning the girl's best features... I'm trying to do it the most polite way xD
Yes it is Jajaja Is that "awkward moment" no one would buy on real life. That kind of things never happen xD
ReplyDeleteWay to kill the mood, man Jajajaja
ReplyDelete*puts away empty bucket of cold water*
ReplyDeleteSeriously, that's the beauty of a good tv show, when it can make fans feel something - good, bad, extreme, whackadoodle - doesn't matter, it shows a level of appreciation for the work being done.
ReplyDeletethat image with him standing over Olli and breaking his bow is still frightening IMO
ReplyDeletehe sure was a creepy villain but I guess if we called Merlyn Lacroix instead no one would mind because it would still kind of fit
I could see the clans becoming a part of the flashbacks next season but not a present day threat.
sorry, this might be a long one now but here's my idea list
Season 4.1 -
Oliver ends up taken down and locked up in a underwater supermax, a giant city-esque facility that harbours the worlds worst criminals.
Season 4.2
Oliver is back, left Malcolm behind and has to face the consequences of a 15 meter fall. As Prometheus, a masked and well trained villain starts to tear Starlings justice system appart the team has to step up. But as criminals decide to follow Prometheus a war is threatening to break out. With Oliver weakened the team has to step their game up to take down Prometheus and his many followers.
Season 5.1
Wallner snapped, the revolution Prometheus and his follwers started, caused her to fire a drone that actually detonated.
Season 5.2
Waller is dead, the Suicide Squad free and everyone works hand in hand to rebuild Starling.
ReplyDeleteDamn it... Her quirk brings all the boys to the yard.
ReplyDeleteI've just been celeb-crushing on Willa Holland for years :O
ReplyDeleteI agree about Laurel but EBR is also ad worthy. However I agree, Katie is probably one of the hottest girls out there
Just to clarify, you didn't use the idiom wrong. It is probably used teasingly just as often as seriously. Since enjoying shirtless men is low brow entertainment, you gave the high ground to Koky--it wasn't an insult when I read it, it was a compliment making Koky better than the rest of us who might enjoy shirtless men too much.
ReplyDelete"My heart used to be of stone, you made it crumble and turned it into a strawberry" - Bruce Wayne
ReplyDeleteNo they think you are above all that superficial ogling of shirtless hunks. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, God! EBR is the one i like the most... It just that she has a "girl next door" vibe on her. Willa and Katie, both have this "model air" around them.
ReplyDelete¿Habla español?
ReplyDeleteVoce fala portugues?
Parli italiano?
Ruh-Roh! Looks like the Olicity fans are in for a DEFCON Level 1 meltdown.
ReplyDeleteWilla? She seems more like "that chick you meet at Dub Assembly, take back home and wake up the next morning with her already being gone without having left her phone number"
ReplyDeletethis happened....I swear the girl looked just like her....my life is sad
Actually most of the thread is talking about various actors' assets....
ReplyDeleteSource: http://shipper-heart1207.tumblr.com/image/102508788410
ReplyDeleteThere was a detailed tweet. But I can't find it.
Guess they're not done baiting the Barry/Felicity shippers either.
ReplyDeleteMore ship Wars Scotty! I need more ship wars!
Also Spoiler Alert: Sin is coming back.
ReplyDeletelmao!
ReplyDeleteI'm never getting the song out of my head now.
ReplyDeleteIndian baby. Namaste!
ReplyDeleteWell certain words are to be used carefully. It's good to know.
ReplyDeleteNo way this is happening. They won't get together this soon.
ReplyDeleteI like Sin, The Sin/Roy/Thea combo was one of the best things last year.
ReplyDeleteBut considering Sara's fate it's probably not going to be a happy return.
I see you really went for the action there... I would like a more "character driven" show. That would be a very serialized show under constant action.
ReplyDeleteWould you actually bring Prometheus on board?
Well, i do not know that one Jajaja Bummer! :(
ReplyDeleteI still think Sin is a front runner on the "Who killed Sara?" contest... My other pick would be Tommy.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what the hell is a Dub Assembly, but if it has girls like that i will see if there's one over here...
ReplyDeleteI do not have high hopes... My country sucks... ¬¬
But it would be hilarious... That would be serious trolling Jajaja
ReplyDeleteUnless we get 100% confirmation that Lazarus Pits exist in the Arrowverse, Tommy is out.
ReplyDeleteHmm, yeah.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah... Sin is my number one.
Sure that Tommy thing wasn't just refering to him showing up in Hong Kong?
ReplyDeleteBecause once they start bringing people actually back from the dead (Sara's season 2 survival was already stretching it), they might as well go full metahuman with Flash.
ReplyDeleteFelicity looks beautiful in that blue dress. Cupid is scary and hottie Ray shirtless...can't wait for this episode !
ReplyDeleteI don't agree with them but I see where they're coming from at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to remain optimistic and say that there's a good chance they will :) I think that they have the possibility of having the healthiest relationship on the show (bar Digg/Lyla because they're not really on screen that much) and I'd much rather see that than Oliver go through hoards of women or go back to Laurel (they literally bring out the worst in each other... Last episode sort of proved that to me).
ReplyDeleteFor me, I'd like the writers to finally get Oliver/Felicity together, have them be happy and focus on the other good stuff like the action, the villains, other characters...
ReplyDeleteI don't like it..
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, I think that's like that in all fandoms. Or so I hear...
ReplyDeleteThat is. My point is the way it is written is done by pedestaling the characters.
ReplyDelete168 comments...gotta love the enthusiasm of our fandom. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's the first shirtless photo of the season. It was meant to be!!!
ReplyDeleteI loved Sara and was devastated by her death.
ReplyDeleteThere is no need to root for Ray/Felicity. I don't think the writers are hoping Olicity fans or any kind of fans to start a new ship and ship war. The point of Ray/Felicity relationship is to show Felicity she has other choices than Oliver Queen and to show Oliver he can't keep Felicity in a limbo forever.
ReplyDeleteMost importantly it's his plans which is going to be most important story wise.
ReplyDeletes too many archers .
ReplyDeletei think the people who sells gun in the streets may start to sell bow and arrow in starling city.
looks like ray/felicity thing is happening
ReplyDeletethank god for action seq
otherwise i would be dropping this.
maybe i will ff when ray/felicity happens
God, Felicity is just too gorgeous for words. I love that woman so much. And Oliver better hurry up and get Felicity back before Ray has a chance with her. Looks like he has some competition! Also, Cupid looks to be such an interesting villain! I think she's my most anticipated villain of the season so far. Nice abs, Ray. So jealous :P
ReplyDeleteRay Palmer shirtless...mmmhum. Now there is a man in Felicity's circle that surely will turn Oliver pea green. I am still an Olicity fan yet maybe a long hot fling between Ray and Felicity will show Oliver what poor choice he had made by existing instead of living.
ReplyDeleteIm not a big fan of Ray Palmer so Felicity going out on a date with him does not sit well with me, Olicity all the way and if this doesnt wake him up then i dont know, how many frogs does my girl have to kiss before her prince shows up to the party!!
ReplyDeleteI also think that this relationship is not going anywhere, but I'm not entirely sure.
ReplyDeletePalmer is strating to creep me out. but the dress is still awesome.
ReplyDeleteIts sorta like what happened with Clark and Chloe on Smallville. Everyone, including me, wanted them to end up together but he ended up with Lois which was totally fine. If Laurel was as fun-loving and funny as Lois I wouldn't really mind Oliver ending up with her but Laurel is too much like Lana, who a majority wanted gone after the first season.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I can't warm up to Ray. I dont know if its because the actor played a terrible person in Chuck or if its because he's creepy
ReplyDeleteLOL sorry I didn't express myself properly. I didn't really mean root for as in want them to go long term, I meant, I want to watch them without cringing.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I don't find Ray to be trustworthy? IDK why, he just seems too good to be true. I would love to find out his end game.
oh god. heavy sigh.
ReplyDeleteEven I am not sure he is trust worthy.
ReplyDelete
